With everything going on around Tumwater Creek and nearby areas, what steps are you currently taking to make sure the Shore Aquatic Center remains a safe place for families and kids? Specifically, how are you accounting for the presence of transient individuals and, in some cases, people with criminal histories in the immediate vicinity?
I’m also curious how the board weighs programs like vouchers or expanded access against the need to maintain a safe environment for the community that uses and supports the facility.
Who knew that eating out instead of donating all of your hard earned funds to the food bank was such a polarized topic. The problem with those kinds of people is that it doesn't matter how much you give, if you provide yourself with any sort of minor luxury at all, you're part of the problem. Meanwhile their holier-than-thou perspective sets themselves above the rest simply by being the most presumptuous person in the room.
Someone should tell them that if they are looking to support the under-privileged while riding their high horse, Stymies offers a tax exempt Tomahawk steak for $130 at the golf course.
I'm comfortable in my life. I'd likely not eat at an expensive restaurant because I just don't like to spend my money that way, but I don't begrudge someone who chooses to do so, or has more means than I do. The problem with the anti-statement is that it's someone trying to limit the choices others make so that they can feel less bad about the emotional turmoil in their heads. That's a sickness they struggle with.
MK, we need business like this to support the community. I'd eat there, unless there are tents and human crap. Tourist like restaurants, I know I do when I go on vacation. At times it's fun to 'splurge'.

Only these elite wannabes, paid with grant money, should enjoy the fruits of others labor. They think they will be spared the loss of Life, Liberty, and Happiness after Marxist Socialism is achieved. It all goes under the "Affordable" mantra. Affordable housing, affordable healthcare, affordable transportation, affordable childcare, affordable DINING. "Affordable" is a slippery slope to "Equality" = government-provided = Free.

I see healthy debate, questioning and issue exposure that might otherwise go unnoticed in the CC Watchdog. The lack of success for Republican leaders is due to their constituents being independent thinkers. Independent thinkers do not Lemming up well. To me the choice is either blind obedience or honest scrutiny.

MH…..TWO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS sit on the Shore board. THEY HAVE KNOWN all along, approved to allow the showering of homeless & sex offenders for a place that entertains children!!!!!!!! Those commissioners should be fired for several reasons, the possible harm of a child & for opening up the doors to lawsuits…..sounds like the school districts (again children involvement, our most venerable in society). The board members should resign, the commissioners should resign as County Commissioners. Not acceptable, no excuses, no passes resign immediately for putting children & the public in harms way & be thankful we have been made aware of the unacceptable bathing voucher program at the Shore Aquatic Center.

Then there are the few who for whatever reason look for rational common-sense solutions to the most threatening problems first, while using all sorts of dark & light humor to fight back against the insanity every step of the way~! I believe that Jeff Tozzer, you, I, and many others here on "The Watch Dog" fall into that last small group. This is likely because our Individual paths through life have thus far resulted in us possessing equal parts empathy for humanity, our sense of being here on this spinning rock of water & lunatics to complete our given missions, and a very high degree of "give a damn" rebellious attitude out of "shear spite" that is more of a self-defense reaction to cope with all of the murderous "lower primates" who's first reaction to everything is the worst possible so-called "solution"~! Humonkey see, humonkey do, and then they wonder what went wrong~!!! HA~! I don't recognize Hollywood comedies these days, so if you told me that they don't even exist I would COMPLETELY believe you. However, I absolutely LOVE many of the older Hollywood comedy productions for one reason or another. Those of us of the older generations were blessed with many hours, nay YEARS, of comedic entertainment, depending upon the level of our own Individual "comedic inclinations" so we learned well the comedic connection to real life~! There was one specific movie that by any reasonable measure was the greatest and most fun comedic production of cinematic history. "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World" never really got the appreciation that it SO well deserved~! However, with the absolute garbage that Hollywood has produced for MANY decades now, with precious few exceptions, that is an absolutely timeless comedy that is still relevant today as a real-life commentary on the insanity of humans and just how quickly seemingly rational normal Individuals can "revert" to absolutely hysterical animalistic behavior when stimulated to do so~! Pavlov's dog is an EXTREMELY rabid beast~! HA~! There is one point in that "Mad World" movie that I often remember when I see people who have lost their minds and gone over the edge of the cliff of calm rational reasoning. Towards the end of that wonderful comedy numerous key members of the plot, as they are chasing a suitcase filled with cash, climb up a long fire engine ladder in their irrational hysteria of greed, and the fireman in charge, who has already lost control of his "hook & ladder" truck, shouts to the insane mob of people who have very clearly overloaded the extended ladder; "OK, you will see, you will see~!" after he tried again and again to warn them NOT to climb that ladder in numbers!!! HA! Well, being an old "G" rated comedy that was geared for the little kiddies of the early 1960's no one gets killed in that scene, however as predicted, those on the fully extended ladder ALL end up in the hospital together in one big common room with varying physical injuries... Well, my friend, for many decades I have worked VERY hard as I tried my best to learn as much as possible, just so I would become that "fireman" who was warning the hysterical mob to try to keep them safe~! The great news is that I actually did learn enough to be the real life equivalent of that fireman on the firetruck. Unfortunately, the bad news is that I have not had much better luck in actually saving anyone, than that fireman in that amazing movie~! Oh sure, I have had a few "successes" here and there that I knew about, which necessarily means that there were at least a few other successes that I never knew about, but for the most part the hysterical low information clown show is now in one BIG common "hospital room" all banged up with many on a dubious and shaky Spiritual life support system~! Many millions have in fact been killed by this "Evil empire", unlike the "soft comedy" of that old great movie... There are a LOT of reasons why I absolutely LOVE that old movie, the old locations & vehicles of a time LONG gone forever, the tremendous record number of physical stunts, the astounding "story line" that, much like the original "Wizard of Oz" movie, was a VERY important "warning message" to humanity that went nearly completely ignored... But the cast of that "Mad Movie" consisted of a one and ONLY group of nearly ALL of the best of the best actors and entertainers of that day~!!! Even many old-time actors who had their last role in their lives because time stands still for no one ;-) As a very young child I remember seeing that movie when it came out and it was a total blast. Later along my life's path I have seen it numerous times, and I STILL see new things that I had never appreciated before... The real history is absolutely amazing :-) No one will EVER be able to produce a movie anywhere even close to that one ever again, so it is a national treasure in MANY ways, but the message is STILL as timely as it always was... Enjoy this "Mad World" and make the most of it~!
Mike, I’m going on line and finding that movie. I saw it so long ago I barely remembered the name when you wrote it. I think most people have one or two best movies ever. My husband has one that he loves the deeper meaning of, which is lost on me. It’s pretty fabulous that we went from renting VCRs to having Starlink on our boat in the coves of British Columbia. Not really over kill if you’ve spent 3-4 days in pouring rain on a boat. I say the water makes them shrink! You are a great writer. I appreciate your humor subtle and outright. I appreciate movies that aren’t gun fire from the beginning to end. I liked special effects, but with AI it’s not as impressive. Does your family have a movie everyone knows all the lines to? We are guilty but can’t control ourselves. New people don’t enjoy our humor as much. Have a nice evening as Monday is another day for Clallam County citizens to be on the look out for political pukes that Jeff has informed , those of us that care. Oh yes! The "Mad Movie" is an astounding work and even better every time folks see it... Most people alive today won't even recognize many of the actors in that movie, because it beautifully showcased THE best and most well-known actors and entertainers of that day (and even before that day). Laurel & Hardy were supposed to be in it, but Hardy passed away and Laurel didn't appear in it out of respect for his partner... The Three Stooges are in it and MOST of the entertainment icons alive at that time... Even the younger generations of today who have no clue who these actors are, will enjoy the movie and if they look up the actors and the different locations, they will find a whole new level of appreciating history. The entire "message" of that movie script is without doubt relevant today and could have saved countless lives, had folks taken it seriously... I really hope that you enjoy watching that movie again my friend~! I would think it a perfect movie to watch on a mellow day when folks could enjoy it without the crazy distractions of the rat race ;-) Thank you for your wonderful compliments my friend~! Thanks, I kept reading those large numbers in disbelief. Because they were in fact as you say, a complete lie. The photos were so limited in the number of people in them, I kept shaking my head asking “what am l missing”? Glad to know it was a small turn out of , in my opinion, time wasting activity in the name of protesting. Don’t people need to tend the garden or watch old movies. I am amazed but not surprised. I, too, was kicked out of Indivisible Sequim when I first discovered it and thought it was just a local group. I questioned one of their positions and for that I was removed from the group. Similarly, I was on NextDoor.com, and posted a graph showing that climate change has been happening for 500 million years, long before humans existed. Since this opposed their views, I was suspended for a week. As soon as I regained access, I resigned.
We came to Sequim in 2013 and recall things to be fairly middle-of-the-road. I blinked, and things became extremely polarized. We are now in Idaho, where things are happy, peaceful, polite, and friendly. The division is where the liberals are in Boise. This tells me that it is liberals' intolerance of different viewpoints that is the source of division. It seems that extremists have infiltrated the Democrat party, and are running it, while normal liberals quietly shy away from the extremism. But, the difference here is that if property is destroyed or vandalized, it doesn't matter the political leaning of the perpetrators-- all get arrested. In WA, only the conservatives get arrested while the liberals get off with impunity. They may be arrested, but are out on the street again, without bail, over and over and over again. And, a recent article about it illustrates why-- Extremist liberals are often jobless and property-less, so they have nothing to lose. Conservatives are often property owners, job holders, and have much more to lose, so they behave more rationally. Until the law in Clallam County treats both sides equally, these problems will continue. Tim Wheeler and his entourage should have been arrested for vandalizing the forest markings. People littering syringes in creeks should be jailed, homeless or not. If they're unwelcome in Clallam County, they will travel to other counties and states that welcome them.
What goes on in Clallam County would not be tolerated in Canyon County, ID and likely not in Ada county, ID.

I'm comfortable in my life. I'd likely not eat at an expensive restaurant because I just don't like to spend my money that way, but I don't begrudge someone who chooses to do so, or has more means than I do. That's a sickness they struggle with.

The elite, or so they think, feel that anyone who has worked hard and succeeded in securing a comfortable life, maybe even afford a nice expensive steak at a privately owned restaurant, and are not sucking off the government teat, are not entitled to spend as they wish. Only these elite wannabes, paid with grant money, should enjoy the fruits of others labor. They think they will be spared the loss of Life, Liberty, and Happiness after Marxist Socialism is achieved. History paints a different picture.
It all goes under the "Affordable" mantra. Affordable housing, affordable healthcare, affordable transportation, affordable childcare, affordable DINING. "Affordable" is a slippery slope to "Equality" = government-provided = Free.

I see healthy debate, questioning and issue exposure that might otherwise go unnoticed in the CC Watchdog. Those opposed to the Watchdog who seem to be exclusively liberal leaning demonstrate vitriol, sanctioning and extreme polarization. Liberalism and the Democrat Party have dominated local and State politics during my entire senior life. I am suggesting, if any citizens are serious about never changing drug abuse, homelessness, crime, ever increasing taxation and balanced media reporting that they try a different path. I have tested both of the unfortunately only two choices that seem to be available in my senior life and my experience is that Democrat leaders will lead you over the cliff. The lack of success for Republican leaders is due to their constituents being independent thinkers. Independent thinkers do not Lemming up well. To me the choice is either blind obedience or honest scrutiny.
Absolutely astounding that you keep voting for people who swear they're all about transparency yet time and time and time again you find out about policies, procedures, vouchers and promises long after they've been provided to the most destructive members of society and the ones who ought to be accountable and not rewarded. Kudos to Stacey, Jake and Jeff for shining a bright light on the 'community leaders' who it's now been proven have all the usefulness of cockroaches - no progress, just pestilence. You don't actually see them in action until someone turns the lights on.

I wonder what grossly overpaid fool came up with the COMPLETELY insane idea of opening up The Shore Aquatic Center for anyone to just walk in off of the streets to take showers and use the bathrooms? I understand the good intentions on some level, but that stupid idea functionally changed the aquatic center into a public septic system with a free shower and restroom for God only knows who, doing God only knows what, instead of a safe place for folks to use the community pool~! I LOVE a "win/win" outcome ;-) I find it highly disturbing that the Port Angeles food bank would "coach" anyone on how to further erode our community and make it even more difficult and costly for landlords to operate their rentals~! Is THIS why we have food banks??? As more and more good folks close down and sell their rental properties to new owners for their private use, it is these kinds of A-Holes who weaponize the so-called "legal system" against entrepreneurs that create the very rental housing shortage that "we" are experiencing here in our community. Don't get me wrong, because there are some criminally abusive landlords as well, but in Washington State the real estate laws are DEFINITELY pro-tenant and anti-rental property Investor... MH…..TWO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS sit on the Shore board. THEY HAVE KNOWN all along, approved to allow the showering of homeless & sex offenders for a place that entertains children!!!!!!!! Those commissioners should be fired for several reasons, the possible harm of a child & for opening up the doors to lawsuits…..sounds like the school districts (again children involvement, our most venerable in society). The board members should resign, the commissioners should resign as County Commissioners. Not acceptable, no excuses, no passes resign immediately for putting children & the public in harms way & be thankful we have been made aware of the unacceptable bathing voucher program at the Shore Aquatic Center.
Don't forget Carr and Suggs on pool board. They see sexual predators and narcotics traffickers as "our most vulnerable" and consistently prioritize them over children.

Oh yes, "we" are enjoying ourselves as well we should be~! I have always admired those who responded to the madness of life by making the most of it. Some just run and hide from reality. Some acknowledge the madness and respond with this odd kind of "calm inner hysteria" like doomed trapped rats knowing that they are on a sinking ship. Then there are the few who for whatever reason look for rational common-sense solutions to the most threatening problems first, while using all sorts of dark & light humor to fight back against the insanity every step of the way~! I believe that Jeff Tozzer, you, I, and many others here on "The Watch Dog" fall into that last small group. This is likely because our Individual paths through life have thus far resulted in us possessing equal parts empathy for humanity, our sense of being here on this spinning rock of water & lunatics to complete our given missions, and a very high degree of "give a damn" rebellious attitude out of "shear spite" that is more of a self-defense reaction to cope with all of the murderous "lower primates" who's first reaction to everything is the worst possible so-called "solution"~! "We" live every day as Individuals as others do, yet "we" feel ourselves easily capable of detaching from this insane "mortal coil" to view this society from a 40,000-foot standpoint, where all of the insanity and games people play become crystal clear. We have a sense of history, where we can somehow envision what future generations will think of this current time in history and the "jokes" that abound today, that most are completely blinded to. We watch old Hollywood productions that depict some "Goober" looking down the barrel of a loaded weapon to see if it is loaded with HORROR, while the "Three Stooges" crowd laughs like COMPLETELY ignorant and incompetent fools who are oblivious to the fact that THEY themselves encourage such stupidity by their foolish reactions~! Humonkey see, humonkey do, and then they wonder what went wrong~!!! HA~! I don't recognize Hollywood comedies these days, so if you told me that they don't even exist I would COMPLETELY believe you. However, I absolutely LOVE many of the older Hollywood comedy productions for one reason or another. Those of us of the older generations were blessed with many hours, nay YEARS, of comedic entertainment, depending upon the level of our own Individual "comedic inclinations" so we learned well the comedic connection to real life~! There was one specific movie that by any reasonable measure was the greatest and most fun comedic production of cinematic history. "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World" never really got the appreciation that it SO well deserved~! However, with the absolute garbage that Hollywood has produced for MANY decades now, with precious few exceptions, that is an absolutely timeless comedy that is still relevant today as a real-life commentary on the insanity of humans and just how quickly seemingly rational normal Individuals can "revert" to absolutely hysterical animalistic behavior when stimulated to do so~! Pavlov's dog is an EXTREMELY rabid beast~! HA~! There is one point in that "Mad World" movie that I often remember when I see people who have lost their minds and gone over the edge of the cliff of calm rational reasoning. Towards the end of that wonderful comedy numerous key members of the plot, as they are chasing a suitcase filled with cash, climb up a long fire engine ladder in their irrational hysteria of greed, and the fireman in charge, who has already lost control of his "hook & ladder" truck, shouts to the insane mob of people who have very clearly overloaded the extended ladder; "OK, you will see, you will see~!" after he tried again and again to warn them NOT to climb that ladder in numbers!!! HA! Well, being an old "G" rated comedy that was geared for the little kiddies of the early 1960's no one gets killed in that scene, however as predicted, those on the fully extended ladder ALL end up in the hospital together in one big common room with varying physical injuries... Well, my friend, for many decades I have worked VERY hard as I tried my best to learn as much as possible, just so I would become that "fireman" who was warning the hysterical mob to try to keep them safe~! The great news is that I actually did learn enough to be the real life equivalent of that fireman on the firetruck. Unfortunately, the bad news is that I have not had much better luck in actually saving anyone, than that fireman in that amazing movie~! Oh sure, I have had a few "successes" here and there that I knew about, which necessarily means that there were at least a few other successes that I never knew about, but for the most part the hysterical low information clown show is now in one BIG common "hospital room" all banged up with many on a dubious and shaky Spiritual life support system~! Many millions have in fact been killed by this "Evil empire", unlike the "soft comedy" of that old great movie... There are a LOT of reasons why I absolutely LOVE that old movie, the old locations & vehicles of a time LONG gone forever, the tremendous record number of physical stunts, the astounding "story line" that, much like the original "Wizard of Oz" movie, was a VERY important "warning message" to humanity that went nearly completely ignored... But the cast of that "Mad Movie" consisted of a one and ONLY group of nearly ALL of the best of the best actors and entertainers of that day~!!! Even many old-time actors who had their last role in their lives because time stands still for no one ;-) As a very young child I remember seeing that movie when it came out and it was a total blast. Later along my life's path I have seen it numerous times, and I STILL see new things that I had never appreciated before... The real history is absolutely amazing :-) No one will EVER be able to produce a movie anywhere even close to that one ever again, so it is a national treasure in MANY ways, but the message is STILL as timely as it always was... Enjoy this "Mad World" and make the most of it~!

Mike, I’m going on line and finding that movie. I saw it so long ago I barely remembered the name when you wrote it. I think most people have one or two best movies ever. My husband has one that he loves the deeper meaning of, which is lost on me. It’s pretty fabulous that we went from renting VCRs to having Starlink on our boat in the coves of British Columbia. Not really over kill if you’ve spent 3-4 days in pouring rain on a boat. I say the water makes them shrink! You are a great writer. I appreciate your humor subtle and outright. I appreciate movies that aren’t gun fire from the beginning to end. I liked special effects, but with AI it’s not as impressive. Does your family have a movie everyone knows all the lines to? We are guilty but can’t control ourselves. New people don’t enjoy our humor as much. Have a nice evening as Monday is another day for Clallam County citizens to be on the look out for political pukes that Jeff has informed , those of us that care. Jeff has given me a sense of duty to write to those who are failing the population they should serve. What a rewarding bit of energy reading comments here and articles from Jeff and Jake. If one person can’t make a difference, at least they did something and kudos for that!

Oh yes! The "Mad Movie" is an astounding work and even better every time folks see it... Most people alive today won't even recognize many of the actors in that movie, because it beautifully showcased THE best and most well-known actors and entertainers of that day (and even before that day). Laurel & Hardy were supposed to be in it, but Hardy passed away and Laurel didn't appear in it out of respect for his partner... The Three Stooges are in it and MOST of the entertainment icons alive at that time... Even the younger generations of today who have no clue who these actors are, will enjoy the movie and if they look up the actors and the different locations, they will find a whole new level of appreciating history. The entire "message" of that movie script is without doubt relevant today and could have saved countless lives, had folks taken it seriously... I really hope that you enjoy watching that movie again my friend~! I would think it a perfect movie to watch on a mellow day when folks could enjoy it without the crazy distractions of the rat race ;-) Thank you for your wonderful compliments my friend~! Thanks, I kept reading those large numbers in disbelief. Because they were in fact as you say, a complete lie. The photos were so limited in the number of people in them, I kept shaking my head asking “what am l missing”? Glad to know it was a small turn out of , in my opinion, time wasting activity in the name of protesting. Don’t people need to tend the garden or watch old movies. I’m not sure what the positive reinforcement is that gets one to an unpopular protest. I quietly protest by not spending money in places where I feel abused as a tax payer.

That either meant that the chief of police in Sequim was criminally complicit in this evil criminal conspiracy to trick & deceive the good folks of Sequim and Clallam County, which he obviously revealed himself to be, OR he is SO completely incompetent, along with the entire Sequim police force that is SO utterly incompetent, that they can't even do basic math worth a damn~! I am amazed but not surprised. I, too, was kicked out of Indivisible Sequim when I first discovered it and thought it was just a local group. I questioned one of their positions and for that I was removed from the group. Similarly, I was on NextDoor.com, and posted a graph showing that climate change has been happening for 500 million years, long before humans existed. Since this opposed their views, I was suspended for a week. As soon as I regained access, I resigned.
We came to Sequim in 2013 and recall things to be fairly middle-of-the-road. I blinked, and things became extremely polarized. We are now in Idaho, where things are happy, peaceful, polite, and friendly. The division is where the liberals are in Boise. This tells me that it is liberals' intolerance of different viewpoints that is the source of division. It seems that extremists have infiltrated the Democrat party, and are running it, while normal liberals quietly shy away from the extremism. But, the difference here is that if property is destroyed or vandalized, it doesn't matter the political leaning of the perpetrators-- all get arrested. In WA, only the conservatives get arrested while the liberals get off with impunity. They may be arrested, but are out on the street again, without bail, over and over and over again. And, a recent article about it illustrates why-- Extremist liberals are often jobless and property-less, so they have nothing to lose. Conservatives are often property owners, job holders, and have much more to lose, so they behave more rationally. Until the law in Clallam County treats both sides equally, these problems will continue. Tim Wheeler and his entourage should have been arrested for vandalizing the forest markings. People littering syringes in creeks should be jailed, homeless or not. If they're unwelcome in Clallam County, they will travel to other counties and states that welcome them.
What goes on in Clallam County would not be tolerated in Canyon County, ID and likely not in Ada county, ID.
