WestENDER’s or anyone west of Snider Road please send an email by 3pm today to board@forkshospital.org and encourage anyone else to do the same supporting the agenda item for Forks community hospital board meeting: “recording of Board Meetings and Public Access to Board Packets from Commissioner Huling”

I don't live out there but it's nice to know someone is involved in your region.

Bill's avatar

Thanks for the article Jeff. I didn't know that I was being endorsed or opposed by any groups. To be clear, the Republican party never contacted me, the Democratic party never contacted me, Indivisible Sequim never contacted me, the Fire Commissioner position is non-partisan, and I don't belong to any party.

I appreciate you speaking up on this matter. Your interview with Jeff was as even keeled as I could imagine. No hint of partisanship. Simply matter of fact information that was valuable for every citizen to consider. For me, a breath of fresh air in this caustic partisanship environment national politics has us whipped into.

It sadly leaves me with the perception that Sequim Indivisible's litmus test is contempt based. Sequim Indivisible's tantrums make it appear to be a corrosive based entity who can't discern the difference between national and local matters. As such they are not a healthy and supportive entity for the citizens of Clallam County.

I'm sad for this fine county and the people who live here being controlled by national narratives. We need more people like you who are here to serve the people, not a cause.

You have my unequivocal vote not because of anything more than my impression is that you are doing a fine job for the position you are running for. What more can we ask for?

This same thing goes on at Sequim High School. Most if not all of the teachers provide a list of “non partisan” media resources that their students can use for researching papers. Except that it looks exactly like the League of Women Voters idea of “non partisan”. Only one side represented.

Zero critical thinking taught or allowed.

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

LWV members Patrice Johnston and Susan Fisch are leading the mock trial team at SHS. I have serious doubts that any critical thinking is being taught there.

Brainwashing is occuring. People don’t realize they are until they happen to question their thoughts. Even then it may be hard to break free from the brainwashing cycle. Young people are beginning to see the lies & deception, Charlie Kirk helped them out of their fog chambers.

TJ's avatar

The approved media resources is straight of Orwell's 1984. Happening right in plain sight at public high schools throughout this state and probably many others. Spurred on by infiltrators like the LVW into the schools under the guise of debate training.

Eric Fehrmann's avatar

The Clallam County Commissioners meeting room should be Room 101, from 1984.

Robert James's avatar

The monster in the closet always signals its intentions...for those with eyes to see and ears to hear and brains to think.

It is strange how life mimics fiction...many a truth is said in jest! 😎

Eric Fehrmann's avatar

After watching Susan Fisch attempt to run Charter Review meetings, I have concluded she has been able to separate CRITICAL from THINKING.

TJ's avatar

I actually think the LWV hand a direct hand in helping the teachers develop the list of media resources allowed for use in research papers at SHS. My daughter was admonished several times for daring to use sources outside the approved list.

MK's avatar

And there it is.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

Sad, what a missed opportunity for those students. Also, who may we thank for approving the League of Women Voters access to students? I can see it now, LWV all decked out in gardening gloves, hands around the necks of HS students(figuratively)as they explain the virtues of the two party system in a frank and unbiased representation. Snakes, the hiss, the pit and all!

MK's avatar

Another entity using words (non-partisan) to stop the critical thinking.

4 reasonable development's avatar

More brainwashing just like what the fake media has been doing….5 minutes & brainwashing occurs.

TJ at that level of human age the critical thought process is dominated mostly by lust. Mine was.

I would readily admit DJT is a bit of a blunt instrument and not lacking in ego. That said, I have never witnessed in my entire senior life span such an amazing and hard working git-r-done President. The guy puts the Eveready bunny to shame. It's easy to dislike his personality, but his accomplishments are undeniably unprecedented. So this Trump Derangement Syndrome exists, but with no acknowledgement for his undeniable competency. Where our country might be today with Biden or Harris at the helm is a nightmare I'm ecstatic to not have. If the same shit different hats Lemmings would just put their face diapers back on and line up for mandatory injections our country would be much better off. I recall fruitlessly searching for the CCW booth at the County fair and seeing a Democrat Party booth manned by a fool with a hat saying Trump is a pedophile. The derangement part of TDS is sadly very real. Non-partisan ?

Thank you Jeff for sharing this information. I is amazing watching how the communist's/Socialists take over everything. I am always amazed at the stupidity of the GROUP THINK that occurs. It's like a bunch of Junior High School kids trying to be in with the "POPULAR KIDS". Just amazing that supposedly grown adults act that way.

I am glad you shared the endorsement lists, I know who I am not voting for. They made that a whole lot easier. Just the FACTS, not the LIES!

Thank you CCWD

Of our 3,452 subscribers, 512,000 website visits every 90 days, and 905,000 podcast downloads since May, I wouldn’t call any consumer a “devotee.” These are critical thinkers — Democrats, Republicans, Independents — who care about facts, not faction. ---- Woot Woot --- HUGE THANK YOU JEFF for giving us free thinkers a voice.

Kirstin, Thank you for that quote. Jeff has done and does sacrifice much, without complaint, as compared to any other news or our so called paid leaders do. Paid leaders instead play on our time and money. Jeff does not ask for either. Says a lot.

JEFF TOZZER “But what emerged looks more like a loyalty checklist than an informed civic guide — where candidates are categorized by party allegiance, ideological purity, and whether they pass the organization’s “approved” worldview test. This is most obvious in their language. Nearly every entry emphasizes who is a Democrat, who’s endorsed by Democrats, or who is aligned with “progressive” causes.”

So, according to their own Value Statement and applied to this article, does it pass the “sniff” test?

VALUE STATEMENT

Nonpartisanship

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization. We encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League acts in support of, or in opposition to, selected governmental issues which its members have studied. IT DOES NOT SUPPORT OR OPPOSE CANDIDATES, FACTIONS OR POLITICAL PARTIES. AS INDIVIDUALS, MAY SUPPORT CANDIDATES OF THE POLITICAL PARTY OF THEIR CHOICE. In order to protect the League's NONPARTISANSHIP policy, guidelines regarding the political activities of the Board of Directors are reviewed frequently.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

DISCRIMINATION OR HARASSMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHIN THE LEAGUE, including but not limited to race, socio-economic status, age, ability status, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, gender identity, or marital status. The League is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging for all people. The League is an organization that respects and values the richness of our community and our members. Coalition Partners

The LWVWA participates in coalitions with other groups that share common causes and interests. This allows for increased coordination and effectiveness in dealing with legislators. In general, we share information that our coalition partners provide directly or through social media SO LONG AS NEITHER OUR NONPARTISAN POLICY NOR OUR POSITIONS ARE COMPROMISED.

Columbia River Treaty NGO Caucus 

The caucus is part of the SAVE OUR WILD SALMON COALITION, which co-leads the US NGO Treaty Caucus that works with Native American tribes and allies in British Columbia. The caucus aims to sustain and restore the health of this international river system, SUPPORT TRIBAL AND NONTRIBAL COMMUNITIES, AND RECOVER ITS WILD SALMON AND OTHER FISH AND WILDLIFE RESOURCES.

Puget Sound Environmental Caucus

The caucus is part of the Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) and is a coalition of environmental groups that review and follow the PSP, its action agenda, and other activities and issues related to Puget Sound.

Save the salmon but do not take the gillnets away, take out all the hydro dams will this work or outlaw gillnetting that is the number one problem.States do not want salmon abundance because of the mass millions of $$$ that fed govt gives under the endangered species act.States are supposed to protect resources not allow the decimation of them for greed $$$.Whenever there is a write up about fish stocks especially salmon restoration good luck trying to find a negative regarding gillnetting .The blame is usually the loggers, the farmers, climate change, low water, ect ect ect but never gillnets.Take the nets away and the rivers are packed full in less than 10 years.

Oxymoron

Figure of speech

An oxymoron is a figure of speech that juxtaposes concepts with opposite meanings within a word or in a phrase that is a self-contradiction. As a rhetorical device, an oxymoron illustrates a point to communicate and reveal a paradox

Compare the LWV’S DEI Policy to the Land Acknowledgement. Placed together, it doesn’t make sense. How do you support one race and not discriminate against others?

DEI POLICY:

“DISCRIMINATION OR HARASSMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHIN THE LEAGUE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO RACE…”

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

“...TO AMPLIFY THE VOICES OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE, TO PARTNER WITH THE TRIBES AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ON POLICY AND OTHER ISSUES...”

LWVWA DEI Policy

DISCRIMINATION or harassment of any kind will not be accepted within the League, including but not limited to RACE, socio-economic status, age, ability status, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, gender identity, or marital status. The League is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging for all people. The League is an organization that respects and values the richness of our community and our members. The collective sum of our individual differences and life experiences represents not only our culture, but our reputation and the organization's mission and achievements as well.

Land Acknowledgement

The LWVWA acknowledges that the land known as the State of Washington is on the HOMELANDS OF NATIVE PEOPLE WHO HAVE LIVED HERE FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL and who have long resiliently resisted the ONGOING HARM OF COLONIALISM. The LWVWA expresses its deepest respect for and gratitude towards these original and CURRENT CARETAKERS OF THE REGION. While we honor the past, we will diligently work to listen to and amplify the voices of Indigenous people, to PARTNER WITH TRIBES AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ON POLICY AND OTHER ISSUES important to their welfare, to educate the public about tribal/treaty government and welfare issues and to respect the sovereignty of tribes and their rights to self-determination.

Denise Lapio's avatar

The same contradiction of promoting one race only to discriminate against others is in the BLM mission statement.

Jennifer's avatar

Denise, do you mean BLM Black Lives Matter or Bureau of Land Management?

Minority status along with discrimination can never not exist. We show discrimination most every day in our partners, friends and associations. Both native and indigenous are nebulous terms. Were the First Nations first ? Does it matter ? How many generations are necessary before a plant or a human is "native" ? Wikipedia says there is no legally accepted definition of indigenous. In the 300,000 years of human existence on earth where are the genealogical and chronological markers that separate a native or indigenous from all others ?

Non-Partisan?

League of Women Voters

Non-profit, non-partisan advocacy group

lwv.org

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan American nonprofit political organization. Founded in 1920, its ongoing major activities include registering voters, providing voter information, boosting voter turnout and advocating for voting rights. In addition, the LWV works with partners for specific campaigns including support for campaign finance reform, women's rights, health care reform and gun control. The League was founded as the successor to the National American Woman Suffrage Association, which had led the nationwide fight for women's suffrage. Wikipedia

I think not.

And the last time I checked...

Indivisible Sequim does the opposite.

people try and twist history...its the same ol'salute as Germany.

The Bellamy Salute was an American gesture to pledge allegiance to the flag -- a super conservative 1892 movement, pushed by a magazine publisher (Daniel Sharp Ford) to put American flags in every schoolroom, and create a patriotic oath (written by Francis Bellamy) to bind immigrant children with a daily ritual, involving a right arm extension with the palm down. It was replaced by the hand-over-heart gesture in 1942 due to its resemblance the popular honor salute of the 20th century Italian Fascist movement, adopted by the National Socialist Germany Workers' Party in Germany. OOPS.

Both were based on a ROMAN salute depicted in a painting by Jacques-Louis David (1784?) called the Oath of the Horatii. (Based on a popular delusion that gladiators used it. Which really seems to be a myth.)

Congress tried to fix the Bellamy salute, by making it palm up, but that didn't work.

So, quick... change to a hand-over-heart. It was an embarrassing switch.

By the way, It is completely voluntary to pledge a flag. It was more than 80 years ago that the Supreme Court ruled on this with West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette. It's against the First Amendment to compel speech. I do not and have not since 1962. Once I realized that a new kid was being bullied because she was Quaker, and her religion forbade the pledge, I stopped, too.

"I won't if you can't." (Plus, I think it's dumb.)
