The commissioners did not answer the email asking what we have to show for an additional investment of millions into the hospital after they endorsed the levy lid lift. Here is today's email send to the commissioners and Health Officer Berry:
Dear Commissioners and Health Officer Berry,
In today's Sundays with Seegers article regarding Clallam County's proposed drug-checking program, one document shows a job posting for an Overdose Prevention Coordinator. According to the posting, this position would be trained to operate a drug-checking machine, handle illegal drug samples brought in by participants, and provide information that could ultimately influence decisions made by people struggling with addiction.
Given the seriousness of those responsibilities, I was surprised to see the posting specifically encourage applications from people of color, LGBTQ-identified individuals, and people with lived experience involving drug use, homelessness, incarceration, or viral hepatitis.
Why was the emphasis placed on those characteristics rather than on technical qualifications, scientific training, laboratory experience, or other expertise directly related to drug analysis and public safety?
Was there a discussion by the Board or Health Department about why those recruitment priorities were chosen? In a position where a mistake could have serious consequences such as overdose or death, what qualifications were considered most important?
I don't know Mr. Seegers. When you walk into the courthouse to assume your place as a Commissioner aren't you worried that whatever happened to Ozias, Johnson, and French will happen to you as well, namely you'll lose every ounce of common sense?
What is it with these Commissioners who lose critical thought upon being elected?
The culture of our Commissioners is rotten to the core. We need fresh blood, not a politician. Where's the balance of thought with these three? It's like three frat boys out for a weekend of debauchery.
After hearing you interact with local people about harm reduction last night at the very well attended event I'm solidly with you and your bid for the D3 Commissioner position. Not to be missed, your upbringing steeped in care for people in need, the many hours you put into 4PA, and other efforts to modernize the county's harm reduction policies. You're someone who is offering us a balance needed with our Commissioners.
As I read this article I couldn't help but think of the Inspector Clouseau scene with the laughing gas to illustrate what I was envisioning would occur had this inbred plan gone through.
What the hell is going on? None of it makes sense. These programs are an oxymoron.
Oxymoron: a figure of speech that juxtaposes concepts with opposite meanings within a word or in a phrase that is a self-contradiction.
People’s Harm Reduction Alliance (PHRA) motto: ‘We Love You Just The Way You Are’
“We empower people who use drugs to live their own best possible lives. We provide a wide variety of other supplies, services, and referrals to help people who use drugs lead SAFER AND HEALTHIER LIVES”
It took the radical, racist, leftist democrats (current Clallam county leadership all departments) decades to get us to this rather decisive inflection point to now our county government is handing back drugs! they tested!. Bought and sold right next to the court house & sheriff's office & prosecutors office! This left-driven, violent madness will NOT be stopped reversed anytime quickly. This isn't like 're-spawning' in a video game, no matter what our basement dwelling sheriff's office/ health director office enablers tell you. At least half of all our county spending is likely fraudulent. And yet County Dems clamor for us to pay our fair share (more). Its become Clallam county governments main job to control and exploit the county population through demonization of old norms and values.
I have come to the conclusion that, in my honest opinion, you have given Dr. Berry permission to do anything she wants to in the name of 'harm reduction'. How much longer before one of the genius committee members decides to just test illegal drugs on discarded cats and dogs in the shelters? This is among the grossest representation of 'Savior Complex' I've ever heard of and Dr. Berry seems to only be a smidgen behind Fauci and Gates in her quest to save the world, by setting them up for a peaceful transition into Shangri La. Thank God it was stopped but I guarantee it's waiting for her to re-group and re-commit to this lunacy.
Mark O was asked why we can't have facilities like in the 60's for mentally ill people with a variety of ailments ( drug addiction)where they can be monitored and treated before going back into society and taking care of themselves. He said it won't be cost affective. It would get alot of folks off the streets and drugs..wouldnt that be alot more compassionate towards the tax payers and the folks that need help.also harm reduction is throwing money away and it costing more, and more, when does it stop.⁹
No common sense in Harm Reduction way to reduce drug use. They promote a lifestyle that causes more use and OD cases. Drug supplies do not make any one better only worse. The stats show that they are causing MORE harm and are just a bunch of taxpayer money grabbers that couldn’t work many other jobs. Cut the free stuff and we won’t have as many druggies from other places move here.
I can’t believe what I’m reading here. Has the county completely lost its mind? Is it trying to be a major stop on the drug users tour? Free drugs and services, including drug purity testing, great scenery, mild climate. Come to Clallam County.
This article actually proves the county system worked exactly like it's supposed to. They looked into a new program, the risk manager found a massive legal liability, and they shut it down before it ever started. Running a campaign on a disaster that never happened isn't a "gotcha"—it just shows the county has competent staff doing their jobs and protecting our tax dollars.
If Seegers wants to run on "common sense," where is his actual plan? Look at his website. It's nothing but vague bullet points like "Balance the Budget" and "Reduce Homelessness." Anyone can list goals, but a real leader has to show the math and the actual steps to fix things. Pointing fingers at the county while offering zero real plans of your own is a major double standard.
You again have no plan of your own. I am still waiting for your absent answers to what you have done to make this a better place. Jennifer is right that you have nothing to offer as a fix. Do something good today find something you like about CCWD people
or go hang out and bother your lib brothers that condone this free drug failed full of mismanaged public disaster.
Jeff, your following comment to the PDC cannot possibly be true:
"In addition, Clallam County Watchdog frequently includes independent commentary and analysis that may not be reviewed, approved, or endorsed by Jake Seegers or his campaign. Podcast episodes and articles containing commentary reflect the views of Clallam County Watchdog and are not reviewed by the campaign prior to publication."
You are the campaign manager, consequently everything you publish is reviewed by the campaign.
I think you're confusing me with the campaign itself.
Yes, I'm Jake's campaign manager. That doesn't mean I stop being an individual with my own opinions, projects, and activities outside the campaign.
Clallam County Watchdog existed long before Jake decided to run for office. I publish articles, podcasts, public records requests, interviews, and commentary on a wide range of local issues, most of which have nothing to do with Jake's campaign.
When I record a podcast, Jake doesn't sit beside me reviewing it. He doesn't approve my commentary before it airs. In many cases, he hasn't even heard it until everyone else does. Sometimes I agree with him, sometimes I don't. That's true of anyone I cover.
If being a campaign manager means every word I write or speak is automatically campaign speech, then campaign managers would effectively lose the ability to have independent opinions, operate a blog, write a letter to the editor, or participate in public life outside the campaign. That doesn't make much sense.
Being involved in a campaign doesn't mean every aspect of my life becomes part of the campaign.
Jeff, in the eyes of the law, the campaign manager is the campaign.
Under state PDC rules, a news blog cannot claim to be independent if it is run by a candidate’s campaign manager. Saying Jake didn’t review your articles doesn’t change the fact that you wrote them while actively running his election. A person can either run an independent blog or manage a political campaign, but doing both at the same time turns the blog into a campaign operation that must be legally reported.
If Mike French or any other local candidate had their campaign manager operating a "watchdog" site to post favorable coverage of themselves and negative coverage of opponents, it would be flagged immediately as a lack of transparency. Applying one standard of accountability to county officials and a different standard to your own operation undermines the credibility of the platform.
Read the PDN! All kinds of free campaign for Frenchie and nothing about the CCWD that portrays anything. The dems are piling it on Jeff because he is fighting the corruption you support. The dems are looking to change this campaign because it might break up their good old boy group. Try running a campaign on issues not court houses.
Pig could you send the PDC rules that apply to your quote and your source, "Under state PDC rules, a news blog cannot claim to be independent if it is run by a candidate’s campaign manager"? It would help give you credibility and open a relevant conversation.
I appreciated that suggestion and I contacted them in November. I was very transparent, and they said everything was fine. Now they seem to have changed their stance.

MK, I agree with your reply 100%. The you tube (Inspector Clouseau the dentist) was appropriate and entertaining ; )
HARM REDUCTION AIDED DEATHS: WHOSE DIRTY HANDS CAN’T BE WASHED?
The only truly safe and effective tip given in ALL the harm reduction drug administration instructions, that won’t kill, is “Wash Your Hands”
The epitaph on the addict’s tombstones should read as:
DIED WITH CLEAN HANDS
The epitaph on Dr Berry’s and CC Commissioner tombstone should read as:
DIED WITH DIRTY HANDS
