After watching the video of an attack on a Clallam Transit operator, would you consider this to be a “small exclusion”? Do you think de-escalation training would have prevented this? Do you think the Clallam Transit Board should have released more details of this attack to the public?

Seems like a good time for concealed weapons permit. Not to kill, but to change the direction an incident is going. My husband says pepper spray. But I read when you use pepper spray the operator almost always gets it on them. Still two options to consider. BTW : watching that unfold, we already knew something would happen, but you could just feel it.
I wasn’t expecting passengers to get so engaged. God bless them. Bet driver has PTSD and I hope she gets heavily compensated. She deserves it and county should take a hit for not having any driver protection. They knew/know mostly bums ride the bus these days. I literally was shaking watching that.
Everyone gets pepper sprayed when 'it' happens. But to varying degrees...it does require awareness which may be hard to come by in the heat of the moment...but better than nothing.
Little air-horns might help, but you have to have them on you and accessible at all times...a little demoralizing to live like this.
We can be passive/loving towards an assailant...or we can cower in fear...or we can lash out in anger...but we are NOT in control of the situation when a demonic psychopath chooses us as a victim.
We can pray for protection...it may help...we can remain aware and alert and possibly stall or avoid a confrontation but if you see the video in Seattle where this psychopath roams 3rd St. and randomly punches people...with an extensive violent history and he escalates to ambushing an elderly woman at a crosswalk with a long staff with nails embedded in the end and blinds the woman in her right eye and God knows what kind of PTSD she will have for the rest of her life...this is NOT FAR AWAY...it is actually happening here, in real time, just not this extreme...YET!
I got a couple of megaphones at radio shack. They are so loud. Good for safety and fun on our boat when we don’t know where our meet-ups are moored. They also play a variety of tunes like Taps, Happy BD etc. yes I am easily entertained. Lucky me!
Jeff, my heart is still racing. That repulsive scene reminded me of the television series Wild Kingdom except zoologist Marlin Perkins wasn't narrating the events. I am glad the humans were able to subdue the beast. If I am ever obligated to utilize taxpayer subsidized public transportation I will carry a tranquilizer gun.
The last time I rode a bus was in 1976 when a filthy vagrant who was drinking wine vomited on the back of my head and neck. My silk-blend Roland shirt was ruined and for the rest of the journey the odor drove the other passengers away from my seat. Buses weren't like that when I was a small boy. Men and women are spinning around our planet yet not attention is applied to simple law and order or in my case law and odor.
I just want to say Thank You for trying. I do not think there is any hope for Clallam County as the systemic system is so deep. They already know who will be county commissioner, state legislator, state senator, etc years beforehand. (I know this from being on the inside) They already have the system and structure in place to eliminate anyone that speaks against them. They are trying daily with you. I tried for years to expose this and try and make things better. Years. I finally gave up. If you do to, I won't blame you. These people are insidious and disgusting. Yesterday I thought about how much money I was paid by my employer to work 40 hours per week and a lot of the time I worked overtime, was on call 24/7 carried a beeper and cell phone. Some times I worked 36-48 hours nonstop due to service outages, ah to be young!
Anyway many years I was able to pull in over $100K, but that came without hard hard work and being away from my husband and children, working holidays, etc. I don’t think most fire fighters/EMT’s and police, who are risking their lives every time they put on those uniforms, make as much?
Anyway when I think about our “3” Commissioners making over $100K a year to sit and attend 2 maybe 3 hour meetings a week, holidays off, no overtime, they attend a few feel good invites to NGO organizations & tribal ceremonies. The Commissioners are treated like kings so they will vote the NGO’s more tax payer money. These Commissioners have it “dic..ed”. Why couldn't the Board publicly answer your question, Jeff, on Comm. Ozias' whereabouts? Why make this a secret? This not only looks bad, it also shows bad decision making. Just like the free fare bus rides. The perp is a large burly man who physically assaulted a smaller and more vulnerable woman. It took two other men to wrestle him off the bus. This is not a minor incident. This very serious as it affected the bus driver, the passengers, the pedestrian, the other vehicles on the road, and other pedestrians. As well as those who have seen the video of the attack. It's uncomfortable watching someone being victimized. Stay safe as best you can, everyone.

If the driver wished to receive a seven or eight figure settlement, I would assume that she would need to establish through documentation with her employer a pattern of neglect followed by severe physical damage to her face. I recently saw a video featuring a man punching a driver in the face while the bus was moving and it crashed into parked cars. After the collision a few pedestrians jumped on the bus and pretended to be injured.
On the article on PBH money. At bid time an outside EC bid 800 k on the job. Our local ECs were around 1.1 m. The job was design build and the lighting was around 200 k. The low
bidder was using a cost of 22k. A figure not possible for what is required to do what they

I immediately went to the site to request ballot(s) for two people who do not have an email address. I was shocked that an Email and Mobile Phone was required. Does this requirement eliminate the chance to vote? If a person does not have a Mobile Phone requirement, I ask the same question, does that eliminate the chance to vote?
Maybe I'm simply electronically challenged, but is it really necessary to tap through time for decades to input a birthday on the ballot request form? It was over 900 taps!

Clallam Conservation District had options: third-party election oversight, in-person polling, or public observers.
Instead, the District announced that the 2026 Supervisor Election will be MAIL-IN ONLY - NO IN-PERSON VOTING, NO POLLING SITE, AND A SINGLE DROP BOX closing at 4:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Placing additional requirements of having to have an email and a MOBILE phone is not fair voting. Fair voting could only be achieved if there were alternate ways to get a ballot that would be available to EVERYONE.
There is no oversight on this voting which leads to massive mistrust. They should have to go through the same procedures and process that the county has to go through since they are getting tax payer money 🤬

The last time I rode a bus was in 1976 when a filthy vagrant who was drinking wine vomited on the back of my head and neck. Yesterday I thought about how much money I was paid by my employer to work 40 hours per week and a lot of the time I worked overtime, was on call 24/7 carried a beeper and cell phone. Some times I worked 36-48 hours nonstop due to service outages, ah to be young!
Anyway many years I was able to pull in over $100K, but that came without hard hard work and being away from my husband and children, working holidays, etc. I don’t think most fire fighters/EMT’s and police, who are risking their lives every time they put on those uniforms, make as much?
Anyway when I think about our “3” Commissioners making over $100K a year to sit and attend 2 maybe 3 hour meetings a week, holidays off, no overtime, they attend a few feel good invites to NGO organizations & tribal ceremonies. The Commissioners are treated like kings so they will vote the NGO’s more tax payer money. These Commissioners have it “dic..ed”. Not only is it time to get new blood it’s time to REDUCE the salaries and do pay for performance & “the people will decide” their pay. Please Santa, Merry Xmas & Happy New Year….

This is not a minor incident. This very serious as it affected the bus driver, the passengers, the pedestrian, the other vehicles on the road, and other pedestrians. As well as those who have seen the video of the attack. It's uncomfortable watching someone being victimized. Stay safe as best you can, everyone.

If the driver wished to receive a seven or eight figure settlement, I would assume that she would need to establish through documentation with her employer a pattern of neglect followed by severe physical damage to her face. I recently saw a video featuring a man punching a driver in the face while the bus was moving and it crashed into parked cars. After the collision a few pedestrians jumped on the bus and pretended to be injured.

bidder was using a cost of 22k. A figure not possible for what is required to do what they

Instead, the District announced that the 2026 Supervisor Election will be MAIL-IN ONLY - NO IN-PERSON VOTING, NO POLLING SITE, AND A SINGLE DROP BOX closing at 4:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Placing additional requirements of having to have an email and a MOBILE phone is not fair voting. Fair voting could only be achieved if there were alternate ways to get a ballot that would be available to EVERYONE.
There is no oversight on this voting which leads to massive mistrust. They should have to go through the same procedures and process that the county has to go through since they are getting tax payer money 🤬
