I'm floored! This article is like getting diagnosed with Stage 2 Cancer and it's spreading. This is NOT a Landback Strategy

it's CANCER IN CLALLAM COUNTY and our primary care providers are feeding it

Read many articles this morning on LAND BACK. This was just one, but all were tilted in the same direction and making claims that are not true.

https://www.firstnations.org/stories/land-back-how-two-tribes-are-re-acquiring-and-leveraging-community-forests/

Land Back: How Two Tribes are Re-Acquiring and Leveraging Community Forests

……..“There is an ongoing movement to get land back into the hands of Native communities. This movement can not only right the historical injustices that led to their land dispossession in the first place, but also further acknowledge that TRIBES HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE AND VALUE SYSTEMS TO STEWARD THEIR LANDS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL”…….

WHAT ?????????? So Natives are born with instinctual knowledge to steward lands? And do it EXCEPTIONALLY well? This is insulting and the most stupid comment I’ve ever heard

It’s also being pushed that under Indian leadership, that they can be “stewards” of climate change. WHAT ??????? When did that happen? Are they trying to acquire the rights to the weather too?

…...“The USDA Forest Service’s Community Forest and Open Space Conservation Program, known as the Community Forest Program or CFP, is a competitive grant that provides financial resources to Tribal entities, local governments, and qualified conservation non-profits to re-acquire land.”…..

……..“There are reasons the program is important to Tribes. One, the CFP is among the many strategies that help support Tribal land re-acquisition efforts, WHICH ARE PROVING TO BE IMPERATIVE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE” ………..

Sargent York picked the whole column off this time.

So we know what they have done to us and where they are doing it from. We also know who.

Jeff is exposing lies and winning the battle of words.

But, if you expose lies and win the battle of words you get killed from college rooftops. I joke about the Pelt stuff.. That's our country now. Where are you Neil Young, where are you Springsteen. Where are the poet Laureates to craft the clever theme to that one. Know I expect God or the magnificent being with an orb a hellfire cant shoot down...you better do something...Liars and losers winning..Doesn't sound right.

Keep going Jeff. Please keep going. If that's what happens to me on the hill that matters to me so be it.

Wow, @Jeff Tozzer, Excellent work, again!

Like another reader commented - what do we do to stop the unethical, improper and inappropriate actions unfolding?

The 3 Kings of Clallam (Ozias, Johnson and French) are paying off the Tribe with freebies, land, and Social/Political backing.

The target outcome is unacceptable to the common Taxpayer, and is nothing short of Reparations!

I say - NO KINGS IN CLALLAM!

Jeff writes, "In plain English: our county commissioner has declared that expanding a sovereign nation’s land base is part of his job." Are you kidding me? A County Commissioner's job should be the exact opposite, vigorously defending the county land/tax base against permanent loss. The tribal land grab reminds of the "reconquista" rhetoric I heard growing up in SoCal, where the (illegal, mostly) Mexican population prophesied taking back California by simply overwhelming it with sheer numbers. Here it's "reconquista" by heavily influencing elected decision makers.

Politics to the highest bidder .It's a very corrupt system state ,local politics has become .241 million in lobby ,donations a year where the politicians have become bought .They should have patches on their clothes like race car drivers have .Amazon,Microsoft ,Gates Foundation ,Tribes ,Canada Timber ,So how can We change things by being divided into 2 parties ,or independent where most voters don't even know who the person running for a office is and what's the point it's always the same nothing changes ? So voter apathy has crept in something like only 12 % vote .We if we want real change We have to start a new movement something all people can get behind that want change . Call it the no lobby money movement ,or No 1,% tax.something people can unite on instead of being divided on issues purposely created by the Elites to stay in control .Not a anger movement that feeds negative energy that riles people up

There is too much of that out there as we all saw with guy getting shot last night.? A movement where people are the middle way which is where most people are .with politics .With what works and what doesn't work .Having commissioners owned by lobby money doesn't work for " Everybody " only a select few .Promoting drug pacification because of the Elites lobby money destroys cities as Port Angeles has become Poor Angeles.Lets start a grass roots movement with Thoughtful People to bring change..Imagine if 50 people showed up to Commissioners meeting with T shirts on that said No New Taxes that might get their attention .

We saw Charlie Kirk, 31 year old husband, father, and respected humanitarian assassinated. That is evil. The assassin is evil. Evil lives in different forms and can invade any segment of society. Last Friday, I saw 8647 on a sign placed on a corner of Sequim Square by the Indivisible group, who were protesting whatever. If these protesters are your family, friends, neighbors, fellow congregants, or coworkers - beware. Their intent is harm to anyone who disagrees with them. Today is 9/11, and we mourn the tragedies of evil acts done to our country all in the name of righteousness by a foreign country. Pray for our country and all those who have lost loved ones. We are a strong nation built with grit and determination. That is our foundation. NEVER let anyone take that away from you. GOD BLESS CHARLIE KIRK AND OUR BELOVED COUNTRY, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!.

MK, very interesting. She’s asking for more money so a Tribe can move to higher ground(same old same old) It’s never enough. When the Tribes ask for more money it’s always because Natives get sicker, have less access, less education, less food, less housing, more disease, more poverty, more addictions than anyone else in the US. How does that work when no matter how much is thrown at that hungry beast it’s never satiated?

…..Tribal Environmental Resiliency Resources Act (TERRA Act)…. “Over the past decade, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe, a Pacific Coast Tribe on Willapa Bay in Northwest

Washington, has battled increased erosion, flooding, and sea level rise, as well as heightened tsunami risk. With a reservation barely 15 feet above sea level, the Tribe launched a community-driven relocation project to seek higher ground”…..

So, as I read it, we are to pay to move them to higher ground while nonnatives don’t have the same option, but are hurting worse.

It's the fault of apathetic, unengaged Clallam County voters, not the fault of the tribal leadership with a vision and plan. Our elected leaders are afflicted with white guilt and, lacking necessary leadership skills, find it easier to be influenced and led by a special interest group.

We need to know what can be done? Can we the people form non profits to protect county property from continued foreign take over? Fighting the “wait and hope we get elected people who care about non-tribal land use” is like watching paint dry. The Charter Review Committee is not interested in the public’s concern to shackle County Commissioners conflict of interest issues, so what can be done that will begin to stop the bleeding of land grab? How do we fight fire with fire, cause right now all we’ve got is information with no teeth. Showing up to talk for 3 minutes every week and writing to CC is like pissing in a strong wind as my husband would say.

Regarding: "2023 “Standing Out in the Field” ceremony, NOLT opened with a land acknowledgment emphasizing the harms of colonization."

There is a "colonization" going on now, by the Tribe. What is that casino resort? Is that "restoration"? The golf course; all of the homes that they have purchased and are renovating; the business properties that they have purchased. Are those part of the "restoration"?

This is a load of malarkey. I think that I might have to get out soon, before it's too late. It's past the point of no return, if the local government is allowing, facilitating, this land grab.

We're out of a hospital, we're being overtaxed, and they're trying to "steal" (or get really cheap) our land and homes.

A portion of the Point No Point Treaty -

ARTICLE 7.

“The President may hereafter, when in his opinion the interests of the Territory shall require, and the welfare of said Indians be promoted, remove them from said reservation to such other suitable place or places within said Territory as he may deem fit, on remunerating them for their improvements and the expenses of their removal; or may consolidate them with other friendly tribes or bands. And . . . “

Article 9. Promise to be friendly to and pledge to commit no depredations on property of citizens of the Territory.

Using fear to acquire bluff and other properties at ‘fire sale’ rates is not exercising friendship. It’s depredation. The same applies to other actions involving dams, culverts, hatcheries, and the fish.

None of this stops until we stop writing checks to fund the very government that is aiding and abetting our demise. EN MASSE. We can not continue to tacitly support their causes by funding them with our money.

I actually disagree. All taxes have been proven to be used against us through NGO manipulation. The IRS can do nothing and neither can any government entity if it is EN MASSE. One guy not paying taxes is problem for him. 10,000 people not paying taxes is problem for them. 10,000,000 not paying taxes puts an end to their agenda.

While I agree with the income tax issue, 10,000 will not get it when more than 20,000,000 didn't get it in the 1970's. I would like to see you get 50 people into a Clallam County Commissioner meeting.

Its a romantic idea not paying your taxes. My rural neighbor 25 years ago got caught up in the "Sovereign Citizen Freeman Movement". He Harper to me how paying taxes was voluntary and he was protected by law. He lost his home and his wife divorced him. Last I heard he was living in a trailer park.

I'm telling you what we can do. Until we stand up together and stop funding our own demise individually, it will not stop. Don't get me wrong it's amazing what this CCWD community is doing and it's main mission of education si spreading like wildfire, but we don't stop them by complaining. We don't stop them by shining light on them. We don't stop them by attending meetings and we don't stop them by voting. We stop them by removing our money.
