The commissioners did not respond to yesterday's email asking what their response would be to a constituent who doesn't feel they are sufficiently represented in land use, taxation, and public policy issues at the county level. Here is today's email sent to the League of Women Voters at info@lwvcla.org.

Dear League of Women Voters,

It appears that two of your members may have used positions of authority to coerce a minor into targeting a political rival. I am seeking clarification on your organization’s role and policies in situations like this.

What role, if any, does your organization play in encouraging or facilitating student involvement in political or advocacy-related activities within local schools?

What safeguards are in place to ensure minors are not influenced or directed by adults in ways that could be considered coercive or inappropriate?

Are there internal guidelines or policies that define the boundary between civic education and political advocacy, particularly when it involves students?

If members of your organization are found to have crossed those boundaries, what accountability measures are in place?

I would appreciate any clarification you can provide on these matters.

So grateful we are able to have a clearer & better understanding of behind the scenes. It is difficult to express in words & defend yourself when you have been attacked so I’m sure this was a very difficult article to pen. However a very educational one for all to be aware of and further substantiates the player role positions. Many of us have been in the sandbox with these liars & bullies over the last 10 years & no doubt they are playing to win at all costs. Stooping low using Innocent children to carry out their dastardly deeds. Knowing Rebecca is this child’s mother explains so very much. 😔

They must be very afraid of you and what you have started Jeff!

Using the old “list of Rhetorical Fallacies” to try to create a smear campaign against you!

“When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser”.

That's a great quote! I wish I had used it for the article.

keep up the good work Jeff!

You got it Elizabeth :)

Jeff Tozzer I can't imagine the stress you must have endured because of your mother's important position on the school board. I bet that you never received a D grade in high school.

Jeff Tozzer might not even know his family investigated the murder of my great grandmother's murder she was half Chemakum her father was murdered in the massacre according to what I read?

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

I just learned that! Yes, my great, great, great uncle was the Port Townsend Sheriff.

Evrita Romero's avatar

This is horrible on so many levels, Fitch and her cohorts need to be ousted! I am sick and tired of the fear, smear and hate tactics directed at Mr. Tozzer and other CC

Watchdoggers. You bet they are afraid of us because sooner or later they’re not gonna be able to continue with their rhetoric and their graft and their bully tactics. If it hadn’t been for Mr. Tozzer, we would never know about anything that was going on behind the doors at Clallam county commissioners meetings. They all need to be publicly exposed on a regular basis to keep them in check and voted out. Just my two cents.

What you said ⬆️

You forgot to mention that from 2015-2025 - 7 kids JUST AT THE HIGHSCHOOL were either sexually harassed or teachers had sex with them. You wouldn’t know that because the gazette and pdn REFUSED to report on it.

They'll shout "Epstein" (rightfully from the perspective of the victims), but circle the wagons locally.

Another shining example of the controlling national politics that allow this kind of local control unwilling to hold themselves accountable.

Wedge needed ...

Vote for Jake

We don't need national politics locally, we need local problems decided by locals.

Steve O.'s avatar

IMO I feel like all politics should be local. States send money to Washington DC and it is digested and a small portion is returned. Why?

Steve O.'s avatar

Shennaigans the data might be missing a much higher number.

It is and if you look back even further it doesn’t get better

Great balls of fire!

I will stand behind & beside you Jeff.

Keep being truthful and forthright!

When we “do” what is right and just…

Thank you for protecting my grandkids.💥

True grit & bravery to stand for change, demand change and act on it.

I am eagerly awaiting responses.

thank you Jeff.

Jeff's family is impressive. I love to hear about family histories but more when they are agrarian. I have always been drawn to a rural farm existence.

I remember the charter review meeting you are referring to. I was at first pleased with having a young person, seemingly engaged in local politics, and well-presented speech. After listening to the complete presentation, which was really a personal attack on one Charter Review Commissioner, I asked the individual to provide some background on the specifics of comments made and was interrupted by the adult accompanying the individual. I was told to address my questions to the adult, and the young person was not going to engage in conversation. Seemed like a rehearsed set up. What I originally thought might be a glimpse into bright minded civic engagement turned into programed manipulation.

My jaw hit the floor when I watched this. I couldn't help but feel like the person speaking was put up to it which given the manipulative tactics being used to control you and the commission wasn't surprising from the control standpoint.

***AI***

Research on the influence of authority figures (like teachers) on high school students centers on a concept called **Social Power** and the **Imbalance of Knowledge**. While peer influence is driven by the *reward* system, influence from adults in positions of power is often driven by **informational** and **referent** influence.

Here is how the research breaks down the susceptibility of high schoolers to those in positions of authority:

## 1. The "Credibility Bias" and Intellectual Humility

Studies in educational psychology show that adolescents often operate under a "credibility bias." Because the prefrontal cortex is still developing its capacity for **epistemic vigilance** (the ability to critically evaluate the source of information), students tend to default to the "Expert Heuristic."

* **The Finding:** If an adult is perceived as an expert (a teacher) or a moral authority (a coach/mentor), the student's brain often bypasses the "fact-checking" phase and moves straight to "integration."

* **The Result:** The student adopts the adult's viewpoint not because they've been convinced by logic, but because their brain categorizes the information as "vetted truth."

## 2. Power Dynamics and "Compliance vs. Internalization"

Research by social psychologist **Herbert Kelman** identified three stages of influence. For high schoolers interacting with teachers, the lines between these stages often blur:

* **Compliance:** The student adopts a view to get a good grade or avoid friction.

* **Identification:** The student adopts the view because they like the teacher and want to be like them (**Referent Power**).

* **Internalization:** The student forgets the teacher was the source of the idea and begins to believe the idea was their own original thought.

## 3. The "Hidden Curriculum" and Priming

Political scientists often study the **"Hidden Curriculum"**—the subtle, non-explicit ways teachers project values.

* **Framing:** Research suggests that teachers don't have to tell students *what* to think to influence them; they only need to choose *which* topics to discuss. By framing a political issue through a specific lens, they "prime" the student to reach a predetermined conclusion.

* **The "Social Norm" Effect:** If a teacher creates a classroom environment where only one political view is treated as "compassionate" or "intelligent," high schoolers—who are biologically wired to avoid social exclusion—will often subconsciously align their views to avoid being the "outlier" in the room.

## 4. Longitudinal Impact: The "Impressionable Years" Hypothesis

There is a significant body of research (Sears, 1983) called the **"Impressionable Years" Hypothesis**. It suggests that political orientations are highly fluid between the ages of 15 and 25 and then "crystallize" as we age.

* **Evidence:** Adults in influence positions during these specific years have a disproportionate impact on a person's lifelong political identity compared to any other age group.

* **The "Recency" Effect:** Because high schoolers have less "prior knowledge" to compare new information against, the information provided by an influential adult feels more weighty and "correct" than it would to an older adult with a lifetime of experience.

MK those are very interesting points and a huge amount of data to assimilate. When I was a small boy once fooled I believed no adult ever again. At one time I was told that on Christmas evening a rotund man would crawl down our chimney and instead of burglarizing the house leave presents.

Steve O.'s avatar

What would be their news source?

Denise Lapio's avatar

Jeff, I was there at that last meeting. While I agree that children speaking publicly for their views is a good experience, I couldn't help but question what I was hearing. Yes, the student did make insinuations against you that should not have been voiced without proof. As a judge and defense lawyer, Susan Fisch knows this and should have cautioned the student to avoid saying it. Quillayute Valley School District is having serious problems on multiple levels, which has so far lead to a $250,000 judgment against QVSD. You know that same stuff is going on in Sequim. I'm glad you are bringing this to our attention, because you deserve an apology, Jeff, and the whole of CC deserves to be informed about our schools. It's an ugly mess people.

LVW, A QUIET INVASION OF YOUTHFUL MINDS

LVW - Civic Education for Washington State https://lwvwaef.org/

‘ENERGIZING TODAY’S STUDENTS THROUGH KNOWLEDGE TO CREATE TOMORROW’S CITIZENS’

What is on their site is recommended books and posters. Touted as UNIQUE “These are the FIRST CIVICS TEXTS to include current and historic tribal governments”

ENDORSED:

“The books are endorsed by the Washington State Council for the Social Studies and the Washington State Indian Education Association, and the Since Time Immemorial: Tribal Sovereignty in Washington State is a CURRICULUM AND REFERS TEACHERS TO USING THESE BOOKS.

ARE WE CREATING TOMORROW’S CITIZENS? OR BRAINWASHING?

From the 1920s onwards, the Nazi Party targeted German youth as a special audience for its propaganda messages. These messages emphasized that the Party was a movement of youth: dynamic, resilient, forward-looking, and hopeful. MILLIONS OF GERMAN YOUNG PEOPLE WERE WON OVER TO NAZISM IN THE CLASSROOM AND THROUGH EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.

Since when did the League of Women’s Voters direct the topics to teach AND endorse errant facts about a sovereign nation for TOMORROW’S CITIZENS?

The timing of this was no accident - the last meeting - with the closing minutes ticking off.. Choreographed and scripted by - again, no doubt in my mind!

I was also at that meeting.

What I saw was a nervous young person willing to take time to speak. It was great to see engagement. I thought what he said was kinda weird though and didn’t give him another thought. Until now! With all the puzzle pieces in place, I now understand the programming. There are some people that are conformist and then there are independent thinkers. I really appreciate the CC Watchdog and the comments, peeling the layers off of the on going manipulations and shenanigans in this county is long over due.

It's a sad thing to see adults politically pimping our youth. Even worse when the political ideology is not of my choosing. Difficult enough watching Lemmings decry immigration enforcement and display hate for their leaders, but forcing those misdirected beliefs upon our kids is a bridge too far. How to find accountability is the challenge.

really curious how pointing out the inappropriate hat became "acting out pedophilia" according to said child. Reminds me of when I read comments on next door and can tell they have not even read the article and are just repeating what they have been programmed to say about Jeff

Using school children to accomplish an agenda was being done while I was attending Port Angeles schools and has evolved into what we are witnessing in current times. During the school year of 1969, the PASD levy failed to pass, resulting in the School Board to cancel certain electives and sports from the 1970 curriculum. The Class of 1970 did not have sports during their graduating year, and I further recall the politics and anger by some students and their parents. School kids were drug into the battle between 'us and them' by prominent families who had children in sports their entire school careers, who would not be showcased for college sports scholarships that year at the expense of all taxpayers. I recall the divisive tactics used to bully those in opposition to a levy we obviously could not afford, and has been a socially divisive event ever since, with the next levy presented being passed, and all in the kingdom were happy and gay once more, except those whose paid higher assessments, with nothing in return, continuing to this day. Children begin their indoctrination during Day Care, Pre-school, Kindergarten and right on up through adulthhood in recent decades, with feelings and drama being accentuated in every possible aspect of life. Social media and platforms enable instant emotional stimulation and reaction, much of which carries on covertly via bullying tactics, sometimes resulting in young people taking their own lives after realizing they were used by their social media and so-called "friends". Adult children, using their children for whatever cause, so that they can have their way, no matter the cause or cost to anyone else, to stroke their own fragile ego and "win." They are easily identified at youth sporting events, living vicariously.

1970 when protests were actually for something important. The Vietnam War where over 50,000 Americans were killed. Now it's No Kings and other innane 'causes' the far left protests AS IF to revive the heroism of protesting the Vietnam War. Today's protests are performative and divisive. Leage of Women Voters just a bunch of bat crazy old white women pretending their outrage deserves attention.

Now we have those people in our schools 'teaching' our kids. While the USA falls behind in acedemics we excel in stupidity. ICE walkouts, No Kings, OMG!

Steve O.'s avatar

Billy T Wilson my lottery number was high during the Tet Offensive. I was lucky. The protests are performative and the venomous language only isolates me more from the female population.
