Jeff, have I told you how much I enjoy and value your column? I sincerely appreciate the effort you put into making the public aware of what the PDN and Gazette do not. Everyone here-- imagine how in the dark we all would be without Jeff. The handful of people who would attend these meetings would have trouble getting the word out to the "82,345" other visitors to this site. Your hard work, Jeff, is invaluable! THANK YOU!

With all due respect; if we are living in the dark, it is of our own volition. I do appreaciate Jeff's sleuthing abilities, but education is prioritized, and the responsibility by and of the individual. Assessing and absorbing information require considerable time to digest and assimilate into our belief system, or to regurgitate and continue the quest for... "Education is an admirable thing, but is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught." Thanks, Jeff, you are appreaciated.

I agree, but most of the people around here are completely oblivious to the reality of what's going on. They believe the local birdcage liners tell all. The television they watch also doesn't mention it, nor does the Seattle Times. To me, that means most of three things: Most of the people either approve of it, are unaware of it, or don't care. And since it is the majority of the voters that decide these things, clueless voters get the government they deserve, to the detriment of the rest of us.

True we have clueless voters but that's not quite enough to 'swing' the vote.

That's why computers come in handy for tallying them...also ballot stuffing and other fraud.

To think it doesn't happen here is naive!😱

Ask yourself why the county in November promoted watching the ballots being counted with a "Live Feed" video link. Yet when you logged on you saw nobody at the table (no one) and zero counting of ballots. Why did the county promote watching the "Live Feed" only to view an empty room. Get back to me when there is credibility in local elections.

When our co commissioners respond and mostly likely not while embedded and new fangled groups provide the agenda, it's no wonder really that people are UNINFORMED, FEEL HELPLESS AND DONT KNOW WHERE TO TURN.

Maybe we need a Steward like that to advice us. Oh, that would be a co commissioner.

Yes, it does take some curiosity and a little willingness to light the darkness.

Willful ignorance is pretty common when folks are comfortable enough.

I think that's going to be changing 'soon'.

Pain is our friend...it just doesn't feel friendly...I'm tired of mine for sure but still willing to learn and grow through it.

Some we can help...some we can't...the wisdom to know the difference is the challenge now!😊

Also on the agenda Tuesday May 27, "Clallam CO, the Jamestown Tribe and Washington Sea Grant are awarded funds to obtain Topobathymetric Lidar data of the coastline and near shore of the Strait of Juan de Fuca,, from the upper extent of tidal influence to mean low water and from Cape Flattery to Admiralty Inlet." "Such information is valuable for planning purposes."

I have a question, C.C. -- what if someone read each article aloud every day on the podcast? Is that something you would consume?

Sir, I raise my glass to you! You continue in the fine tradition of such Americans as Thomas Paine, H. L. Mencken, and P. J. O'Rourke who famously said, "Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys."

March on, sir!

Just listened to your podcast. What an excellent way to congeal your articles and bring some additional meaning and behind the scenes information to the citizens.

I see some of your newer readers struggle with the bigger picture which is only possible if you're someone who has been reading for a while, and I've wondered if it puts some people off. I see your podcast as a good mechanism to bring the newer readers up to speed.

I personally became aware of CCWD by happenstance as I scrolled through my Facebook feed. The title of the article is what stopped me initially but it was the mission statement that held my attention: Keeping County Leaders Accountable.

Anything that appears highlighted, or underlined in italics I should say, is a link to its corresponding article. Discovered that little gem of a feature almost immediately & from there I found myself going down rabbit hole after rabbit hole & months later here I am every morning at 5am tapping my toe &!waiting for Jeff’s next article to drop. If it concerns you & the very fabric of your livelihood, you’ll find your way here one way or another.

I believe the noose is tightening around the necks of a lot of the residents here in Clallam County, & when the pain becomes great enough they’ll be getting involved- whether they ever wanted to or not. Eventually, they won’t have a choice. I suspect it’s gonna be ‘get involved or get gone’ in the very imminent future

Hands off the PRIVATE PROPERTY owned by the folks everywhere, but especially in the 3 Crabs area~! The government always makes life difficult enough for folks here in our beautiful area, so we should completely protest & reject any more hardships or underhanded schemes that they try to pull off from now on~! Make Memorial Day a day of freedom from the local governments' usual hidden agendas, tyranny and bullying~!

Sincerely, Mike

My husband's family has a home on Lake Crescent. Been there 60+ years. We have always been worried, since it is a National park, they will lose their home. Started with jet skis, catch and release. Will they eventually take homes? There were rumors about this happening years ago.

Hello, Juanita Chamberlain,~! Yes, I have heard a lot about the constant efforts of the government to make life miserable for folks who have property on Lake Crescent over the years, and our hearts go out to everyone in that situation~! Unfortunately, the government here in Washington state is Hell bent on destroying the quality of life here and it is of course no mistake. It could not be a mistake or just happenstance, because it is natural for humans to want to be free and not subjected to endless rules and laws that choke off their lives. My wife and I have watched both of our respective home states go down the toilet over the decades and we have always done what we could to fight against it. The best way for us to fight against the corruption in the Washington state government is to end the mail in voting with no ID and proof of American citizenship, strictly monitor every election, and get together to remove anyone in government who fails to uphold The American Constitution~! We must do that now because we can't afford to have the government destroying our lives and dictating how we live~! The future generations deserve better and there is no more time left to delay demanding our freedoms and rights~! I really don't know if most people in Washington state have what it takes to demand their freedom & rights, but the good news is that it does not take everyone to achieve that necessary goal ;-) Have a great evening and keep the faith~! Sincerely, Mike

I believe that most humans prefer guaranteed safety over freedom. Once the governments expand and seize power the average citizen receives neither.

Expand full comment
Michael Heath's avatar

That is most excellent thinking Patriot Steve O~!

Hopefully, "most humans" are now learning the extremely painful and often unnecessarily deadly lessons that there are NO "guarantees in life~! None~! No government can EVER honestly guarantee safety, fairness, or "equality" because those are absolutely absurd & impossible things for anyone or any government to be able to actually provide under any circumstances~! Beware ANY government that makes such preposterous claims, because history has constantly proven that the very governments who make those fraudulent claims are the very ones that have long planned to murder humans, rob their wealth, and take advantage of them in every possible way. Life, by its very nature, is not "fair" and only fools trade obviously ridiculous fake & fraudulent "government promises" for their own freedoms and right to self-determination ;-) As much as I greatly appreciate the current President and his administrations work to enlighten Americans about the festering criminals within the US government and how corrupt our governmental system has been for over 100 years, we are STILL not hearing the truth about the JFK, RFK, and MLK murders, the Epstein and criminals of humanity's evil corruption of our American government & society, the COVID & deadly "vaccine" horrors of mass murder, and SO many other truths that the American general public desperately needs to understand before it is too late for America and humanity~! I completely understand that many Americans "can't handle the truth" because after over 50 years as an accomplished analyst I have learned a great many things that would send weak people over the edge. Unfortunately, a great many of the best Americans that ever lived are being destroyed while the criminal "social engineers" are playing games with millions and millions of American lives~! The criminals in the government itself are responsible for the intentional destruction of our educational system, which is clearly the reason that most Americans are not prepared to hear the truth because "we" have all been brainwashed into believing a tremendous number of lies and deceptions. So, Ironically, we as a country are trapped between many who have been intentionally dumbed down and those who have realized that there is something terribly wrong with our government, country, and civilization... I hope that ALL Americans can soon learn extremely important truths so they can quit being played for fools about destructive "politics" and those who seek to divide us against each other~! Have a great Memorial Day Holiday weekend and keep the faith~! Sincerely, Mike
