The commissioners did not respond to an email asking why they haven't followed up with the Jamestown Corporation about paying their fair share of property and lodging taxes. Here is today's email sent to the League of Women Voters at info@lwvcla.org:

Dear League of Women Voters of Clallam County,

The purpose of this email is simple: to give you an opportunity to respond directly to several questions raised in the article and to provide any clarification, context, or corrections you feel are appropriate.

As an organization that plays an active role in civic engagement and public discourse, your perspective is important. I want to ensure that readers have access to your explanations in your own words.

To that end, I will publish your response in full and unedited so that the public can review it directly, without interpretation or filtering.

If you’re willing to participate, I would appreciate your responses.

Thank you for your time and for your continued involvement in our local community.

Sorry Jeff. Pre-Coffee I am animal. I edited out the worst of it. My cussing and hatred for the Governors office pales anything you can imagine.

Joel, we all feel the anger simmering, waiting for that one more thing that makes us explode. Jeff has built a well cultured forum in his substack thru his lived experiences with the County and its leadership. He is able to write, speak, and act in a way that includes everyone. My suggestion is after reading CCWD articles, walk away and come back after a while and then respond. It's tough to do, but it will bring clarity to your comments. Thanks!

Joel's avatar

Hi Denise, whether an up or down scroll….I got this and please see my reply to DK here. Thanks. Maybe I should ACTUALLY knit. And good on Jeff by the way. My responses are crystal clear but way too harsh for many and I realize this.

Jennifer's avatar

Joel, Denise has sound advice, but there are days I want to get up from the computer and kick a sleeping puppy.

PS, knitting needles? Welllll... maybe baking and kneading dough ; )

Joel's avatar

Some good former therapy was a few years ago when I was making cookies. I never used a recipe but if someone went crazy about them I’d go and write that one down. Otherwise the batches were never exactly the same. But… how any cookies can I eat or should I eat.

So two years ago I started making herbal healing balms and one especially is damn near miraculous. And it won’t make me fat. Creation lives in another place than where my facts and figures and rules live. So this recent writing has been the best treatment for what ailed me the most. I am going now out to see that blue sky.

Have a wonderful day Jennifer.

Joel's avatar

I do need to temper myself. Or watch my temper. For many years I could work in extremely stressful situations full of adrenaline and do just fine. I could switch off my emotions at will. But I have been out of that mindset or need for it for the past five years.

Today we have a blue sky and I have a lot of farm-ish things to do today which is the best treatment I can think of. Have a wonderful day and thanks for this reply. Definitely on the same page.

But, and I never thought I would be one of THOSE, and I did fight it originally, we have five little dogs. Two are shown on my bio or whatever it’s called. But they sleep with us and I have grown to not only accept it (I whined at first) but I would miss anyone of them if they were elsewhere.

Maybe this makes me an official old fart. I did give a little boot to a big alpha rooster just a half hour ago when he was attacking my little beta scrawny rooster this morning. Not hard, just a nudge but I couldn’t stop the attack any other way.

Repressed anger is very dangerous.

Joel I tied knitting and lol I don't understand the female brain.

Joel's avatar

Me neither. My head would absolutely explode.

Steve O.'s avatar

Denise Lapio I confess in my darker moments I enjoy unabated anger and it's expression but only in only socially acceptable means.

It is heartfelt Joel.

Hi Teresa - Hell, had a couple paragraphs here and it poofed into limbo. Thanks, after re-noticing the former military on your bio and thanks for your reply now.

I have pondered for years the thought of starting something like "the Forks Knitting Club" but it could be "CC Knitting Club".

Well, I don't really knit and my guns really didn't go down in that tragic boating accident either. I discovered a few years ago and can't easily re-find this right now but I at least believe this to be true. I think it was WA state law and not Federal.

Making a group of, I believe, two or more people practicing tactics, shooting anything resembling an actual MILITIA to be illegal. Perhaps this was just like with the masks and lockdowns and such, simply a decree by King Insley. But this is way overdue.

The 2nd Ammendment RIGHT would not be as powerful of a deterrent to TYRANNY with a bunch of lone wolves trying to save the day. I think perhaps I will now ponder the thought of a "CC Knitting Club" from this day forward. I read "Every Knee Shall Bow" the true story of Ruby Ridge.

I studied what I could about WACO. I am going to go verify this now....and those ol' dudes in Wyoming, one of whom was murdered by a fed more recently than the first two examples. My gut is telling me that these incidents were under a Democrat President but I could be wrong and there are a LOT of Republican creatures as well in the SWAMP which still has not been drained.

Teresa's avatar

Lots to unpack here Joel.

Thanks for your perspective.

I will agree that change is needed.

Slow & comfortable is not the way.

I stay in “action” mode.

That is how I deal.

Constantly moving & learning. Uggg.

Opening up the links we share in here.

Incredible information.

The CCWD crew, they are action doers.

I welcome the walk with the talk.

We have to speak the truth.

We cannot roll over and let them scratch our bellies.

Slow & comfortable will not do!

Hope to see you at a Commissioners meeting.

Write a letter to them.

Who knows, maybe your letter will be the one letter that makes the difference.

HooRah!!💥🇺🇸

Actually, I am just pulling my head out of the sand for anything local. I've studied big picture stuff for a good fifteen years and am not counting pre-alt-sources when I abandoned Fox news around 2010. So much of the msm is bullshit. So I need to better study the local happenings. The march left and PC has been pretty concerning. I absolutely hate Communism and anything that leans that way either intentionally or via ignorance as with the Useful Idiots. I think being in the bowels of the bad with DOC and all the negativity surrounding that for just a couple months shy of twenty years, cut short by the DeathVaxx, I just remained a happy hermit though, like I said, I watched geo-politcs and mainly the economy the whole while. Trips to PA is a major pain in the butt due to some issues I'm having and I think the S is getting ready to HTF. 5G here in Forks was just agreed on by the city attorney and mayor recently without a peep to the public. This is worth some meetings in the future but they likely frown on the tar and feathers.

Teresa's avatar

Joel,

Get involved locally for sure.👍🏼

Forks is having a Town Hall meeting April 6th.

Port Angeles & Sequim are also having Town Halls.

*All meetings begin at 5:pm

Forks - April 6th

Sequim - April 14th

Port Angeles - April 21st

Perhaps a Zoom option will be available.

Joel's avatar

I will try to go to the Forks one. Back when Pterodactyls flew and the Forks City Council voted on whether we got paid for the overtime we ALREADY WORKED, we were given negative annual reviews if we didn’t do voluntary time. Like…as in, work for free. I was too dumb and naive back then but that was federally illegal per Fair Labor Standard Act. I’d sue the piss out of them if this wasn’t in the dark ages. For some reason it was always entirely made up of business owners who used to dance the Police Chief around like a marionette. 19-OTT-83 & 84.

This incident is now fuzzy in my head right now, maybe someone can shed more light on this. There was an incident involving federal "Iminent Domain", the excuse they used anyway, whereby some ranchers, possibly in Wyoming, were attempted to be run off their land. In the long run, there was a son of a senator or president, some scumbag, who was the go-between with the CCP backed windfarm company who wanted this land. And a good ol Patriot was murdered by a Fed COP. Anyone remember more details on this? No....they sure don't want militias and the fucking FBI will pretend to be Tom the redneck to join the knitting club I am sure. I can sniff them out in short time however and people can be vetted. As this is now being read at the Utah Data Center. And it is.

Denise Lapio's avatar

Jeff, a top notch article with more local relevance. In yesterday's comments Shennaigens stated she started SGGL as a non-partisan forum. It became partisan. LWV is supposed to be non-partisan. It became partisan. The Charter Review Commission was supposed to be for all citizens. It became partisan. Same people involved in all of those groups. And as you always note, Jeff, there's a pattern. They always point their accusing fingers to distract while they are doing the dirty deeds.

MK's avatar

The pattern is real and part of a larger pattern as you well know. Clallam County is being tailwhipped by national politics.

Vote for JAKE!

Timothy Weller's avatar

Those who are calling for "NO KINGS" are those acting the part, demanding that everyone comply with their ideology, sitting on the throne, stirring up their minions to "Resist." Resisting what, remains to be clarified, but I suspect the subject is our Republic. Another "Summer of Love 2020"; BLM wearing a new suit is waiting in the wings for those who will respond. Fundamental transformation, as was espoused by a prior Administration is the agenda, slowly coming to a boil. Frog legs, anyone?

Do I understand the frustration people feel wrt to this silly behavior? Yes

Do I think that any action taken directly opposing them moves the needle? No.

If I'm going to oppose this "group" of people it has to be done in a way that I'm 1) not baited by their actions causing me to fall into their trap, and 2) results in a substantive difference.

They want the confrontation. I'm not giving it to them. Nothing I can do directly at their protest will change a single mind. They already know that people oppose them, so if I'm going to use my precious time I'll spend it educating just one neighbor in an informative grassroots way about how the LWVs is a trojan horse.

Eric Fehrmann's avatar

Yes, the more we avoid the area tomorrow the less impact the march will have. The more business is interrupted in the area, the more negativity shines on Indivisible Sequim.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

What is their actual motive and return on invested time plus business disruption? It’s like costume day in junior high school, fun to participate, but really just a distraction planned to get nothing done.

LWV that’s how you roll. You know youve made a mockery out of democracy . What is it you stand for? I thought it was getting all eligible to vote and showing no bias to either party. Well your public days of women’s suffrage have come and gone. Why not disband and form book clubs, or sponsor animal care in shelters or just about anything besides your road rally king protest. You aren’t being good role models. Grow up! You are a county embarrassment. Don’t pull a muscle patting yourselves on the back. You deserve no gratitude. Wow-Adults?

Steve O.'s avatar

Susan wonderful vitriol and I agree with the sentiment, but my junior high school never featured a "costume day". That sounds like fun at any age.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

I consider my use of language related to LWV….snarky.

Vitriolic would be vile name calling, racial slurs, and the most heinous words directed at a group. Pointing out that woman’s suffrage was a worthy cause 100 years ago, but not needed now, is more sarcasm and including hypocrisy. So that’s where I stand. Say it forget it, write it regret it. I’m 50-50 on that rule. Thanks Joel.

Vote Jake Seegers, change could save this county!

Jennifer's avatar

MK, I absolutely agree..."They want the confrontation. I'm not giving it to them." I feel they would use it as an attack on CCWD and part of their fake news against CCWD campaign efforts. Thanks for reminding us keep our wits in check.

Yep. Frankly anyone opposed to the oppressive progressive ways of the League et al aren't organized. It's the Achilles heel for reasonable change.

The opposition here is the LWVs, not the goofy No Kings crowd. No Kings is a national issue. CC doesn't need that crap.

Opposition to the League is not effective at the rallye.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

Where would it be effective? They are holding on to a premise of need in the county. The county is full of needs for volunteers, but this feels like an old cult rising up from the south. Is Susan F the leader? No one got to vote I guess. So many mindless followers. You people would suck at survival skills.

A wasted brain is filled with other people’s agendas.

MK's avatar

Join them and speak up attend any of their events and educate others. Write the auditors office with evidence that the League is not what it is and ask them to be removed from the county website. Request all documents the school district has from the League, email discussions. Attend school board meetings and demand they remove their material if your review shows that they're biased...

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

Doing almost anything else would be more rewarding than watching middle aged women playing dress-up as if they have a purpose. Great embarrass the entire county and cause business disruptions.

Hope you wear your straw hats with fuzzy grey hair sticking out.

Glad I found out this was happening, I was going to Costco and Home Depot but I’ll change my plans

This disrupts all the businesses in the area, I don’t shop Sequim because of this, I get tired of seeing all this CRAP on the streets which keeps me from Sequim, only places I shop are Costco and sometimes Home Depot.

I’ll be calling the managers of these stores to complain. Home Depot owns their parking lot, it’s not public property. Complaint the store.

sue coffman's avatar

Thank you for the heads-up on the "parade" route, Jeff! I can avoid that whole area tomorrow, when I have tickets to go see Cinderella at the high school. I'll come via the Old Route, so glad there are other ways to get to Sequim besides Washington!

RIOT, INC: ANTIFA, “NO KINGS AND THEIR MEGA-BILLIONAIRE DONORS

Today’s “social justice warriors” don’t need to advertise. Their billionaire donors shower them with hundreds of millions of dollars to ensure that these professional agitators & their Useful Idiots sidekicks keep their protests and riots in perpetual motion

We traced $294,487,641 to the official “No Kings” 2.0 partners & organizers...all funneled through the same “Riot Inc.” dark-money networks:

Arabella network $79.7M+

Soros network $72.1M+

Ford network $51.7M+

Tides (Soros) $45.5M+

Rockefeller $28.6M+

Buffett $16.6M+

According to influencewatch.org, the LVW maintains two legal entities to carry out its missions, the League of Women Voters of the United States and the League of Women Voters Education Fund. These two entities receive significant funding from progressive mega-donors

.

A few of the progressive mega-donors include:

• The Ford Foundation

• George Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society

• The New York State United Teachers government worker labor union

• The Tides Foundation

Do Democrats ever tell the truth? This “movement” did not begin in 2025 and it is not grassroot. It began in 2016 and was well-funded & professionally organized. They are complaining about “costs.” Where were they when Biden increased inflation to 22% forcing families to eat out of food banks?

Denise Lapio's avatar

In 2016 the Democrat Party declared a civil war in the USA after the election of Donald Trump. We've been at war for 10 years all funded by the above mentioned groups along with the NWO emperors. Our forefathers did it once before 250 years ago, and we'll do it again 250 years later: Fight for Freedom.

About 3 weeks ago the SCC met at 5 PM (thus no one else allowed in) behind closed doors to discuss "litigation". Anybody know what that is about? It would be nice to know if are wallets are once more exposed!! Just another example of non-transparency.

Geoff Fox's avatar

I might venture the opinion that the people "standing on the corner" with protest signs are recent immigrants to the county. They no zip about the history of America or of Clallam County, and are easily duped. And Jeff, as a 6th generation legacy in this county you point out, oh so well, that these protesters want to divert attention away from corruption in Clallam County. Probably why the County and Sequim are pushing growth - in due time they will outnumber and outvote the likes of usns. Maybe change the name Clallam County to Rug County and continue to "sweep everything under the rug".

MK's avatar

I don't think you'd find one among the protestors actually. They're not stupid. Why lift a finger when the barking moonbats will do it for you?

It would seem the best political path I could blaze is to simply be counter to anything the LWV promotes. Hypocrisy is the stock and trade of the LWV. As example the sign about America being less of so many things. First; America stretches from the North pole to Cape Horn. The USA is more respected, safe, compassionate and Democratic with our current administration. Accountability for the sins of the last administration is happening, even with rogue liberal Judges impeding it. I see our country recently spared from it's fall from grace and once again leading the planet. ICE agents do not go to work each day in the hope of shooting someone; quite the opposite. Suicide by law enforcement cannot be blamed on the enforcement officers. Millions of peaceful demonstrators across the USA have, are and will be safe. I suggest the No Kings demonstrators take their demonstration to Iran to avoid the inevitable harm in the USA spewed and fomented by their Democrat representatives.
