I may be seeing this differently, but this sign issue could actually help Seegers.

Yes, fix the signs. Rules matter. But every replaced sign is also a reason to reconnect with supporters, thank them, explain what happened, and ask if their neighbors want a corrected sign too.

What was meant to reduce campaign visibility may accidentally create a second wave of it.

It also gives Seegers a simple accountability message: we made a technical mistake, fixed it, and showed up in person.

That is the irony. If this much urgency can be applied to campaign-sign formatting, voters can fairly ask why the same urgency is not applied to housing, public safety, taxes, land-use fairness, and trust in county government.

"Fix the signs. Knock on the doors. Grow the campaign."

Exactly what I was thinking too, Dr.! An unintentional good Rx!

Angry Yes! Surprised NO! The liberal base of our county is more focused on trivial matters than actions. They should spend more energy on the problems they have caused than a sign. They can not form solutions or policies that make sense. We are in an uphill battle that we need to win. A French sign should have to say Communist on it speaking of sheep. He needs to go. I am going to have my coffee and give a toast to Vote Jake!

The liberal Clallam county democrats worry about their powers and not the common-sense policies of everyday life. The Clallam county democrats are COMMUNIST, backed by former Judge, military, and police retirees, all of whom swore to uphold the Constitutions of Washington and the United States, foreign and domestic...

Good morning Jeff, Jake, and all Doggers,

Well welcome to the slimy side of politics...please ALL take notice of the origins of the slime!

Jeff you and Jake are correct in your thinking this county deserves so much more than party politics. The games played are old and we are tired of wasted dollars !

Jake Seegers is the correct candidate for Clallam county because if French has his way we'll be taxed into oblivion. That's how he gets things done...

Thank you all and have a beautiful Sunday!

I had no idea the font on Jake Seegers sign/s was larger than beauracracy dictates. Clearly this makes him an unqualified candidate - - - or does it matter at all. That mistake is appropriately filed under what a chicken leaves behind. Mike French is a Democrat Party Lemming. If you are content with the status quo, he is worth consideration. If you hope for better, change in particular, French is not your huckleberry. Perhaps impossible, but try to ignore any political party affiliation and look at the candidates and their platforms. Mike French is unquestionably more of the same; another form of nothing.

Targeted nitpicking is so toxic.

well, it occurs to me that it is the same 'tactic' that they used to obliterate the previous mayor of Sequim. I wonder when this will hit national news?!

We have individuals who have held positions of influence for years, yet their record shows little meaningful contribution to the betterment of this community. Instead of producing results, we see a steady stream of distractions — outrage over signage, fonts, addresses, and other manufactured controversies that do nothing to improve the lives of Clallam County residents.

These “shiny objects” are not leadership. They are deflection. When people lack accomplishments to point to, they often turn to noise, anger, and division to fill the void. That may serve their political interests, but it does nothing for public safety, environmental health, or community well being.

Meanwhile, residents like Jake and others are doing the work that actually matters. They are documenting environmental damage, cleaning up neglected areas, and showing the public what is happening on the ground — especially for those who cannot see it firsthand. They are asking the right questions: Is it essential? Is it effective? Does it help the people of this county?

That is the standard we should expect from anyone who claims to serve this community.

The contrast is stark. On one side, we have individuals focused on measurable improvements. On the other, we have individuals focused on generating conflict. One approach builds trust. The other erodes it.

Stay focused on substance, not spectacle. Clallam County deserves leaders who produce results, not distractions. We will continue to watch for the next “shiny object,” but more importantly, we will continue to support and recognize those who are doing real, tangible good for this county.

Easy peasy to donate to Jake’s campaign online to help pay for new signs. 😉

Also, I was hesitant to display a sign because of my location. However, once production has caught up, I will post one.

Good job writing this piece, Jeff Tozzer. I like your comment “keeps the focus on political alignment over independent evaluation.”

Is it ambition that drives those platforms and forums, incompetence or a cult like mentality? Eliminating critical thinking skills to conform to an out of touch ideological definition of Democracy is something I too ponder and question. Especially, since my grandparents were hardcore liberal Democrats back in the day. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to understand their political framework. One observation I did make when they were alive is that having to to take responsibility and fight for your freedoms frames your world view in a drastically different light as opposed to being given a free pass that is usually not valued and more often than not, taken for granted.

In today’s political climate, you have to be a fighter, if you’re not fighter, step down and let the fighters pave a way for common sense.

All the better to get more folks to vote for Jake. How do I get a sign for my yard?

Now I know what Pickett and Stoffer have been busy with, and it's not working for their constituents - taking photos and documenting Seeger signs! WOW, what a great example of community spirit! 2 Bozos no doubt, wasting taxpayers $$ driving around wasting energy, doing righteous deeds for the party of DO-NOTHINGS. Sick.

Seems fair.$30000 for font. No consequences for nearly all other REAL offenses. Wake up CC.

The cry baby radical democrats are willing to use any tactic to discourage their election opponents,it just shows their undesirable mentality. This petty sign issue and the maximum amount of the fine the radicals are suggesting jake to get fined for is appalling. The sooner clallam co voters get rid of all the democrats in office the better.I have 4 gererations here and have never of so much negative feedback about a political group as the current democrat party in clallam county mostly involving french, ozias, johnson,dr.berry, stoffer, fisch ect ect ect.
