It appears sequim & port angeles have a problem with elected officials being compromised-influenced ect ect ect with their decisions. This problem points out the fact these officials seeking advice do not have the skills to properly do their jobs.Local ethnic groups-outside environmental groups plus others trying to benefit from counties by controlling elected officials should be a big red flag to residents.Brain washed elected officials will pass the buck $$$ onto the taxpayers for the unneeded extras. It may cost just as much to live in clallam co as california if ignorants keep getting elected.

If you want to get a taste of the influence an "external force" has on the Sequim City Council watch this special meeting in its entirety. What's striking is how much Harmony Rutter and Rachel Anderson (if I recall correctly) apologize time and time again about their concerns for doing the right thing in the face of "who or what" that was driving the issue. Are they too beholden to the external handlers of how the City of Sequim operates?

That's my point. Whose toes are they stepping on? They were SGGL backed candidates. Were they concerned that they were going against what their handlers told them to do?

The plandemic was a great tool to generate fear of the unknown, and division to accommodate a regime that has been infiltrating our governance for at least three generations. I find it quite fascinating that conspiracy theorist theories become fact after all the smoke clears and people come up for a breath of fresh air. Oh, what a tangled web they weave... Very True Patriot Jim Randall~!

We here would gladfully sign a recall petition for the criminals in the county government, and if we can also sign a Sequim City recall petition for the criminals there to be removed there, we surely will~! I am unclear about being able to sign a Sequim City recall petition because we live just outside of the city limits of Sequim in the County... We do know a LOT of others who would also sign recall petitions as well~! Have a great Easter Sunday (or Sunday if you prefer ;-)

Cheers~!

I can't stop washing my hands after reading this. What a slimy group of special interest people running the city of Sequim. If there ever was a reason to recall an elected official, this is it. The people of Sequim deserve better than this and I hope that someone who is a citizen of Sequim starts a recall petition. If not, you will forever be ruled by a puppet mayor doing whatever his special interest handlers want him to do. Wow, just wow!

I live in Sequim and I’m willing. What’s needed is a lawyer familiar with the process to draft the petition then an organization to get signatures and submit it to the appropriate authority. I think Jannise would be a test case or feasibility study. Bigger fish would be Ozias. How about some names?

I think you start with an exploratory group of Sequim citizens who have standing to initiate the process. See what you have, review the RCW, and then decide if you need an attorney to proceed. If the first step is to get an attorney you might be putting the cart before the horse so to speak. If your exploratory group thinks that it wants to move forward you may need funds for an attorney but at that time you may have assessed the support you have better, and the financial means after consulting with possible attorneys.

I read this article twice, the second time I listed names and drew arrows of contacts made. Too many arrows kept going back to Dale Jarvis.

What caught my attention the most was when Lindsey Schmel stated the "he really needs to be investigated....what kind of culture and challenges are internal" then Dale Jarvis advised the Sequim Mayor "you do NOT need to trigger a sexual harassment investigation"....Problem solved by Dale Jarvis! Who is he again? Board member of Sequim GOOD Governance League?

I was so overcome by the massive concern for how special interests control the citizens of Sequim that I glossed over that. You are correct about the sexual harassment concern/claim. That someone without appropriate training, or position, suggests an action that is contrary to the best interests of the city is a hard pill to swallow. I wonder whether Sequim's legal team is feeling queasy right now. The mayor may have opened the city up to a massive liability by not conducting an investigation feels like it is malpractice of office. For Jarvis to suggest no need to investigate somehow suggests that he also controls Huish and if replaced would have to double efforts to control the next person. Huish needs to be replaced just on the facts alone in the comment, that he would take city money to silence a complaint against him. I can't believe what a cluster the City of Sequim is. Glad that I don't live in it. I can't imagine how this is sitting with the citizens.

Investigations are conducted to bring facts to the surface so that informed decisions can be made, and risk assessed. Without it one can always claim that an issue was one way because that's the appearance it had, when in fact it may be bogus.

When I first moved to Clallam County (1993) I was not welcomed because I was from California. I had many, many incidents to remind me that I should "go back". I was told that outside influences would ruin the area.

I watched as Sequim built their retirement villages, and Bell Hill turned into a McMansion enclave, the farmland became suburbs, the bypass went through, the loggers left when the mills shut down. Big box stores moved in where a dairy farm had been. The locals began to be outnumbered by the transplants.

The personality of the area suddenly had a whole different, and absolutely alien agenda.

And yeah, I see why I wasn't welcomed.

They were right!!

I am sure there are local influences on the City of Sequim, but watch the Friday water Czar meeting and you will see who makes all the decisions. NODC and SERN... NOLT and their Physician running their LLC who showed up but did not make public comment, once he found out there was no intention to create a Czar position with authority, but to be a "clearing house" for information to hand over to the "others", he left.

Jarvis is merely the SS division of the Democratic party. He makes sure the candidate knows they will run somebody against them if they do not follow the NODC and SERN/NOLT plan.

Is this the same old joke council, or a new one? Is the mayor not smart enough to know everything he writes becomes public record, or does he just not care? Or maybe he think it's okay for an outside political group to be influencing his decisions and writing city policy? Either way, he shouldn't be running the city and needs to go.

A very important article you have written, Jeff. There are too many questionable tactics being used to influence Mayor Janisse. He clearly is over his head and should have never been elected to any position. Too many of the same people doing too many of the same actions. What a waste of resources. Sequim, and consequentially CC, will never improve with the same failing people using the same failing playbook. Happy Easter to all!

I first became aware of who Brandon Janisse when the MAT lab was protested. He never said anything, only sat, giving me the impression that he was some sort of doofus completely out of his element. Reading Jeff's exposé here only reinforces that.

I also became aware of SGGL when I had a Facebook account, and posted something opposing the MAT Lab. It was then that I realized SGGL was aligned with Timothy Wheeler, the local avowed Communist, as they absolutely attacked me for my opposition, with a flurry of name-calling and, possibly, banishment from the discussion group. The impression I formed at that time was the SGGL are a bunch of Marxists trying to turn our peninsula Communist, with totalitarian edicts and positions.

Brandon Janisse appears to be a puppet-- much like Biden-- controlled by outside forces against the community's best interests.....unless you're a Communist and want a totalitarian local government (more so than it already is).

Happy Easter to you all.

Where is the city attorney when the council is discussing these issues?

This is why a strict code of ethics is necessary -- although there is nothing in the county charter to stop city councils from suspending and abolishing their city codes of ethics (as Port Angeles did). MRSC (the advising body for all local/county government) has a nice page of examples of what should be in a code of ethics: https://mrsc.org/explore-topics/personnel/ethics/codes-of-ethics

I like Brandon. From what I know about him, he is a good man. He is also in over his head. Mayor Armacost is also a good man. His first interest was for the people of Sequim. He could not be "managed" however. Thus, SGGL was formed as the plaything of Mr. Jurvis to get rid of him through the politics of personal destruction. Then a more conformable person could be installed in his place. Let us not forget that Jamestown is heavily involved in the money it provides to fuel the machine.

It was immediate after his council seat he was embraced by SGGL & Tim Wheeler & special interest groups. Brandon can’t make a move on his own without Christine’s (City Attorney) advice & counsel.
