The commissioners did not respond to yesterday's question asking how DEI factors into wildfire planning. Here is today's email sent to all three commissioners:
Dear Commissioners Ozias, French, and Johnson,
Clallam County voluntarily pays about $40,000 each year to belong to the Washington State Association of Counties. Commissioner Ozias serves as WSAC President, and Commissioner French serves on its Legislative Steering Committee. Given those leadership positions, would you ever consider using the county's voice through WSAC to encourage the Legislature to revisit the agreement that allows tribal gas stations to retain 75% of the state gas tax collected on qualifying fuel sales?
Counties across Washington continue to struggle with road maintenance and transportation funding, while the Jamestown Corporation appears to be in a strong enough financial position to provide monthly stipends to tribal members. From the outside looking in, it raises a reasonable question about whether the current revenue-sharing formula still reflects today's financial realities.
Has Clallam County ever taken a position on this issue through WSAC? If not, is it something you would consider advocating for in the future?
We should all have our friends and family apply for the $150 gas rebate and give the cards back to us. We could all get the money that has been allotted for non citizens of CC.what a slap in the face. This state is stealing our money for their WOKE policies. No state income tax is not far off but I feel I am already paying it.😫
Here is an update from my ongoing crusade at DRMT. Last week the chair put forth a rule that public commenters could not repeat testimony they have given before. The rule is clearly meant for me. More often than not I am the only public commenter they have.
Its quite a "Democracy" when you are only allowed one objection one time and then you must never again talk about that issue.
I have threatened to make a swastikas sign and stand on the corner. I need a DRMT themed swastika sign. One comment on one issue.
Thank you John for being a voice for the rest of us at DRMT meetings. If comments by the public are now limited to one time only the same rule should apply to DRMT as well. I'm sure that would be deemed a silly idea by DRMT.
