Good morning CCWD!

My thoughts on Sunbelt.

I am disenchanted with the “rebuild”.

Wasteful.

Unnecessary.

Fix up, yes.

Next…

Why are they doing this?

Anyone happen to realize the Shipley Center has purchased the JCPenney Building?

- With the moneys from the fallen Grays, I will call “them”.

The Recompete Program, Agenda 2030 is here.

Senior housing and “worker” housing is stationed downtown.

They want us to walk to everything, ride our bikes, own nothing and be happy.

Take a look at the “Sequim comprehensive plan”.

Don't say WE didn't warn you.

This is WHERE our TAXED ASSES are.

Today.

Next Tuesday- Busy Busy day for the commissioners and County residents. (see agenda)

Please Please Please!!!!!!!!!

Come to the Town Hall Meeting at 5:30 at the Courthouse.

See details.

Jeff can we highlight that in here somehow??

Everyone and their mother needs to BE there.🙌🏻🫵🏻💥

Write your letters.

We can do more than be a voice on here.

The BIG OTHERS need to hear & SEE the CCWD subscriber voices as they are Potent, Powerful & the Truth.

Be vigilant.

- see you there or send in you letters.

Ps.

thanks CCWD (and Doug, because you lend us your significant other) for all you do for our county and ALL of its people. 🙏🏼💪🏼💥😀

They obviously do NOT work For Us!

Theresa is correct...Agenda 21++++,in action, meaning all the roll-outs they have planned for us...without our consent OR knowledge... fortunately the knowledge is leaking out...hopefully pouring out!

There is nothing inherently wrong with SOME of the agendas, by not isolating the elders to the periphery and including them closer to town...may be a higher ideal...but it's the sneaky, back-handed, unconstitutional, lying, debt-ridden way that it's being implemented that's the problem...and the actual intent... is not to improve society but to control it...completely!

Not a happy ending.

We probably should take seriously the idea of some 'legacy' forest lands adjacent to streams or highly erodeable lands...but the sneaky, top down, overlording, self righteous way it's being done is disgusting.

There is no open dialogue between interested parties...only fascistic domination tactics, forcing things on people almost never works out well!

We have outlined the problems and there are many...we need to outline some solutions and understand that all the physical/material 'solutions' come first through mind...which comes through 'spirit'!

Which 'spirits' we choose is the question and the answer.

More to come...😇

I don't mean to distract from this article, but I just read it and am wondering if the county will adhere to the President's Proclamation: If not, it says it all.

"I also direct that the flag of the United States be displayed on all public buildings on the appointed day in honor of the great Christopher Columbus and all who have contributed to building our Nation" Will our county leaders honor it?

Quoted on Native News Online Staff Oct 9, 2025

https://nativenewsonline.net/currents/trump-declares-columbus-day-omits-indigenous-peoples-day-recognition

The White House on Thursday released a PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION designating Monday, October 13, 2025, as Columbus Day. In the statement, President Donald J. Trump praised the 15th-century explorer as “the original American hero” and “a giant of Western civilization.”

Starting in 2021, President Joe Biden had issued dual proclamations each October recognizing both Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day, reflecting a broader national shift toward acknowledging the history, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Many states and municipalities across the country have since replaced Columbus Day entirely with Indigenous Peoples’ Day, choosing to honor Native communities rather than European conquest

This year, however, only a Columbus Day proclamation was released — with no mention of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

In the proclamation, Trump sharply criticized recent efforts to reassess Columbus’s legacy, calling them an attempt to “ERASE OUR HISTORY” and “slander our heroes.” He went on to declare that “under my leadership, those days are finally over,” asserting that Columbus should be remembered as “a true American hero” whose determination shaped the nation’s destiny.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim October 13, 2025, as Columbus Day.  I call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.  I also direct that THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES BE DISPLAYED ON ALL PUBLIC BUILDINGS ON THE APPOINTED DAY in honor of the great Christopher Columbus and all who have contributed to building our Nation.

COLUMBUS DAY, 2025

October 9, 2025

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

Today our Nation honors the legendary Christopher Columbus — the original American hero, a giant of Western civilization, and one of the most gallant and visionary men to ever walk the face of the earth. This Columbus Day, we honor his life with reverence and gratitude, and we pledge to reclaim his extraordinary legacy of faith, courage, perseverance, and virtue from the left-wing arsonists who have sought to destroy his name and dishonor his memory.

Born in Genoa, Italy in 1451, Columbus quickly emerged as a titan of the Age of Exploration. On August 3, 1492, following years of intense study, preparation, and petitioning, Christopher Columbus secured funding from the Spanish Crown to set out on a daring expedition that most believed to be impossible. Commissioned by Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, Columbus and his crew boarded three small ships — the Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria — to set sail on a perilous voyage across the Atlantic. He was guided by a noble mission: to discover a new trade route to Asia, bring glory to Spain, and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to distant lands.

Just over 2 months later, on October 12, 1492, Columbus made landfall in the modern-day Bahamas. Upon his arrival, he planted a majestic cross in a mighty act of devotion, dedicating the land to God and setting in motion America’s proud birthright of faith. Though he initially believed he had arrived in Asia, his discovery opened the vast frontier and untold splendors of the New World to Europe. He later ventured onward to Cuba and other islands in the Caribbean — exploring their coasts and engaging with their people.

Guided by steadfast prayer and unwavering fortitude and resolve, Columbus’s journey carried thousands of years of wisdom, philosophy, reason, and culture across the Atlantic into the Americas — paving the way for the ultimate triumph of Western civilization less than three centuries later on July 4, 1776.

Outrageously, in recent years, Christopher Columbus has been a prime target of a vicious and merciless campaign to erase our history, slander our heroes, and attack our heritage. Before our very eyes, left-wing radicals toppled his statues, vandalized his monuments, tarnished his character, and sought to exile him from our public spaces. Under my leadership, those days are finally over — and our Nation will now abide by a simple truth: Christopher Columbus was a true American hero, and every citizen is eternally indebted to his relentless determination.

As we celebrate his legacy, we also acknowledge the contributions of the countless Italian-Americans who, like him, have endlessly contributed to our culture and our way of life. To this day, the United States and Italy share a special bond rooted in the timeless values of faith, family, and freedom. My Administration looks forward to strengthening our long and storied friendship in the years to come.

This Columbus Day, more than 500 years since Columbus arrived in the New World, we follow his example, we echo his resolve, and we offer our gratitude for his life of valor and grit. Above all, we commit to restoring a Nation that once again dares to tame the unknown, honors our rich cultural inheritance, and offers rightful praise to our Creator above.

In commemoration of Christopher Columbus’s historic voyage, the Congress, by joint resolution of April 30, 1934, and modified in 1968 (36 U.S.C. 107), as amended, has requested the President proclaim the second Monday of October of each year as “Columbus Day.”

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this ninth day of October, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.

DONALD J. TRUMP

Indigenous people mistreated each other. LOL. Stealing people from tribes to make them slaves was common practice among the coastal tribes, or so I learned researching the Dungeness Massacre.

Why can’t the tribes just pick another day and let Italian-Americans keep their day? Oh, that would be considerate, that’s why. I guess stealing is what they do. LOL.

I believe Howard Zinn’s textbook is responsible for much of the negative feelings toward Columbus. Without addressing Zinn’s and others’ concerns, why did Columbus dominate the first chapter of Zinn’s U. S. history book? Columbus never set foot on any U. S. soil or territory, and Columbus had no part whatsoever in our founding.

Expand full comment
Jennifer's avatar

Don, I really am not familiar with H Zinn (yet) but my support comes from what the man (Columbus) represented. Az was the last state to recognize MLKing Day. Until it did, I kept my kids out of school and on the (holiday) taught my children what he represented. As a man, he had many flaws, but it was his cause I supported.

Columbus Day, whether he set foot on the US soil or not, is (at this point) not the issue IMO. Time has turned Columbus Day into American Pride.

Teri Vanzant's avatar

So Pride is to be celebrated for an entire month as long as it's gay pride but pride that encompasses one day, as you suggest Columbus Day does, can't be 'celebrated' for one? Tearing down a system without even a clear idea of what should replace it is a dangerous game. History shows us that kind of chaos leads to violence, on nearly every continent.

And yet, our nation stands apart. In just 250 years, we’ve built something that much of the world still envies, a system inspired by the endurance of the Roman Republic, refined by the courage and vision of those who came before us.

Yes, we have a right to keep our history. These modern usurpers have no foundation as great, no governance as enduring, only the arrogance of those who rob themselves and then blame others for the emptiness left behind.

Every nation, tribe, and people has its own history, its heroes, its battles. Ours is no different. But rather than tearing down what binds us together, why not celebrate the best in all of them? We honor our war heroes, flawed though they may have been, because they stood for something larger than themselves.

So yes, I’ll defend our history. I’ll defend our right to remember it, all of it.

Thanks, Robert, for letting me vent. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Let us once again, remember the horrific social conditions most, if not all of the 'original' inhabitants of the Caribbean and the Americas lived in prior to being subjugated by 'europeans'.

Raiding, slavery, cannibalism, voodoo, torture and mayhem were the normal conditions.

I will never justify the horrors forced on these people by the europeans...but they were considered 'savages' for a reason!

It wasn't just their lack of sophistication...it was the horrific realities they lived with and under...the demons of western religion were the lesser of the evils, it seems to me!

Again, not justifying it, just saying...the human condition has never been one of peace and unity overall.

My Mom married a Samoan guy and I once asked him how the Polynesians lived 'in balance' with nature, before Europeans!

He said:"Wars and cannibalism!"

Enuf said!😎

It's refreshing to see that someone acknowledges what even the tribes say amongst themselves. There weren't a lot of saints running around during Colonial times. It was a harsh existence on both sides of the fence and the amount of rhetoric that has risen since the 1990s is all part of this 'presentism' fascination where we get to look back and fake outrage at what happened when this country was new.

As a last thought, this two-spirit nonsense is just another new catchphrase to pretend relevance, similar to the made up terms of non-binary and cisgender. Here's what's been said about it: Coined in 1990 as a primarily ceremonial term promoting community recognition, in recent years more individuals have taken to self-identifying as two-spirit. Two-spirit, as a term and concept, is neither used nor accepted universally in Native American cultures. Indigenous cultures that have traditional roles for gender-nonconforming people have names in their own Indigenous languages for these people and the roles they fill in their communities. There have been gay members of society since the dawn of society and as for non-binary, I suspect that might just be a more 'friendly' way of saying psychotic.

Denise, thank you. Below is what is happening. Not only will it not be "shared" but it is being proposed as a state employee holiday.

We can look forward to this Bill passing. NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE DAY

https://citizenportal.ai/articles/2188666/Washington/Washington-state-adds-Native-American-Heritage-Day-to-official-holiday-list

On January 13, 2025, the Washington State Senate introduced Senate Bill 5046, a legislative proposal aimed at amending the state's LEGAL HOLIDAY FRAMEWORK legal. The bill seeks to clarify and expand the list of recognized state holidays while also addressing employee entitlements regarding additional paid holidays.

The primary purpose of Senate Bill 5046 is to formalize the observance of specific holidays, including THE ADDITION OF NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE DAY which is designated for the Friday following Thanksgiving. This amendment reflects a growing recognition of the contributions and history of Native American communities in Washington State. The bill also reaffirms existing holidays such as New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day, ensuring they remain part of the state's official holiday calendar.

Key provisions of the bill include STIPULATIONS THAT STATE EMPLOYEES AND THOSE IN POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS, with certain exceptions, are entitled to ONE ADDITIONAL PAID HOLIDAY each calendar year. This holiday can be selected by the employee after consultation with their employer, promoting flexibility and accommodating diverse cultural observances among the workforce.

Debate surrounding Senate Bill 5046 has focused on its IMPLICATIONS FOR STATE BUDGETS and the potential impact on public services. Some lawmakers have expressed concerns about the FINANCIAL BURDEN OF ADDITIONAL PAID HOLIDAYS, particularly in the context of already strained state resources. However, proponents argue that recognizing diverse holidays fosters inclusivity and acknowledges the historical significance of various cultural observances.

The bill's introduction comes at a time when discussions about equity and representation in state policies are increasingly prominent. Experts suggest that the passage of Senate Bill 5046 could set a precedent for further legislative efforts aimed at enhancing cultural recognition within state frameworks. If enacted, the bill may also influence similar legislative initiatives in other states, reflecting a broader trend toward inclusivity in public policy.

As the legislative session progresses, stakeholders will closely monitor the bill's trajectory, including any proposed amendments or opposition that may arise. The outcome of Senate Bill 5046 could have lasting implications for state employees and the recognition of cultural heritage in Washington State's legal framework.

Governance has digressed from it's intended purpose of infrastructure, economic opportunity and safety into social management or what I prefer to term as minority-ism. The preoccupation with minority-ism has become so hungry for votes that is has digressed to it's newest category in the form of sexual deviancy. Sexual deviancy does imply illness or wrong doing. It simply describes sexual orientation that deviates from the norm. There is an irony in politicians championing minority-ism for votes while the minorities see no associated benefit. Regardless, none of minority-ism is a charge of Government. Media, NGOs, spiritual organizations and society at large can and will address whomever they deem to be disadvantaged, but using mandatory taxation to address minority-ism will destroy our own Government. After DEI, MWBE, BLM, LGBTQ+, gender, ethnicity and ancestry what is next for our Government ? Viva la Mexico ? A fund to support transsexuals who have transitioned back to heterosexuality ? Let Government keep us safe and let society deal with society.

Clallam County Commissioners have a serious budget 101 problem. Clearly they don't know how to live within their means while making safety a priority!

From Grok: "Clallam County's 2025 adopted budget allocates 71% of its general fund (~$40.2 million out of $56.6 million in expenditures) to personnel costs, including salaries, wages, and benefits for ~333 full-time equivalents. "

"Nationwide available sources indicate that Clallam's 71% exceeds typical benchmarks for similar-sized counties (population 50,000–100,000). These counties, often rural or semi-rural, average 60–70% on personnel in their general funds, per U.S. Census Bureau and Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) analyses of 2021–2023 fiscal data. Broader local government trends show personnel (salaries and benefits) comprising ~40–50% of total direct expenditures across all funds, but this rises to 60%+ in general funds due to their focus on operational staffing over capital or restricted projects."

Thank you, Phillip (and Grok) for the 333 full-time equivalents, (employees?).

I am using my number from yesterday for salaries and benefits of $41,212,000, which is a bit higher than Grok’s ~$40,200,000.

$41,212,000/333 = $123,760 per “employee” per year, say twice the average income for those In Clallam County reporting to Washington State Employment Security.

What have I done wrong?

Without digging deeper into the budget detail, the number you calculate is an average fully burdened annual cost per full time (FT) equivalent employee. Now some employees are not FT, and some make much more that $123k/yr.

Nonetheless, we can see how Clallam has voted itself much higher pay than other similar counties and critical services have and will continue to be impacted! To address this problem, the county will either need to cut wages, or freze wages, or layoff staff, or cut programs/NGOs (my vote) or raise taxes!

The only place I can think of that would/could accommodate a large group of folks in Sequim would be Carrie Blake Park but knowing the crooks in the government I would guess that they would send the local police to screw with us. I have never held a large event like that, but maybe some folks here on The Watchdog would be best capable of figuring the details out. Other than simple word of mouth, as far as I know "we" are on the largest platform for good folks on Clallam County to get together to discuss such things right now, right here on The Clallam County Watchdog~! The election system throughout Washington State, with the blind unaccountable mail in voting only, has definitely been rigged for decades, so "we" need to completely overwhelm the cheat with every vote we can muster~! Have a great weekend and stay safe~! Sincerely, Mike

Great thought Patriot Robert James~!

I think some VERY hard labor would do a world of good for these scumbags who likely never worked a real day in their miserable leeching lives~! I would be in favor of having their work videoed for folks to be able to see justice being carried out and what they can expect if they follow in the criminal footsteps of these treasonous lunatics~! Yes, we can discuss their fate after a lengthy period of community service, but I am thinking a couple of years minimum would be better than a measly 90 days... Then some prison time and more community service as part of any release back into the general public. Of course, I reserve the right to completely investigate exactly what they have done and if they have committed ANY further crimes that we don't even know about yet that need to be addressed. For example... What roles did these criminals play before, during, and after the COVID & deadly "vaccine" mass murder attacks, because that my friend is a crime against humanity and that does carry the death penalty~! Have a great weekend and keep the faith~! Sincerely, Mike

On the question of road safety, I offer a low cost yet simple solution. We don't need a grant to study the problem. Install 2 or more STOP SIGNS at these intersections.

Expand full comment
Robert James's avatar

They are 'running' the stop signs! That's the main problem...or just not seeing oncoming traffic...4 way stops...stop and bunch traffic MORE...once upon a time there were 4-way yields with 'right of way'! How far we have fallen!

As with voting...not every one should be driving!🥸

Expand full comment
Kenneth B Brown's avatar

Robert, you are correct. But the short-term solution is to stop everybody at these points of congestion and reduce the safety hazard. In case someone runs the stop sign, the others won't be involved.... so there won't be an accident. The point is not everybody plays by the rules, and people are getting hurt.

Yes, they Lobby for Democratic Party.

They keep 3% percent as profit and the rest is kept in a *holding company, used for Patagonia's Philanthropy Fund.

Patagonia Fund's the Democratic Party and the Values they push... So for today, I don't agree with those values.

I stopped supporting Patagonia.

I stopped supporting Victoria's Secret

As I understand it, CCWD is Primarily a forum of disclosure and discussion about gov't accountability.

I don't see it as unrelated to philosophize and make spiritual and psychological tie-ins, which may Seem unrelated but I assure you...everything is related in some way...it takes all the skills and insights we can muster to deal with corruption...so I offer some 'different ' ideas about how to possibly move forward.

If my writings are 'difficult for some to follow'...then I should self-censor and keep to the narrow corridor of defining the problems?

If Jeff asks me to limit my sharing, I would consider it, as it's his website.

Please disregard any of my writings which don't apply to you...the intention IS to stretch peoples thinking, as we have been programmed very narrowly for generations and expansive critical thinking is not our collective strong suit. Being critical is easy...I do it all the time...reaching beyond to what might actually make a difference is my goal!

Old Aggies is a testament to the results of the policies of Clallum County politicians who don't work for the people but for NGOs ,lobby money ,their political party .A once nice place that no one could buy and keep running as a hotel ,restaurant ,lounge because the city said there wasn't enough parking ? So instead it was turned into a shelter and look at it now ? So the Commissioners want the taxpayers to throw even more hard earned tav dollars again and again at failed programs, policies that enable drug addiction ,high crime , OD deaths second ,third highest depending on which year in the state ?

Just some 'random' thoughts...about how things came to be!☺️

@robertjames4953

If the stories are based in collective experience...there is always truth to be had...some just want to hide it or erase it...myths are ALWAYS based in some 'real' experience, whether physical, psychological, spiritual,/energetical or all of the above.

Every THING comes from (for us) the invisible!

In the beginning...there was NO-THING! Only desire, thought, awakening...then 'the word' was spoken!

Words are symbols...made of sounds...sounds are frequencies...frequencies are vibrations...vibrations are energy-expressed...the only mystery is what or who started the expressions...and who or what could ever stop them?

We ARE in a Matrix, friends...Mater-ix...the womb of the Mother-Aspect of Creation...make no mistake...both creation and evolution are complementary, not exclusive.

Genetic manipulation by intelligent species is nothing new either...'Let Us make Man in OUR image and likeness"...not from scratch... but from apes...we didn't evolve from apes...we were genetically altered to quickly 'evolve' beyond apes but the 'evolution' is an accelerated scientific process, not a slow, natural process!

Genetic science proves this with telomeres and gene-splicing changes which do not follow the slow evolutionary path...research...fire your own passion for exploration and discovery! It's why sentient beings exist...to exist is to be...'outside of'...something...it's up to us to 'find IT'...then we can go home and rest awhile...before the next great adventure!😊

It's all recorded in the ancient texts...Sumerian, Akkadian, Judaeo-Christian, Muslim, etc. AND correlated by the oral histories all over the Earth...It's a puzzle...and we have most of the pieces assembled...what we will do with it remains to be seen! God loves a good drama!🎭😇🙏🏼🔜

My response to Phillip Bates comment. What do you think?

Thank you, Phillip (and Grok) for the 333 full-time equivalents, (employees?).

I am using my number from yesterday for salaries and benefits of $41,212,000, which is a bit higher than Grok’s ~$40,200,000.

$41,212,000/333 = $123,760 per “employee” per year, say twice the average income for those In Clallam County reporting to Washington State Employment Security.

What have I done wrong?

Let’s be honest: threatening layoffs while keeping leadership pay intact is political theater. The article documents proposed cuts even as critics question administrative spending…but Congress gets paid during shutdowns, so why should local officials be exempt from belt-tightening? I agree they shouldn’t be. But here we are.

Blaming cultural events for “exclusion” misses the point entirely. Centering Native voices at Indigenous Peoples’ Day isn’t a shut-out; it’s intentional context and respect. You wouldn’t ask white folks to lead Juneteenth or tell the Irish how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. That’s not exclusion. That’s cultural integrity.

Yes, voters deserve clarity about where officials are and who they meet with, but innuendo isn’t accountability. And calling compassion “negligence” without tying it to documented decisions? That’s just noise.

Equal media access has merit, but let’s be real: Incumbents speak from accountability and newspapers aren’t bound by equal time rules, and the Fairness Doctrine that once enforced balance in broadcast media was repealed decades ago. There’s no legal requirement just civic expectation.

Infrastructure delays? Of course. If the county’s broke, it can’t do everything. So which is it; mismanagement or scarcity? You can’t have it both ways.

MK's avatar

What's more important when the SHTF? If you assert this is all noise then are you just adding to the noise to talk about the noise?

Core services are primary in my book. What are you going to vote for? Progressives who can't control their spending on non-essential matters because they're focused on self-serving platitudes, or someone who understands the realities of the conundrum this county is in? Whoever is running next and has some modicum of sense gets my vote and it's not to spite progressive policy or the tenets they espouse to, it's to get back to the realities we're facing locally.

And if that ladies and gentlemen doesn't sum up this upcoming property tax hike in a nutshell, then I don't know what else would.

Might I add Ann Henninger is all over next door right now giving the people what they wanna hear.

I don’t disagree, core services are primary. But let’s be honest: both parties have been irresponsible.

Jeff’s narrative leans on distrust without receipts, it’s time to interrogate the narrator. Is he offering solutions or just spotlighting differences? Naming failures or feeding frustration? Frankly,I read more of the latter .

New isn’t automatically better. Competence matters. Honesty matters. Scapegoating never does.

MK's avatar

You won't find me party blaming other than the current 3 commissioners get all the blame because they're in charge. Chain of command, you know it.

Now if the current 3 lean left that's coincidence in my book so I can't blame Jeff for calling out our current situation, even if it was a conservative leadership, but it isn't so that's where the appropriate focus is.

I'm not clear what receipts you're looking for, but I believe that he's called out plenty that are spot on. Are all? Maybe not, but that doesn't dimish the serious stuff that he's shared.

Blame the commissioners if you must but I haven’t seen an alternative that’s actually better. Jeff’s playing fast and loose with the facts, tossing out rumors like confetti and calling it engagement.

The Commissioners deserve blame for not being more judicious with how they spend our tax dollars, but qualifying that position as a must suggests that you have no quarrel with their indescriminate spending habits. Appreciate that you haven't seen a better alternative, but when 2 of the 3 went into election day unopposed, and the third was definitely a better choice than the competition is it agreement or acceptance you're suggesting?

You're still playing defense attorney with Jeff trying to impugn him rather than look at the elephant in the room.
