LIVING BEYOND MY MEANS, BEYOND YOUR MEANS, AND BEYOND RATIONAL COMPREHENSION The curb appeal of Permanent Supportive Housing
$842,105 for an Apartment in Sequim
When Mike French says he is bringing affordable housing to Sequim, this is what he means: bulldoze 17 apartment units, build 36, spend $16 million—mostly taxpayer money—and call it progress. Net gain: 19 units. Average cost: $842,105 per apartment. Permanent supportive housing for the homeless...typically 3–5 bedrooms, 2,100–3,200 square feet, often single-level living, 3–4 baths, half an acre to an acre, frequently with mountain or water views.
Have we all lost our minds? If you work, or your spouse works, and suddenly become disabled either mentally or physically, you would never get these kinds of luxury benefits. Perhaps you could apply for a wheelchair ramp to your front door, but to get the ‘full monty’ and live better than where you presently live, you’d have to become a monetarily unproductive member of society.
Come on Mike French, build within our means, supply help within our means, not what is beyond rational, basic and affordable support care.
(33) "Permanent supportive housing" is subsidized, leased housing with NO LIMIT ON LENGTH OF STAY that PRIORITIZES people who need comprehensive support services to retain tenancy and utilizes admissions practices designed to use lower barriers to entry than would be typical for other subsidized or unsubsidized rental housing, especially related to rental history, criminal history, and personal behaviors. Permanent supportive housing is paired with on-site or off-site voluntary services designed to support a person living with a complex and disabling behavioral health or physical health condition who was experiencing homelessness or was at imminent risk of homelessness prior to moving into housing to retain their housing and be a successful tenant in a housing arrangement, improve the resident's health status, and connect the resident of the housing with community-based health care, treatment, or employment services. Permanent supportive housing is subject to all of the rights and responsibilities defined in chapter 59.18 RCW.

Homelessness is created by clallam county government, they don't want to help the workers here, they continue to support addicts through harm reduction..what a joke!
