I keep thinking about that woman Dave talks about in the Bible who pushed through the thick crowd just to touch the edge of Jesus' coat. She wasn't looking for attention or putting on a show for an audience. She didn't care what people thought of her or what they would say later. She had absolute tunnel vision. Her mind was entirely focused on her sickness, his coat, and the twelve years she had suffered. She knew she just had to get to him. Maybe that is the best answer we can get for now. There is no magic formula to make a miracle happen whenever we want, and there shouldn't be. It is just a strong feeling—learned slowly by looking at a garden full of weeds and dandelions—that the great things Jesus promised us are not locked away. They are just buried under a row of weeds we haven't finished pulling yet.

The money to create "defensive space" has been there for over a year. No attempt to get the grant have been made because the state is suing the policy. The hospitality industry is easier when you don't have to pay the taxes. When or if you can show me the books that they in fact pay taxes and are profitable I would be more impressed. A bit off topic, but being fairly characterized as senior, I have long lived the futile societal efforts to make us all the same. Every human on the planet is genetically unique; a one of. Yet efforts creating and using MWBE, DEI, BLM, other nationality, skin colorization, "indigenous", sexual orientation and more are efforts that deny our generic uniqueness. All are divide and conquer efforts or more simply divisiveness. The selection of SWCA is a prime example. Was SWCA selected for their fire prevention acumen, or for their commitment to DEI ? The issue with all the above and in this specific case is what does DEI have to do with fire safety and prevention ? What societal efforts are being made to include and promote male, Caucasian and heterosexual participation ? (Sorry, a repeat) Some of us are tired of the same old line. We are tired of the forest and wildfire smoke. We are tired of watching trees burn when they have so many beneficial uses. Some roads and firebreaks and a decrease in the fuel load would make a good difference and allow the elderly and disabled more opportunities to get close to nature. That would provide more support, more people with something to lose.

Will gravity hamper heavier ones? Why can hydrogen and helium escape into space? Is the ozone still depleted without monoxide? (Thus, the need for more fires).
