This article by Mr. Tozzer is right on. Our whole county and western Washington is run by Democrats and has been for many years. They make the laws usually NOT in the best interest of the Citizens, spend money recklessly, and make excuses to cover up their mistakes, then raise taxes of all kinds to cover up their mistakes. This is happening over and over, just look around? Get your heads out of the sand.
But these local tribes are poor sovereign nations with golf courses-gas stations-casino's-fancy hotels-restaurants-retail businesses how could they possibly survive without multi millions of free tax $$$ every year.
Jeff, they borrow from pictures and testimonies of other tribes that really are hurting to justify their need for money. Do you really think, in the state of Washington, if Trump was taken on a tour to show "misery" they would bring him to their campus? Hell no!
The fed govt is at fault 'misappropriation of public funds' for not making sure multi $$$ millionaires are not getting $$$ when it is not needed. This is what doge was setup for and should be looking at all the waste the lucrative tribes receive.
The last local election only had 33.02% voting. That is not a majority of 54,276 registered voters in Clallam county. We have many registered voters that are not voting. That is a problem.
this year, the USPS says that they won't guarantee that ballots mailed on election day will be postmarked -- so if they arrive with a later postmark, they will be tossed.
Its because the USPS is a dumpster fire -- consolidation of mail processing and centralized operations in fewer locations -- and, reduced air mail service (cost cutting). They are short-staffed, and new employees are not treated very well (long hours, and forced overtime). Plus the whole system was set up for letters, but now needs to retool for a huge huge surge in packages (hello Amazon) which has really been a massive problem. Plus, all the seasoned supervisors and management were forced into retirement (to save $$).
This is not suspicious. We have had a series of attacks on the postal service. 2022 The Postal Service Reform act, 2006, the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (requiring PREFUNDING for retiree health benefits -- something that no other company, government agency, etc., is required to do). Coupled with the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970 -- moved it from a cabinet-level department into an independent agency.
It's been a long road to where we are now, which is why mail-in ONLY voting is blatantly stupid.
Meanwhile, Canada, our neighbors to the north, have a full shut-down postal strike.
That's certainly a perspective that can't be ignored. We can slice and dice what that looks like, but at the end of the day it is all about getting enough people out to vote if they are in opposition to current local policies. I think that most votes are cast with the influence of national politics and that's unfortunate, from my perspective.
Jeff, easily the most honest, on point assessment of what's been happening in Clallam County (and most of WA State) for the past decade. It's like watching soil erosion. It starts off with a few pebbles and a little swath of dirt but as the torrent of abuses continue it gathers strength and speed. You are dangerously close to the cliff now.
We stand up and speak up when we see these leaders caving to their base all in the name of equity and compassion, when it's really greed and socialism. They yell "Anything Trump bad". We speak up as taxpayers and vote for common sense. All the while these leaders make shady closet deals stabbing us in the back. It's only going to get worse, you can actually feel it in the community we live in. I don't understand why there isn't a better voter turnout, is there really a minority of conservative values. How do people get so brainwashed? Same people that wear a mask while driving alone, are the same donating to these radical liberal socialist politicians.
True, but when elected by the people they should be speaking up for the people, not their own ideology. Randy Johnson says he's non-partisan, so he just sits there and nods like bobble head.
"The ostrich effect, also known as the ostrich problem, was originally coined by Dan Galai and Orly Sade. The name comes from the common (but false) legend that ostriches bury their heads in the sand to avoid danger. This effect is a cognitive bias where people tend to “bury their head in the sand” and avoid potentially negative but useful information, such as feedback on progress, to avoid psychological discomfort."
Great reminder of the actions by local officials that are undermining the best interest of county residents and of the efforts to use national politics as a distraction.
Jacob, this is exactly what the trollers, SUMAGUI and POWDERMONKEY do. Watch the threads. Once they hit someones button, they control and lead us away from Clallam County. This is a site for CLALLAM COUNTY WATCHDOG, not National politics. I expect as elections come around, they will come around. We can't let them use "divide and conquer" to get us arguing about National politics. We need to stick to solving Clallam County politics.
I would be careful to label them "trollers". They do make some points worth listening to. The problem comes when people just dismiss each other. The truth is always somewhere in the middle, and finding that middle ground is really what makes civilization work.
The great cultural anthropologist (Margaret Mead) made a very good point -- that what happens at the top trickles down to every corner of the culture. (Her study of introducing a steel axe to a stone axe culture was really fascinating: rough summary: give it to the chiefs and everyone wants one.)
WE have no local newspapers, we have no local media to speak of. We used to have differing opinions expressed. Now all we have a National Government that no one can agree with. Two political parties trying to inflame the masses for unknown ends, corporations pushing advertising to get our hard-earned dollars, and yet, we battle it out, down here in the trenches -- why? Because what happens in Clallam County is a reflection of the greater climate. We can't escape that.
But, if you take the premise that NEITHER side is wrong, and NEITHER side is right...all viewpoints (even ones you don't agree with) are valid -- then we have a community.
We are inundated with contrary messages. Pressed to chose a side. It's bullshit.
No thanks. I don't need easy answers, or calling people names. That isn't civilized. It isn't a community. Remember that old golden rule (no not the "he who has the gold makes the rules, the other one). Respect reciprocity.
I have no problem exchanging ideas with S-Gui, or Powder.....I find their comments interesting. Relax, they aren't Huns coming to burn our village.
Mimi, they got to you too, read the threads. I did not get any insights. It's a classic plan of attack. Good Guy, Bad Guy, switch rolls, suck you in like you are making a difference in what you say. Did you accomplish anything? You might have gotten some insight, IMO they lead us away from Clallam County issues. There is a planned pattern there.
No one "got to me". I simply like to hear all sides. And since the national news is all people get, I can see what the influence is. My focus is clearly Clallam County.
I have to presume they were anti-Trump fascism protesters!?
Ideologies, whatever the politics or agenda are ALWAYS dangerous and destructive in the end.
The ideologies driving the privileged communist class sometimes seem like good ideas in theory but they will ALWAYS be used to suppress, control, persecute, prosecute, imprison and murder...the ends justifying the means.
Fascist ideologies always create an extreme reaction/response and feed off cycles of insanity.
Anyone can be swept up in ideologies, as they appear to hold a higher moral ground and a common ground, such as 'saving the environment' or 'housing the homeless', but they always fail to provide what they promise and ideologies allow the agents to lie, cheat, steal and even kill to get their way...ends justifying means.
Thanks, I guess, to the fascism awareness team who perhaps thought they were slagging on the current federal administration but were pointing fingers at themselves and 'their' side.?🤓
I think they’re just anti-Trumpers. Because, if they were against local authoritarianism, why don’t they have signs calling out local policies and people?
I’m not in favor of what goes on locally, but I don’t trust the vague warnings of fascism when the only protestors I ever see out here are democrats against republicans.
because people aren't used to thinking critically --- we got out of the habit. Our local "newspaper" is trash -- and, we don't have any mechanism to discuss things like rational adults.
Jeff, you brilliantly used your talents to write the untold story about our County. With more and more people realizing the decline and power coup of our rights, we can fight back harder and stronger. The arrogant attitude of do as I say and not as I do by our local communists epitomizes why we must be aware at all times. Do other people ask what I have never understood: Why did Russia really fight Germany? In my opinion it wasn't to battle against fascism. Deep gratitude from my generation to your grandparents for their sacrifices during WWll. What a wonderful picture of them. They are so very proud of you, Jeff, for picking up the pen to battle against the insipid forces of oppression, intolerance, and fear. God bless our little corner of the earth.
They forgot the sign that says How do you spot a narcissist? They accuse others of the very things they are doing.
Thanks Jeff, for sharing your PTSD story. It’s interesting that your experience in Edmonton Alberta Canada circa 2000 was a harbinger of life in America today. Similarly, everyone sat around when Iryna was stabbed to death on the subway.
It is clear that the watchdogs of the County, and of the State, will not investigate the politcal manipulation of the information made available to the public in our County. Nor will the legal watchdogs stop the blatent conflicts of interest exhibited by our County commisioners...most likely fir personal gain. In places like New Orleans and Chicago the federal Department of Justice routinly looks at local governments and, when warranted, prosecutes wrong doers. Washington's one party politics keeps the Attorney General and the County Prosecutor from investigating their friends. With the change in Washington, DC, perhaps the Department of Justice would be willing to investgate the seeming conflicts if influence among our elected officals and the undue influence the 'tribe' seems to be having on the rest of the County with its campaign 'donations'?
NGOs, of which certain of our commissioners sit on the boards of, are abundant in this County. And NGOs are the latest money laundering device for our national.politics. Public disclosure devices make it very difficult to find out who is getting what without legal process, and it takes government legal outfits like attonrneys-general with the political will to follow money trails. And as near as i can tell this County and this State dont have an organization with that will... do we have a press that has that will.
The CC Kommissars and many of their acolytes who wear their mantle exhibit all the classic signs of fascists. Of course, they will turn around and scream fascist in your face. Sound familiar?
@jacobseegers “What is the best part of your day?” Cc watchdoger’s let’s break substack with our own answers to the JJ’s (my new nick name for Jeff & Jake) question:
The best part of my day is working out listening to CC Watchdog!
The couple that just checked out of our little Airbnb arrived as boyfriend and girlfriend and departed as fiances. They say they will be back for a future wedding anniversary.
Sure, I'll comment, Dr. Sarah. The best part of my day today is a quiet afternoon listening to CCWD and laughing along with Jeff, all the while thumbing thru recipe magazines to plan for Fall. And drinking my Americano from the Cracked Bean.
Jeff, bless you for posting your transcripts! I ALWAYS read your posts, but don’t always have time to listen. But I love love love the transcript. The bit about the dented can and the discount is GOLD.
I once heard a wise person answer his detractor, "Thank you for your opinion. I know it means a lot to you, and I might think more of it if you'd offered it better!"
These signs are like that to many of us.
The costumes are dark and somber, but is what's said; with all implied applications: truly sober?!
The photos of the sign holders complete the ideology. Dark, oppressive, intimidating, aggressive clothing to resemble Antifa proves what they are: anti-American, anti-semetic, pro-Communist, pro-Marxist soldiers. If you are a proud Stalinist, why hide behind a mask? It's easy to be a communist in a capitalist society. They should demonstrate in Venezuela alongside the common proletariat.
Lets just remember that adults like to play dress up. Look at larping. Look at halloween... we do it at every opportunity. These people dressing up, are playing a role. They could be wearing their furry costumes... meh.
The Commissioners really burned everybody bad on the 5 dollar parcel fee. On September 4,2025, they decided to vote on the resolution on September 11, 2025 after it was re-edited.. The ECB board for Puget Sound Partnership had not met since August of 2025. NODC represents SERN and NODC at the EDC. Their next meeting was September 10, 2025...the day before the Commissioners vote on September 11,2025. The August 2025 EDC meeting laid out the process for their land use and shoreline master plan "suggestions" which was not final until November 4, 2025.
What this means is Jeff Mark Ozias strait up lied about the GMA being the reason for deciding to vote for the 5 dollar parcel fee. The new GMA won't even be finalized until after EDC goes over all the local versions...and corrects them. You can forget about the old GMA being used to support the 5 dollar parcel fee, because it was no longer good enough "resiliency" wises, which was why the update they are working on was needed in the first place. So while the current update still sat on Emery's desk, way before it was approved by the EDC ON November 4, 2025, and implemented after that, Ozias is claiming he is basing his decision on the comp plan... before it was finalized.
That means either he skipped my comments, and other and any APA challenges to the phony one Bruce Emery is working on, or he used the current one that apparently doesn't have enough "resiliency" components to it.
Its bad or worse. Given Mr. Ozias' conduct and the conduct of his bug eyed hall monitor..its bad and worse.

Its run by a "consortium" of international and tribal members from SERN and NODC. There really isn't such a thing as local democrat anymore.
They are unregistered international agents illegally spending federal grant monies..
Sumgui is part of the "consortium."
But these local tribes are poor sovereign nations with golf courses-gas stations-casino's-fancy hotels-restaurants-retail businesses how could they possibly survive without multi millions of free tax $$$ every year.

Not Evergreen campus.
Pot stores.
Yeah, but what gets me is they don't have to have purple hair and fish net leggings to get a government job.
Thank you John, "Sumgui is part of the "consortium."
If it is run by democrats, would that mean the majority of voters are voting for democrats and that the will of the majority is served?
The last local election only had 33.02% voting. That is not a majority of 54,276 registered voters in Clallam county. We have many registered voters that are not voting. That is a problem.
this year, the USPS says that they won't guarantee that ballots mailed on election day will be postmarked -- so if they arrive with a later postmark, they will be tossed.

Not necessarily. Why do we receive paper mail in a metal box? It makes zero sense to me. If our electronic systems fail so will the paper exchange.
It IS stupid.
That's certainly a perspective that can't be ignored. Great analogy, Teri.
I will vote again for this intro. Glad to stand along with the thousands of CC Watchdogs, not alone now. 🤝
Wow! A picture is worth a thousand word. Need I say more?
Yes. why is it that I hadn't read of this before?
SUPPRESSION OF NEWS - THIS IS FASCISM
We stand up and speak up when we see these leaders caving to their base all in the name of equity and compassion, when it's really greed and socialism. They yell "Anything Trump bad". They go along to get along. That's fearmongering at its best. You know "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil".
True, but when elected by the people they should be speaking up for the people, not their own ideology. Randy Johnson says he's non-partisan, so he just sits there and nods like bobble head.

That's why most of the older politicians just want to be a seat warmer, what do they have to lose.
It's a simple fact......conservatives are lazy and fearful of rocking the boat!
I don’t know that I’m lazy, but I have a job that demands most of my waking hours M-F.
They are lazy when it comes to voting.
See 'Ostrich Effect' above. You're actually mostly right.
Yes. Which reminds me of this whole, label yourself non-partisan voting routine.
The national platform locally for the Clallam GOP is a losing proposition, imo.
Hopefully you can share that sentiment directly with them at one of their meetings 👍
Great reminder of the actions by local officials that are undermining the best interest of county residents and of the efforts to use national politics as a distraction.
This is it exactly. I'm not interested in a national debate, I'm interested in Clallam County.
100%

I actually gain some insight with their comments.
