Off topic today but need to say! Jeff you are a rock star in Jake’s campaign and deserve a well done high-five from ALL your readers on CCWD. I have seen the countless hours u have spent and the abuse u have absorbed. I hope I speak for all and THANK U for the endeavor u have succeeded in getting JAKE to the finish line. Hopefully we have changed the direction of CCs future.
It is called land transfer but in plain English it is larceny. This has gotten out of control. When is it enough? Stop this thievery and let the CC residents who pay taxes enjoy OUR land.
We need to stop the transfer. The tribe will turn it into an aquaculture site including fish pens that they were denied in Port Angeles Harbor.
If I was to bet, im almost certain at some point The Elwha will see logging by the tribe. Its a revenue source for them and is a too valuable resource to be ignored.
De facto, seems like the transfer has already happened. People who volunteer in the area have already apparently accepted the fact the Tribe controls and maybe even handles the bills? If you visit the Clallam County park adjacent to the spit it appears that the County has ceded the land to the tribe. Visit the "new" displays, and maybe soon on its way a tree was switched out to make room for a totem pole, If you visit the property your eyes will report to your brain. Well "DUH" says Homer Simpson.
