Much thanks to the time and effort Jake Seeger's has put into another illuminating piece about the problems facing us locally. I'll not wait for the Sequim Gazette or Peninsula Daily News to do some impactful reporting like Mr. Seeger's has done. That we have unpaid citizens like Jeff and Jake who will do what few others will lift a finger to do is a gift to us all, and a curse to the handful that seek to control us with self-serving policies.

What this article highlights is the lack of independence our county has from outside influence, and how our BOCCs go along with the mindset while bemoaning an affordable housing crisis. Create the problem quietly, emerge with a cape later to save everyone?

So our current crop of commissioners are worsening our housing affordability problems, potentially increasing the tax burden on individuals, and do little to enhance our local infrastructure to attract businesses that pay living wages.

We're not being represented.

MK, we are not represented. Has anyone been invited to any presentation who represents Clallam County taxpayers? Comm. Ozias consistently invites his buddies to give lengthy presentations asking for money at the work sessions, but the common taxpayer is always excluded. That is called special interest, favoritism, and elitism. Again, we are the dirt beneath their shoes to them. No kings rallies need to have Nozias signs.

Housing costs are impacted by fees of all kinds (permits, permits, permits) and taxes.

Jobs... Got a good job? You can buy a house, condo... No job? High on drugs, get out of CC... You are a burden to the rest of us. Some of us don't want you dragging CC down.

I don't see 'housing' as the problem, I see two issues now. Finitely.

ECONOMY SAFETY

A good economy are jobs that pay a living wage for real work. Raising all the minimum wage jobs to a "living wage" is not fixing the economy. You can pass the law, raise the minimum wage to new highs but it's just passed along in the burger you buy, the groceries, gasoline...

Again, and for the fiftieth time, what's missing is a Commissioner who will focus on what is important to CC and it is not the NGOs.

EDIT: I think I would edit this to JOBS SAFETY. Something that fits on a sign.

"Too many pigs and not enough tits"? When Jeff's father was a little boy, the area was mostly covered with farms and very few housing subdivisions, yet I bet the average wage earner could afford to live here then. For the last half decade, I have watched an army of petty criminals moving here.

Perhaps we are watching the process of Evolution taking place. As more petty criminals move into Clallam County more ordinary citizens will leave and the prices will adjust. If the crime rate escalates demand will fall.

The problem mentioned above is the reason antitrust laws were enacted over a century ago. Corporate power and government power often merge. This might be the reason for so many wars that do not benefit our country. Eisenhauer warned us about this situation about sixty years ago.

This is an interesting poll. When Covid rolled around I was not only condoning but willing and able to break any law or mandate that was coming from the authoritarian "health" officials and government bureaucrats. At the time, Allison Berry was not willing to consider any advice from people like me, Governor Insley was willing to fire people like me, and Biden wished people like me ill health and death.

So I don't think it should go only one way. Sometimes breaking the law is the MOST important thing that can be done for freedom to exist. But leaders in charge must be willing to see both sides. Our problem in Clallam County and WA state is we don't have any leaders with the critical thinking skills needed to determine when law breaking is essential or not.

Well dang it Jake, you connected some dots for me today for sure. Think this NOLT nonsense doesn’t affect all of us? Think again. A property owner on my street who already had 20 acres “conserved” added another 4 acres of flat, treed land to their existing trust. This could have been 3 or 4 SF homes. But, we can’t have that! All peasants must live in state owned multi family units in the city core. Did I say that right?

Meanwhile, the rest of us have to buck up and shoulder the tax burden.

Conservation is a great thing. Private property rights are a great thing. Both things can be true. Clallam County needs leaders with critical thinking skills to balance the two.

The Wild West's carbon credit market has issues, lots of issues.

Carbon credits can be used as a loophole for companies to continue polluting instead of making necessary, difficult changes to reduce emissions at their source.

Companies can claim "carbon neutral" or "net zero" status by buying credits, which masks the actual emissions coming from their own operations.

The actual emissions savings of a project are often overstated due to flawed calculations or loopholes. No standards exist for calculating or auditing the emission savings. The lack of personnel at Washington's Department of Ecology necessitated handing over the task of overseeing the program to California-based contractors.

A carbon market's emission reductions must be REAL, QUANTIFIABLE and PERMANENT. Carbon stored in projects like forests can be released back into the atmosphere through events like wildfires, making the offset temporary.

A project can cause emissions to simply shift to a different location. For example, if a forest is protected, the loggers may simply cut down trees in an adjacent area instead. This is known as "leakage."

There is a lack of consistent regulation and oversight, leading to a wide variation in credit quality and a difficultly in verifying reductions.

The very existence of carbon credit markets could discourage governments from implementing stricter, mandatory regulations and carbon pricing that might be more effective at driving comprehensive decarbonization.

As a member of Olympic Clean Air Agency's Board of Directors Mike French must know this. Have ORCAA's engineers independently verified any of the calculated emission offsets of the projects French advocates for?

To bolster the ineffective claim.

"Critics say Washington’s climate policies raise gas prices while delivering too few environmental gains. The Seattle Times editorial board argues less than 14% of carbon auction revenue directly reduces emissions."

https://washingtonstatestandard.com/2025/10/04/attacking-the-science-wa-ecology-director-slams-trumps-climate-policies/

------------------------------------------------------

And the state agencies are being sued for failure to release climate data.

"A lawsuit was filed in Thurston County Superior Court on Thursday by a pair of state lawmakers and a public policy organization against two state agencies for what the plaintiffs say is the agencies’ failure to comply with a state law requiring the timely reporting of greenhouse gas emissions."

Thank you Jake Seegers and Jeff Tozzer for another great revealing presentation of the theft of OUR precious lands~! "We" (local residents) are THE absolute caretakers of these lands that we inhabit and as such we need to know when our freedoms, rights, and responsibilities are being interfered with by the local clown show and any outside criminal entities~! With people like these in government "protecting us" we sure don't need any enemies~! It is ultimately OUR duty to actively oversee this wonderful natural paradise and no one else is welcome to play any role~! These criminal fools in our local government have been on a very obvious constant "warpath" against our property rights and specifically our right to develop and build new homes within Clallam County for many years now. As a well experienced real estate analyst I have seen the government increasing efforts to make drilling water wells a nightmare of red tape, skyrocketing costs, and the excessively intrusive monitoring of water use to restrict residents from living as they please. About 10 years ago the hideous and treasonous government of the state of Washington unconstitutionally "declared" that it has the sole authority to determine and control ALL water in the state (including the rainwater). The local morons in government have made installing new septic systems a nearly complete "extortion racket" where a great many property owners who wanted to build new homes face the outrageous costs of being forced to install a "sand filtration system". Most folks should understand that the local costs, government "red tape", fees, and skyrocketing taxes involved in the real estate process have severely impacted the development of single-family homes (especially outside of the cities and in the county/country environment where most folks prefer to live). These criminals within our government have been SO effective at choking off the building of new homes, that they have had to find other ways to keep from being discovered for the rats that they truly are, which has resulted in these underhanded "bad actors" having to scramble to, by hook and by crook, green light the shady building of "housing units" in any way that they possibly can in order to portray the completely fake appearance of a community that is attempting to keep up with housing demand. Ha~! The clown show in government has built "legs" of the existing sewer system in highly questionable areas to be able to "install" high density "housing units" developments where a great many abutting homeowners were forced to engage in legal actions to attempt to preserve the quality & safety of their neighborhoods and property values. The criminals in government have actually "raised" the speed limits of roads to "suddenly" meet their own fraudulent standards and criteria for building high density home developments in some cases. The "great stewards" that these rotten liars claim they are, "suddenly" destroy any protected natural habitat that previously existed, as soon as such precious lands happen to get into the way of their own evil agendas, where they are no longer so important. The once beautifully healthy and rich crab harvest that was accessed out of the John Wayne Harbor has been nothing short of "raped" by the very local Indian tribes who lie through their teeth about being such great stewards of OUR lands~! Anyone can visit the John Wayne Harbor any day and witness numerous commercial boats, trailers, and commercial vans that are STILL engaged in the raping of our once abundant crab population that has been ongoing for YEARS now~! I have no idea just how or who "green lighted" the destruction of our local crab population, but I do know that it has happened over the recent years and it was NEVER like that before~! Now the entire John Wayne Marina has become a HUGE commercial fishing operation, leaving the recreational boaters struggling to launch and retrieve their boats, with FAR fewer parking spaces available to them~! Suspiciously, recently, the John Wayne Harbor was "declared" to be on the acquisition "hit list" of the criminally corrupt "environmental criminals" of the Jamestown tribal government! By now everyone should fully understand that the criminals in our local government are attempting to betray the entire community by allowing a large-scale high-end home development, that few locals could possibly afford, to overtake and destroy our beautiful quaint John Wayne Marina~! No, these things are NOT "just progress" or random events because they all fit into a dirty underhanded agenda of the criminals behind closed door meetings who have absolutely NO right to destroy the treasures and very fabric of our community~! If "we" (local residents) do not come together to purge these criminals within our own government and community now, we will wake up someday and wonder just how this once awesome part of America was destroyed so quickly by our own tax dollars, government kickbacks, underhanded "favors", and undisclosed payments to those who sold us and their own souls out many years ago~! Sincerely, Mike

Hello wonderful Patriot Jennifer~!

It is always nice to hear from you, and thank you for the generous compliment :)

What I am referring to as "The Jamestown tribal governments acquisition Hit List" is the fact that not long ago it was announced that the slimy crooks in our local government proposed that they were considering selling the John Wayne Marina property to an outside entity, which at that time was met with a HUGE community push back~! Then, I believe that it was just last year or perhaps earlier this year, that the "rat fink" Paul Allen of the Jamestown tribal government publicly announced that he/they were interested (and of course entitled) to own and control the John Wayne Marina! So, they are definitely considering stealing control of that local treasure to turn it into a non-property taxpaying tribal commercial development. I can envision a gate guarded, paid admission extortion fee required, commercial project for anyone who was not a Jamestown tribal member, to even enter that beautiful Marina and that would be criminal to say the least. One of my uncles was actually a personal friend of John Wayne's for years, so as far as I know I seriously doubt that he or his family donated that beautiful harbor to the government for it to be turned into an exclusive private business venture for anyone, especially the money and power grubbing Jamestown Indian Tribal government~! Like the worst kinds of thieves, the Jamestown tribal government is constantly looking for any valuable land & property to steal, especially by using our own governments & taxpayer dollars against us, so they can add to their tribal portfolio of real estate as they push good folks out of the community and continue to ruthlessly control & dominate those who remain~! Additionally, we should take specific note of the fact that immediately after the government announced that they were considering selling The John Wayne Marina property, not only the Jamestown tribal government but the shady property developers who have been pushing to develop that same immediate area into high end luxury properties, came out from under their rocks to announce their completely unwanted projects~! Those who believe that all happened at the same time "coincidently" should seek mental because help, because the odds that "we" were/are witnessing yet another closed-door criminal conspiracy against the majority of the wishes and best interests of the folks in our community are nearly 100%~! These criminals who constantly work through their closed-door meeting conspiracies at some point MUST start to reveal their evil plots, as an instrumental part of their criminal process, so all "we" (the good folks of our community) really need to do is to work on our memory capabilities to be able to put things together better~! To be able to see the "big picture"~! The criminal law system does not believe in "coincidences" so nether should we, ESPECIALLY because these crooks in government always shove their preconceived plans down our throats telling us that they were not planned WAY ahead of time~! Ha~! The criminals in government always plan years and even decades ahead of time, all while they do their best to trick us into believing that they don't~!

Have a great funday Sunday and thanks again for your great question~!

Sincerely, Mike

Peninsula Daily news May 10, 2019: Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe eyes marina on Sequim Bay

SEQUIM — The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is exploring the purchase of John Wayne Marina from the Port of Port Angeles — if other options do not work out — Tribal Chairman Ron Allen said Thursday.

The tribe now is working with the city of Sequim on a joint proposal to run the public, 300-slip facility under city ownership.

Under the joint city-tribe proposal, the port would transfer the marina to the city “at no or very low cost,” according to an April 23, 2018, City Council resolution, and the tribe would manage it.

“IF WE DISCOVER THAT IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO WORK WITH SEQUIM OR THE PROPOSAL DOES NOT WORK FOR US, WE MAY TAKE A HARD LOOK AT ACQUISTION BY OURSELVES” ALLEN (RON) SAID"

In PA checkerboard chunks of fully functional traditional homes, most likely built with local lumber and hands in the early 1900's, are to be designated as "High density" and "for redevelopment" under the new zoning. It makes no sense to carve out sections that take me less than 3 minutes to walk to be exempt from the high density fate while other perfectly good single family homes are being targeted for elimination. If I had the time, I would research the ownership on the tax roles to see who got their carve out from density. If you own property in Cherry Hill, hospital/tree park area, or Pine Hill I urge you to study the future plan maps on the various comprehensive update docs (they don't all seem to agree internally either) and how it may impact your property. “We are the carbon they want to reduce “

You must certainly have seen this somewhere even multiple times. So why, then, is it not registering? Is there or is there not a depopulation movement?

Like it or not, “the business of man is man.” Do I need to add the caveat that it’s non gender specific? We are in evil times, so I do.

God gave us through Moses and the tablets “The Ten Commandments” for our personal behavior. “Love thy neighbor as thyself” is shorthand for a portion. It has gone totally missing in what we are now witnessing.

God also gave three more commands, which apply to a tribe or nation but not individuals: be fruitful and multiply; replenish the earth; subdue the earth. Obviously, individuals are involved and a few like farmers, ranchers, loggers, and fishermen (any others?) might do all three. Some people can’t do any and that’s how it should be, but we all can contribute something if we refuse to let others stop us. I am also thinking of one task, especially, that some like those with blue hair and a nose ring should not do for the benefit of the nation.

God knows how many souls he has and how many have still not been “born of woman” before he cashes in. He won’t allow man, non gender specific again, to destroy his earth in the interim.

Wake up! The climate crap is only crap, carbon credits, “resiliency,” all of it, crap. Fight it! It’s satanic. You are a child of God!

C. S. Lewis informed us, “You don’t have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body.” God owns all souls, and your body will soon be useless. No need to soil yourself with the lies swarming all around.

The old con - watch over here, look up. The CO2 in the atmosphere is an existential threat. But don’t look in your community or your home or your kids’ school, you are saving the planet.

I am certain we are being played by people with evil intentions. They are against nuclear while claiming we face an “existential threat” from man-made CO2 caused global warming.

The “global warming” lie and the “energy shortage” lie are the rationale and thumbscrews to force Americans to accept and endure higher exhaled CO2 in tighter poorly ventilated homes, schools, offices, etc.. Keep looking up while the real problem is in your noses, lungs, and blood. They won’t address the harm this is causing. In fact, they deny any harm and manufacture phony reasons to try to explain away the harm.

Nor will they examine whether tighter buildings are a false savings. In my piece about the evil CDC, I explain how it causes more not less energy use. (And I have more reasons now).

Perhaps the crown jewel is “peer review,” which was implemented at the same time global warming and energy lies were invented and tighter buildings were required. It is ‘prior to publication’ censorship designed to keep their lies from being exposed and you from learning the truth.

There are no “greenhouse gases” because earth is not a greenhouse. No gas makes a greenhouse warm unless it’s the propane in the heaters, otherwise it’s the greenhouse GLASS that can make a greenhouse warm. No gas has the properties of that glass, nor does the earth.

It’s the solid nature of glass and rigidity of the glass walls and roof that keeps the wind, snow, rain, etc. out while allowing light to pass through but blocking infrared radiation, IR, from escaping to the atmosphere.

The earth has no rigid walls like a greenhouse. The atmosphere expands and contracts. Wind, snow, etc. can pass through CO2 molecules in the atmosphere, even more easily when the air expands with warming.

Three bands representing about 15% of the IR spectrum are involved when talking about CO2 versus 100% for glass. It is claimed that the CO2 absorbs the IR electromagnetic radiation in the 3 bands. These are the wavelengths or frequencies at which the carbon-oxygen bonds in CO2 resonate, are excited. Excitation suggests motion. Motion is not heat. What would be the source of friction within the CO2 molecule to generate heat and radiate IR?

“Greenhouse gas” is a corruption of language, the kind the left is famous for. “Atmospheric rivers” and “King tides” are two more of late. Then there’s the old standby, “gun violence.” Again, there are no such things. They are concocted to deceive, panic, and stampede.

The earth was once super hot (estimated at 3,680 degrees Fahrenheit) and the air was mostly CO2 (all the carbon had been burned, incinerated, cremated, oxidized into CO2). If CO2 causes warming, the earth could not have cooled, ever.

The temperature portion of the laws for the solubility of a gas in a liquid tells us that warming is the cause of the rise in CO2 in the air. Anyone who has opened a carbonated beverage container has witnessed CO2 bubbles escaping as the liquid warms. Every ocean, lake, pond, river, swamp, bog, bit of moist earth has its own source of CO2, some of which will be released with warming. If CO2 really caused warming, there would be a positive feedback loop leading to catastrophe. It’s never happened before and never will. CO2 does not cause warming.

Remember “global warming” is really not about warming. It’s about slower cooling. If CO2 works as claimed, it cannot cause warming in a cooling period, and it could only boost temperatures if in a warming period.

And, if CO2 works as claimed, it seems there is an easy way to test that. Look for a change in the rate of cooling. Higher temperatures do not provide proof. However, if the difference between day time high temperatures and night time low temperatures were to decrease, that could be a strong argument supporting CO2 as an agent causing warming.

Why haven’t we seen such data? Must be it doesn’t help the cause of man-made CO2 caused “global warming.”

Spring is probably best for research as the daily variations in temperature are greatest.

It would demand a lot of data. In addition, looking at the change after one hour, two hours, etc. could be informative as it may minimize the impact of changes in the weather, a new system moving in. Avoid “heat islands” and other unnatural conditions.

True Elites are always in favor of depopulation. like Rockefeller funded euthanasia today Gates funding population control .The Earth isn't sitting stationary in space it's moving through space effected by the sun that has gone through many cycles.Where we are right now at one time was under ice now we are going into a warming trend again which is a good thing because the melting of the ice caps will create more farm land that are deserts right now like in Australia ,Africa .The weather will be less cold so more people can live in places like northern Alaska ,Canada other places giving the population more space to live .

Don, I was going to ask someone to give me a "CO2 for dummies" explanation. I'm lost with all the carbon credit stuff and tried to do some research. You have certainly covered it Thank You!

As a tree hugger and nature lover who followed the laws of this nation to earn and acquire my private property which I intend to steward for MY descendants, I am deeply concerned about the relationships between area conservation organizations and the land back movement in WA. What is the end game for law abiding Americans and their private property in Clallam? Any recovered former addict would likely agree with C.S. Lewis- "You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. "

No, I don't have any idea exactly where "my ancestors walked." They may have informed who I am but they are not WHO I AM today. My maternal side were Huguenots, Romani and a mix of I don't know what else. My father was a part German racist whose Norwegian great grandfather jumped from a ship anchored in the Gulf of Mexico and swam ashore in Texas to become American. The bitter irony did not escape me that my father used disparaging names for Mexicans who swam across a river for a chance in America. As a young service industry worker in Texas in pre-internet times I felt an obligation to protect my immigrant coworkers who vanished from the job when word got out on the streets that La Migra was in town, in part because of the sins of my father. But I don't believe I am a "guest" here in my home I legally purchased under US and Washington law, and I am increasingly concerned about the various efforts to take said home from me by tax or title.

We are not so far from BC, and all connected by the Salish sea. Could what is happening in BC be foreshadowing our future?

Susie, thank you for this research. This is troubling.

The Comprehensive Plans are constantly being updated through "public process" that no one from the public seems to know about. We definitely need engaged citizens to dig into the county and city public plans to see what is being pushed through behind the scenes.

Thank you, Jake, for being a guest contributor and informing us of deeper details. You, Jeff, and John W. are tirelessly volunteering to save our County. That is why some commenters try to challenge you by pointing out "inconsistencies" in your articles. But they are no match for any of you and all of the other great commenters who share their research on this site. A debt of gratitude by hopeful hearts.

The sign should say save the forests for burning up..

Them charred microbes save our butt..

They always have slogans that never hold water. Wildfires are great for rivers and lakes because of charred microbes.. but logging isn't.

The fart smellers rubbing their beards and pushing in their glass talk about how carbon from fire is as necessary as limestone and the river system is part of a mandatory cycle in a 4.5 billion year process.

Then they go into the men's room and fog the mirror to draw up the real plan to save the planet with wildfire smoke and carbon going downstream into the ocean and rained back down to create what is supposed to be created.... like Orc's being hatched in the rain forest or something.

Whatever, their doom and gloom for forest management is doesn't prevent that cycle from taking place.

Who knows with these people they always erase the mirror before they leave the men's room.

All they really do is get power with environmental issues.
