The commissioners did not answer yesterday's email. Here is today's question:
Dear Commissioners,
Several county leaders — including the Prosecuting Attorney, the Sheriff, the Police Chief, and a state legislator — have all said they’re willing to show up to a public town hall on public safety, harm-reduction outcomes, and out-of-county offenders. Why haven’t the county commissioners responded, and will you commit to attending a public forum so residents can ask these questions directly?
If it were Ron Allen, the League of Women voters, Invisable Sequim, or the timber industry, you would have received a reply. You have to be a Canadian or a tribal members to be worth their time away from watching the Dean Witter portfolio.
“We need to understand that the majority of Americans despise Donald Trump and we need to support each other because there are a whole lot of people out there who wish to save democracy in America.” — Commissioner Mark Ozias in Clallam Democrats Rising----- Yet he does a lot of the same style. Pot meet Kettle.
Speaking of lavish praise disconnected from data at city council meetings, the ceremony and praise for LSW and his work around housing is an interesting contrast to the building report on page 230 something at the end of packet of the same meeting
We have an uphill battle, with all the lack of voter integrity. We are finding more and more cases of non citizens voting unchecked. Commissioners Walzing around with impunity will come to an end. Especially when Tim is going to take a ton of heat from all his state scams, I'm sure he took profit on....
Let this stuff come to light and we have a chance. These people can not exist in the light!
Some civic engagement is a great way to progress the conversations here to in-person conversations with Mimi and others who are tired of the same old, same old. I enjoy her perspectives. Excellent.
To the solo efforts of Virginia Shogren. What a testament to what a single person can accomplish, albeit her attorney background, but we've seen other examples (Eric Fehrman wrt to the Hospital agreeing to recording public meetings), and others I can't recall but all the same the message is clear. More people are engaged and trying to figure out what they can do beyond banging on a keyboard at 6:30am, and while I'd like to think that we're moving the needle, it's clearly bending!
Our elected leaders should be focused on the good citizens of Clallam County, and when spending our tax dollars do it in the most efficient and transparent manner. Commissioner Ozias is not interested in Clallam County citizens, he's using every one of us to further his personal agenda. I'm sure there are those who voted for him specifically for what he's doing, but I want someone who authentically cares and wants to represent the good citizens because it's the right thing to do.
The distinction between the Jamestown Corporation is an important. I have no issues with the Jamestown people whatsoever, but I see the Corporation no different than Walmart or any other corporation that the public demands equal footing within every other measure where they generate bigger profits while the people struggle to make ends meet. If the Jamestown Corporation at a minimum shared profits with their members in a meaningful way like some other tribal corporations do then I'd find them more palatable, but at least publicly traded corporations allow others to invest and share in the profits.

All three county commissioners can be reached by emailing the Clerk of the Board at loni.gores@clallamcountywa.gov.

Please keep it coming.
Good morning all.
So much happening here in today's post.
