With everything going on around Tumwater Creek and nearby areas, what steps are you currently taking to make sure the Shore Aquatic Center remains a safe place for families and kids? Specifically, how are you accounting for the presence of transient individuals and, in some cases, people with criminal histories in the immediate vicinity?
I’m also curious how the board weighs programs like vouchers or expanded access against the need to maintain a safe environment for the community that uses and supports the facility.
I see healthy debate, questioning and issue exposure that might otherwise go unnoticed in the CC Watchdog. Those opposed to the Watchdog who seem to be exclusively liberal leaning demonstrate vitriol, sanctioning and extreme polarization. Liberalism and the Democrat Party have dominated local and State politics during my entire senior life. I am suggesting, if any citizens are serious about never changing drug abuse, homelessness, crime, ever increasing taxation and balanced media reporting that they try a different path. I have tested both of the unfortunately only two choices that seem to be available in my senior life and my experience is that Democrat leaders will lead you over the cliff. The lack of success for Republican leaders is due to their constituents being independent thinkers. Independent thinkers do not Lemming up well. To me the choice is either blind obedience or honest scrutiny.
Who knew that eating out instead of donating all of your hard earned funds to the food bank was such a polarized topic. The problem with those kinds of people is that it doesn't matter how much you give, if you provide yourself with any sort of minor luxury at all, you're part of the problem. Meanwhile their holier-than-thou perspective sets themselves above the rest simply by being the most presumptuous person in the room.
Someone should tell them that if they are looking to support the under-privileged while riding their high horse, Stymies offers a tax exempt Tomahawk steak for $130 at the golf course.
So, a question ... when did a food bank start becoming a source for legal advice? Is that what donors are supporting, rather than helping hungry people get fed? Kind of like the library that wants more of your tax money as it morphs into another social services center.
Jeff, I hope you’ll post a pic of that line of lexus’ sometime. Identifiers blurred, of course. I hope if ppl see this, they’ll get it.
Interestingly, ‘fingers’ French may have been prophetic in his comment about property destruction. Apparently, spotlighting the destruction of Tumwater Creek is bringing attention to the addiction crisis in PA. Thanks Fingers!
Welcome to Clallam County. Remember, you came here to get away from the s*thole western Washington city you left behind. Show the proper respect to your new home...or you'll get none in return. That was the motto of the old milk cow county we were. The Clallam County Pioneer family way of life. And everyone (including the tribe that wasn't) worked, farmed, and lived together here in harmony long before Dickie Birds Tavern was replaced by the 7 cedars.
Jeff…you work so hard to keep us informed with such good information…Thank You
Thanks Lynae, I appreciate that. But I'm only doing this until my hair modeling career takes off. Then it's "hasta luego!" :)

The League of Women Voters did not answer yesterday's questions about whether the organization safeguards against its activist members having inappropriate relationships with children. Here is today's email to the board of the Shore Aquatic Center, sent to Mike.French@ClallamCountyWA.gov, Randy.Johnson@ClallamCountyWA.gov, ncarr@cityofpa.us, losuggs@cityofpa.us, gshield6@icloud.com:

I’d appreciate any insight you can share.
