One of our citizens has a backround fighting for and defending our Constitutional rights. One of our citizens fought for that right and won. One of our citizens worked WITH county government presenting facts that were previously misinterpreted by the county government. The misinterpretation limited rights of important privacy protection. One of our citizens does not use backdoor tactics but rather a respectful, transparent and knowledgeable approach. One of our citizens believes:
1) When citizens engage respectfully and knowledgeably, officials have an opportunity to reconsider.
2) Oversight does not belong solely to boards, staff, or agencies. It belongs to informed citizens willing to stand up for their rights.
3) If we do not question authority, authority expands.
4) If we do not defend our rights, they erode.
5) If we do not engage, we surrender representation.
6) Because this paradise is worth protecting — and so are the rights, safety, and quality of life of the people who call it home — both now and in the future.

Under Port Angeles Municipal Code (PAMC) Section 12.04.080, it is a criminal misdemeanor--punishable by a $500 fine and 30 days in jail--to camp in any city park, city facility, or city-owned property without prior written permission from the Parks and Recreation Director. Watchdog should invite the Port Angeles Chief of Police to explain why his officers do not enforce that ordinance.
A second reply. If I, a law breaker, realize I can do most anything without punishment, why change my habits? Without any penalties I can do as I choose, avoid any cost to me, and ignore the minor inquiries from law enforcement or other government officials. If I can get free drugs, a chance at free housing, and benefits I could not afford, why turn down the offer? If our police were taking photos, making verbal requests, having their presence known, regularly, there may be a motivation to leave the location. The goal, from a government point of view, is to enforce the law. If "encouraging" the lawless to move elsewhere we have a temporary solution, but it lets others know someone is watching. The point is to stop making our community attractive to law breakers.
Maybe we should ignore all legal violations if the person breaking the law has no money. There are liens, fines (even if uncollected), records of law breaking, etc. The point here is to record the names of those who break the law. Are there repeat offenses that show harmful, repetitive violations? How many speeding tickets are too many?

Mike. Freedom of speech is one of our Constitutional rights, but I am concerned that our young people are not being taught about what these rights mean or provide to all of us. The lemmings, I call them, are willing to dive over the cliff, because they do NOT understand our wonderful Constitution, and the balance of our representative political system.
As for a petition, I am a pessimist. When we have millions who support a new “socialist” (communist) government in New York City, Minneapolis, and Seattle we are not teaching our young the dangers of these new election results. I think this is intentional and pursued by those intending to divide our country and weaken our country and intentionally make us vulnerable to our enemies. I find fault with those too busy, or apathetic, to be involved with their children’s education. I can’t imagine allowing the schools, with some parent’s approval, to counsel permanent alterations of the birth design and make them a political experiment. These same parents have allowed the removal of teachings from our ancestors of World History, American History, State Histories, and the discussions back then to arrive at this wonderful example of leadership. Too many of our citizens cannot even read.
I still have the question about our churches, Christian Churches mainly, not defending our Constitution and way of government. I am hostile regarding our muslim citizens who, world wide, are attacking and harmful to millions who disagree with them. Are all the muslims unaware of the harm they have done to their own families and children with this legacy of hate?
As far as the ongoing injury from our Covid disease I have an acquaintance whose wife is a victim of Covid. She is called a “Long Hauler” and has a continuing battle with the results of Covid. I think this condition is the result of the mandated inoculations.
I return to the subject of personal responsibility. How can we allow our citizenry to ignore our elections? The right, and obligation, of voting should be a constant subject for our children. I believe we are neglectful in allowing mail-in voting. We should return to in-person elections being decided on the eve of the election, not days later.
While on the subject of personal responsibility what happened to the concept of honorable work? Instead of teaching dependency on government hand outs, minimize this hand out mentality and return to the concept of earning what you have and being accountable for your own well being. There is room for charity, but not to enable so many.
In summary, our country is in danger. We citizens have accepted the use of dangerous drugs, accepted the crimes that go with this dependency, and continue to enable the addict with a failure to implement cures that erase that dependency. How many deaths are permissible?

Everything that you said here has great merit! Due to the need-to-know professions of both of my parents, I was shaken awake at a very early age and "POOF" a Constitutionalist was born! Ha! My father was an elite PhD of History who taught The History of Western Civilization at a major University for decades, and I assure you that the multi-generational dumbing down of Americans is VERY real and definitely Intentional all the way up to high school and even in the colleges. Also, I disagree with your characterization of Phyllis as far left. She regularly attends the WEBPA meetings and we get to speak open and frank with her all the time. She got a substantial amount of District 3 votes because she is quite conservative in many ways. For example, she would absolutely agree with you about the programs meant to subsidize only certain portions of the population's PUD bill. I have heard her say several times that the most effective way to ensure people can afford to pay their bills is to keep the base rate low for every household. She is against increasing the fees to pay for special programs. I would encourage you to reach out to her and chat about any questions you may have, she is very approachable and responsive.

Because they can’t pay the fine and they would be out of custody in 5 minutes. It starts with the prosecutor doing his job.

I am asking a history question. Did our ancestors preach, in their churches, resistance to the King of England in the 1770's? Did our forefathers encourage revolution against British rule? Did our lessons not repeat the message of taking up arms against injustice? When did it become forbidden to mention political malfeasance in our churches? Mike. Freedom of speech is one of our Constitutional rights, but I am concerned that our young people are not being taught about what these rights mean or provide to all of us. The lemmings, I call them, are willing to dive over the cliff, because they do NOT understand our wonderful Constitution, and the balance of our representative political system.
As for a petition, I am a pessimist. When we have millions who support a new “socialist” (communist) government in New York City, Minneapolis, and Seattle we are not teaching our young the dangers of these new election results. I think this is intentional and pursued by those intending to divide our country and weaken our country and intentionally make us vulnerable to our enemies. I find fault with those too busy, or apathetic, to be involved with their children’s education. I can’t imagine allowing the schools, with some parent’s approval, to counsel permanent alterations of the birth design and make them a political experiment. These same parents have allowed the removal of teachings from our ancestors of World History, American History, State Histories, and the discussions back then to arrive at this wonderful example of leadership. Too many of our citizens cannot even read.
I still have the question about our churches, Christian Churches mainly, not defending our Constitution and way of government. I am hostile regarding our muslim citizens who, world wide, are attacking and harmful to millions who disagree with them. Are all the muslims unaware of the harm they have done to their own families and children with this legacy of hate?
As far as the ongoing injury from our Covid disease I have an acquaintance whose wife is a victim of Covid. She is called a “Long Hauler” and has a continuing battle with the results of Covid. I think this condition is the result of the mandated inoculations.
I return to the subject of personal responsibility. How can we allow our citizenry to ignore our elections? The right, and obligation, of voting should be a constant subject for our children. I believe we are neglectful in allowing mail-in voting. We should return to in-person elections being decided on the eve of the election, not days later.
While on the subject of personal responsibility what happened to the concept of honorable work? Instead of teaching dependency on government hand outs, minimize this hand out mentality and return to the concept of earning what you have and being accountable for your own well being. There is room for charity, but not to enable so many.
In summary, our country is in danger. We citizens have accepted the use of dangerous drugs, accepted the crimes that go with this dependency, and continue to enable the addict with a failure to implement cures that erase that dependency. How many deaths are permissible?

Everything that you said here has great merit! Due to the need-to-know professions of both of my parents, I was shaken awake at a very early age and "POOF" a Constitutionalist was born! Ha! My father was an elite PhD of History who taught The History of Western Civilization at a major University for decades, and I assure you that the multi-generational dumbing down of Americans is VERY real and definitely Intentional all the way up to high school and even in the colleges. The criminals in our government have always worked to Intentionally "fail" to educate us, because a knowledgeable society is a HUGE problem for them when they want to violate our freedom and rights. You are very correct that many who graduate high school can't read, write, or do basic math, but VERY few have ever been taught about The American Constitution and our freedom and rights. I have never heard of a church requiring registration to attend for anything let alone a political sermon. The church I attend doesn’t tell u who to vote for they know. The good Lord has given the wisdom for us to know that task. An apology is not necessary and French should maybe give us his. Jake has Christian values and believes strongly in them. I can’t see that same integrity and actions in Mr French. Thank you Jeff for exposing more hypocrisy by the French men.

You DO get to vote for PUD Commissioner in District 2! Similar to the County Commissioner elections, only residents of the district get to vote in the primary, but the entire county votes at the general election. Also, I disagree with your characterization of Phyllis as far left. She regularly attends the WEBPA meetings and we get to speak open and frank with her all the time. She got a substantial amount of District 3 votes because she is quite conservative in many ways. For example, she would absolutely agree with you about the programs meant to subsidize only certain portions of the population's PUD bill. I have heard her say several times that the most effective way to ensure people can afford to pay their bills is to keep the base rate low for every household. She is against increasing the fees to pay for special programs. I would encourage you to reach out to her and chat about any questions you may have, she is very approachable and responsive.

Not sure I could ever confirm someone else’s political views. I find your requirement that she reach out to you, or this specific publication, as oddly obstinant. But, for what it’s worth, here’s what convinces me she is not far left:
She seeks to keep the base rate low instead of reimburse selective groups through rebate programs.
Trees falling on the transmission lines is the main cause of power outages on the West End and insufficient tree cutting set backs and for years, West End residents asked for the set backs to be increased. One of the first thing she did on getting into office was get Bonneville Power and DNR to come out to the West End, and listen to local feedback on the setbacks. They listened, this summer they cut more trees and I believe we will experience less power outages as a result.
She has a depth of knowledge about the history of local Washington state granges, and applies that in asking critical questions about retaining local control over our power decisions—particularly in Bonneville’s recent discussion about diverting power to CA when they are experiencing shortages.
In connection with WPUDA’s recent discussion on nuclear power generation, she recounted the history of 1970s Washington Public Power Supply System massive failure and questioned how present day efforts will be any different.
She regularly drives to Forks on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 am to WEBPA, a largely conservative group, to have open and free discussions.

I played that game in grade school, it’s called operator; the message starts one way and ends another way after it passes through different people. After experiences with crowded tenements, our ancestors knew CO2 was the problem not crowding.
After the Spanish Flu, they didn’t filter/mask the air, they reduced CO2 with high ceilings and open windows. I’m sure they knew masks were harmful too.
