The first French-Seegers debate is tonight, but a comment from the official Clallam County Democrats Facebook page is raising questions about civility in local politics
When the opposition starts this type of behavior and ad hominem attacks you must be over the target.
If you are not effective they wouldn’t be so aggressive and angry.
I have read dozens of “Watchdog” articles and they are well written and have quotes, documents and links to audio though out.
In my personal experience any conversation with a “left leaning” individual usually disintegrates into personal attacks within a few minutes because they don’t have anything else substantial to say.

It's almost touching how the official Clallam County Democrats Facebook page—*the very group hosting tonight's debate*—decided to kick things off by branding challenger Jake Seegers as "Fake Jake, the fake independent." Nothing says "civil, inclusive discourse" like a pre-debate nickname straight out of the elementary school playground. But hey, at least they're consistent.
The real question the article dances around is: Why are the Dems so incandescently upset that Jeff Tozzer keeps doing actual journalism?
Jeff doesn't invent conspiracies or dox grandmas. He reads public records, files public records requests, screens meeting videos, and yes—gasp—quotes their own social media posts back at them. That's not "hate." That's called due diligence. In a sane world, this is what we used to call "being a reporter." But in modern Clallam County progressive land, asking "Hey, where exactly did that $5 parcel fee go?" or "Can we see the receipts on these homelessness programs?" is apparently the moral equivalent of book-burning.
So when the truth starts stinging—when the spreadsheets don't add up, when the NGOs keep getting taxpayer cash with minimal results, when the same people preaching "inclusion" start treating anyone right-of-center like a biohazard—their go-to playbook fires up immediately:
1. Slap a cute nickname on your opponent ("Fake Jake"—chef's kiss).
2. Accuse the messenger of hating tribes, trans people, immigrants, libraries, firefighters, puppies, and apple pie.
3. Declare them a Nazi/fascist/bigot/threat to democracy (bonus points if you can work in "threat to our democracy" three times in one post).
4. Refuse to engage with any specific evidence, because engaging might require, you know, facts.
It's the same tired script we've seen for years. Question government spending? Hate. Want transparency on Conservation District meetings? Hate. Point out that "harm reduction" sometimes looks more like enabling? Definitely hate. Meanwhile, the party that claims to be the big tent of empathy can't even resist playground taunts days before sharing a stage with the guy.
The irony is delicious. They host the debate, invite the audience to ask tough questions, then freak out when someone (Jeff) has been asking tough questions for years in public. Suddenly scrutiny is "personal." Suddenly accountability journalism is "promoting hatred."
Perhaps the real "Fake" part isn't Jake—it's the whole performative outrage machine that collapses the moment someone holds up a mirror made of public records.
Keep digging, Jeff. The more they call you names, the more we know you're over the target. And to the Democrats: maybe try debating ideas instead of nicknames? Just a thought from us "haters" in flyover Port Angeles.

The entire cabal that runs Clallam County largely out of D1 disproportionately affecting the West End is understandably upset for two reasons.
The first, and any new reader who doesn't understand the genesis of the Watchdog should know, is that you have engaged civicly after this cabal was upset over you daring to ask questions about the Towne Road fiasco. Not only that but this same cabal attempted to have you arrested for absolutely false claims and failed. The controllers were pissed off and the hits against you kept coming right into the Charter Review Commission. You did what few there out of 15 people there did, you heard what people wanted that equally benefitted the citizens of Clallam County and did your best to represent them, but WE were shut down because of how that same cabal controlled the meetings.
The second reason is that Jake is an absolute threat to the D1 and the somewhat D2 control of our county due to how Commissioners are elected. These controlling types have nothing to directly attack about the substance of Jake's positions, but he's not one of them so they're left with the national political aspersions to attack him.
And so here we are. Does Clallam County want more national and big city politics, or do we want to retain the way of life that is uniquely Clallam County?
Jake is the Wedge to bring us back to the center and that doesn't bode well for the radicals who refuse to represent the everyday people of Clallam County.
We'll be there in full support for Jake Seegers. I wish we could ask multiple questions. Hmmm like, This question is for Mike, I had a conversation with an ex-employee of yours who referred to you as "creepy and disgusting" to the point she had to quit her job. What exactly did you do to to get that strong of a reaction from your someone under your employ?
