Thanks for the shout out to our brave local businesses who not only run on a Washington State hamster wheel that makes it almost impossible to turn a profit, they have to deal with the street crowd our law enforcement officials told us they could do nothing about because Olympia won't let them...
A stakeholder is any person, group, or organization that can affect, be affected by, or has an interest in a decision, project, policy, or organization..
So we all are the stakeholders, but the most important stakeholder for economic growth is our businesses. The city and county government officials hold the formal power. They are responsible for allocating resources toward homeless services, setting the policies and ordinances that dictate how public spaces can be used legally, and mandating law enforcement authority.
Our present local government has failed this fiduciary duty (the legal and ethical responsibility to act in the best interests of businesses) How do we know they are failing? Our eyes (and nose) tell us so. No amount of graphs or uplifting presentations changes the downward spiral that the present County Commissioners has created. If what we see and smell is the best they can do, it’s not enough.
