Besides, your scenario assumes that someone would call the police if they had to shoot someone in self-defense and I am not sure that is always the case, ESPECIALLY in a jurisdiction where criminals run the government and the police. We are not in the country that most assume that they live in. I have seen MANY cases of criminals venturing into the country environment to cause trouble in my life, and American country folks don't always handle such matters by calling the police exactly because they can't trust that they will be treated reasonably (Constitutionally). We took a good look at the CDL area years ago, but neither of us knows much about the Southern Idaho area. Still, that is a long drive to the Portland Oregon area and my wife's mom lives there. We have some interesting Investments that could change our game significantly if they pay off, otherwise we will probably be looking to sell our property here to move on wherever shortly after the new year 2027... We do have a small ranch/farm, so moving is NOT easy for us and we need to do GOBZ of research before we leap ;-) We shall see~!

For instance, when we moved to Hawaii we had to fly 2 horses, 4 cats, 1 dog, and an African grey parrot~! Yesterday Mike French spoke of economic growth in this county and seeking more and more grants. I believe that the current “leaders” in this county defer far too much on grants. The county’s continued reliance on grant-funded programs as a primary economic development strategy does not work in my opinion. While grants can provide temporary support, they do not create sustained economic growth, particularly in rural counties like ours.
Decades of federal evaluations show that grant-funded activity is often short-term, administratively heavy, and fails to produce durable private-sector investment. Programs such as the Recompete Pilot follow this same pattern: they generate planning, consulting, and short-term workforce projects, but they do not build a lasting economic base. They provide very good pay and excellent benefits, better than many jobs in this county for a short period of time. These few government jobs created by as an example the Recompete funding does not stimulate the local economy.
Our county faces structural challenges—limited industry diversity, low population density, and a shortage of scalable employers—that grants simply cannot resolve. When grant dollars are spent on administration, compliance, and outside consultants, very little economic benefit remains in the community. Once the grant period ends, the activity ends with it.
Real economic development requires strengthening our local business ecosystem. Local businesses keep money circulating within the community and generate significantly higher economic multipliers than chain spending. Entrepreneurship creates jobs and reinvests profits locally. Infrastructure investments—broadband, transportation, utilities, and housing—are essential foundations for attracting residents and employers. Workforce development must be aligned with actual local industry needs, not theoretical pipelines created to satisfy grant requirements.
These strategies build long-term resilience and expand the tax base. Grants may supplement this work, but they cannot replace it. Our county deserves development models that produce measurable, lasting outcomes rather than temporary programs that disappear when the funding cycle ends.
I urge county leadership to prioritize approaches that strengthen local capacity, support private-sector growth, and reduce dependence on short-term federal grants. Sustainable economic development will come from investing in our people, our businesses, and our infrastructure—not from chasing grant cycles.

The same censorious set also claimed moral superiority during the pandemic and have run with it, never pausing to consider that they might actually be wrong about anything, never weighing someone else's right to think and exist differently than "the good people" mob, never weighing the harm they're part of.
This de-humanizing attitude has caused deep suffering that some would be appalled by if they'd take time to look beyond stereotypes and talk to those who think differently, instead of trying to silence other voices.
When there are appropriate parallels, most of the comments I leave on the CC Watchdog connect to covid vaccine injury and error-ridden public health policies because --although I care deeply about many other things-- hardly anyone else is talking about this ongoing catastrophe.
In this case, the same attitude Jeff writes about in this article connects to a bigger story of social contagion and ethical collapse.

Think about how you'd feel if someone you love was medically confirmed to have died from an adverse reaction to a medical product, then the obituary was labeled as misleading on social media and hoards of complaints from "the good people" flooded the newspaper because the truth of this tragedy wasn't in line with the messaging they defended.
To his credit, the editor of The Oregonian wrote a defense for publishing the family's true statements that 1) she didn't want the shot, 2) took it because it was mandated to volunteer at school, 3) she died from a rare adverse reaction.
He ended with the phrase: "Whether you agree with her position on vaccine mandates or not, she was so much more than an asterisk in this horrific pandemic."
She *died* because of a vaccine mandate.
Who in their right mind supports mandating a product that kills even one person?
Who in their right mind censors and abandons the injured and bereaved so that others don't hesitate to believe the comfortable lie that the products are safe?
Beloved people, remember your humanity! You are not "the good people" if you're on the side that responds to grief or pain with vitriol and shaming, or if you feel righteous when you cancel someone else's free speech and choose to smear and belittle instead of engage with ideas.
Another parallel to this article-- When I understood the depth of harm from these shots and the massive censorship campaign to cover it up (through personal connection to someone who suffered a serious adverse reaction and, later, the community of injured people who are fighting for each other and all of us).... I realized that no matter how many times I made public comments or tried to publish letters to the editors, it wasn't enough.
So I made a homemade sign and put it in my yard.
It was knocked down.
So I tied it to a lamp post.
It was turned around.
So we helped React19 make official yard signs which said "Restoring Hope for the Covid Vaccine Injured" and had the React19.org website where people could find access to things like medical grants for treatment, peer-reviewed papers for study, and the ability to connect with others who are suffering.
It had a nice lighthouse design -- a beacon of HOPE.
I put one up in my yard.
People stopped to talk with me about it while I was working in the garden. This is one of the ways I came to know about so many in our community who have been affected.
Then it got knocked down.
I put it back up.
Knocked down again and again and again.
Put up again and again and again.
Stolen.
That's insane! This was a message of hope for people who are hurting, stigmatized and cancelled by "the good people".
Please recognize that you're being steered to sneer at innocent neighbors who have been harmed and friendly neighbors who want to help them.
Just take Rolling Stone for example-- they've done smear pieces on a group of injured in the UK who were demanding reform and support, which prompted a "Thanks, Pfizer" meme that went around social media, mocking the tremors experienced by those who had neurological side effects to the shots. Even Duolingo jumped on board with a quivering mascot. They cancelled Eric Clapton because he dared to speak out about his own adverse reaction to the covid shot and refused to play at venues that enforced mandates, then demoted him in their list of their all-time great guitarists.
Or take the BBC, which got all excited about discovering that injured people were using a carrot emoji to "get away with" talking online about their injuries. Then the BBC worked with Facebook to censor them and proudly wrote about it to the cheers of "the good people".
In that article, a "disinformation researcher" stated: "It was people giving accounts of relatives who had died shortly after having the Covid-19 vaccine", he said. "But instead of using the words 'Covid-19' or 'vaccine', they were using emojis of carrots. Initially I was a little confused. And then it clicked - that it was being used as a way of evading, or apparently evading, Facebook's fake news detection algorithms."
When these online support groups were shut down at the behest of the Biden administration's pressure on Facebook, suffering people died of suicide. Some were hanging on by a thread after their own families cancelled them, doctors didn't believe them, and public health beat the "safe and effective" drum so loud that the collateral damage was crushed underfoot.
I've been so humbled by the contrasting attitude of the injured-- the grit, love, and determination to help others even through their own suffering. I pray for some big wins that may be on the horizon, fighting back on being censored by our own government.
More than that, though, I pray for a change in the attitudes and actions of my neighbors who try to express their own worth by trampling on the rights and lives of others.
--Not only so that the injured and bereaved may finally receive support and mercy, but also so that we can turn a page on these awful years, acknowledge what happened, and build something different and better, starting right here in our own community. That will take humility and grace, but I think we have it in us.

Yes it is a different story. Every facility, private office , hospital, pharmacy and clinic has your info before you head through that door. Well, I am very happy that I have never had to shoot anyone, but if I feel that my life or others are at serious risk it really does not matter what state I am in. Besides, your scenario assumes that someone would call the police if they had to shoot someone in self-defense and I am not sure that is always the case, ESPECIALLY in a jurisdiction where criminals run the government and the police. We are not in the country that most assume that they live in. I have seen MANY cases of criminals venturing into the country environment to cause trouble in my life, and American country folks don't always handle such matters by calling the police exactly because they can't trust that they will be treated reasonably (Constitutionally). I have no crystal ball, but what I have been monitoring is the long-awaited rejection of this disgusting socialist (actually communist) assault upon America that over 60 years ago was called "creeping socialism". In fact, the good folks of Oregon have come a long way in waking up to their rigged elections, that have been corrupted for about 50 years now, so the times they are A changin'~! I am not sure that the good folks of Washington State have suffered enough just yet, but they will until they have had enough... Idaho is not a bad choice, and we have been keeping it on our radar, but my long-suffering wife has some family in Oregon that we may need to live closer to if things keep deteriorating in Washington and Oregon. We took a good look at the CDL area years ago, but neither of us knows much about the Southern Idaho area. Still, that is a long drive to the Portland Oregon area and my wife's mom lives there. We have some interesting Investments that could change our game significantly if they pay off, otherwise we will probably be looking to sell our property here to move on wherever shortly after the new year 2027... We do have a small ranch/farm, so moving is NOT easy for us and we need to do GOBZ of research before we leap ;-) We shall see~!

Well, as someone who has for many decades relocated a great many times to experience this beautiful country, the trick to leaving one beautiful place is to relocate to another equally or even more beautiful place~! Sometimes it is easier than others ;-) We have a number of good friends here that we would miss and that always matters. Our case is always challenging because of our animals that are family. For instance, when we moved to Hawaii we had to fly 2 horses, 4 cats, 1 dog, and an African grey parrot~! It is a matter of complicated logistics for us to move, and we would prefer that our next move is one that sticks ;-) Additionally, the entire US (and world) is under this ruthless attack from the communists, and their evil knows no bounds, so moving to escape this assault is ultimately a losing strategy because nowhere is safe~! Idaho has some excellent advantages, today, however there are definitely some serious problems there as well... Be encouraged however, because these Godless satanic & Luciferian communists are being destroyed and their evil empire has already suffered tremendous damage~! For example, the unlawful unconstitutional "federal reserve" has been all but terminated and that power was already very quietly returned to the US government (and We The People) quite a while ago. Yesterday Mike French spoke of economic growth in this county and seeking more and more grants. I believe that the current “leaders” in this county defer far too much on grants. The county’s continued reliance on grant-funded programs as a primary economic development strategy does not work in my opinion. While grants can provide temporary support, they do not create sustained economic growth, particularly in rural counties like ours.
Decades of federal evaluations show that grant-funded activity is often short-term, administratively heavy, and fails to produce durable private-sector investment. Programs such as the Recompete Pilot follow this same pattern: they generate planning, consulting, and short-term workforce projects, but they do not build a lasting economic base. They provide very good pay and excellent benefits, better than many jobs in this county for a short period of time. These few government jobs created by as an example the Recompete funding does not stimulate the local economy.
Our county faces structural challenges—limited industry diversity, low population density, and a shortage of scalable employers—that grants simply cannot resolve. When grant dollars are spent on administration, compliance, and outside consultants, very little economic benefit remains in the community. Once the grant period ends, the activity ends with it.
Real economic development requires strengthening our local business ecosystem. Local businesses keep money circulating within the community and generate significantly higher economic multipliers than chain spending. Entrepreneurship creates jobs and reinvests profits locally. Infrastructure investments—broadband, transportation, utilities, and housing—are essential foundations for attracting residents and employers. Workforce development must be aligned with actual local industry needs, not theoretical pipelines created to satisfy grant requirements.
These strategies build long-term resilience and expand the tax base. Grants may supplement this work, but they cannot replace it. Our county deserves development models that produce measurable, lasting outcomes rather than temporary programs that disappear when the funding cycle ends.
I urge county leadership to prioritize approaches that strengthen local capacity, support private-sector growth, and reduce dependence on short-term federal grants. Sustainable economic development will come from investing in our people, our businesses, and our infrastructure—not from chasing grant cycles.

Think about how you'd feel if someone you love was medically confirmed to have died from an adverse reaction to a medical product, then the obituary was labeled as misleading on social media and hoards of complaints from "the good people" flooded the newspaper because the truth of this tragedy wasn't in line with the messaging they defended.
To his credit, the editor of The Oregonian wrote a defense for publishing the family's true statements that 1) she didn't want the shot, 2) took it because it was mandated to volunteer at school, 3) she died from a rare adverse reaction.

It had a nice lighthouse design -- a beacon of HOPE.
I put one up in my yard.
People stopped to talk with me about it while I was working in the garden. This is one of the ways I came to know about so many in our community who have been affected.
Then it got knocked down.
I put it back up.
Knocked down again and again and again.
Put up again and again and again.
Stolen.
That's insane! This was a message of hope for people who are hurting, stigmatized and cancelled by "the good people".
Please recognize that you're being steered to sneer at innocent neighbors who have been harmed and friendly neighbors who want to help them.
Just take Rolling Stone for example-- they've done smear pieces on a group of injured in the UK who were demanding reform and support, which prompted a "Thanks, Pfizer" meme that went around social media, mocking the tremors experienced by those who had neurological side effects to the shots. Yes it is a different story. Every facility, private office , hospital, pharmacy and clinic has your info before you head through that door. Sell OMC. Running a Hospital and associated services has evolved in complexity. It’s not realistic to expect elected officials to have a clue how to keep the red ink from flowing.
