Transparency is the bedrock of accountability, and this piece on "Selective Outrage" hits the nail on the head in exposing how cherry-picking indignation undermines trust in our institutions. The author’s call to confront uncomfortable facts—like the disproportionate outrage over certain political figures while glossing over others’ misdeeds—demands a clear, unfiltered lens on reality. Hiding behind selective narratives isn’t just hypocrisy; it’s a deliberate shield for those in power who thrive in the shadows.

Full disclosure of facts, whether they sting or soothe, is non-negotiable. When the public only gets half the story—say, endless scrutiny of one side’s scandals while another’s are buried—it’s not just bias; it’s manipulation. Transparency cuts through that noise. It forces everyone, from politicians to media, to stand in the light and answer for their actions, not just the ones that fit the preferred script. The piece rightly challenges us to demand consistency, and that starts with raw, unvarnished openness. Anything less is a disservice to truth and a green light for those who’d rather operate unseen. Let’s push for all the cards on the table—every time, no exceptions.

I read your post. While I appreciate that you are actively handing out fire extinguishers, that doesn't mean they guy yelling FIRE and pointing towards exits is useless. Unless handing out the extinguishers without the rest is also useless.

It sounds like, beyond assisting in shedding light and fighting fires, you have a personal agenda as well.

A shame you felt it necessary to taint your good work with shading of others efforts; efforts purportedly aimed in the same direction as your own.

Jason, Jeff lies and I’m highlighting it. That’s the point of this substack—to highlight Jeff’s lies and manipulation. I’m a “tick” (Ixodes is the genus name for a deer tick) on a “watchdog”—get it. This specific post highlights how EASY it is for folks to find info Jeff pushes out last minutes under the guise of him having some unique insight. So, I didn’t taint or shade anything; I’m painted it in big bright letters: This substack is about exposing Jeff (an elected official) as a liar and manipulator. Also, yelling “FIRE” in a crowded theater is a crime, unless there’s really a fire. Jeff is yelling “FIRE” all over the place—and he’ll even manipulated documents to make his case. (See my first post, “Vegan in Furs”—hint, Jeff’s the Vegan.) I also appreciate your very kind words about my good work. Thanks for reading and commenting!

They've have taken an oath,

and we're coming in third,

Sworn allegiance to the thunderbird.

Its all just part of "respecting" and "honoring" their "stewardship" to these lands, but it looks like they do "work" on their "appropriated homeland."

https://www.noprcd.org/

We acknowledge that we live and work on the appropriated homeland and territory of the Jamestown S’Klallam, Port Gamble Klallam, Lower Elwha Klallam, Makah, Quileute, Hoh and Quinault Tribes. We respect and honor their stewardship of these lands in the past, present and future and their Treaty Rights and status as sovereign nations.

Recognizing our past for disease, unfair dealings, oppressions and attempted erasure of their culture. Now "Colonization" owed them so we are "repairing" a "relationship."

https://www.straitern.org/

We acknowledge and honor the ancestral areas of the qʷidiččaʔa·tx̌ (Makah), nəxʷsƛ̕áy̕əm̕ (Klallam) and t͡ʃə́mqəm (Chimacum) Peoples, who have stewarded the land and waters from Cape Flattery to Point Wilson throughout hundreds of generations. We respect their sovereignty and support their Treaty rights and right to self-determination. Through disease, unfair dealings, oppression, and attempted erasure of their culture, these people have endured and continue to honor their cultural traditions.

Living more sustainably requires us to think holistically and long-term – not just to look forward to the future, but to recognize our past. Colonization has shaped the reality of everyone here today. We take this opportunity to acknowledge that fact and express our desire to be part of the much-needed process of learning about our “landcestry” and repairing relationships with the original people of these lands and waters, as an investment in the generations to come.

Now I ask you.

Are these the kinds of Non-government organizations we want or county officials joining.?

Tomorrow I ask the Commissioners.

No, we don't want our county officials joining NGO's. It has turned them into occupational pickpockets who apply distraction so we don't notice the theft. I don't think the commissioners, or their spouses, will be glad to see tomorrow Mr Worthington, but they sure will know you're there!

The 4 million a year from BIA sign I held up ruined the schtick. Its hard to tell someone who paid trillions to the tribe over 40 years, that they are guilty of "oppression" "unfair dealings," after all these years. They forget the BIA sticker price. They hated that. That was the sign Mark's wife chased down the hall.

BIA budget for 2024 was over 4 Billion. Are you saying that 4 Million of that went to the local tribes?

Expand full comment
John Worthington's avatar

It was 2.9 by my research in 2025. 2.9 billion divided by 475 comes out to 2.9 billion / 475 6, 105 263.16, per tribe. Of course the BIA has plenty of two grand a week to play hide and seek going on. No telling what the local tribes get per tribe.

Point being, if tax payers committed 2.9 billion dollars to tribes to take care of them, where is the broken relationship?? I think its virtue signaling to justify three new local NGO's...staffed with more people playing hide and seek for a grand a week.

They hardly 'stewarded' the land! They were rapacious consumers as they have always been...no different than any other human group. Look at the current rapacious behavior in land acquisition with suspicious funding and burdening us all with the 'special' projects to 'enhance' salmon habitat. Not saying we shouldn't do the right thing by the environment but we are being saddled with literally insurmountable debt to carry out these projects and 'the tribe' has become a small 'g' god to many (who are as yet still very comfortable in their reality.) 'They' have no idea the pain that's coming for all of us with this insane system which has been created with no connection to reality.

Maybe Nero 'fiddled' because there was nothing else to be done at that point.

If Trump's team is successful it is still going to be a decades long process to turn the 'ship-of-state' in a better direction. It's hard work being a little less insane than the completely insane!🤪

Trump knows there needs to be a pivot. I just don't think he can articulate what it is we pivot to. So far so good, but its easier to win the hearts and minds when they know we have better options than paying thousands of people a grand a week to play hide and seek.

The question at every meeting should be "What is the plan to deal with a shrinking tax base?" Over and over again press the issue that Clallam County is loosing property taxes, sales tax, gas tax, trucking taxes etc and they are pretending it is not happening. It's not racist to present the facts and ask our representatives "What is the plan?"

With any objective scrutiny of the historical function of Government it is clear that unless controlled Government will become the only employer in our country. What does tax financing art, DEI, OMWBE, MWBE, LGBTQ+, etc. have to do with infrastructure and safety ? Private charitable organizations like Churches and/or philanthropists can and do address the disadvantaged and art. I do not want my taxes for infrastructure and safety diverted to charities I have not chosen. If more infrastructure and safety money is needed, raise taxation on sovereign lands within our borders.

I have already sent comments to DOGE_INT, on X, complaining about how this entire "reparations" concept, while noble initially, is now being abused by the Tribes' casino operations and wanton decimation of the salmon population for profit, not sustenance or tradition, and the wealth is being used to buy politicians and assure favoritism. The Tribes pay no taxes, but strongly influence the taxes we pay. It's time for us ALL to be Americans and pay our fair share of taxes and be equal.

If my points were read at all, I suspect that DOGE has MUCH bigger fish to fry first, and strongly question if they will ever get to it, as 4,758,274 activist judges interfere with anything the current government does to rein in fraud and abuse.

These commissioners have to make one wonder...who exactly are they working for? Are they doing their best to protect the interests of those who elected them? Or are they working for Tribe who funds their campaigns so they can fund their NGOs that pay for their junkets to Washington, DC? I don't suppose there is a district attorney, or maybe an ethics officer around who would check into those questions? Probably not.

There are a multitude of articles Jeff has written about the problem with ethics, or when a DA will become involved. Let your voice be heard at the BOCCC and CRC public comment portions.

Basically CC had an actual program which was stripped away by previous progressive commissioners. The belief is that it mirrors state law which has to do with criminal violations in which case the DA would be involved. Absent that the ethics mechanism is voting or recall.
