The commissioners did not respond to yesterday's email asking if they would send a letter of support on behalf of their constituents to keep the Dungeness and Protection Island Refuges in the public domain. Here is today's email sent to the commissioners and Health Officer Berry.

Dear Commissioners French, Ozias, Johnson, and Dr. Berry,

Reports indicate there were at least two overdoses in Port Angeles this past week. Residents are asking important questions.

Did these individuals overdose using paraphernalia distributed through the County’s Harm Reduction Health Center or related programs? Were they revived? Did they enter treatment afterward? Is the County tracking whether people are actually finding recovery and a path out of addiction?

The public regularly hears statistics about needles, meth pipes, boofing kits, crack pipe cleaning kits, and Narcan distributed, but far less about measurable recovery outcomes.

Is the County measuring long-term success such as treatment entry, sobriety, reduced addiction, and stabilized lives, or primarily tracking distribution numbers?

Programs like Operation Shielding Hope appear focused on connecting overdose survivors to treatment and recovery. Is the County comparing those outcomes to current harm reduction strategies?

What metrics does the County consider success?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

The problem lies in the current leaders is no solutions to any of this. Then you become a rude person if you back Jake. The signs they have portrayed is crude and not for public display. Free speech has its limits when it affects others people’s lives. Immoral values have us in a tailspin in this county. We need some honest representation. Vote JAKE!

One person cleaning bathrooms for 3 years, 2023-2026, is a salary of approximately $167,000 per year…..that’s crazy! But it’s tax dollars so who cares right?

Two people cleaning bathrooms for 3 years, 2023-2026, is a salary of approximately $84,000 per year…..still crazy! Again tax dollars who cares?

I care, everyone should care, Mr. Mark Hodgson should really care about tax dollars! BUT we elect people that don’t care all they care about is the CON, they care far less about taxpayers & more about how they can create more services that wastes money.

Quote, “That proposal came despite city staff warning that the Parks Department has spent nearly half a million dollars cleaning outdoor restrooms since 2023.” There you go DO THE MATH!

That's not what the boots on the ground worker earns though. layers of city admin get their cut

Enabling and supplying paraphernalia to continue using drugs "safely" is akind to advising a bank robber how to rob a bank by giving him internal security measures, guns, a flak jacket and the combination to the safe, then telling cops not to shoot. Would this dissuade robbers or embolden them? Insanity.

You get what you vote for. Clallam County leadership is dominated by liberal blue state politics. Until and unless this flips, sadly it ain’t gonna get much better anytime soon.

Who's counting the votes?

After Alex Fane picks them up uncounted...

There is currently some research being done on that as we speak.

Good morning Jeff and Doggers,

It's so sad that a group can not handle an opposing idea. We have discussions and find common ground to have a good solution. It can and has worked since time immemorial...

Thanks all and have a great weekend!

Remember a fallen one ...

Our state Supreme Court races may not dominate the headlines, but their decisions shape our daily lives. A few years ago, the Blake decision dramatically changed Washington’s drug laws—and not for the better. Now we face a proposed bail reform bill that would further weaken accountability and make our communities less safe.

I recently attended an event where I spoke one-on-one with Dave Larson, who is running for our state Supreme Court. We spent about ten minutes discussing the bail proposal and its real-world impact on public safety. He understands that compassion and accountability are not opposites—and that without meaningful consequences, we are not helping people, we are abandoning them. He has my vote.

For too long, our “leadership” class—political, academic, legal, even medical—has embraced a version of compassion that ignores law, order, and basic common sense. We see the results in our streets, our courts, and our neighborhoods. Even law schools are now quietly backing away from some of the DEI-driven trends of the last twenty years, but the damage is already visible.

If we want to change course, it starts with who we put in positions of authority: judges, prosecutors, legislators, and local officials. That means doing the hard work of researching candidates instead of relying on social media trends or slogans. State Supreme Court races are not “background noise.” They are front-line decisions about whether our communities will be safe, orderly, and livable.

These are highly important positions. Vote wisely—and please take the time to know who you’re voting for.

Denise Lapio's avatar

Yes, CAS! For too long we put too much faith in our judges without really questioning their past judgments. As we in CC are experiencing our own questioning of current judges, we now know to scrutinize who is on the ballot.

MK's avatar

Thank you for this thoughtful response. Clallam County is largely in the position it finds itself in because of the court. Larson and David Stevens are important choices for what I believe to be neutral vs the current leaning composition.

Thank you for the weekly mashup CCWD. Certain individual (PW) misses the informational point here. Some of us are concerned what's going on in County and the fact that leadership is making things worse with their ridiculous failed policies. There are folks on here that express their concerns and push back. When we ask or suggest, petition it gets ignored because the leadership is beholding to their donors or to their aspirations by virtue signalling. Keep up the good work CCWD AND vote for common sense VOTE Jake Seegers!!

All great issues to highlight, Jeff! And they come with pictures for good reference. Yikes! If the JST wants to practice preferential discrimination for hiring for its businesses, then the businesses need to be fully funded with the Tribe's own money - not mine and that includes grants, loans, and any gift from NGOs. You have to practice what you preach, or no one will want to do business with you.

The East end of the Sequim QVC parking lot has been a dangerous nasty area for years now! The auto parking homeless area between the Sound Bank and the Japanese restaurant has been an ugly garbage pit for at least 7 or 8+ years. We were told at least one homeless woman that we tried to help died in her car there a couple of years ago... The breezeway from the Dollar Store and the Carrie Lake Park area has a big hedge on the East side of the building that gives cover to a graffiti covered wall where young people regularly do drugs. The garbage, and God only know what, next to the Japanese restaurant keeps us from ever eating there. Not a chance! We quit going to the QVC at least 4 years ago now because of the terrible abusive behavior of the cashiers, especially during the peak of the COVID assault, and we both got poisoned by something VERY dangerous in the seafood (shrimp) at the meat counter. We are sure that whatever poisoned us from the QVC can and no doubt has killed people. NO KIDDING! We do still go to the Coastal store for ranch & farm supplies, and we have never had any bad experiences from the workers there~! In 2010 we moved into a rental just a couple of miles from the QVC shopping center and the owners had to disclose that two previous renters had been attacked in broad daylight by two armed "Hispanic males" who beat them, robbed them, and locked them in a hallway closet, while they escaped into the neighborhood. We know that the local government, police, and media didn't warn anyone in Clallam County that these two dangerous armed criminals were loose in the community~! We would NOT go anywhere in Clallam County without carrying guns to protect ourselves these days! You would have to be COMPLETELY insane to go anywhere in our community without numerous methods of personal protection, especially if you are keeping up with what has been going on here over the past 15+++ years~! I have lived in, worked in, or near, some of the most dangerous cities and areas in America over the past 50+ years, and Clallam County is easily as dangerous as any of them now. The natural beauty of our area hides the true natural and human risks that are present, so enjoy every day but don't get lulled into a false sense of security... One of us monitors the ridiculous "Next Door" platform, but that would be the last place in the world that we would go to attempt to have any honest mature conversation with anyone. We keep an eye on the Next Door BS, so we know what the local lunatics are doing here, but there is no other value in reading the garbage there and we don't care about the political "progressive socialist" Brainwashing crappola~! Enjoy your life but be aware of your surroundings at all times~!

Sincerely, Mike

A couple years or so ago I was in the Dollar Store when one of the employees started yelling for someone to out of the bathroom or we'll call the cops, we know you're doing drugs in there! It was good to see a business being proactive but they should never have to deal with this, and what if he came out violent? After a long while the guy did come out but I doubt it was the last time they had to deal with him.

TLL's avatar

Ditto the second half.

Hello, Patriot TLL~!

Yes, every day we see good folks being harmed and even killed because they foolishly assumed that they would be safe! Yes, most folks can go out in public and be safe most of the time, but obviously the police can't be "everywhere" so everyone needs to take their own safety seriously... It is just a matter of personal responsibility! I have been in several situations where having the ability to defend myself, or others, was the difference between life and death or at least no one getting hurt... Ha! Well, one time I had to save someone who was in direct danger of being bitten by a rattlesnake, so the rattlesnake had to be "quickly dispatched"! Yummy :) It needed a little salt and maybe some BBQ sauce would have been good...

Sincerely, Mike

Michael Heath's avatar

Hello, Patriot Kathy~!

Yes, we do shop at The Dollar Store sometimes as well, and the folks who work there are pretty decent. I am sure that some people have been using these public restrooms to do drugs (and God only knows what else) for a long time, but of course that does not mean that they are necessarily violent. Obviously, ALL American men, women, and children have the right to be safe, and you are correct that some of these more serious drug users who do the really dangerous drugs can sometimes definitely become a danger to good folks. Sadly, many places like the Goodwill store just closed their restrooms to the customers entirely because too many jerks were making a mess and/or abusing the facility. We understand that some of the homeless folks were responsible for the closing of the Goodwill Store bathroom... That obviously becomes a serious problem for those of us who need to use these bathrooms, people won't shop for very long in stores that do not have restrooms, and our community suffers! Real folks get hurt because of the corrupt governments "harm reduction" BS and in many different ways but all added all up and considering that the harm reduction policy has failed spectacularly "we" need to get rid of these corrupt criminals in our government ASAP~! Encouraging and attracting more & more homeless people to our community is COMPLETELY insane and definitely NOT compassion towards anyone! Keep up the good work and together we can put an end to this madness~!

Sincerely,

Mike

NextDoor= Anti-Social Media

It’s where independent thinking goes to die!

It’s truly the most over scrutinized place to express opinions.

They just don’t want that kind of behavior from contributors!

Michael Heath's avatar

That is what I hear from my wife, Lisa. Apparently Next Door is a platform that few would want to live "next door" to! Ha! The Irony is absolutely hilarious :) The "speech thugs" of the Next-Door platform are disgraces to America, but what would anyone expect from a socialist/communist dominated platform of controlled speech garbage~? I am sure that there are some great folks on Next Door who are trying to have honest, civil, and Intelligent conversations but with the social bullies dictating the rules and playing "god", I am sure that folks are just wasting their time there. As in all things however, the social thugs on Next Door do good folks a BIG favor by revealing their true underhanded "power trip" nature for all to see and that is a true gift because these low life's are making themselves and their evil agenda known for exactly what it truly is... Americans can then make the choice to put up with the "speech thug" scumbags or tell them to go "F" themselves and find better ways to communicate as all Americans should ;-) These socialist/communist (satanist) dregs of humanity made a HUGE mistake by revealing themselves so clearly over the past 10 or so years, because they don't have the numbers or power to achieve their dastardly plan to destroy America, Ha! As an old student of history, I have studied MANY times that these Satan worshipers have made exactly the same mistake by coming out from under their rocks to reveal themselves WAY too early and "POOF" they always go down in flames~! This time I am sure that a LOT of these criminals of humanity won't be getting off of the hook so easily, because if they do, they will just come back again and again. We need to secure America's future for the future generations, without these scumbags always creating problems, so it is time for an historic Grand Purge! Have a great Memorial Day where we NEVER forget all of the great folks who were killed fighting against these same kinds of criminals of humanity~!!!

Sincerely, Mike

Mike, as usual such great words. I do fear for the easily intimidated, because NextDoor will use them to wipe the floor with. But if those commenters visit CCWatchdog, they will get a refreshing invitation to sit at the table(uncensored) so to speak. And Jeff has presented us with such a gracious opportunity to express feelings. Also, identifying problems when you don’t know the solution isn’t stirring up trouble. Knowledge is power, and the more like minded citizen understand, the more the “think tank” mentality evolves. Thank you Jeff and as always we benefit from your wisdom, Mike!

Michael Heath's avatar

Good evening, Patriot Susan C Bonallo~!

Thank you for your kind words and wonderful compliments as always! Yes, these social bullies and thugs on Next Door and sprinkled throughout the community have big mouths and nasty things to say, but "oddly" they sure don't frequent places with many Patriotic Individuals because they know that they would not be tolerated and if they push it they could get "monkey stomped"~! Yes, unfortunately, these bullies and thugs do scare some of the weakest and least Intelligent Individuals like the snake charmers that they are, but fortunately more & more folks are waking up to their simple-minded age-old manipulations. Humanity is currently making a "transition" into a higher frequency, where these clowns who have been running their clown show will no longer have the power that they have abused for centuries and Individual freedom will become cherished as well it should always be. The suckers who follow the clowns will keep suffering and burn out, or sadly they will die because they are on the wrong side of history. Being on the wrong side of history is painful at best, and deadly in the worst-case scenario. I really don't see myself as being all that wise, but just as an old American Constitutionalist who LONG ago dedicated my life to learning how to walk the walk of an American Constitutionalist... Yes, absolutely, these criminals HATE it when we do our duty to discuss and properly identify the problems that we face, because THEY are at the very root of them because that is what makes them criminals in the first place. So, it really is understandable that the last thing that the criminals want it to be discovered for their evil dealings. Many criminals have quickly met their end when they were discovered for their crimes and evil Intentions ;-) We are all flawed and none of us will ever be "prefect" because humans can't achieve such a high standard, but to strive for anything less is to fail to do our best and to be kept from working together is an instant way to discover the criminals among us... Have a great Memorial Day tomorrow and keep up all of the great work that you do my friend~!

Sincerely, Mike

Always fun to see a comment of yours make it CCWD and boy howdy that angry logger :D

The gall of folks to have such appalling signs get their panties is such a bunch over someone else who is not waving an appalling sign is pretty hysterical.

Sure does take away from their credibility.

It's interesting to me that more and more advertisements for tribal employment show a preference for a tribal background. But the leader of the tribe is something like 80% white European? Maybe he should seek out someone who is more 'native American' to be the leader...fair is fair! My heritage goes back to the Mayflower in Massachusetts, but my DNA says I'm 3% native American. Is that enough to claim a preference in hiring? Why not!

Kurt's avatar

Time to stop making homeless and natives more important then anyone else we are all equal and dont owe anyone anything this is the present day and the safety of our kids should come first alot of homeless choose to be that way and the mess and danger of needles they leave everywhere is unacceptable they should pickup their mess tired of seeing it everywhere i want to take the kids

Yes they do. And I think the main poster was out of town for a day or two this past week so the numbers would be higher. I don't know how they do it, they absolutely deserve breaks.
