Jeff, this is enlightening. On the one hand, JKT often portrays itself as disenfranchised, in need of public assistance that many believe is due them to make up for past wrongs perpetrated by the white man. And so they milk the system for all it’s worth. And why not, if they can? On the other hand, thanks in no small measure to massive government money, they have become a business juggernaut that competes directly with non tribal entities. This is not unique to them, tribes all over the country do the same thing. Isn’t it fair to ask, when is it going to be enough?

Enough now. Commissioners should be demanded, by the non-tribal citizens of the United States of America, to write a letter to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of Natural Resources, Washington State Representatives, Washington State Senators, Etc. opposing the transfer of the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge to the Jamestown Klallam Tribal (JST) corporation.

I demand, as a citizen of Clallam County, Washington, U.S.A., that the Clallam County Commissioners draft a letter in opposition to the transfer of the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge to the Jamestown Klallam Tribe. This land is already in trust for all citizens of the United States of America, which includes members of the Jamestown Tribe.

The commissioners did not respond to yesterday's question asking what policies have improved conditions in Clallam County over the past several years. Here is today's email:

Dear Commissioners,

Attached is a recent newsletter for your reference.

In many public discussions, the Jamestown Tribe is framed as “overburdened, underserved, and vulnerable.” But based on what we’re seeing locally, it appears they are doing better than just about anyone else in Clallam County—particularly when it comes to access to funding, regulatory flexibility, and economic opportunity.

What advice would you give to a constituent who is operating a business in direct competition with the Jamestown Tribe, but does not have access to those same advantages?

And what role, if any, do you believe the County should play in ensuring fairness for the residents and businesses you represent?

CONTROLLING THE NEWS, CONTROLLING CLALLAM COUNTY LEADERS AND A FUNDING FREE FOR ALL IS HOW THE LAND BACK STRATEGY IS WORKING.

There are some things money can't buy; for everything else, there's a MasterAllen Card...who’s in his back pocket?

JKT DICTATORSHIP is characterized by a leader who holds absolute or near-absolute political power. Politics and news are controlled by him, in turn, facilitated through an INNER CIRCLE OF ELITES. The dictator maintains control by INFLUENCING AND APPEASING THE INNER CIRCLE AND REPRESSING ANY OPPOSITION.

Jonathan Arakawa states that the tribe is a sovereign nation and there is nothing you can do about it. What they do is none of the white man's business.

OK.

"It was posted by Jonathan Arakawa—a youth leader who is already working within local schools, helping shape curriculum and student understanding of tribal sovereignty, civic engagement, and governance."

What other "sovereign nation" has access to our public schools to indoctrinate the students and to shape the curriculum?

I got mews for Jonathon! It is my business as long as you shop at OUR stores and drive on my streets and spend MY money. You sound like you think you can do whatever you want because you are special. God made the land not you, he just allowed you to live there. YOU might have invented the canoe but the people you rant about gave YOU the car you now drive. Get a life and be thankful for what have prospered from the White Man and how he has allowed you benefit from his wisdom and what you enjoy today. I did not see any Tribal inventions that furthered your nation. It is my business as long as you live in MY world.

I haven't research this yet but my question is what is the metric that tells anyone, including Congress, that a tribe has arrived at self-determination?

Until someone can answer this question what we have is an open-tab that the tribes have primed via campaign donations.
