The following email has been sent to: "French, Mike" <Mike.French@ClallamCountyWA.gov>, "Ozias, Mark" <Mark.Ozias@ClallamCountyWA.gov>, "Johnson, Randy" <Randy.Johnson@ClallamCountyWA.gov>, "Mielke, Todd" <Todd.Mielke@ClallamCountyWA.gov>, "Gores, Loni" <loni.gores@clallamcountywa.gov>

Dear Commissioners and Administrator Mielke,

Thank you for explaining the proclamation process yesterday. I request that the enclosed proclamation be placed on next month’s agenda and read alongside the annual proclamation titled “Indigenous People’s Day in Order to Promote Tolerance, Understanding, and Friendship and to Combat the Prejudice and Discrimination Stemming From Colonization.”

I also did not receive an answer to my question yesterday. If proclamations are issued because a party asks the Board of Commissioners to issue them, which party requests the annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day proclamation?

Thank you for your time and for placing this request on the record.

Jeff Tozzer

----------------

Proposed proclamation:

WHEREAS, the residents of Clallam County—of every background and ancestry—work, pay taxes, and sustain the government that serves them; and

WHEREAS, history shows that no culture or nation is without conflict or harm, and that the story of humanity is one of migration, struggle, and survival, not moral perfection; and

WHEREAS, people first arrived on this continent by migration thousands of years ago, long before modern borders existed, and all who live here today share the same earth and the same duty to treat one another with respect; and

WHEREAS, using history as a tool to divide present-day citizens or to assign inherited guilt risks deepening resentment rather than healing it; and

WHEREAS, working families in Clallam County already shoulder heavy burdens—rising costs, limited opportunities, and repeated calls to raise their own property taxes—while county funds often go to symbolic or politically fashionable projects instead of core needs such as infrastructure, public safety, and housing people can actually afford; and

WHEREAS, proclamations that emphasize virtue-signaling rather than measurable improvement distract from accountability and good government; and

WHEREAS, public officials are elected to represent all citizens equally, not to advance the interests of select organizations or donors; and

WHEREAS, lasting progress comes not from guilt or grievance, but from ensuring that every resident—regardless of ancestry—has the same chance to succeed through effort, education, and enterprise;

NOW, THEREFORE, we, the citizens of Clallam County, proclaim that unity, fairness, and shared responsibility are the foundation of a healthy community.

We call on our elected leaders to pursue fiscal responsibility, transparency, and equal respect for all taxpayers; to focus on opportunity rather than division; and to remember that the strength of this county lies not in rewriting the past, but in building a fair future together.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we dedicate this day to the residents of Clallam County—those who keep its lights on, its roads repaired, and its spirit alive.

Good morning Jeff, I can't wait for them to consider your proclamation. You have a long line of followers chamling at the hit for fairness in our beloved county.

Ohh… don't hold your breath waiting on them to put it in the agenda. We need you around for balance around here.

Jennifer's avatar

Jeff, I received an answer (sort of) when I asked why you don't get responses. My response time to my email was only a few days. You'll have to wait under their time immemorial policy for your response. All people get a response, but some people get more response LOL

Dear Loni Gores, Please log this correspondence into the public record and forward it to Commissioners French, Johnson, and Ozias for their review.

I am writing regarding response letters. Dr Sarah wrote to the County Commission in August raising concerns regarding the draft Title 20 Code Compliance amendments reviewed during the August 19, 2026, Planning Commission meeting. She received a response from Mark Ozias and Mike French. Mike French’s reply was commendable in that it was thorough.

My question is regarding why aren’t some letters getting responses, or at least acknowledgments? I’m sure you are aware of Jeff Tozzer of Clallam County Watchdog. He too, has written his legitimate concerns, but has not gotten a respectful response or acknowledgment to his letters as you gave to Dr Sarah. Is there a policy about responding to people?

RESPONSE FROM Mark Ozias

Thank you for writing.  When email correspondence comes in via our Clerk, it is acknowledged and may engender a response from one or more of the individual Commissioners, and sometimes from the County Administrator.

When someone emails a Commissioner directly, it may or may not receive a response.  Depending on the message, I may respond directly, and/or I may forward the communication along to someone else who is in a better position to provide information.  Or, depending on the situation, I may not respond at all.  But I do take all that I hear from county residents into consideration when working with the other Commissioners and elected officials to make decisions.

Sincerely,

Mark Ozias

Clallam County Commissioner

Dr. Sarah advised going thru the Form Center for Requests and Complaints rather than directly emailing the person. I do both because sometimes (yes, plural) my letters routed thru Form Center have been lost in cyber space. Probably on my part, but they still didn't get sent. So, Ozias just does what he wants and decides who gets an audience with his Highness. Well, at least you got a response, Jennifer. But are you satisfied?

Jennifer's avatar

Denise, my letter was wayyy less important to respond to than Jeff's. We would much rather read responses to his legitimate inquiries. Maybe they are answered on the less important matters and up than the other way around.

I can't get no satisfaction, no, no, no

Denise Lapio's avatar

You are important, Jennifer, and all of your letters and comments are important. Jeff is awesome and so are you.

Steve O.'s avatar

I never received any satisfaction so I stopped any attempt to deserve it.

jedjennings50's avatar

Mark I know you won’t answer this but how come you let all the consruction projects be awarded to outside CC contractors and lose the economic resources we are paying for? I would be honored to sit with you to help aleviate this from happening. Waiting! Jed

I really love the enthusiastic spirit expressed in Jennifer's sardonic message.

It’s curious, why the county website doesn’t have the information on it regarding the public comment from a gentleman who suggested our commissioners pair Harm reduction model with something similar to Snohomish accountability model. The Commissioners all seemed to agree with the public commenter, and said they have supported this type of enforcement through OPNET and other law enforcement strategies such as social workers and detox centers, SO where on the Clallam County website does it lay out the accountability model they say they support????

The tribes story about saving up money and buying 210 acres, does not make sense. The treaty had 44,000 acres, set aside, equipped with 20 years of live-in help, from teachers, blacksmiths, farmers, and a doctor, to help them become civilized and part of society. That is printed in their treaty.

They promised to move, stop killing people and release slaves they stole from other tribes, after massacres in the middle of the night. The treaty was to restore peace and the separation of tribes. It had nothing to do with the settlers, does it mention where the settlers were allowed to live? Allowed to fish? Everywhere but on their reservation and the Indians were allowed to fish in the areas mapped, in common with all citizens.

But they didn’t agree to the treaty and stayed put. They claim they were forced out of dungeness, their ancestral land, and moved to the spit? Why weren’t they on the land set aside for them? They claim that 20 years after the treaty, they bought land from the white man and went to sequim schools?

We’re supposed to believe they were polite and communicated with the white man they hated and bought land that belonged to them in first place? Even thought they weren’t taught English? The other Skallam tribe has the same exact story.

I did some research on Ron Allen’s ancestors, his ggggreat grandfather from the early 1800’s was William Allen from NY. He married Sallie from British Columbia. She already had a daughter named Lucy. How can Ron claim to be from this area for the last, I don’t, before time? It’s a shame and he should be ashamed. Now they have complete control over all land, air and water?

Jennifer's avatar

Jenny Tolls, Unfortunately your research and history doesn't go hand in hand with JST.'s research and history. They have a library and books on their opulent campus, to prove it, (funded off the backs of taxpayers) If lies are repeated enough, they becomes true and when these lies are taught in our schools, they become fact.

I've noticed the uptick in unhinged baseless outrage regarding Jake. When pushed to correlate the outrage to county policies and his positions, crickets. I'm voting for Jake Seegers.

For anyone who missed it, the only person in the Commissioners room yesterday during the 911 proclamation who wasn't looking at Commissioner Johnson and paying attention was... Mike French. Very disappointed at his disrespect during the reading.

Jamestown S’Klallam, Port Gamble S’Klallam, and Lower Elwha are fighting it out in a court room brought to them by... colonization? The Chimacum are weeping.

Thanks for calling out that Commissioners Johnson and Ozias have apologized where appropriate. I'd like to believe French will follow, but he has to prove himself in that realm.

As for pay by mile the only way the government will tolerate is a transponder as you indicated. What I can't understand is that if Flock cameras upset the citizens and politicians because of immigration enforcement actions how in the world would a transponder not also be of concern?

The 9/11 proclamation was added to the agenda as a late item following correspondence from Denise Lapio to the Commissioners over the weekend. Her public tribute was exemplary and sincere, markedly contrasting with the remarks provided by Randy Johnson.

The Commissioners issued a proclamation recognizing National Diaper Need Awareness Week. Commissioner Ozias read the document into the record, though no representatives were present to accept it. I can't believe these three can even show their their faces. They are all pathetic.

Denise Lapio, your involvement is exemplary, thank you Reindeer for this information

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER VS UNHOUSED?

Churchhill, “The person in question is a REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER. What concerns would he bring to the office of Clallam County Commissioner? Would he judge fairly the needs and interest of the UNHOUSED, the endangered species, our children’s future?”

Churchhill’s paragraph quoted above is a oxymoron which is a combination of contradictory or incongruous words. In other words, a DEVELOPER is a person or company that makes money from buying land, building new houses, offices, etc. The UNHOUSED can’t be housed (in quantity) unless there is some kind of developer.

COLONIAL MENTALITY VS NATIVE MENTALITY

Churchill, “In the case of certain political signs it is a drive to build. Where, and for whom would be the question I would raise, and at what expense? Our national park and forest or tribal land?...He may see himself as a revolutionary but he is part of the same old colonial mentality.”

Churchills statement above does not fit in a one to one comparison according to definition but is based on a much abused interpretation of treaty rights and overreach of those rights. Actually, who IS trying to take OUR national parks and forest? Who IS being exploited economically? So, the tables have turned and the ‘colonist’ have the right to land back because JST has become the definition of colonialism. IMO it is time for this sovereign nation to pay in tariffs what we don’t get back in taxes.

COLONIALISM: is the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically.

LAND BACK MOVEMENT which advocates for a transfer of decision-making power over land to Indigenous communities which includes land control of county land via transfer of trust land to tax free native land.

Timothy Weller's avatar

DEVELOPER: Peninsula Behavioral Health, JKT, "activists", Clallam County Commissioners, et al. When one relinquishes rights and responsibilities to government, those rights and responsibilities are gone, forever. We are at a very precarious place, with "autopen" being used by local government(s) to circumvent a vote of the People. "We allow the people to vote..."

Jennifer's avatar

Who has the power to authorize a tariff?

In the U.S., Congress has the power to set tariffs. However, under specific laws, the president can also impose tariffs, particularly in cases involving national security or in economic emergencies.

Tariffs are typically imposed for protection or revenue purposes. A protective tariff increases the price of imported goods relative to domestic goods, encouraging consumers to buy from local producers, who are thus “protected” from foreign competition. A revenue tariff, on the other hand, is mainly used to generate money for the government.

JJW's avatar

I may have missed it, but do not remember anyone concerned about conflict of interest when the owner of a private business at the local airport was appointed to the port commission.

Clallamity Jen's avatar

That was in a Salsa article, and the article included a statement from Kelly Kidwell that he would recuse himself when needed. People are welcome to pay attention to port proceedings to make sure that happens.

The port commissioners who appointed him knew of the conflict. Try not to find a conflict of interest in anyone out here serving in government or on boards. A conflict of interest is not the issue; the issue is not disclosing it or recusing when necessary.

Jennifer's avatar

JJW, Jeff sees a need to shed some light on the innerworkings of local government and to hold county leaders accountable. I do not know if this topic was covered or if it was even let known by the local news. I'm curious.

Solutions. As I read the various on-line comments I wonder who will be able to make the changes necessary to fix all (some)?) of these problems? Since we writers are NOT in charge, we are dependent on our elected officials, and their appointed staffs. Are they doing something to improve our community?

Start with the obvious. Drugs. (Illegal drugs.) Is there anyone out there who believes our elected officials have any solutions that fix our problems? Is it hard to understand that giving free drugs (and related equipment) to addicted people will NOT solve the drug problem. Instead we, citizens, authorize our elected officials to build housing for addicts that require NO personal responsibility. We are told the LAW requires amenities such as pet cleaning stations, fancy equipment (unaffordable to many working folks), and housing for people who are not even prior residents of our county. We, citizens, approve of illegal camp grounds where the residents have no limits on the laws they are violating. (Violence, environmental damages, illegal activity.) What success has the Meth Clinic had in successfully getting patients off the dependency to drugs? And the list goes on.

Another item. Code enforcement. How about law enforcement? Just because a person does not have assets to pay fines should not excuse them from some form of action that results in either compliance or law enforcement. No one should be above the law. (I read that somewhere.) We citizens should never accept the operation of a drug house. Encouraging drug sales harms more than the addict. (Harm Reduction?)

Before I can approve of increasing code enforcement I prefer law enforcement. Of course we need Code Enforcement, but the emphasis should be on problem solutions not just punishment. It is called negotiation.

I wish someone could describe what actions are being successful in attracting new businesses, more investment, new skilled workers, and residents committed to helping improve our community instead of importing just another problem. Unfilled promises don’t count. Is it wrong to ask for, and receive, accountability? Are we voters getting value from the handsome government salaries?

The other actions under question are the rarely explained support for our local tribe. How much income is coming to the tribe that previously was earned by Non-Tribal activities? How much of this income is derived from Federal funding? I don’t believe the tribe is underfunded. What is the reasoning behind the favoritism for a Sovereign Nation in lieu of citizens of the United States. There is a difference between joint activity and ownership.

While I am complaining I wonder what has been happening with our school children. Are their learning scores improving? Are more county students heading for advanced education? Has the introduction of political education (?) improved our students knowledge and acceptance into the job market? Can our children read and write?

So, instead of hearing about all our problems can we read about creative solutions? I am sure there are solutions for many of our problems. Unfortunately, there is no cure for stupid. (Democrat Socialist Party.)

jedjennings50's avatar

Sheldon you are right on. The leftists that write into CCWD DONT ever deal with solutions. I have asked them all and the only answers I have received is pay taxes and don’t want to boast is what they are doing to help this CC become a better place to reside. With that as a solution we are in big trouble if we keep electing these current politicians. I am not sure if we can win the battle but CCWD and you are asking the right ?s. Thanks!

About proclamations, the county should take a tip from the City of Sequim who makes it easy for people to submit proclamation requests: https://www.sequimwa.gov/234/Proclamation-Requests

That’s nice county employees put their time into something like diaper awareness for moms (because dads don’t change diapers?), but does the proclamation name those employees as a group of private citizens? Like when Sequim did a proclamation for the Daughters of the Revolution, they were listed and it was presented to them. If county employees are using their county status to get proclamations instead of approaching it as private citizens, that’s where I take issue.

Denise Lapio's avatar

So many great snippets today, Jeff! And so the craziness still continues. I know that one day you'll be able to write and podcast about better progress in CC, but for now, we have to clean up and clear out the debris caused by entitlement. Waiting to get your questions answered by the 3 hamsters is like waiting to see when pigs fly. I admire your hope that one day they will awake from their Kool-aid coma and do their jobs. I don't think they ignore your questions out of rudeness and dismissiveness, instead, I believe they do it out of fear. Fear is a mortal danger to the physical and spiritual body. The only way to conquer a fear is with truth, which then becomes the remedy for health and happiness. And you, Jeff, have a lot of courage.

Eric Fehrmann's avatar

Might the next proclamation be for "senior diapers"?

Jennifer's avatar

Eric, I'll go for that LOL

Someone Someone's avatar

I've said it before and I'll say it until they speak up: When is the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe going to speak up about the desecration and contamination of their "ancestral lands" that we have to acknowledge every time we turn around in Port Angeles? The City of PA turns a blind eye to -- essentially encouraging -- homeless drug addict encampments in the Tumwater tract and elsewhere but the tribe remains silent. Is that because tribal member LaTrisha Suggs sits on the city council, along with other friends of the tribe?

Susie Blake's avatar

When? Probably as soon as they fill the gaping hole they created in downtown PA

m b's avatar

The hole is a finger salute, a monument of the tribes present contempt. Proof of their ability to destroy in kind what they now claim others did to their way of life. They might never fill it.

Someone Someone's avatar

Amen! I would bet on it becoming a parking lot or homeless encampment site with the blessing of LEKT's friends on the PA City Council.

jedjennings50's avatar

I fail to see the problem even if Jake was a real estate developer. I don’t see these public officials doing anything to develop anything but homeless housing on our nickel. It’s almost like they are jealous of his ideas and plan. They sit around robbing CC and cry when someone doesn’t fall in line with their theft. When did it become bad to develop private property? The Tribe does and nobody in the political arena cries, in fact they promote it.

The real question is WHAT is really going on to create the "homeless" problem in the first place? I am old enough to "Remember America". There were a few hobos riding around, voluntarily enjoying a chosen life free from normal structure and responsibility. But then came the crash of 2008 which the country never recovered from. I remembered hearing about a 2 mile long homeless encampment along the banks of the Sacramento river in California. Having hundreds of thousands...millions... of desperate, drug addicted, human beings in America is NOT NORMAL.

Jennifer's avatar

Robert J homelessness is also a byproduct of schools. We can't make anyone accountable for bad behavior, ignorance or offend them for any reason. Clallam County students are subject to the same lower standards as Oregon. It's NOT NORMAL.

Oregon again says students don’t need to prove mastery of reading, writing or math to graduate, citing harm to students of color

https://www.oregonlive.com/education/2023/10/oregon-again-says-students-dont-need-to-prove-mastery-of-reading-writing-or-math-to-graduate-citing-harm-to-students-of-color.html

In 2021 a friend of mine in Jefferson county, near Port Hadlock, bought a really nice 1000 square foot double wide, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, with extra insulation for 85,000. Then they had it installed on a rented property that charged 400 a month. The total cost was about 110,000 dollars to have a well made, good looking home to move into. I heard that Jefferson county, I believe it was, spent 500,000 on some BS consultant to just present possibilities for "affordable housing". For that same amount of money, 500 beautiful, well made homes could have been built and been quite affordable. A recent internet search showed smaller single wides for sale starting at about 43,000 dollars. In other states. SO....WHAT is the problem here?

Jennifer's avatar

Robert J, when bought by a homeowner the price is the true value and the owner profits. When run or managed by an NGO or government program a pyramid of people profit starting with consultants. I don't imagine your friend had to have a consultant, he had what is missing. Common Sense.

Thank you Jennifer and MK: from your descriptions, it sounds just like criminal rackateering, shaking down and literally stealing from the tax payer and passing it on to layer upon layer of bureaurcrats while the people who it was supposed to help get almost nothing. In fact, that is a description of FRAUD. FRAUD. A criminal act of stealing...even IF it supposedly is "legal" under some complicated scheme. It's STILL STEALING.

jedjennings50's avatar

The PAHA project that just bid came in at around $6m. That is 250k per apartment if my math is correct. Still double the price if it was a private sector project. The leaders of this public rip off are not accountable for our tax $. This project went to a GC in Redmond WA. We have 3 or 4

GC contracters here locally that should have been used. Schools ($250m) housing a JPSB all have sent our tax $ to King and Pierce Co. we need to keep this money local for our economy. When do we wake up. CANT wait for the next levy crying for my money.

Herb Cook's avatar

Mr. Jennings: You mention "3 or 4 GC contractors here locally that should have been used." Did any of those contractors submit the lowest bid on the PAHA project?

jedjennings50's avatar

No the low contractor was about 750k lower than all other bids. It is so poorly engineered he will have lots of change orders. It will be interesting to see what the end price is. The EC doing the job is local on this project.

Excellent Watchdog edition, Patriot Jeff Tozzer~!

I can clearly see that this Lauren Churchill Individual has a DEEPLY twisted and fatally flawed understanding of the very well-defined term "common sense"! This may actually be a glaring clue as to why these communists are SO tragically mentally deraigned. Lauren Chyrchill makes the absolutely wildly insane claim with regard to the term common sense; "In modern usage, it implies that everyone should be able to go along with whatever the person is promoting". Not even close! I have to wonder what planet that Lauren Churchill comes from, or is he/she/them/they/God only know what, just another living condemnation of the dramatically failed public school system? I am sure that most folks here on The Watchdog and in the general population of America (and probably the entire world) are well aware that these communists historically regularly use, and are highly susceptible to, very simple Brainwashing methods, that trick the weak-minded low Intelligence crowd into believing absolutely insane things as somehow supposedly "making sense" in their otherwise vacuous minds. This is NOT "common sense" but rather the opposite, it is mentally ill "group think" where the least Intelligent crowd finds a common bond in "stupid"~! Much like misery, stupid LOVES company~!!! HA~! Comrades unite in their world of the miserable insane~! The term "common sense" STRICTLY refers to relatively simple concepts that all normal healthy reasonable Individuals of at least very basic functional Intelligence can agree upon without any undue influence or outside pressure! It has nothing to do with "a crowd of fools who may agree on anything that foolishly defies logic & reason" as these communists are SO "commonly" prone to do on most if not all subjects~! Is this a hard concept for you to understand Lauren Churchill??? For example, I am sure that most Americans would agree on any simple subject, if they had an understanding of the truth involving that subject, which would be an example of a "common sense" understanding. For this same reason, ironically, most Americans understand that "communism" is the exact opposite system from our beloved "American Republic", and they do reject the complete forfeiture of Individual freedom and all of their rights, to total enslavement & domination of the Individual that communism necessarily demands & requires~! It is also possible that within a MASSIVE population, there may ONLY be one Individual who possess a "common sense" view on a particular subject, which would be very clear evidence that the rest of that MASSIVE population was terribly ignorant and/or misinformed on that subject. Lauren Churchill is very obviously terribly mentally confused about the term and concept of "common sense", very likely because he/she/them/they/God only know what, does not understand the basic concept of "Truth"~! Common sense equals TRUTH~! Could it be possible that Lauren Churchill is trying to pull a fast one by twisting the truth~? Ha! Yes, Lauren Churchill, "we" are onto your communistic "word craft" double speak and confuse & baffle linguistic witchcraft~! Only a lunatic would want more of Mike French so-called "leadership" that has dramatically failed every single day of his miserable presence as a Clallam County Commissioner~! We here will be supporting Jake Seegers as long as he proves himself worthy, and after knowing him for the past couple of years I expect that he will be a FAR superior Commissioner that any of the current three stooges in our county government~!

Don’t fear the family home. Fear the fabrication. When you read the latest Watchdog piece, you can practically hear the rusty gears grinding in his head. He wants the article to feel like a cold, sober ledger of civic misdeeds. Instead, it reads like a sunbaked crime caper where the local crackpot mistakes his own personal indigestion for a grand government conspiracy.

Jeff and his political golden boy, Jake Seegers, love to hawk a mystical, magical potion called “Common Sense.” But stripped of its populist glitter, their brand of common sense is neither common nor sensible. It is a cynical, weaponized fantasy. A carnival side-show where complex public administration gets boiled down to pure outrage.

Consider the hits on their ledger of accusations: The $500,000 "Homeless Addict" castle. Jeff screeches about subsidized housing costs at Northview, claiming public money is spent strictly for "addicts and criminals." In reality, public housing stacks state building codes, ADA accessibility, prevailing wage rules, and long-term affordability covenants. Private developers don't build deeply affordable housing for fixed-income seniors because there is no profit in it. Jeff's "common sense" alternative…fewer rules and good vibes. That isn't a housing plan; it's a bumper sticker. And a bad one at that.

The "Humble builder" myth. Jeff treats Jake’s campaign brochure as Holy Writ, painting him as a simple, dirt-under-the-fingernails everyman with "two primitive parcels" and a hammer. It’s a touching, cinematic image. Right up until you realize it’s pure, calculated candidate branding. Repeating a political rookie’s self-promotion as verified public record isn't journalism and it isn’t honest. it's campaign laundering.

And of course, Jeff drags out Towne Road yet again, like a man who peaked in high school reliving his glory days. Seriously. Treating a multi-agency, multi-year infrastructure headache as proof of institutional incompetence. Conveniently always absent is Jeff’s own proximity to the project. The personal irritation that sparked his entire "Watchdog" villain-origin story. Anyone who thinks Army Corps regulations, FEMA floodplain rules, and shifting federal grant windows can be hand-waved away with "common sense" has clearly never managed anything more complex than a lemonade stand.

Jeff’s obsession with performative outrage reaches peak theatricality in his play-by-play of county proclamations. He tries to transform a routine administrative reading for Diaper Need Awareness Week into a grand moral failing because it shared space with a 9/11 anniversary recognition. Local government is entirely capable of honoring national history while simultaneously addressing basic human needs like infant hygiene. Manufacturing a fake culture-war scandal out of routine meeting logistics isn't civic oversight. It's desperate content creation.

Continuously framing basic hygiene vouchers and harm reduction as "giving out clean crack pipes instead of recovery" is medical nonsense. Harm reduction isn't the alternative to treatment; it's the tourniquet that keeps people alive until treatment is possible. Denying public health tools without offering operational alternatives isn't a safety strategy. It's intentional neglect wrapped in self-righteousness.

Comparing a single-family home permit to a 68,000-acre timber and carbon-offset deal between EFM and Meta is peak absurdity. The Meta transaction keeps working timberlands intact and protected from sprawling subdivision. Equating it to a backyard build is an intentional, oversized shadow cast to make a routine home look like a victim of cosmic tyranny.

His take on election administration and regional partnerships follows the same cynical pattern. Attacking the county for resisting the federal SAVE Act ignores the basic mechanics of voting. Forcing local election staff to re-verify citizenship papers for fifty-nine thousand voters right before an election creates a logistical nightmare that threatens to disenfranchise rural residents, military members, and seniors who don't carry original birth certificates in their back pockets. Pair that with his constant fearmongering over tribal stewardship, and his agenda becomes clear. Dismissing tribal partnerships that bring millions in federal grant dollars into local roads and restoration projects isn't protecting local control. It's handing away the county's financial leverage just to feed a comment section built on conspiracy theories and tribal grievance.

In the end, Jeff asks his readers if they’re better off and if they’ll vote like it. A more honest question is whether his audience is better informed or simply better entertained. Because outrage makes for a noisy podcast, but evidence-based policy is what actually keeps a county from going broke.
