The commissioners did not respond to yesterday's question asking how DEI factors into wildfire planning. Here is today's email sent to all three commissioners:
Dear Commissioners Ozias, French, and Johnson,
Clallam County voluntarily pays about $40,000 each year to belong to the Washington State Association of Counties. Commissioner Ozias serves as WSAC President, and Commissioner French serves on its Legislative Steering Committee. Given those leadership positions, would you ever consider using the county's voice through WSAC to encourage the Legislature to revisit the agreement that allows tribal gas stations to retain 75% of the state gas tax collected on qualifying fuel sales?
Counties across Washington continue to struggle with road maintenance and transportation funding, while the Jamestown Corporation appears to be in a strong enough financial position to provide monthly stipends to tribal members. From the outside looking in, it raises a reasonable question about whether the current revenue-sharing formula still reflects today's financial realities.
Has Clallam County ever taken a position on this issue through WSAC? If not, is it something you would consider advocating for in the future?
WSAC a' NGO' designed to be controlled by state so counties comply with state agendas.Is there a law that says counties have to belong to WSAC? I doubt it, this is another NGO that supports liberal taxaholic radical incompetents. Clallam co board commissioners spending-wasting hundreds of thousands $$$ on useless NGO's & consultants that do not do squat,their main objective is to dream up new fees-fines-higher taxes.
The Jamestown Corporation is a for profit corporation that receives substantial tax benefits not available to non-tribal corporations. Anyone wonder how they can build those beautiful facilities and put on those magnificent Christmas displays? Does the 'grant' money provide an advantage to the Jamestown Corp.? Where does the 'grant' money come from? Not from tax exempt tribal properties. Our local "LEADERS" need to push for changes to the land back movement and stand up for ALL the constituents who enjoy the roads, public safety, and economic opportunity of this county, and contribute equally. Empathy for past injustice should not be a source of injustice today. We cannot undo the past.

There are indigenous progeny of varying blood quantum purity, but none live the lives of their indigenous ancestry. There is much hypocrisy in claiming "time immemorial", while using and living the technology, transportation and sanitation provided by other cultures. If there is any example on this planet for a culture being assimilated by another it is who we call native, tribal or indigenous. All of those labels are debatable, but none of them justify special rights and privileges separate of all other citizens of this land. Here is an update from my ongoing crusade at DRMT. Last week the chair put forth a rule that public commenters could not repeat testimony they have given before. The rule is clearly meant for me. More often than not I am the only public commenter they have.
Its quite a "Democracy" when you are only allowed one objection one time and then you must never again talk about that issue.
I have threatened to make a swastikas sign and stand on the corner. I need a DRMT themed swastika sign. One comment on one issue.
