The commissioners did not answer questions about the proposed $500,000-per-unit proposed public housing project. Here is today's email send to the League of Women Voters:

Hello,

I wanted to share the attached article from Clallam County Watchdog, “When Activists Teach History,” and invite the League of Women Voters of Clallam County to respond to the questions raised. The article examines the League’s involvement in promoting the "The State We’re In: Washington" civics curriculum and its role in local education efforts. I would welcome any response, clarification, or perspective the League would like to provide. If you choose to reply, your response will be published in full and unedited so readers can hear directly from you.

Good governance does not require classrooms to be perspective-free; it requires that perspectives be openly chosen, publicly reviewable, and accountable to the people.

Washington law does not require classrooms to be perspective-free. It requires curriculum decisions to go through written board policy, instructional-materials review, parent/community access, and complaint procedures under RCW 28A.320.230, while also aligning to state requirements such as tribal history under RCW 28A.320.170 and inclusive-materials policy under RCW 28A.345.130. Locally, Sequim School District Procedure 2020P expressly allows community review of core materials and ties course design to state standards.

There is a Sequim school board meeting this Monday, the 16th, 5:30pm.

Oh I am going!

We have 6 grandchildren,

- 3 live and Attend Sequim School district.

One is in another district and one is Home Schooled.

Let’s teach truth?!

It all makes sense now “why” they “segregated” the grade schools, separating the age groups.

My concern with this?

The older siblings are now not attending school together.

The young minds are easier to sway perspectives and ideologies.

BOOM 💥

Hope to see several parents and Grandparents at the meeting Monday.

Thanks Jeff,

Thank you for awareness.

There are several new books out in the grade-schools now.

Teaching them to “accept” the new CONTENT.

I read a few last year while volunteering at Greywolf.

This year - same-

… the graphics would also “depict” & “suggest” acceptance of questionable behaviors.

The League of woman voters need to get out of our schools.

Period.

Dismantle.

Take their power away.

Right here.

If I do the right thing, the path is guided and l see.

💥🇺🇸

Thank you, Teresa! More parents need school choice for their children, because the teachers' unions are squeezing good teachers out of their loved professions. Parents ask, ask, ask questions. Be involved in PTAs/PTOs. You'll make the difference your children need to get a solid education.

Teresa's avatar

Agreed Denise.

God Bless the true teaching warriors who love their students and mean no harm.

Again, we are so distracted by “busy”.

I was engaged as I could be when my son was here in school,

however I missed everything.💥

I want a CCWD t-shirt.

Let's not forget that some of the "white Europeans" were SENT here, as criminals being punished. They didn't choose to come here. They didn't come to invade and conquer. It was punishment to be sent away from their families. They crimes could have been political. They could have been falsely accused of crimes. We all (maybe?) know the history. Were we lied to being taught this history in school?

Also, if "no one owned land", which I don't see pictured and would like to see the update on that to verify fact: Then why are the tribes today so "hell-bent" on OWNING the land? Why, if they are trying to restore in the name of heritage, are they buying up land for the purpose of controling it? The early natives lived alongside, even married, the Europeans who came here.

This raises a lot of questions.

Jeff, I sent you an email regarding the history of the name of Sequim being changed by Historylink.org. This may be relevant to this story, as the narrative they publish as the history of the name is that it's from tribal names. It's not.

I am copying a quotation from WWII, Joseph Goebbels. It is titled the Big Lie.

"If you tell a lie big enough, and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the state can shield the people from the political, economic, and or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is greatest enemy of the State." Read your history.

Parents should be concerned that their children are being brainwashed. That may sound like hyperbole, but teachers have an enormous amount of power over the children they shepherd. In elementary school they control what children take in for a majority of their waking hours.

The curriculum needs to be age appropriate, which it doesn’t seem to be at this time. The curriculum needs to be balanced. Civics need to be taught, but the focus in primary and elementary school needs to be on the ‘3?R’s, “Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic”.

Our children are being fed information that is making them increasingly anxious and depressed. Let them be children! They have their entire adult lifetimes to be socially active.

ABeetlebaum's avatar

Yes. The elementary schools in the old days (my age) only taught reading, writing and arithmetic. We also had some art. When you went to Jr. High ( or Middle school later) you learned government, civics and some world history. It has been hijacked by the teachers union and I agree, some of these kids are anxious and depressed. Kids being hijacked to 'work' for equality and 'work' for conservation puts a whole different view of things. No longer focused on the child and their needs but on how that child can 'work' for society.

Sally Kincaid's avatar

The Socialist creep into our culture.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

It’s so true in public schools in Clark County. And how dare me to ask for an after school meeting, we get off at 2:30.

Also by high school they did not want parent volunteers hanging around.

The teachers Union is a cult. Take your children and run. Use the college money for private school so at least they graduate. God help you if your student is an independent thinker.

Questions are not appreciated.

T-Chart Graphic Organizer | Printable PDF

A T-chart is a simple graphic organizer with two columns, shaped like the letter 'T', used to compare or contrast two different aspects of a topic, such as pros and cons, facts vs. opinions, or cause & effect, helping with decision-making, analysis, and organizing thoughts for writing or discussion.

Thank you ABeetle, I learned my new word of the day ; ) Sometimes people assume one knows more than they know. At least I'm learning here and not what is being shoved down the throats of our children attending schools.

Clallamity Jen's avatar

In the Chapter 5 activism part, this stood out to me: Second, when you pitch in and help with any issue, you will learn a lot about how the world works, and what special interests or skills you have that can make the most difference.

Doing some research today for our socialism/communism podcast for Saturday, this is something that came up in regards to the phrase ‘From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs’: The phrase implies that individuals should contribute to society according to their specific skills, talents, and capacity.

Seeing the LWV use the same words to promote activism in children makes me question the deeper connection to socialism and communism. While not all suffrage movements were based in socialism, some of them were and the history of suffrage itself is intertwined with socialism and communism. Like all movements, different groups disagreed with others since they weren’t all left leaning.

But the more I read about the suffragette movement in the US and all the lobbying they did for women’s right to vote, and lobbying to move voting rights away from property rights and base it on citizenship — yes, citizenship — it makes sense to me that they now advocate for moving voting rights away from citizenship and towards something else. Just like the John Stossel activist clip you shared, they had success and now have to move the goal to something new in order to stay relevant and funded.

ABeetlebaum's avatar

CJ, very good analysis of this. And sort of off topic; when I look at their logo, I always see that red slash under the LWV, sends a message of political direction.

Marni Herreid's avatar

Maybe you're catching on to the fact that every great leap we've made in our civilization as a whole, in the US, has been at the hands of the many, working toward the same goal.

Maybe not, and you simply refuse to see the myriad instances of corruption in this... (I'll be polite) administration.

Its so strange watching red-blooded Americans, whose very existence in this country was only possible within the democratic Republic set in place by our much wiser forebears. Who fought AGAINST the king of England. Remember? That's what Patriots did, they fought Against the king.

You all are rooting, not just for a king, but a fkg tyrant. Look up that one word, just one word: Tyrant. And if you can't find ten similarities to Trump in the last four weeks of news cycles from, let's say, Australia or Qatar, I'll eat my hat. Or a bandana. Or.... a donut.

ABeetlebaum's avatar

Go ahead, eat whatever you want. Some people believe opinions over facts. I would rather discuss facts. Not some fkg opinion from npr or indivisible.

Clallamity Jen's avatar

Because there was no oppression when Obama mandated health insurance on people and imposed a fine on them for not having it? That oppression was removed by Trump in his first administration.

And there is no oppression by the local commissioners who raise taxes without a vote by the people? How kingly of them.

And there is no oppression by local members of the League of Women Voters who worked to silence opposition during Charter Review Commission meetings? How queenly of them.

There is more oppression in this country, and county, than the power of one president, no matter who the president is. Trump’s not perfect, but I’ll take him over the other choice any day…especially because he makes so many people, like you, mad. LOL.

News cycles? No wonder so many people are clueless out here…they watch the news. LOL.

How about you find ten similarities and take on the burden of defending your argument if you believe in it so much. LOL.

Too bad modern tribes don’t know how to harvest fish without harming future runs. Their insistence on net fishing undoes all the efforts our tax dollars pay for to maintain fisheries.

Juanie's avatar

This is why I am saving money to help with home school or private school for my grandchildren. I don’t think the tide is going to change very quickly with this propaganda/activism that being spread around by the LWV and others.

Robert's avatar

OF COURSE LWV is an activist organization. Anyone examining the facts with unjaded eyes can see this. The communist ideology of changing society starting with impressionable young minds espoused by Ron Allen and LWV is not new, but certainly a big reason more and more aware parents choose to homeschool their kids. Also, the quote “knew how to harvest fish without harming future fish runs,” is total BS. Tribes throughout North America did not have the technology to destroy what were, at the time, larger runs of anadromous fishes that we see today, whose stocks are historically down due to several factors, including but not limited to, commercial overfishing and the Marine Mammal Protection Act -- not the phony baloney climate change grift. In Alaska, where I lived for more than a decade and was very involved in issues of fish and game management, in many instances, when left unchecked the native tribes hammered the fish and game resources to the point of near decimation. IMHO, a large part of society's troubles today are due in no small part to the abject failure of a public education system that preaches activism over teaching the basics over the past two decades.

HA~!

The hateful, politically biased, harm reduction "drug pushers", who wouldn't tell the truth about anything, are "teaching history"??? HA~! HA~! HA~! HA~! HA~! OH! That's rich~! They are promoting fake history, fake science, fake news, fake neutrality, fake Patriotism, and COMPLETELY fake Intentions, so I just have to wonder if these disgusting clowns are "fake women" as well? Not that I give a damn about anyone's gender, because committing Treason and Crimes Against Humanity is truly an "equal opportunity" death sentence for those who are found guilty of the highest crimes in America. US Military Tribunals are ALL business, and they play no idiotic games like the ones that the civilian "kangaroo court jesters" infamously regularly play~! I know that parents have an incredibly difficult job, especially at this difficult time in history, however I would have zero respect for ANYONE who would subject children to this "League of Lunatics" twisted & perverted version of anything, let alone history... I know that there are some great teachers who REALLY do respect the children's best interests as a priority, instead of their personal paychecks, and how difficult it is for them to fight the horrific long failed "school systems" to actually educate children as it already is, but what kind of seriously mentally ill Individual would shove children into ANY place where they would be subjected to such hideous and damaging abuses that this "Leage of Looney Tunes Liars" was Brainwashing children in~? What kind of incompetent "parent" would even allow their children anywhere near a public school these days is difficult to imagine, especially with the other FAR better options that are available to actually give their children a REAL solid education~? Are there REALLY that many parents who are THAT stupid. ignorant, and/or negligent? Being "too busy" just does not work as any excuse anymore, it never really did, but these days it does not excuse exposing children to what really amounts to crimes against them and ALL of America. These young minds can't be "polluted" by the lies and deceptions of these criminals of humanity in our community, because once exposed to them the children will grow up confused and angry because the real world is always uncaring about lies, deceptions, and literally uneducated people of any age~! Thank you Jeff Tozzer, because if "we" don't protect our children's minds from being abused by these criminals, they will NEVER grow up to be well adjusted Intelligent free-thinking Americans~! Brainwashing is unacceptable for ANY age of Americans~! These "Leage of Criminals" and EVERYONE who plays a role in these crimes against children should, ar the very least, be in prison~!

Sincerely,

Mike

What ever happened to school teaching kids HOW to think, not what to think?!? This is Socialist, Marxist theory and it's been going on for at least 45-50 years now in our public schools. Again the inmates are running the asylum, and it won't be easy to change if it's not to late already.

Michael Heath's avatar

Great comment Patriot Mick Fearson~!

MY father was THE elite PhD Professor at a University for many decades and every year after the first quarter of the school year he would comment that "The freshmen that year were even dumber than they were just the year before"~! This is no secret! So, as you can imagine, I have always known that the US Department of Education (miseducation) model was THE problem~! I am an old Geezer now, so this very intentional attack upon our children and all American students is more than 70 years old as far as I personally know. The Federal government passed a law that FORCED all children into the "school system" LONG ago, and I forget exactly what date that was, but that would be the actual date that the Federal government very intentionally set Americans up for failure, of course under the pretense that it was "good for Americans" as they always falsely claim whenever they are plotting their unlawful and unconstitutional acts against America and ALL Americans... By now, all Americans should realize that when the government says that it is doing anything "for our own good" it is has eventually proven to have been a dirty lie and a disaster, but some people are VERY slow witted~! Geee, I wonder why??? HA~! I am definitely NOT against folks educating themselves, but obviously the so-called traditional American model has been a calculated planned failure, because there has NEVER been a single year when the American school system could honestly prove that they improved at all~! The dumber Americans get, the less they can even see the obvious and the more "neutered" (Brainwashed) they become. I have GOBZ of government approved "wallpaper" myself, but my real-life experiences along with myself education efforts have proven to have been the only real valuable education that I ever received. I am an old student of history, so as a child I learned how the children of privileged families in ancient times of history were educated for many thousands of years before the government forced educational disaster, so I simply followed that old proven time-tested model, while I was being tortured by the public education matrix ;-) Yes, the crazy dumbed down teachers and administrators have now become "the asylum keepers" and the ONLY thing that helps our children learning anything of value now, are the VERY few good teachers who are there more for the children, than they are there for themselves~! The proof is easy to confirm, because all anyone has to do is ask the average American high school graduate (of any age) how many teachers that they believed were good and to name them or give specifics if they can't remember the names~! HA~! Most Americans will have to think long and hard to name 5 ex teachers that they feel were worth a damn from a real educational standpoint~! The numbers I have usually confirmed were 2 to 3 good teachers, for 18+ year olds who most likely had around 25 to 30+ teachers before they graduated high school. College is not much better, but a college student can drop out, change teachers, or transfer to a different college if they are not happy, so that is the power of choice & responsibility that does NOT exist in elementary & high schools. Bad teachers in the school system get paid what the great teachers get paid, which is a HUGE problem, especially since a bad teacher can be nearly impossible to fire~! Anyway, this has always been one of my greatest concerns for America as an old American Constitutionalist sworn to protect & defend America and Americans, so I do tend to rant just a little ;-) Geeeeeze! Ya think? Oh, and YES, it is too late for a great many millions of Americans who have already passed away and even MANY in generations who are still living today, because the criminal indoctrination and cradle to grave Brainwashing of ALL Americans is terminal for most because they never even realize how much they have been harmed. I do what I do for the future generations ;-) You may have noticed that President Trump has made no secret about eliminating "The Federal Department of Education" and returning the money and power to each community, who will be FAR more motivated to actually do right by THEIR local children (unless it is a Democrat or RINO controlled community like "we" have here of course). My guess is that President Trump has more good changes along these and MANY other lines in mind, but America definitely has even more important problems to deal with as a priority. Did you know that many years ago the local Sequim High School actually had a wonderful number of "shop & trade" classes? In fact, I am going to help someone tomorrow who owns a house that the Sequim High School students built over 60 years ago, before "we" (Americans) were SO intentionally viciously betrayed by removing ALL of the High School classes that actually taught the students to do anything worthwhile that would make them employable~! I defy anyone to find a single course that ANY local high school teaches, that teaches any high school student anything that makes them employable right out of high school~! HA~! Now, try the same "test" for any college curriculum, and you will quickly see that even the majority of college graduates don't fare much better! This CAN'T be a coincidence or well meaning "progress"~! America has been under attack for at least 150 years believe it or not~! The good news is that it is not "too late" to do the right thing for the future generations and we could even possibly improve the quality of our current lives if we can wake up enough folks in time~! So "we" must~!

Sincerely, Mike

Michael, thank you so much for writing what I could not find words for. The public school system I have encountered through work and with a student has a lot of burned out, left leaning teachers with a captive audience. It’s a very dangerous agenda for young minds. My parents were aware of the brainwashing when I was in school. They frequently send letters to staff after reviewing my homework. I graduated at age 16, looking back I was not gifted they just wanted me out of school, as a perceived little trouble maker!

Not much has changed, thanks mom and dad!

Michael Heath's avatar

Hello, wonderful Patriot Susan C Bonallo~!

Yes, the dramatically failed public school system has over the years become a cesspool of COMPLETELY miserable lazy greedy self-centered political activist scumbags who very clearly care nothing about the students~! That was made abundantly clear during the fake COVID scare, where the teachers didn't even teach any students for at least a year... Funny how they all got their paychecks though huh? That backfired on the corrupt teachers because it proved that students didn't even need them at all HA! Over the years, I have seen these worthless so-called "teachers" intentionally methodically push out the good teachers, so that now anyone who does not walk "lock step" with their satanic progressive liberal agenda politics, they ruthlessly attack to make their lives Hell. Coming from a "teaching family" I have been well aware of what has been going on all of my life, and it has been absolutely devastating to witness. I have seen hundreds of the best teachers get out of teaching entirely because of these evil satanic goons and their very intentional "elimination agenda" that they have been viciously conducting. Worse, MANY millions of helpless students have been abused, tortured, molested, raped, and brainwashed by these evil minions for many decades now, to the point that "we" right here can see a few of them in their small fake "protests" because they are absolutely hysterical that THEIR corrupt democrat & RINO progressive nightmare is FINALLY being destroyed~! SO sad huh??? ;-) I am SO glad that your parents were aware of the vile brainwashing agenda of the schools and that they pushed back with their letters to the corrupt staff, but these criminals in the school administration and teaching system obviously just ignored ALL of the parents' concerns because they ALWAYS knew damn well what they were doing was wrong. HA! I have to laugh at you graduating high school at 16 because I TOTALLY understand why you did that. In fact, I very intentionally got the Hell out of that evil corrupt "daycare prison" of high school myself in 3 years and 1 quarter to enter college~! Even today I am not sure why anyone would need to be in high school for 4 full years. I NEVER flunked a class, I NEVER attended summer school, and I NEVER even took more classes than the other students, so I don't really get why anyone needs to be there for 4 full years... There is an interesting and funny story that I can disclose, however. You see, in order to be "granted" my early escape from that Hellish nightmare, I was required to have my high school counselor sign off that I had graduated with enough credits early, so I made an appointment to see my counselor, and he acted insultingly as if he was too busy to really be bothered. I had to agree to walk with him as he went around the school pretending to have more "important business" to attend to... HA~! Well, when he casually asked me what my plans were, not that it was any of his damn business, I just politely told him that I was going to college. He took a look at my transcripts and immediately "declared" NO YOU AREN'T~! HA~! I said, "Oh REALLY, why not?". And he proceeded to tell me that I could not get into college because I didn't have 2 years of foreign languages in high school. HAAAAA~! Little did that A-Hole know that my father was THE elite PhD Professor at a major University, and I had known for a fact since I was about 8 or 9 years old that the "2-year foreign language requirement" in high school to get into college was a TOTAL LIE and it always has been~! It is actually unconstitutionally unlawful, but that is why folks need to know the law as opposed to the fake BS that all of these evil criminal's push~! I also had a close friend who was a teacher at that same high school and he later told me that counselor actually KNEW that was a lie and the only reason he tried to trick me into staying in high school was because the school district made something like $28 a head a day for every student that showed up in school~! That is REALLY why they have "school police thugs" (truant officers) running around hassling children who are not in school, because they could give a shit if any of the children learn anything~! Of course that was 50 years ago now, so everything has gotten MUCH worse in every imaginable way because corruption in government NEVER fixes itself, and the incompetent lazy parents LOVE the corrupt "daycare prison" to stick their children into~! HA! I am sure that you were actually a gifted student or at least more Intelligent than the clowns running your high school Susan~! I was a VERY well-behaved student all of my life, UNTIL about my Junior year of high school and the corrupt school administration "declared" that the students were not allowed off campus and they were closing the campus from students coming and going as they pleased. OH BOY! Did THAT piss me off, so I INSTANTLY rebelled and started to go off campus all of the time, for lunch or just for fun whenever I pleased! I would have friends fake that they were going to their cars to leave school at one end of the parking lot, drawing the teachers guarding the parking lot to run over to stop them, while I just casually strolled out to my car at the other end of the parking lot to drive away as I damn well pleased! HA! What good sport! You see, I have been an American Constitutionalist since I was about 9 years old, so these ignorant retarded teachers and administrators were no match for me ;-) I NEVER ditched school in my life, and was never even late for a class, except on Senior ditch day of course, but I raised bloody hell keeping these stupid NAZI wannabes busy chasing their tails for well over a year that they will never forget!!! Don't tell me I can't leave anywhere I want to leave and for any reason that I choose ;-)) So, you likely graduated on your own scholastic accord, because they didn't get rid of me for "troublemaking" they actually tried to trick me into staying extra innings so they could rob me of my life~! HA! Like that was EVER going to work~! Have a mellow evening and keep up the great work my friend~!

Sincerely smiling, Mike

Yes, by graduating early the Principal told me I would not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Like that “threat” would keep me there. I told my dad, who was always a gentleman and he said “Who gives a rats ass”? So my parents really taught me that going with the flow is for followers, not for individuals with agendas! Thanks for bringing back some good memories. And it was always about the money that each student represented.

Michael Heath's avatar

Happy Funday Sunday, Susan C Bonallo~!

HA~! If I remember correctly, I did have the option to attend my class graduation ceremony, had I wanted to do so. Perhaps the dysfunctional jerks in the administration were hoping to deny me that right if I had attempted to exercise it, because that is exactly the kind of sick manipulative backstabbing BS that they would have pulled. Anyway, there was part of me that wanted to go to my classes formal graduation ceremony because I missed my friends, NOT because I missed the school in any way whatsoever. By the time graduation came I had been a college student for 6 months and it seemed a little silly for me to go back to "graduate twice". Besides, I still got to see most of my friends anyway and being a college Freshman is a lot more difficult than the high school BS for students who actually take a full load of challenging classes~! I am sad that the loser principal at your high school was such a low life scumbag as to keep you from the graduation that you earned and OUR taxes paid for, but the vast majority of so-called "adults" who teach and administer high school level BS are actually still "little childish children" mentally who could not cut it in the real world of employment AND who are really losers in their own lives. I am NOT disparaging the good teachers who are truly honorably there for the students because they want to be there, but most students of average intelligence when I was in school were well aware of the bullies, abusers, and really bad teachers who made their school experience a living Hell. In fact, I don't know how ANY high school student could NOT see the bad teachers, because back in my day the students had "class sign up day" where they would choose the classes and teachers that they wanted. Students would ask each other if a teacher was any good... Of course, the administration made sure that the bad teachers would have full classes by intentionally removing any good teacher options to protect the bad teachers' jobs, but that is a standard "little trick" that they always use... I thought that everyone "networked" with each other to make sure that they didn't sign up with the worst teachers... I am glad that your parents cared! Good for you in taking responsibility for your own life and destiny~!

Have a great Sunday~!

Sincerely, Mike
