The sticker was "at the entrance to the Seegers family driveway itself."

This is not ordinary political speech when it is placed on private property without consent. At minimum, it raises serious trespass and property damage concerns. If the sticker was placed on a sign, mailbox, post, structure, gate, or driveway marker, it may also implicate Washington’s malicious mischief statute.

@JeffTozzer, can you practice being a better person after listening to yesterday's Board of Health Meeting - May 19, 2026? Here is the link if you want to work out that "better person muscle" https://clallamcowa.portal.civicclerk.com/event/292/media

Wow, that sounds like quite the ask of me! I'll give it a shot :)

Do you have any time stamps for specific comments? It's a lot to digest the whole thing. I have some thoughts on Randy Johnson and Berry's seemingly coordinated reefer madness campaign that I need to organize when I have time.

Dr. Sarah's avatar

Hi Susie, great clarifying question. I am working on getting the transcript to better digest all the things that are triggering me. I just wanted to see if others found things that seemed off.

Once I get the transcript I will have quotes, timestamps, and clarification with cited sources.

As i mentioned the “wellness” center, a rehab basically… from start to finish.

I have suggested this numerous times.

Mr French, addressed my comment.

Saying we already have one, it’s Jamestown.

I disagreed with him, he acknowledged that and he addressed that too.

For someone to say they can’t sit through the whole thing?

Come on people… that’s why the women have the babies.

a little help here….

She did not admit the boofing distribution undermined the intent of the state and federal methadone public policy decision. I will ask the question again here. Why would someone quit heroin under the methadone in clinic model ..if they can still use heroin easier than it was before. She said it without saying it. The methadone program isn't working and needs a new lane. Absolutely preposterous.

Susie Blake's avatar

Not sure who you are referencing? Digesting a two hour meeting takes time. Yesterday was a 10 hr workday for me, a long council meeting, and a life and home to care for. Many workers have limited time off far below what local govt workers expect . We should be careful about judging how others show up.

Teresa's avatar

therein lies a problem.

i do believe personal time and civic time should be offered to people..

i know it looks different for me and my current situation.

i’m referencing to over 70,000 people that didn’t participate in the meeting or to be fare, they don’t even know it exists… or, they just don’t want to..

So we spread it here, for good i hope.

Frustration i speak

i spose… 🥴

there are more of us available, that are not working as well.. that could

show up for those that are not available.

👍🏼

Susie Blake's avatar

I understand your valid frustration. I also have observed coordinated gaslighting of the public regarding these issues going back as far as 2020. When we feel alone we are more likely to give up. I deeply appreciate all of you who show up to comment at BOCC

Susie Blake's avatar

yes, very very off. combined comments of Johnson at BOCC and all at board of health seem a coordinated deflection from the public health weekend narcotics camp, IMO. I look forward to your analysis.

Susie Blake's avatar

oh Mylanta! digesting this in small bites. professional gaslighting

That all starts with the treatment professionals associations who still think their 240 thousand dollar a year magic dust works on Jeff Spicoli...but all that leaves out the wonderful non THC advances our state has achieved. These new strains have no psychosis...Furthermore it runs headlong into their friends and neighbors and defund the police platform...and their decision to give heroin users their own lane..Where is Spicoli's lane? the public voted for that...

Why is it Clallam County's responsibility to treat addicts who come here from all over the country? Is it the same mentality as the Open Borders policy of helping anyone and everyone from all corners of the world?

If we instead locked up those that use illegal drugs, forcing them into unpleasant withdrawal, do not provide them with drug paraphernalia, and disallow camping on public property, the "homeless problem" would fade away. It's not rocket science, folks. The reason that the county leaders do not do this is because the "homeless problem" is profitable for them. It's that simple. And, the naive voters are letting them continue it.

John Worthington's avatar

Its not our responsibility its family and friends responsibility. The fact that they are here means they obviously did their job. Furthermore, its not cruel to set them up a methadone apple cart for the purpose of creating that clinically supported confrontation. It is however stoopid to create a local government job to undermine the methadone clinic public policy..without just admitting it doesn't work. I think we have two lanes that don't work just so we can fatten the blue pages..

SC's avatar

I listened to the meeting. There were several triggering instances that I think you are referring to.

As a recovered drug addict, I understand the stated goals behind harm reduction programs. I understand why public health officials want fewer needle-related infections, fewer overdoses, and fewer ER visits. I don’t believe most of these people are acting with malicious intent per se.

But I also think there’s a major disconnect between institutional theory and real-world addiction behavior.

When you’re actively addicted and trying to hustle up money for drugs with another person ( people rarely use alone, misery needs company), disease transmission is often not the first thing on your mind. The priority is getting high, avoiding withdrawal, and consuming the shared supply. So I think policymakers sometimes overestimate how consistently people in active addiction are going to follow “safer use” protocols the way public health models assume. I also feel we are interfering with divine intervention. Once your veins start blowing out- and you can't receive your high anymore, that is an opportunity for intervention to come in and offer treatment. Not just hand them a different way and wish them the best.

At the same time, many community concerns are being treated like an afterthought. People see discarded supplies, used paraphernalia, environmental waste, and hazardous debris in parks, waterways, sidewalks, and neighborhoods. They see programs expanding, but they don’t always see accountability for the downstream impacts on the public. They didn't really explain how a lot of the angry letters they are getting are highlighting their disregard for the trash their programs are leaving behind and instead focused on how misinformed the public is about what they do.

I think both realities can exist at once:

reducing disease spread matters,

and public safety / environmental concerns matter too.

The conversation shouldn’t just be officials congratulating themselves over one set of statistics while dismissing the lived experiences and concerns of residents who deal with the fallout every day. A balanced conversation has to include recovery, treatment, accountability, public safety, and community impact alongside harm reduction principles. Apparently they can't track what happens to people after they connect them with services- so they just go off the data that they connected someone to some kind of service. How do we go about changing that? Maybe if people are connecting to services through them- then they need to sign in to some kind of tracking their progress.

This is an interesting article in the comparison of what in my opinion our reasonable actions compared to those that are unhinged and outrageous.

.

I read a really nice summation about Jake from an online post:

"Check out this Jake guy.

He sure doesn't talk like a politician.

He even knows the homeless on the truck route by name and tries to help them.

Hard to wrap your head around a guy that wants solutions but nothing for himself.

He doesn't align himself with a political party.

Yes the powers that be in Clallam County view him as a threat. They have already gone after him. How is he a threat?

Maybe he's a threat to the status quo.

Maybe he's a threat to the people that want to turn the left and right against each other. Myself he's a threat to people who make more money off the problem than the solution."

.

As proud as I am of Jake deciding to not follow through with criminal charges for the individual who destroyed his sign, I am more proud of the man who came forward and made it right by meeting with Jake. Thank you sir, you're a breath of fresh air in this politically overcharged environment. I know Lewis and I'm incredibly disappointed in what he has written because I've not seen that side of him before.

It's easier to throw stones at someone who you don't know and I can't help but think that the people who deride Jake in the manner we see are afraid to have actual conversations with people and find out about them and what they really believe that cannot be relayed in the written form.

Lastly, thank you Clallam County Commissioners for engaging in the BIA process established by Congress. My personal belief is that as Mielke has said in the past that it'll do little good and knowing that is the "why" the Commissioners took this approach. Essentially this will likely be denied by the BIA and that denial will be used as evidence or proof at even attempting or taking time to do this is just that, a waste of time. The true test of whether this is going to be the way that our county responds to these situations is whether subsequent letters are written and it becomes more policy to do so.

I started to write a comment MK, and quickly realized I couldn't have stated it any better than you. Well done, sir!

We're with you, Jake. You're on the right path to stop the corruption of the Government/NGO power structure and we've got your back.

Ron Richards's avatar

The county's letter to the BIA is a small step in the right direction but the bit about all the non-taxed federal land is a red herring and a diversion from the real issues. Clallam County's taxes are not used to provide governmental services on that land, and that land brings a lot of tourism revenue to Clallam County. It's a benefit to Clallam County's budget, not a detriment. Rather than harp on that red herring, the County should have begun to address the bigger picture - the Jamestown Tribe's goal of obtaining jurisdiction over the individuals and taxation in almost all of Clallam County east of Ennis Creek. Each new piece of trust land property is a step in that direction that makes each next step easier under the existing Code of Federal Regulations.

Eric Fehrmann's avatar

How does the grant money taken by the Jamestown tribe affect Clallam County? I think many of us are aware of the Jamestown Tribe taking over the governance of the county. Our letter writing and continual shinning light at commissioner meetings should be an indication of that awareness.

It takes a real good man to let the sign Karen go. They wouldn't have done that for you Jake.

John Lee Pettimore III's avatar

A good man? Or just a politician playing the room. It would be quite hypocritical to press charges when he advocates for law enforcement to stand down when it involves his supporters.

John Worthington's avatar

Or just somebody not like Jim Stoffer....or Paul Pickett.

John Lee Pettimore III's avatar

Well.....I'll have to agree with you there!!! Definitely not as slimy, but a whole lot more polished.

John Worthington's avatar

and a whole lot more capable of being honest.

John Lee Pettimore III's avatar

That's not setting much of a standard when comparing him to Stoffer and Pickett.

John Worthington's avatar

Correct, but the box is checked nonetheless....Even by Porcine Wonders standard.

MK, very well said, Thank You.

I have been a big supporter for Jake Seegers since before he decided to run. He has common sense in which times like this is needed.

It disturbers me to see such hatred between people. My father was in the political realm and I remember not realizing it at the time of being watched by law enforcement. This is not how children should live or worry about, kids need to be kids, there’s enough crap out in the world that you’re fearful enough to protect your child.

Alright Jake might be from a family in wealth, but take a good look at him, does he show it, no he drives an older vehicle etc.

Look beyond this crap, look at the guy, talk to him. You will see a very intelligent man, with ideas that are outside of the box that could really help this county. He has already gotten many residents involved in getting together and having discussions. I know Jake well enough to know, he’d be happy to talk and listen. This is what America was built on, not all this hate.

BillB's avatar

Major kudos to Mr. Seegers for his mature and constructive approach to the recalcitrant sign stealer. We can use his actions as a model for our own actions in the future.

Candidates that speak truth are under siege from all sides. National political truth tellers like Thomas Massie are being removed with big money from foreign nations like Israel. Incredibly vile and false propaganda waged against him for speaking truth.

Jake Seegers is telling truth on the local level and I’m sure he’s also in the crosshairs from big money local nations. Right now it’s amateurs attacking Jake, but as the election gets closer the attacks will hit harder and the pros will come out. If Jake wins his primary and makes the ballot I expect the local nations to come against him full force. Stay Strong.

It’s a dark day everywhere when big money foreign and local nations can remove Americans from the political discourse at will.

I’ll keep hoping the truth will win someday.

"They know where we live." We must be mindful of the language we utilize in expressing ourselves. When emotions are allowed to enter the mix,, the basis of the conversation is often lost, "it's personal". Many of the people who are involved in local issues have been friends and acquaintences, often, for a lifetime. Let's face it, so-called leaders are in this for their own fame or gain; and we would do well not to allow ourselves to be used as pawns in fighting for their "causes", from which we benefit nothing. In this day and age, everyone knows where everyone else lives. Bullying is nothing new; the bullies are still the same insecure, scared of being bullied themselves. Single them out, and they are small, impotent people who claim to know so much; "The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." How we choose to deal with them is what changes things.

Teri Vanzant's avatar

What an appalling sign of the times and it makes me wonder what lengths 'some people' will go to in order to silence their opponents. This reminds me of the Salem witch trials where they would throw a witch (generally a woman) in the water and if she drowned she was declared innocent of witchcraft, but...if she survived she would be brought back to shore and then burned at the stake for witchcraft.

Jake Seegers was not born in Clallam County. So what? The vast majority of your local politicians weren't either. He's obviously over the target because you have some (Lewis Bennett) who are coming completely undone, and let's face it, espousing language that is rapidly approaching fascist and violent. 9 months ago a certain faction of society felt that it was completely okay to murder a man in public for having an opinion that differed from theirs, primarily that of a Christian nationalist. Is that what you're headed towards?

John Worthington's avatar

"Jake Seegers was not born in Clallam County.: neither was the wine and cheezer from California that destroyed his sign.

Isn't that whine and cheezer? Truthfully...I've never met either....and I wasn't born in Clallam County either.

Thank you for the link to this county's BOHealth mtg, Dr. Sarah. Now, I need to get on with my total that is, TOTAL disgust for Dr. Berry' s speech. First, she does NOT mention that the hantavirus from Argentina is a different strain than in US southwest:

Key Differences at a Glance;

Argentina (Andes Virus) - Rodent-to-human, and occasional limited human-to-human spread, Rodent Host - Long-tailed pygmy rice rat, Outbreak History - Clusters and "superspreader" events have been documented (e.g., Epuyén)

U.S. Southwest (Sin Nombre Virus) - Rodent-to-human only, Rodent host - Deer mouse , Outbreak History - Isolated, individual cases; outbreaks are highly rare.

Second, Dr. Berry is a LIAR.

ABeetlebaum's avatar

She also neatly puts the blame for the COVID mess onto someone else's decision/responsibility - namely Fed HHS, not her CLALLAM COUNTY !
