But will the CRC listen? My guess is that there's going to be some shenanigans to keep the water steward position alive, as in we're all too stupid to know what's good for us.

Is this the "hill" for CC residents to take a stand on?

"The people of this state do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies which serve them. The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed and informing the people's public servants of their views so that they may retain control over the instruments they have created. For these reasons, even when not required by law, public agencies are encouraged to incorporate and accept public comment during their decision-making process."

What's your point? I feel like I might be missing it.

WA state has the RAA for water. I'm ok with that.

Gotta appreciate how strongly skewed the wording was for the "water steward" position and people STILL voted against it! If that doesn't say something....

The survey committee said only three comments were received. And she read them. I know for certain my comments weren't included and someone giving public comment said that theirs weren't included either. But the committee is adamant no other comments were submitted. That's not accurate.

Commissioner Patti Morris commented something about the 1400 her "...Verizon email.." account received. Why would a personal email be used?! How many emails were rejected/affected by her overloaded email server?

Jeff, your hard work is beginning to pay off. Congratulations, and please KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO. Most of the folks in this county are on your side and they want their constitutional government back. Things could get scarier soon so EVERYBODY keep your homes safe and locked up. Keep your guns clean and loaded. The DNC is all in on creating civil war with their paid NGO's and their webs of illegal alien antagonists in every blue city in the country. It's already started. Don't believe a thing you hear on mainstream news- they are bought and paid for by DNC and Soros and other globalists. Seattle is likely to erupt in the coming days and we may get some spillover. Protect yourselves.

We see the corruption.

The stupidity of the average human today..

Thank you Jeff for bringing a big balz approach!

Your courtroom candor is charming and “spot the crap on”!!

To all of us getting involved, city, county, school… home… wherever you are making the difference get mad… get real mad.

I understand what you're saying, but I'll just throw out that I think that what we're up against is a system/structure of people who use a lot of smarts to get what they've gotten so far. Many commenters here provide usable/ actionable information and this is what helps when people attend meetings and can talk to specifics vs. generalized disagreement. A long gane is being played against the common person, and we're not going to turn this around overnight. The vigilence is a normal daily requirement anymore.

Now the question is what are the steps to get the commissioners to adhere to the voice of the people.

If history is the predictor, there is one or more members members who think that the voice of only one "people" is needed to set the direction for the rest. As we current are witnessing, corruption starts at the "Local Level" where those in power use deception and double-speak to obscure transparency and truth.

As the 1926 edition of the Saturday Evening Post states "Throw the bums out." referring to asking the voters to replace those in power for being ineffective or/and corrupt.

Double speak like the reworking of the Initiatives of the last General Election. A Yes means No and a No means yes. Tricky stuff like a school bond rolled out in a special election announced during the holidays and voted on when snowbirds are in Arizona. Don't underestimate your adversary. There is no compromise. They/Them want what they want. They/Them are willing to achieve their agenda by subterfuge. They/Them have the power of incumbency. You and me my friends are their enemy. Looked upon as pesky gnats whose opinions are not valid. The only thing they/them fear are overwhelming opposing numbers at the ballot box. They/them will endeavor to enact their agenda without public comment or without a vote. They/them need to be convinced that their agenda is political suicide. Even then I'm not sure they/them are capable of recognizing the folly of their positions. The confirmation bias has a firm grip on their thinking.

Thanks Jeff for sending this out.

But I am really annoyed right now because I wanted to participate in the survey myself.

I’m usually keeping up on things.

And now I’m wondering how I missed it.

What method did they use to send the survey out?

I think it was on the county website (so, no one would have seen it). I did an article called "Survey of suppression" a while back. https://www.ccwatchdog.com/p/a-survey-of-suppression?utm_source=publication-search

When the comments about the low number of votes was made i had two thoughts.

1. How was the survey opportunity communicated to the citizens of the county?

2. How many people voted for Charter Commissioners?

Expand full comment
Kathleen S's avatar

The trouble with your published survey results? Only 1445(+/-) voters participated. Nothing is overwhelming for any of the topics….its a statistical insignificant survey result (considering the number of voters in our county). Most voters paid no attention to this survey, sadly.

Expand full comment
MK's avatar

When compared to the previous survey of 40 people, 1445 is significant. It's significant as in its far more than the occasional comments at CRC meetings, or letters written to the commissioners.

It's sad that you didn't respond to the survey, but maybe you had already decided that it was insignificant.

Still, not statistically significant.

Why would you think that1445 participants was insignificant???? It only took 90 participants to close Towne Rd.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Expand full comment
Kathleen S's avatar

Well, we’re talking county wide. Most county residents didn’t care about town road and probably paid no attention. The charter review will be on a county wide election cycle. County wide vs CC Watchdog readers would be an entirely different outcome ( one would speculate)

Clearly last nights reading of the survey was upsetting to Commissioner Stoffer. His comments were biased, he does not like listening to the common people of the county. His only desire is to be acknowledged by tribal government and has an extreme far left socialist ideology mentality.

Also, last time a survey was taken, did I hear correctly? Commissioner Morris received 40 replies? AND why is her personal Email being used?
