@JeffTozzer, Two Ballots in the "Forks Ballot Drop Box" as of yesterday afternoon!

MK's avatar

Thank you for stepping up Dr. Sarah to write the opposing view.

It's clearly a NO vote for me.

Someone Someone's avatar

Three Nos in our house.

Great argument for a NO vote on the library levy. Thanks.

The commissioners did not reply to yesterday's email asking if they would consider writing a letter in support of residents who oppose the transfer of the wildlife refuges. Here is today's email:

Dear Commissioners,

With Public Health Week being highlighted across County properties, how do you reconcile that messaging with the ongoing open drug use and camping in those same public spaces?

Is this one we can talk or just info. I could open a can of worms that he might not have any answers for. He might hang up.

Dr. Sarah's avatar

Hi Jed, the ones I have attended always had the chat feature and then Colleen addresses them and might invite you to speak to it. It’s probably worth a try at least?

Evrita Romero's avatar

Well, I’ll tell y’all I got my ballot in mail, filled it out, cast my vote and put it in the box.

And I am happy to say that I voted NO!!!!!

Susan's avatar

Another NO vote from me too!!

ABeetlebaum's avatar

2 No votes here, also!

jedjennings50's avatar

WOW! Jeff you are right on. After watching them overspend by millions on building the new library it is no wonder they have no money. This building has every thing you can imagine in it. Solar, electric blinds, audio visual, metering, expensive lights, scenes and that will allow for classroom that teach and house the derilects that will be camping out inside on rainy days. These people do not care about books it is just another monument that will be trashed in a short time. When do we stop the waste? NOW. Vote NO!

When a "library" wants to morph into a social services center and asks for a budget more than the sheriff's department, is there not something wrong with this picture? Just one more "death by a thousand cuts" increase in taxes. Will it ever be enough for this crowd?

Someone Someone's avatar

Good job, Jeff. That should transform many No votes into Hell No votes. Unfortunately, I think the average sheeple in Clallam thinks that expanding the NOLS mission is a good idea. :(

Someone Someone's avatar

Can somebody share this to TRPA on Facebook so that everyone can see it?

Jennifer's avatar

Thank you Dr Sarah for the video on Decoding Proposition 1 for NOLS. Everybody, whether they vote or not, should see this.

The pictures taken at the Human Health Services Building is a classic street photographic Oxymoron. A picture is worth a thousand words.

WE ARE A COUNTY THAT CANNOT FUND BASIC SERVICE NEEDS SO WE KEEP TAXING TO FUND THOSE WHO CAN’T MANAGE THEIR BASIC SERVICE REQUIREMENTS.

IT'S A LIBRARY, NOT THE CENTER FOR UNIVERSAL CARE!

Below is a very good article by Diane Gruber. She sums up what is happening in Clallam County.

Bad politics + Bad spending = BANKRUPTCY

https://dianelgruber.substack.com/p/living-behind-enemy-lines-in-cow?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

The sane Americans who live on the Left Coast have long since noticed a pattern. When politicians & bureaucrats in one state or city come up with a colossally bad policy, the other two quickly follow. That is why we call California, Oregon & Washington “C.O.W.”

After yet another asinine policy failed in San Francisco,^ Portland and Seattle want to implement it in their cities to hasten their collapses.

NOLS proposes providing telehealth services. The library is absolutely not the place for telehealth, which is already being appropriately provided at OMC.

Susie Blake's avatar

I think PBH and NOHN as well

Jennifer's avatar

Susie, Funding Madness! We just need to install telehealth connections in the expensive outdoor restrooms. That way the homeless can get a threefer all in the safety of a toilet (S---, Shootup, and Services for those pesky problems) As you can read, the F word sets me off! LOL

Jennifer's avatar

SomeSome, spread the money around to as many NGO's as possible. It's a veritable Fountain of Funding Fun For Free. The homeless gets funding, the Tribe gets funding, we get (%@!*)

jedjennings50's avatar

Not on the library but I was reading the Seattle paper today and they are building 500 shelter abodes for 45k each. Granted they do not have dishwashers but we could have built 250 instead of the $350k for each PBH condo. Just like the Library no responsible spending. Is it Chapter 11 when you go bankrupt? We are about to find out soon.

MK's avatar

That's been my gripe for as long as I've been watching government spend money that isn't theirs. There seems to be little discretion if any and we are left to foot the bills.

I do believe that Jake's platform covers this.

“The challenges facing our county can be solved — if we start asking two simple questions about every policy, every program, every dollar spent: Is it essential? Is it effective?”

— Jake Seegers

Marge's avatar

Why should we “trads” support ideological programs that we fundamentally oppose with our taxpayer funds? Feels like coercion to me.

Susie Blake's avatar

it is coercion. the ND posts and comments are full of fear mongering "the library will CLOSE without this" with a smattering of "i will gleefully pay this" privelege from wealthy liberal retirees who want to label anyone who doesn't want to throw money at the library as an extremist of the opposite flavor.

Jennifer's avatar

Susie, I noticed there were many "yes" people, but actually someone put up Jeff's site for today. The response was, "Thanks, I never knew!" So Mr Tozzer another one bites the NextDoor dust!

Gracious me, how can one group of people see things so differently than the other group of people? It seems so simple to see how towns have been DESTROYED, states are in trouble & tax tax tax is the destroyers answer……WE HAVE TO STOP because it’s not working, won’t work & failure can’t be fixed by continuing to go in the same direction that is continuing to destroy our towns! VOTE NO…….every time, VOTE NO.

Last 3 Pictures. Pick a title: (1) Build a MAT clinic in a cornfield and they will come. (2) The Inmates are running the asylum in Clallam County (3) Postcards from the Edge of Dungeness Spit, (4) Clallam County Taxpayers: Pay Attention, we need more $350,000 Fentanyl Frenzied Flophouses. (5) "Tenting tonight on the old campgrounds" coming down in 3 part harmony. And the envelope, please! And the Winner is

jedjennings50's avatar

All of the above!

Jennifer's avatar

Geoff, good one! Let me know who the winner is ; )

veronica's avatar

Not only NO, but hell NO. The library does not speak for me. Haven't we already paid for this mess?

Enough. I cannot pay more property tax. This is a no brainer

Libraries that support pornography for minors, support the left radical agendas, supporting drug addicts with a place to lounge around and sleep disturbing others, already getting more $$$ than it needs to operate does not need more $$$ to waste.

The health department photo puts me over the top.

I am muttering to myself this morning as I prepare my 98 year old mother for an ungodly early appointment with her pain management doctor. I'm agitated about topsy turvy drug policies that favor drug addicts instead of law-abiding citizens.

Mom's a recent "graduate" from 11 months as a hospice patient. The hospice doctor was the fearless genius who finally provided the comfort she deserves when he prescribed two 5mg tablets of oxycodone daily for relief from the pain she suffers due to severe spinal stenosis.

Upon graduating out of hospice she has returned to her previous physicians who are afraid to prescribe oxycodone due to lawsuits and regulations stemming from the abuse of that opiode. She's previously been prescribeded ineffective (for her) drugs like tramadol and rash-causing buprenorphine patches to avoid prescribing oxycodone.

The pain management physician now realizes that only oxycodone can provide relief so it is begrudgingly prescribed, but with monthly office visits to renew her 30 day supply and supervised urine sample collection at a lab. The doctor's CYA mentality is obvious. He has to be sure that mom isn't selling her oxy on the black market so she must schlep twice month to be sure she's not abusing her prescribed medication for which she pays a co-pay from her paltry monthly social security check.

However, the public "health" department enables opiode abusers with FREE methods to administer ILLEGALLY obtained opiodes without any conditions for drug testing. They don't need an appointment or to provide urine samples.

That's why I'm muttering.

Susie Blake's avatar

absolute insanity, urine testing a 98 yr old w/stenosis, BS milking the insurance, God forbid a 98 yr old feel too good

Christy Campbell's avatar

I feel for you and your mother. It seems it is always those that play by the rules that pay the cost of those that don't.

Let's worry about a 98 year old getting addicted. Make her jump through insane hoops and be sure she feels like a worthless drug seeking human being.

Ridiculous.

ABeetlebaum's avatar

This reminds me of the laws during COVID, where hundreds of families could not see/visit their dying mothers, fathers, sister, brothers... I'm so sorry this is happening to your mother and you.

@Dr.Sarah, Thank you for the excellent video.

Thank you for laying bare my conflicted feelings about more money for NOLS. It is the library system this senior grew up with that I want to support. I drew a line in the sand on any and all taxation. As long as my taxes are being used to promote minority-ism, I already pay to many taxes. The displayed book appearing to be generically about politics shows it's minority-ism bias in the smaller print clearly promoting the concept this country was stolen from others. I can no longer tolerate the short sightedness in dividing us into smaller and smaller "minority" groups and then altruistically waving a flag for one of the innumerable "minorities" that they may not be equally represented or supported. Merit has no bias. Our library system should not be in the partizen promotion business. In short; they are already wasting the money I provide and I will not willingly provide more. If the will of the unthinking Lemmings prevails, I may have to pay more, but I will not vote to support minority-ism.

Those MK books are rampant in society now. MK is a British publishing house, and most of their titles are 'simplified' Woke subjects. yuk
