Much thanks to the time and effort Jake Seeger's has put into another illuminating piece about the problems facing us locally. I'll not wait for the Sequim Gazette or Peninsula Daily News to do some impactful reporting like Mr. Seeger's has done. That we have unpaid citizens like Jeff and Jake who will do what few others will lift a finger to do is a gift to us all, and a curse to the handful that seek to control us with self-serving policies.
What this article highlights is the lack of independence our county has from outside influence, and how our BOCCs go along with the mindset while bemoaning an affordable housing crisis. Create the problem quietly, emerge with a cape later to save everyone?
So our current crop of commissioners are worsening our housing affordability problems, potentially increasing the tax burden on individuals, and do little to enhance our local infrastructure to attract businesses that pay living wages.
MK, we are not represented. Has anyone been invited to any presentation who represents Clallam County taxpayers? Comm. Ozias consistently invites his buddies to give lengthy presentations asking for money at the work sessions, but the common taxpayer is always excluded. That is called special interest, favoritism, and elitism. Again, we are the dirt beneath their shoes to them. No kings rallies need to have Nozias signs.
I think your frank language is very appealing. The goal is to reduce the number of tax payers. The mob that pays no taxes always supports the expansion of government candy.
Yes, that’s the crowd Casey Roloff pictures in his development. 1300 new units at Seabrook. WTH ? He tried to get Seabrook an official town with its own zip code.
Eventually no one will be left that remembers what the North Beach (Grays Harbor) Pacific Beach and Moclips looked like. Once housing for the timber industry workers and a train that’s terminus was in Moclips. People dug clams, rode horses on the beach, camped in the parks and collected driftwood.
The Seabrook crowd drive all the way out there and don’t go to the beach. The museum of the North Beach has a calendar every year with pictures of how it was.
It’s about time the land trust is being outed. On ND when I commented on the down side of “Land Trusts”, it was like I had killed puppies. People were vicious rejecting my negative
IMO housing affordability is a problem because Sequim is attempting to attract a certain demographic that always votes for left wing political solutions. I am not certain that our area can ever compete with the economies of Seattle and Portland. I would suggest a different route if the motivation is economic prosperity. Our county should attract more wealthy members of the leisure class. OTOH the wealthy Boomers from California might be part of the political challenge we face today. Life is filled with irony.
Housing costs are impacted by fees of all kinds (permits, permits, permits) and taxes.
Jobs... Got a good job? You can buy a house, condo... No job? High on drugs, get out of CC... You are a burden to the rest of us. Some of us don't want you dragging CC down.
I don't see 'housing' as the problem, I see two issues now. Finitely.
ECONOMY SAFETY
A good economy are jobs that pay a living wage for real work. Raising all the minimum wage jobs to a "living wage" is not fixing the economy. You can pass the law, raise the minimum wage to new highs but it's just passed along in the burger you buy, the groceries, gasoline...
Again, and for the fiftieth time, what's missing is a Commissioner who will focus on what is important to CC and it is not the NGOs.
EDIT: I think I would edit this to JOBS SAFETY. Something that fits on a sign.
"Too many pigs and not enough tits"? When Jeff's father was a little boy, the area was mostly covered with farms and very few housing subdivisions, yet I bet the average wage earner could afford to live here then. For the last half decade, I have watched an army of petty criminals moving here.
It's all by design...you don't have this many factors involved...this much complication, without it being designed and executed.
We can only counter evil by calling it out and holding a higher vision of humanity for the future...If we don't prevail...we can say we did our best...😎
Doing our duty without attachment to outcomes is maybe the hardest lesson of all.😇
I researched duty:
Duty is what you’re obligated to do — the action expected of you by law, role, or moral code.
Rightness is what is intrinsically good or true — the action that aligns with conscience, truth, or divine order.
In short:
Duty is about Obligation.
Rightness is about Integrity.
Ideally, they coincide — but when they don’t, the higher path is Rightness.
I have to say that the old commies who removed the flagging and signs from DNR land and went to Olympia were probably doing their duty, as they see it...I believe that civil disobedience is crucial at times....perhaps time will re-prove 'French-fry's' assertion that violence is necessary too.
I find it more disconcerting that a mystery agent shows up with the alternative plan funded by US through forced taxation without representation...maybe we would agree to a tax which helped save special forest environments in a win-win situation.
But we have not been given that opportunity...we are being force-fed increasingly draconian laws and mandates forced upon us by the fascist system of corporately owned governmental management.
I would term it 'Godless' governance but they do have a 'god'. I don't know if it is an actual entity but it loves power, control and money...and despises humanity...maybe we deserve it...I don't know...but my Duty is to assert what my moral code expects of me and to act Rightly with good conscience and hopefully divine order...yet to be discovered! Blessings to All🙏🏼😇😎
Perhaps we are watching the process of Evolution taking place. As more petty criminals move into Clallam County more ordinary citizens will leave and the prices will adjust. If the crime rate escalates demand will fall.
Just looked it up 800 times Meta has intentionally violated state campaign laws .They have a 35 million dollar judgement they are still fighting against in court . Multi Billionaires artificially drive up land housing prices through speculation and that goes for all other commodities too .They also fund these environmental groups ,NGOs turning well meaning people but who are imbalanced into eco terrorists with propaganda .Just like the Mulas turn young man into terrorists ready to strap on a bomb for Allah . Gates is largest land owner in US second iis Bezos .Now Zuckerberg wants get into the action with climate change propaganda a newly created artificial financial instrument .Remember the movie Goldfinger the villain didn't have to steal the gold at Fort Knox that would be too hard he just had to use a nuclear bomb so no one could touch the gold so his gold would be more valuable .Timber a 200 billion dollar industry follow the money behind lobbying ,NGOs who is profiting.? Why are We the People allowing the money changers into the temple of our democracy ?
The problem mentioned above is the reason antitrust laws were enacted over a century ago. Corporate power and government power often merge. This might be the reason for so many wars that do not benefit our country. Eisenhauer warned us about this situation about sixty years ago.
This is an interesting poll. When Covid rolled around I was not only condoning but willing and able to break any law or mandate that was coming from the authoritarian "health" officials and government bureaucrats. At the time, Allison Berry was not willing to consider any advice from people like me, Governor Insley was willing to fire people like me, and Biden wished people like me ill health and death.
So I don't think it should go only one way. Sometimes breaking the law is the MOST important thing that can be done for freedom to exist. But leaders in charge must be willing to see both sides. Our problem in Clallam County and WA state is we don't have any leaders with the critical thinking skills needed to determine when law breaking is essential or not.
IMO laws were created by humans. Humans are fallible. If the time is midnight and a red traffic signal refuses to turn green. Should a motorist sit inside his/her car all night or do they violate the law and run the red light?
Follow the money. Carbon credit markets are nothing more than money laundering devices to fleece the public. And why do elected officials go along with it. Follow the money.
Its my understanding that Washington, California, a Canadian privince are joining their carbon markets together...what could possibly go wrong with that? Three entities that are fiscally mismanaged to force-sell credits for environmental wacko purposes...and supporting NGOs with no accountability for money use.
I am a fairly new reader/fan. I found the CC Watchdog because my father, who lives in Sequim, told me about the killing of Richard Madeo, and I was so disturbed that something like that happened in Sequim that I went online to find out more information from news sources and instead found the CC Watchdog. Both Jeff (and Jake) write very educational and interesting articles that have taught me a great deal. I am learning what to watch for in my own county. Kudos and thank you :-)
Well dang it Jake, you connected some dots for me today for sure. Think this NOLT nonsense doesn’t affect all of us? Think again. A property owner on my street who already had 20 acres “conserved” added another 4 acres of flat, treed land to their existing trust. This could have been 3 or 4 SF homes. But, we can’t have that! All peasants must live in state owned multi family units in the city core. Did I say that right?
Meanwhile, the rest of us have to buck up and shoulder the tax burden.
Conservation is a great thing. Private property rights are a great thing. Both things can be true. Clallam County needs leaders with critical thinking skills to balance the two.
Jake, Thank you for your article. It covers a lot of areas.I tried to answer part of your question below. I could only tackle a small portion, but it was interesting to research. It centers PRIMARILY on NOLT.
“Why have our commissioners embraced the wholesale transfer of private lands to mega-corporations, global climate interests, and state agencies—entities that use taxpayer-funded programs to bid against the very taxpayers who fund them?”

North Olympic Land Trust works to conserve land across Clallam County on the North Olympic Peninsula. This area is the traditional homeland of five Sovereign Tribes – Hoh, Makah, Quileute, Jamestown S’Klallam, and Lower Elwha Klallam – who have lived on this land since TIME IMMEMORIAL. A reciprocal relationship with this land – from the mountains to the sea – is the bedrock of each Tribe’s unique culture.
THE LAND TRUST HAS PROFOUND ADMIRATION OF THE TRIBES for their enduring fight for our environment and gratitude for SHARING WITH US their principles of reciprocity, care and protection of the North Olympic Peninsula. WE ACKNOWLEDGE HISTORICAL AND ONGOING INJUSTICES and through our work strive to learn to live on the land and with the land. By doing this, we begin to MAKE AMENDS. May we heal relationships as we heal the land.

March 19, 2021 This Women’s History Month, we are excited to get to know more about an amazing woman who has made her career by working to conserve and restore fish habitat on the Olympic Peninsula. LaTrisha Suggs is currently the Restoration Planner for the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, which recently partnered with the North Olympic Land Trust on the purchase of 104 acres of farmland and habitat along the Dungeness River.
The Land Trust has protected dozens of properties across Clallam County with an eye toward conserving quality and contiguous fish habitat. To date, this has led to 1.7 miles of marine shoreline and 14 miles of stream and river habitat conservation. Key watersheds for past and future efforts include: Jimmycomelately Creek, Dungeness River, McDonald Creek, Siebert Creek, Ennis Creek, Valley Creek, Elwha River, Salt Creek, Lyre River, East and West Twin Rivers, Pysht River, Hoko River, Elk Creek, Sol Duc River, Bogachiel River and Big River.

CLALLAM COUNTY WATCHDOG The "Landback" movement Sept 11, 2025
A movement framed as cultural restoration is quietly reshaping land use, politics, and property rights In 2021, the North Olympic Land Trust (NOLT) and the Strait Ecosystem Recovery Network (SERN)—whose fiscal agent is the Jamestown Tribe—hosted a workshop that included tribes, climate activists, and government agencies. The event suggested relocating property owners away from beaches threatened by sea level rise. Attendees openly admitted that property owners should not expect “full price” if their homes were bought out.
In this interview, conducted in June 2003, longtime Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Chairman Ron Allen discusses the role he played in his tribe gaining federal recognition and his work with the National Congress of American Indians. Allen thrives on challenge, GREATLY EXPANDING THE ECONOMY OF HIS OWN SMALL NATIONof while simultaneously working on the national level with NCAI and other intertribal organizations.
Wow, Jennifer! Thank you for compiling all of this information into one place. Excellent work! Let's not forget that Ozias and Johnson established the Conservation Futures tax without a vote of the people and that all three commissioners have voted to give millions of these taxpayer funds to NOLT.
Wow, Jennifer. Want to be a guest contributor? You get a gold star for both "research" and "presentation." This is going into the "future stories" file. Terrific information... this just adds to the reasons why I LOVE the comments section.
They are everywhere! Below is a FREE PRESENTATION (no free pizza) in the same restaurant you presented in one of your articles where you’re charged a 1% donation to the Jefferson Land Trust who are partners with North Olympic Land Trust.
I have been Pavlovian conditioned to fall on my knees and beg for forgiveness whenever LAND TRUST or TIME IMMEMORIAL is mentioned.
“Archeological History of the Sequim Prairie”
October 23, 1:00pm at the Port Ludlow Bay Club
Our speaker for this lecture series is a gifted presenter. Mr. David Brownell is the Executive Director of the North Olympic History Center in Port Angeles. Prior to taking that position, Mr. Brownell worked for the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe as a cultural resources specialist and later as a designated Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Historic Preservation Officer. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from Hanover College, and a master’s in public history from Wright State University.
This 2nd presentation ties together climatology, geology, archaeology and ethnography to provide a holistic understanding of HUMAN OCCUPATION OF THE SEQUIM-DUNGENESS VALLEY since the end of the last ice age approximately 14,000 years ago. It explores the data and conclusions of archeological excavations at the Manis Mastadon and Sequim Bypass sites, among others.
Please join us at the Bay Club on October 23 at 1:00pm to hear this interesting and informative presentation. This program is sponsored by the Activities Committee of the SBCA, and open to the public, so there is no charge to attend.
Numbers say 47 or more people die from fentanyl ODs a year in this county many from the tribes .Shouldn't that be the first concern of the tribes and the Commissioners putting all their attention on saving people's lives not salmon or land ?
Oh, but didn't you hear? Systemic racism against our local native population caused those overdoses. Good news though! Our local (non-native) leaders are on top of it. They've implemented a new curriculum to teach local children about the heritage of the native population. And just like that, viola! Problem solved! Goodbye, economic disparity!
Just a note: Time immemorial means so far back in history that there is no representation of it (oral or written) that exists today. Just because the tribes think they have been here forever being stewards of the earth does not make it true.
Read about how populations came to this continent for a reasonable understanding of “time”. 4.5 billion years ago the earth and the tribes did not arrive simultaneously.
The Wild West's carbon credit market has issues, lots of issues.
Carbon credits can be used as a loophole for companies to continue polluting instead of making necessary, difficult changes to reduce emissions at their source.
Companies can claim "carbon neutral" or "net zero" status by buying credits, which masks the actual emissions coming from their own operations.
The actual emissions savings of a project are often overstated due to flawed calculations or loopholes. No standards exist for calculating or auditing the emission savings. The lack of personnel at Washington's Department of Ecology necessitated handing over the task of overseeing the program to California-based contractors.
A carbon market's emission reductions must be REAL, QUANTIFIABLE and PERMANENT. Carbon stored in projects like forests can be released back into the atmosphere through events like wildfires, making the offset temporary.
A project can cause emissions to simply shift to a different location. For example, if a forest is protected, the loggers may simply cut down trees in an adjacent area instead. This is known as "leakage."
There is a lack of consistent regulation and oversight, leading to a wide variation in credit quality and a difficultly in verifying reductions.
The very existence of carbon credit markets could discourage governments from implementing stricter, mandatory regulations and carbon pricing that might be more effective at driving comprehensive decarbonization.
As a member of Olympic Clean Air Agency's Board of Directors Mike French must know this. Have ORCAA's engineers independently verified any of the calculated emission offsets of the projects French advocates for?
"Critics say Washington’s climate policies raise gas prices while delivering too few environmental gains. The Seattle Times editorial board argues less than 14% of carbon auction revenue directly reduces emissions."
And the state agencies are being sued for failure to release climate data.
"A lawsuit was filed in Thurston County Superior Court on Thursday by a pair of state lawmakers and a public policy organization against two state agencies for what the plaintiffs say is the agencies’ failure to comply with a state law requiring the timely reporting of greenhouse gas emissions."
It’s a total money exchange for pollution. If we wanted to mitigate carbon emissions we quit cutting down trees. If you believe that is not the answer,
It’s a total shell game. The gamers are good, and those not paying enough attention praise their ecological little hearts.
Deeper digs are happening and I couldn’t be more content. NOLT is a scam but it isn’t alone. Who ever came up with the carbon buying scheme is/was an astute student of economics and politics and selling it to the public.
Thank you Jake Seegers and Jeff Tozzer for another great revealing presentation of the theft of OUR precious lands~! "We" (local residents) are THE absolute caretakers of these lands that we inhabit and as such we need to know when our freedoms, rights, and responsibilities are being interfered with by the local clown show and any outside criminal entities~! With people like these in government "protecting us" we sure don't need any enemies~! It is ultimately OUR duty to actively oversee this wonderful natural paradise and no one else is welcome to play any role~! These criminal fools in our local government have been on a very obvious constant "warpath" against our property rights and specifically our right to develop and build new homes within Clallam County for many years now. As a well experienced real estate analyst I have seen the government increasing efforts to make drilling water wells a nightmare of red tape, skyrocketing costs, and the excessively intrusive monitoring of water use to restrict residents from living as they please. About 10 years ago the hideous and treasonous government of the state of Washington unconstitutionally "declared" that it has the sole authority to determine and control ALL water in the state (including the rainwater). The local morons in government have made installing new septic systems a nearly complete "extortion racket" where a great many property owners who wanted to build new homes face the outrageous costs of being forced to install a "sand filtration system". Most folks should understand that the local costs, government "red tape", fees, and skyrocketing taxes involved in the real estate process have severely impacted the development of single-family homes (especially outside of the cities and in the county/country environment where most folks prefer to live). These criminals within our government have been SO effective at choking off the building of new homes, that they have had to find other ways to keep from being discovered for the rats that they truly are, which has resulted in these underhanded "bad actors" having to scramble to, by hook and by crook, green light the shady building of "housing units" in any way that they possibly can in order to portray the completely fake appearance of a community that is attempting to keep up with housing demand. Ha~! The clown show in government has built "legs" of the existing sewer system in highly questionable areas to be able to "install" high density "housing units" developments where a great many abutting homeowners were forced to engage in legal actions to attempt to preserve the quality & safety of their neighborhoods and property values. The criminals in government have actually "raised" the speed limits of roads to "suddenly" meet their own fraudulent standards and criteria for building high density home developments in some cases. The "great stewards" that these rotten liars claim they are, "suddenly" destroy any protected natural habitat that previously existed, as soon as such precious lands happen to get into the way of their own evil agendas, where they are no longer so important. The once beautifully healthy and rich crab harvest that was accessed out of the John Wayne Harbor has been nothing short of "raped" by the very local Indian tribes who lie through their teeth about being such great stewards of OUR lands~! Anyone can visit the John Wayne Harbor any day and witness numerous commercial boats, trailers, and commercial vans that are STILL engaged in the raping of our once abundant crab population that has been ongoing for YEARS now~! I have no idea just how or who "green lighted" the destruction of our local crab population, but I do know that it has happened over the recent years and it was NEVER like that before~! Now the entire John Wayne Marina has become a HUGE commercial fishing operation, leaving the recreational boaters struggling to launch and retrieve their boats, with FAR fewer parking spaces available to them~! Suspiciously, recently, the John Wayne Harbor was "declared" to be on the acquisition "hit list" of the criminally corrupt "environmental criminals" of the Jamestown tribal government! By now everyone should fully understand that the criminals in our local government are attempting to betray the entire community by allowing a large-scale high-end home development, that few locals could possibly afford, to overtake and destroy our beautiful quaint John Wayne Marina~! No, these things are NOT "just progress" or random events because they all fit into a dirty underhanded agenda of the criminals behind closed door meetings who have absolutely NO right to destroy the treasures and very fabric of our community~! If "we" (local residents) do not come together to purge these criminals within our own government and community now, we will wake up someday and wonder just how this once awesome part of America was destroyed so quickly by our own tax dollars, government kickbacks, underhanded "favors", and undisclosed payments to those who sold us and their own souls out many years ago~! Sincerely, Mike
Great write up Michael Heath! I do have a question because anytime I see "water" and JST together, I get the hives. What is the "hit list" you mentioned?
"...Suspiciously, recently, the John Wayne Harbor was "declared" to be on the acquisition "hit list" of the criminally corrupt "environmental criminals" of the Jamestown tribal government!"
It is always nice to hear from you, and thank you for the generous compliment :)
What I am referring to as "The Jamestown tribal governments acquisition Hit List" is the fact that not long ago it was announced that the slimy crooks in our local government proposed that they were considering selling the John Wayne Marina property to an outside entity, which at that time was met with a HUGE community push back~! Then, I believe that it was just last year or perhaps earlier this year, that the "rat fink" Paul Allen of the Jamestown tribal government publicly announced that he/they were interested (and of course entitled) to own and control the John Wayne Marina! So, they are definitely considering stealing control of that local treasure to turn it into a non-property taxpaying tribal commercial development. I can envision a gate guarded, paid admission extortion fee required, commercial project for anyone who was not a Jamestown tribal member, to even enter that beautiful Marina and that would be criminal to say the least. One of my uncles was actually a personal friend of John Wayne's for years, so as far as I know I seriously doubt that he or his family donated that beautiful harbor to the government for it to be turned into an exclusive private business venture for anyone, especially the money and power grubbing Jamestown Indian Tribal government~! Like the worst kinds of thieves, the Jamestown tribal government is constantly looking for any valuable land & property to steal, especially by using our own governments & taxpayer dollars against us, so they can add to their tribal portfolio of real estate as they push good folks out of the community and continue to ruthlessly control & dominate those who remain~! Additionally, we should take specific note of the fact that immediately after the government announced that they were considering selling The John Wayne Marina property, not only the Jamestown tribal government but the shady property developers who have been pushing to develop that same immediate area into high end luxury properties, came out from under their rocks to announce their completely unwanted projects~! Those who believe that all happened at the same time "coincidently" should seek mental because help, because the odds that "we" were/are witnessing yet another closed-door criminal conspiracy against the majority of the wishes and best interests of the folks in our community are nearly 100%~! These criminals who constantly work through their closed-door meeting conspiracies at some point MUST start to reveal their evil plots, as an instrumental part of their criminal process, so all "we" (the good folks of our community) really need to do is to work on our memory capabilities to be able to put things together better~! To be able to see the "big picture"~! The criminal law system does not believe in "coincidences" so nether should we, ESPECIALLY because these crooks in government always shove their preconceived plans down our throats telling us that they were not planned WAY ahead of time~! Ha~! The criminals in government always plan years and even decades ahead of time, all while they do their best to trick us into believing that they don't~!
Have a great funday Sunday and thanks again for your great question~!
SEQUIM — The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is exploring the purchase of John Wayne Marina from the Port of Port Angeles — if other options do not work out — Tribal Chairman Ron Allen said Thursday.
The tribe now is working with the city of Sequim on a joint proposal to run the public, 300-slip facility under city ownership.
Under the joint city-tribe proposal, the port would transfer the marina to the city “at no or very low cost,” according to an April 23, 2018, City Council resolution, and the tribe would manage it.
“IF WE DISCOVER THAT IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO WORK WITH SEQUIM OR THE PROPOSAL DOES NOT WORK FOR US, WE MAY TAKE A HARD LOOK AT ACQUISTION BY OURSELVES” ALLEN (RON) SAID"
I was living in the Marina when 'they' tried to sell the Marina...the Port was and still is heavily influenced by Colleen McAleer...I attended propaganda meetings and I and a few others confronted them on their Hegelian Dialectic and Delphi Techniques...I submitted a scathing article to the PDN about the blatant attempt to hijack and sell off the only asset the Port possesses that consistently turns a profit.
The online article was 'disappeared' and they backed way off, I don't know how much my 'outing' them had to do with it, but they NEVER stopped scheming for a minute...it's no surprise that JKT has dibs on the property...the whole uplands development was already part of the plan but I don't think they had a specific developer in mind.
The people of Washington voted for the Parents Rights in Schools bill and the very next year the legislature gutted it...this is a shit-show as bad as anywhere else...'little commie-fornia' has arrived!😎
I have no idea why that jerk Ron Allen and the Jamestown tribal government clown show believes that they should screw around with OUR beloved John Wayne Marina, except that they are attempting to steal that treasure from the community as they have a history of stealing SO many other things from SO many other people (including other Americans Indians). These criminals in the Jamestown tribal government really are sucking around for trouble and my guess is that they will find it sooner or later~! Hopefully these criminals will soon see that the old corrupt system that they are accustomed to taking advantage of is already on the way out into the garbage can of history, before they tangle with the real Constitutional common law system that is already coming into control. We may have to get together to hit these criminals with lawsuits if they persist with their greedy outrages against our community and maybe we will start to sue them to take back some of their currently owned properties that they have extorted and bullied from others over the years~? If they want a fight, they will get one and sometimes that is what it takes to defeat these kinds of criminals~! ;-) Have a mellow Sunday evening and stay safe~! Sincerely, Mike
So after sharing our personal experience in Pacific Beach, Wa of Casey Roloffs development of Seabrook, his presentations to locals were sugar coated crap. Now are you saying that the property of the John Wayne estate (Ethan Wayne) that Roloff had the option to buy and turn into another
“Stepford by the Sea”,
Is really the Tribe that has put a halt to the development because they want that property? OMG which is worse? A sleaze bag developer, money and lies are no object. Or the tribe taking more land off the tax rolls. Two + or minus years ago they said (tribe) they were too involved in other projects to develop at
John Wayne, and weren’t interested.
Casey Roloff said that the JW estate begged him to purchase the land over 10 years ago. He stated that he was too busy then to get involved. Seabrook has just started its next phase of building 1300 stand alone units (houses) including crossing a salmon protected area “JOE CREEK”. I wrote to them (John Wayne) enterprises to get information (twice) with zero response.
Somewhere I read the county was in a law suit regarding permits for the above .
Does anyone have info on that topic? I could not find any permits for “Westbay Development “ or Roloff.
As far as I know, your description of past efforts to "steal" the JW Marina is generally correct in that it would appear that TWO separate "proposed buyers" of the John Wayne Marina have expressed interest in owning OUR (the communities) cherished marina property. We would have to read the original "gift document" to the government to see if there are any legal contractual restrictions, covenants, and/or conditions (restrictions) of that conveyance. I don't know for sure, especially in this specific case, however I have always understood that such a "donated property" was by agreement NOT to ever be sold or transferred to any other owner (especially for commercial purposes). Real estate contract law is quite flexible however, so the actual contract that "gifted" the property to the government needs to be analyzed and then county and state laws regarding a donated property need to be understood in order to get a clear picture of what can be done legally... I am of the personal opinion that once real estate is "donated" to the government, that the subject property MUST stay within that government's portfolio of real estate in perpetuity. I also understand that should a government attempt to sell/transfer such gifted/donated real estate in violation of any contractual agreement prohibiting it, that the remedy is usually the return (forfeiture) of that real estate to the donating party (The John Wayne Family in this case). Of course, if that were to happen the John Wayne family (Eathan Wayne?) could in fact develop and/or sell the property to any interested party for any legal purpose. I have absolutely no clue what the wishes of the John Wayne Family are at this point but thank you for attempting to get information from them. Could it be that the potential developer AND the Jamestown tribal government are in some way working together to acquire the JW Marina and this is all a "good cop VS bad cop" game~? That sure would not be the first time that the general public was played for fools by such a conspiracy before~! All that said, I am confident that "we" (the good folks of Clallam County) can and should come together to fight any transfer or sale of OUR John Wayne Marina, to force the government into remaining to be the caretaker of OUR communities' treasure~! With the way that our governments here burn money on SO many insane projects, there is absolutely no financial excuse to sell our beloved John Wayne Marina~! I am sure that you can especially appreciate the HUGE costs of docking boats, so there is a substantial income that the government receives from managing the JW Marina as it currently is, I believe that the marina could also be expanded to be an even more profitable and vital concern, which is of course exactly why there are others who want to steal it from (us) the government~! If we needed to engage in legal action/s, so be it, even though our judicial system is FAR from trustworthy. The good folks of Clallam County do actually have tremendous power and if "we" come together we can take control of our community. It would be right to keep and reward the few good folks that we have in government, however sooner or later we will need to purge our government of these scumbags who are methodically destroying our community with their greed and underhanded agendas~! The John Wayne Marina may be the "trigger" that FINALLY pulls our community together to flush this overflowing toilet of criminals in our government & community into the septic system of history as a warning to all future people NOT to violate the public safety, trust, and OUR cherished properties... I am definitely not against "progress" however all too often Americans have been betrayed by those who have absolutely no intentions of promoting common sense POSITIVE progress and we need to stop the greedy clowns from robbing us blind and depriving future generations of their beautiful inheritance... Sincerely, Mike
In PA checkerboard chunks of fully functional traditional homes, most likely built with local lumber and hands in the early 1900's, are to be designated as "High density" and "for redevelopment" under the new zoning. It makes no sense to carve out sections that take me less than 3 minutes to walk to be exempt from the high density fate while other perfectly good single family homes are being targeted for elimination. If I had the time, I would research the ownership on the tax roles to see who got their carve out from density. If you own property in Cherry Hill, hospital/tree park area, or Pine Hill I urge you to study the future plan maps on the various comprehensive update docs (they don't all seem to agree internally either) and how it may impact your property. Also Valley Creek area owners should stay aware of the Green link Port Angeles plan long in the works https://futurewise.org/local-program/greenlink-port-angeles/
Nice work trying to keep up with the unfolding crime spree that is the City of Port Angeles my friend~! The criminals and thieves in government there really are something else. Over the past 15 years or so I have run into several extremely disturbing stories of terrible corruption in Port Angeles from the top all the way down and into the police department and court system. I have to wonder if the criminals in the government there have been "paid off" to follow the evil "15-minute cities" criminal depopulation plot/agenda? I would be voting for Mimi Smith Devorak if I lived in Port Angeles and I have heard some good things about James Taylor as well. Our election system in Washington state is completely corrupt and obviously rigged and it has been for many decades, so God willing that will be addressed ASAP~! With any luck, President Trump and the white hats will keep up the pressure against the rogue EPA and other criminal agencies, so that the funding can be terminated to render them inoperative. The current government DOGE investigations and federal shutdown & related layoffs are doing a great job thus far...Our own taxpayer funds have been used to attack all of us for many decades, and that has to stop~! Personally, I have a deep appreciation for old construction because of the historic value, so these scumbag socialists/communists/Marxists and Satanists will hopefully be eliminated from our community and imprisoned for the crimes that they have been committing. God willing these evil scumbags who played roles in the COVID & deadly vaccine mass murder genocide will be prosecuted in US Military Tribunals very soon as well! Treason and crimes against humanity can be easily remedied by executions, so there will be quite a few criminals in our community that will be in DEEP trouble in the not-so-distant future~! Let's keep an eye on these criminals of humanity because together we really do have all of the power and we will get our time to purge these evil underhanded scumbags in due time~!
You must certainly have seen this somewhere even multiple times. So why, then, is it not registering? Is there or is there not a depopulation movement?
Like it or not, “the business of man is man.” Do I need to add the caveat that it’s non gender specific? We are in evil times, so I do.
God gave us through Moses and the tablets “The Ten Commandments” for our personal behavior. “Love thy neighbor as thyself” is shorthand for a portion. It has gone totally missing in what we are now witnessing.
God also gave three more commands, which apply to a tribe or nation but not individuals: be fruitful and multiply; replenish the earth; subdue the earth. Obviously, individuals are involved and a few like farmers, ranchers, loggers, and fishermen (any others?) might do all three. Some people can’t do any and that’s how it should be, but we all can contribute something if we refuse to let others stop us. I am also thinking of one task, especially, that some like those with blue hair and a nose ring should not do for the benefit of the nation.
God knows how many souls he has and how many have still not been “born of woman” before he cashes in. He won’t allow man, non gender specific again, to destroy his earth in the interim.
Wake up! The climate crap is only crap, carbon credits, “resiliency,” all of it, crap. Fight it! It’s satanic. You are a child of God!
C. S. Lewis informed us, “You don’t have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body.” God owns all souls, and your body will soon be useless. No need to soil yourself with the lies swarming all around.
The old con - watch over here, look up. The CO2 in the atmosphere is an existential threat. But don’t look in your community or your home or your kids’ school, you are saving the planet.
I am certain we are being played by people with evil intentions. They are against nuclear while claiming we face an “existential threat” from man-made CO2 caused global warming.
The “global warming” lie and the “energy shortage” lie are the rationale and thumbscrews to force Americans to accept and endure higher exhaled CO2 in tighter poorly ventilated homes, schools, offices, etc.. Keep looking up while the real problem is in your noses, lungs, and blood. They won’t address the harm this is causing. In fact, they deny any harm and manufacture phony reasons to try to explain away the harm.
Nor will they examine whether tighter buildings are a false savings. In my piece about the evil CDC, I explain how it causes more not less energy use. (And I have more reasons now).
Perhaps the crown jewel is “peer review,” which was implemented at the same time global warming and energy lies were invented and tighter buildings were required. It is ‘prior to publication’ censorship designed to keep their lies from being exposed and you from learning the truth.
There are no “greenhouse gases” because earth is not a greenhouse. No gas makes a greenhouse warm unless it’s the propane in the heaters, otherwise it’s the greenhouse GLASS that can make a greenhouse warm. No gas has the properties of that glass, nor does the earth.
It’s the solid nature of glass and rigidity of the glass walls and roof that keeps the wind, snow, rain, etc. out while allowing light to pass through but blocking infrared radiation, IR, from escaping to the atmosphere.
The earth has no rigid walls like a greenhouse. The atmosphere expands and contracts. Wind, snow, etc. can pass through CO2 molecules in the atmosphere, even more easily when the air expands with warming.
Three bands representing about 15% of the IR spectrum are involved when talking about CO2 versus 100% for glass. It is claimed that the CO2 absorbs the IR electromagnetic radiation in the 3 bands. These are the wavelengths or frequencies at which the carbon-oxygen bonds in CO2 resonate, are excited. Excitation suggests motion. Motion is not heat. What would be the source of friction within the CO2 molecule to generate heat and radiate IR?
“Greenhouse gas” is a corruption of language, the kind the left is famous for. “Atmospheric rivers” and “King tides” are two more of late. Then there’s the old standby, “gun violence.” Again, there are no such things. They are concocted to deceive, panic, and stampede.
The earth was once super hot (estimated at 3,680 degrees Fahrenheit) and the air was mostly CO2 (all the carbon had been burned, incinerated, cremated, oxidized into CO2). If CO2 causes warming, the earth could not have cooled, ever.
The temperature portion of the laws for the solubility of a gas in a liquid tells us that warming is the cause of the rise in CO2 in the air. Anyone who has opened a carbonated beverage container has witnessed CO2 bubbles escaping as the liquid warms. Every ocean, lake, pond, river, swamp, bog, bit of moist earth has its own source of CO2, some of which will be released with warming. If CO2 really caused warming, there would be a positive feedback loop leading to catastrophe. It’s never happened before and never will. CO2 does not cause warming.
Remember “global warming” is really not about warming. It’s about slower cooling. If CO2 works as claimed, it cannot cause warming in a cooling period, and it could only boost temperatures if in a warming period.
And, if CO2 works as claimed, it seems there is an easy way to test that. Look for a change in the rate of cooling. Higher temperatures do not provide proof. However, if the difference between day time high temperatures and night time low temperatures were to decrease, that could be a strong argument supporting CO2 as an agent causing warming.
Why haven’t we seen such data? Must be it doesn’t help the cause of man-made CO2 caused “global warming.”
Spring is probably best for research as the daily variations in temperature are greatest.
It would demand a lot of data. In addition, looking at the change after one hour, two hours, etc. could be informative as it may minimize the impact of changes in the weather, a new system moving in. Avoid “heat islands” and other unnatural conditions.
True Elites are always in favor of depopulation. like Rockefeller funded euthanasia today Gates funding population control .The Earth isn't sitting stationary in space it's moving through space effected by the sun that has gone through many cycles.Where we are right now at one time was under ice now we are going into a warming trend again which is a good thing because the melting of the ice caps will create more farm land that are deserts right now like in Australia ,Africa .The weather will be less cold so more people can live in places like northern Alaska ,Canada other places giving the population more space to live .
We are in a natural cycle of global warming that started at the end of the last ice age. Even writing global warming makes me seem like a liar buying in to it.
Just like “Carbon Credits”
“Wetland Mitigation”
and more. It’s not real science if it can’t be reproduced or show an outcome. Oh, the outcome is money changing hands for permits to destroy sensitive areas. As if all weren’t sensitive.
Global warming, if we all die tomorrow the planet will continue to melt icecaps.
Don, I was going to ask someone to give me a "CO2 for dummies" explanation. I'm lost with all the carbon credit stuff and tried to do some research. You have certainly covered it Thank You!
Thank you, Jake, for being a guest contributor and informing us of deeper details. You, Jeff, and John W. are tirelessly volunteering to save our County. That is why some commenters try to challenge you by pointing out "inconsistencies" in your articles. But they are no match for any of you and all of the other great commenters who share their research on this site. A debt of gratitude by hopeful hearts.
The sign should say save the forests for burning up..
Them charred microbes save our butt..
They always have slogans that never hold water. Wildfires are great for rivers and lakes because of charred microbes.. but logging isn't.
The fart smellers rubbing their beards and pushing in their glass talk about how carbon from fire is as necessary as limestone and the river system is part of a mandatory cycle in a 4.5 billion year process.
Then they go into the men's room and fog the mirror to draw up the real plan to save the planet with wildfire smoke and carbon going downstream into the ocean and rained back down to create what is supposed to be created.... like Orc's being hatched in the rain forest or something.
Whatever, their doom and gloom for forest management is doesn't prevent that cycle from taking place.
Who knows with these people they always erase the mirror before they leave the men's room.
All they really do is get power with environmental issues.
As a tree hugger and nature lover who followed the laws of this nation to earn and acquire my private property which I intend to steward for MY descendants, I am deeply concerned about the relationships between area conservation organizations and the land back movement in WA. What is the end game for law abiding Americans and their private property in Clallam? Any recovered former addict would likely agree with C.S. Lewis- "You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending. "
No, I don't have any idea exactly where "my ancestors walked." They may have informed who I am but they are not WHO I AM today. My maternal side were Huguenots, Romani and a mix of I don't know what else. My father was a part German racist whose Norwegian great grandfather jumped from a ship anchored in the Gulf of Mexico and swam ashore in Texas to become American. The bitter irony did not escape me that my father used disparaging names for Mexicans who swam across a river for a chance in America. As a young service industry worker in Texas in pre-internet times I felt an obligation to protect my immigrant coworkers who vanished from the job when word got out on the streets that La Migra was in town, in part because of the sins of my father. But I don't believe I am a "guest" here in my home I legally purchased under US and Washington law, and I am increasingly concerned about the various efforts to take said home from me by tax or title.
We are not so far from BC, and all connected by the Salish sea. Could what is happening in BC be foreshadowing our future?
On that note, I hope some of you with greater understanding of real estate and development law will PLEASE HELP and read through the various lengthy, confusing, sometimes contradictory Port Angeles Comprehensive Plan Update documents and make public comment https://www.cityofpa.us/937/Vision-2045-Comprehensive-Plan-Periodic-
Susie, thank you for this research. This is troubling.
The Comprehensive Plans are constantly being updated through "public process" that no one from the public seems to know about. We definitely need engaged citizens to dig into the county and city public plans to see what is being pushed through behind the scenes.
We're not being represented.
Thank you for your comment, MK. Well said.
I appreciated your public comment requesting a seat at the commissioners' table, Denise.
I'll keep nagging until they do, Jake.
Denise, I think you are my choice for commissioner
Billy T Wilson I would like to watch Denise Lapio face a tougher opponent.
Yet tribal funds devoted to yard signs will probably not favor our favorite candidate credited above.
I think your frank language is very appealing. The goal is to reduce the number of tax payers. The mob that pays no taxes always supports the expansion of government candy.
PLEASE "lift just a finger", vote, chase these scammers out of office. Just a finger... All it takes.
I think that the best fingers we have is to get the word out via CCWD with our neighbors, friends, and people out and about.
My neighbors think I am crazy to think somethiing could be wrong... Go Kamala...
We ARE being bamboozled and befoozled and sidelined or 'benched' while the powers that be have their way with us.
Good thing we are peaceful, law-abiding, passive citizens who would never dare to rise-up and risk, to face evil.
Are we chickens...or Chicken Hawks!?😊
People were vicious rejecting my negative
but truthful “follow the money “
based on facts.
CC needs first. Good point, Billy.
"Too many pigs and not enough tits"? When Jeff's father was a little boy, the area was mostly covered with farms and very few housing subdivisions, yet I bet the average wage earner could afford to live here then. For the last half decade, I have watched an army of petty criminals moving here.
When Dad graduated ('55) and mom graduated ('61) there were 125 dairy farms. There were 3 when I graduated in '98. Now there's 1.
Thanks Jeff Tozzer for providing that statistic. IMO that does not sound like an improvement.
Though that is a large discrepancy in ages between mom and dad.
You must have interesting perspectives. I grew up in a large city yet I desired a small town for a proper existence.
Yes, silly us, that's the strategy our Kommissars are working.
That is adorable, thinking our commissioners are working on something. Stay as nice as you are.
At this very moment government officials are working overtime in order to improve our living conditions. I certainly feel silly.
John, that Goldfinger reference is an excellent parallel.
When I read the name Brel Froebe I thought of the film Goldfinger because the evil mastermind was played by Gert Frobe.
Good point, TJ.
Huge red flag when CCA used California's model as an example.
Its my understanding that Washington, California, a Canadian privince are joining their carbon markets together...what could possibly go wrong with that? Three entities that are fiscally mismanaged to force-sell credits for environmental wacko purposes...and supporting NGOs with no accountability for money use.
This is so typical. Just like wetland mitigation. Throw enough money at it and any property can be developed. After all it’s mitigated!
Kids, stay in school.
I follow the flubber and magic beans...
A push-me pull-you, in a pinch.
Kudos and thank you :-)
Thank you for the encouraging words, Cyndy. It is engaged citizens like you who will bring change to our county.
Cyndy R, I was so welcomed as a new follower. Here's a toast to you! clink
"clink" back to you :-)
As a long time follower my heart is lifted when new followers take the time to comment. Thank you.
Cllallam county needs leaders who will at least try to think. A half ounce of common sense is more than we have now!
As a half-wit, dim-wit, or nit-wit, I concur!

I'm waiting for this part of their genuflection:
"SHARING WITH US their principles of reciprocity..."
I wonder what the reciprocity is? Winning elections? Being financed?
Follow the 'peer reviewed' 'science'!
Nice how they wrap real science in socialist propaganda, (propagate an agenda).😎
To bolster the ineffective claim.
"Critics say Washington’s climate policies raise gas prices while delivering too few environmental gains. The Seattle Times editorial board argues less than 14% of carbon auction revenue directly reduces emissions."
https://washingtonstatestandard.com/2025/10/04/attacking-the-science-wa-ecology-director-slams-trumps-climate-policies/
------------------------------------------------------
And the state agencies are being sued for failure to release climate data.

If you believe that is not the answer,
you slept through science class.
Hello wonderful Patriot Jennifer~!
Sincerely, Mike
Michael, I do remember reading this, are they trying to come in through the back door?
Peninsula Daily news May 10, 2019: Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe eyes marina on Sequim Bay
https://www.peninsuladailynews.com/news/jamestown-sklallam-tribe-eyes-marina-on-sequim-bay/
Yes, excellent job Jennifer~!
Good morning, Patriot Susan C Bonallo~!
Hello, Patriot Susan Blake~!
Sincerely, Mike
If you have Rayonier stock tell them to stop caving in and selling your land to the carbon tax scam and Meta !
Carbon is life ! You are the carbon they (anti humans) are trying to get rid of!
Well said Randy!
“We are the carbon they want to reduce “

You had me at, "We are the carbon they want to reduce."
Don, now what do we do with the methane and bunny farts? LOL
Again thank you Jake. All this stuff would be Greek to me if not for you.
Your comment made my day, Kristin(:

Susie, thank you for this research. This is troubling.
The Comprehensive Plans are constantly being updated through "public process" that no one from the public seems to know about. We definitely need engaged citizens to dig into the county and city public plans to see what is being pushed through behind the scenes.
