The commissioners did not reply to yesterday's email asking if they would be interested in working on potential gaps that allow out-of-state sex offenders to reside in Clallam County without registering.
Here is today's email sent to the commissioners:
Dear Commissioners,
You previously issued a letter of support for the Sequim School District bond and levy measures—measures that passed and will commit local taxpayers to a substantial long-term obligation. When interest is factored in—reportedly on the order of $100 million beyond the principal—the total cost approaches a quarter of a billion dollars over the life of the bond.
Given that level of public investment, would you consider issuing a similar letter of support on behalf of citizens who are raising concerns about transparency, accountability, and whether student interests are being fully prioritized?
Many in the community point to declining enrollment, disappointing academic outcomes, and a pattern of handling serious issues internally rather than through independent investigation. With taxpayers committed at this scale, there is a growing expectation for openness and trust in return.
Would you be willing to publicly support those calling for greater transparency and independent review where appropriate?
I just think what my father would have done if a teacher every behaved like this with me. My ma would have been all over it but pop's would have been full blown Kodiak. Daddies and daughters when I dated in HS boys had to come in and meet him and even worse shake hands ;)
It would be best to understand that Stoffer and these abusers of our system and "US" (Americans) are very INTENTIONALLY being hired and/or otherwise "inserted" and "re-inserted" back into our system by Individuals of criminal intentions~! Never mind their "crocodile smiles" and "pre-scripted fancy feel-good words" that come out of their mouths~! This is in fact the ONLY possible explanation when "we" consider the VAST and overwhelming preponderance of evidence nationwide~! That is a TERRIBLE & HORRIFIC "assumption", and such tragically flawed thinking has actually led to the proliferation of these very same endemic problems becoming worse and worse over these many past decades. Instead of falling for the excuses and flim-flam intentionally fake & flawed "reasoning" and preposterous never-ending excuses, consider the possibility that these scumbags are simply "hired hit men" (and "hit women") who's ONLY true agenda is to very intentionally destroy the fabric of America itself~! Those who are old enough remember the well-known warnings of "creeping socialism" a few decades ago. Most laughed at that back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Are "we" laughing now??? Yes, it really is going on all over the US, and I suspect that you are correct about it happening in every other country as well! That could not be the case, unless it was a product of The Globalists (The Illuminati = The Criminals of Humanity) and I have been doing my best to fight against their evil agenda for a great many decades now. You are so very right that justice does look different for many people, however most of that "confusion" is very intentionally orchestrated by The Globalists via the fake news media and their political puppets. What "we" (Americans - humanity) are in fact currently experiencing today is the reveal or disclosure of the criminals of humanity and their evil Luciferian (Satanic) system of control, which is intended to overcome that confusion of what justice looks like, so that the largest number of Americans and folks all over the world can FINALLY come together to be on the same page. It made me sick to my stomach when I read this article yesterday! The children are our most vulnerable and the board and teachers must make sure they’re safe at all times!
I had a couple of friends that had children in the school system here and they didn’t like the curriculum that was being crammed down their throats and being basically brainwashed. They pulled them out and Home schooled them and I think it was the best decision they ever made!
The school district and board need to be held accountable and I believe removed from their jobs and get people in there that are honest and would stand up and protect these precious children.
When I look back on the last few school board elections the sense I have is that we're in a candidate desert. The pickings were slim. When an uninformed voter looks at a voters guide they typically see one highly educated person running against someone with what appears to be little education. So the toss up is highly educated vs essentially none.
What the voters, IMO, don't see well, is that it doesn't take all those acronyms behind a candidates name to make a good leader.
I'm ready to vote in anyone new just to mix it up because continuing isn't working.

I now live in Kitsap County but I taught in the Sequim schools in the late 90s until 2005. And my daughters attended elementary school in Sequim.
I’ve been retired from public education for about three years after teaching in several public school districts in both California and Washington. Unfortunately what you describe in Sequim is common. It’s called “risk management”.
You are absolutely correct that all public entities must be held accountable by the voters. Thanks so much for shining a light on this, and bringing it to the folks in Sequim!
One more thing that you might have already thought of is getting the non-voting public to vote. In my own experience, I have a lot of family members that don’t bother to vote because they figure that they don’t have a voice and that they will get screwed either way. So I think it’s very important to get this block of folks to vote. Not just try to convince the regular voters.
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately encouraging people who don’t usually vote to start participating. So far, I’ve helped about six non-voters get engaged, and I’ve also convinced my oldest daughter- who just became eligible -to take part as well.
Having been a non-voter myself for many years, I understand the “why bother” mindset. It’s easy to feel like your voice doesn’t matter. But I’ve come to believe that, especially at the local level, it absolutely does. That’s where change is often the most visible- and the most achievable.
What I’d really like to see next is more people stepping up to run for local positions. We need fresh perspectives, and that only happens when new voices are willing to get involved.
If you know people who usually sit elections out, consider encouraging them to participate- even if it’s just locally. Our voter turnout in Clallam County is embarrassingly low, and that won’t change unless more of us decide it’s worth showing up.
A fellow student at the Sequim Middle School threatened to shoot my daughter in class on Wednesday. There is an ongoing “assessment” being made and the student was not in school on Thursday. I have called the SPD to inquire if they were contacted and they are supposed to call me back, probably on Monday. I went into the school in person on Thursday and spoke with staff. The student involved has a history of violence and seems to have a bad reputation in the school. I don’t think any of the other parents in the class were told that this took place. If this happened in your child’s classroom would you want to know?
In this day and age, such an incident should take priority hands down. To dismiss and "supposed to call me back, probably on Monday" is unaccepatable. We live in times that you can never ever take a school threat so casually. Just wow.

I did contact SPD. I am waiting to hear back from them. After reading all these comments it seems my ignorance is greater than I thought. It never occurred to me to call the Sheriffs Department or FBI.
No, they just kept repeating that there was an assessment underway. They made it seem like the police were involved but never actually admitted if the police were or were not. That is why I called SPD. I wanted to know if they were involved, or made aware. Nobody has contacted me back so far.

When I read this I too got sick. Not a good feeling before my coffee. This school district is out of control with actions and our money. Another watch for our money is happening right before our eyes. The school levy is being spent on a Native American Consulting construction firm out of Federal Way. They will pick the GC from Seattle or Tacoma and pick their buddies over there to come here and take our $150m. I received in the mail the other day from the district a news letter and it included an article about how they wanted local bidding on the new money being spent. BS they are covering their ass to what lies ahead. I wonder how these stewards of our money sleep at night.
Exactly what I thought when I received the letter as well based on the numerous examples you have cited. It touches on multiple aspects of what's wrong here.
It's just wrong. It's a system that works around the rules to pay someone else for unknown reasons that I can hypothesize, but let's leave it at that it's wrong.
I remember speaking with Mr. Verstagen, remember him Jeff? I don't know if he was still the principal at SHS in the mid-90's when you may have been there but in the late-ish 80's he was.
I was having a conversation with him at the parking lot at SHS wherein I mentioned the drug problem and he said "we don't have a drug problem". Well then how the hell did I know about it?
Anyway, nothing to do with Sequim nowadays other than the irritation I get from pushy entitled old farts at Sunny Farms as they nearly mow me over with their shopping carts. Sometimes I go there just to feel younger. Funny how perspectives change when my memories cooked up in that town began in my mid-twenties and ended just before forty.
My biggest regret, looking back at when I had my oldest daughter plugged into public school there is that I was forced by circumstances to put her into that school system in the first place. But homeschooling was not really on my radar in those days, not even a concept, and my ex-wife would not have been a prime candidate for implementation of this to begin with. Alas.
But the difference in life and it's accompanying paradigms along the way between daughter #1 and daughter #2 is vast and deep. Daughter #1 was appalled, shocked, concerned or whatever that we put daughter #2 into homeschooling. Actually, she was not put anywhere, she stayed right where she was. Oh, but...what about that piece of paper? Did it. But with another end result piece of paper worth just as much as any public school's final sheet.
I guess looking at the fact that now my grand-kids (children of daughter #2) are being home schooled by Mom of daughter 2 as well, of course, by daughter #2. As daughter #1 has her two latch key boys in public school on Whidby Island. They were afraid to go in public during "Covid".
It obviously relies greatly on spousal support, (being involved) which means having the right spouse, in order to do such a thing as home school but it was all worth it EVEN without as much of a 2nd income over the years. I have way more confidence in my grand-kids confidence and bigger picture knowledge getting them through the shit-storm that's coming than I do with my older grand-kids who were plugged into the Seattle School District and currently on Whidby Island.
I would no sooner have a thing to do with a public school any more than I would connecting to a white smocked stethoscope priest of that system. Corruption is everythere.
My concern with the Sequim school board is unfortunately the unionism side. Unionism by it's historical nature and expanded influence has and does create an us and them environment. The good of the kids and/or the community becomes secondary to the union/us/team. A teacher's union will always extract the maximum in compensation attainable, regardless of results. Unions protect low performing teachers and prevent rewarding high performing teachers. The unions are so influential that all things education become subservient to them, like management, maintenance and suppliers. School levies are now rigged to the extent that the only way a levy could not be approved is for the voting public to stay home, The aforementioned conglomerate, ( teachers, maintenance, suppliers, their extended influence and school age parents), are all automatic yes votes. That any school levy might get the requisite yes vote percentage is already a locked surety. The only vulnerability any school levy has of not passing is, if an insufficient percentage of the voter public does not vote. Secondary to us and them is the liberalism that comes with unionism. My kids are now middle aged, but I would be furious to see curriculum teaching my kids sexual deviancy and the all too many possibilities of sexual orientation. Adolescence is more than challenging enough without some feel good, misdirected, altruistic, instructor telling kids they may have been born in the wrong body. Education and sex should emulate church and State.
There was no mention of Paul Brinkman. He's the teacher that came from Port Angeles after raping a student who refused to testify so he was never convicted and is now actively teaching at Sequim High School.
Yes! My daughter had to remove herself from Brinkman's class. She told me he made her feel uncomfortable so I went in and we changed her out of that class the next day.
Reading this morning that the school district is facing a 1.8 million dollar shortfall due to declining enrollment and expenses (the expense she mentions is the price of diesel). I believe it will continue to decline. Talking to a neighbor this week, they are moving primarily to get their kids out of the school district here and heading to Florida. Another couple a few months ago stating they are pulling their kids and headed to South Carolina. Both are long time residents and said they don't like what they see happening in the community, the drugs, the lack of anything being done about it. One Dad said he had enough when he was downtown with his young son and some adult yelled at them calling him a facist. And what is being done about the house near the middle school that deals dope. So much wrong, and the icing on the cake, Stoffer being elected to the charter review, you seriously can't make this stuff up. SMDH.

There is highly dysfunctional protectionist culture within the government and especially the US educational system~! My family has old and deep ties to the educational system at a very high level. The so-called "student testing" has constantly proven the very decline in performance of the failed system itself. While the spin jockeys at the administrative level constantly lie to the public by claiming that the student testing "proves" that the educational system is somehow working/improving, these same underhanded liars constantly work to keep "lowering the bar" of testing itself, to make sure that their failures are not as obvious to those who are not paying attention. One only need look at the fools like Mark Ozias, Jim Stoffer, Patrice Johnston, and Eric Pickens to understand that none of them are Intelligent enough to know how to play the nasty games that they do. So given that these same underhanded tactics have been deployed EVERYWHERE across the US for many decades, it should be obvious that there has been a very organized effort to share these exact same underhanded dirty tricks and often criminal tactics that have been successful in other areas of the country~! I remember trying to tell my father about the few horrific teachers that I had in school, to which my father, a teacher himself, ALWAYS defended the teacher in question and IMMEDIATELY blamed me and/or called me a liar, which had a devastating impact on our family because parents who foolishly and ignorantly do that create the environment of distrust and dysfunction within their own families. Of course, my respect for my father vanished over time because no child respects being ignored and falsely accused. God is great however, because I received a VERY "special Divine gift" in the very last year of my high school experience! I was a solid student, because anything less would have invoked the instant wrath of my father, so in order to better prepare myself for college I took an advanced English writing class in my Senior year of high school with a male student friend of mine. The first day of class we noticed that we were the only males in that class, which we liked, however right before the class even started a female student in the class turned around in her chair looking shocked and said "YOU guys are taking THIS class???" directly communicating that we had somehow violated an unwritten rule and we were going to pay a SERIOUS price~! As I was already capable of writing/composing at a solid sophomore level in college at that time, as my father would have had it no other way, I just responded with a "Whatever" attitude and paid no attention to the apparent warning at that time. Well, as that high school English Composition class progressed, we were all regularly given subjects to take home to write about for our homework assignments, to turn in the next class for grading, which was the curriculum of that specific class. Just homework writing assignments... Well, as if by "magic" (indeed "Black Magic") suddenly my entire previous writing history of school at that point, where I had been nothing but a solid B to A+ performing student, completely "evaporated" to the point where it could be assumed that I had difficulty spelling my own name. C- to C grades dogged me in that class for months, causing my father to rant and rage against me no end as if I was "not trying" and somehow personally failing as a human being~! Anyway, my father became SO enraged at me, that he decided to "help" by personally reviewing my English composition homework before I turned it in for grading. After seeing that my grades failed to improve at all, even though my PhD Emeritus, Distinguished, with Honors, "teacher of the year" father, who was THE #1 Professor on a major University campus for decades, was reviewing every single word of my homework and approving of the same, my father started to understand that something was actually amiss~! Now this is where it gets fun! HA! For me ;-) Remember, over all of my years I NEVER had many complaints against the teachers that I had, except for the few absolutely terrible teachers that well deserved honest complaints... SO, that class only had one more assignment remaining, as a "final grade" and my now completely enraged father, still absolutely sure that I was somehow "failing as a human being", decided that HE was going to write my last homework assignment ENTIRELY by himself without any input from me whatsoever~! HA! Well, this was new to say the least in my family, but I was happy to see what I already knew the results were going to be. My father grabbed my final homework assignment and completely finished it as he said he was going to do, and you know that he indeed triple checked "his homework". I was allowed to then review my father's homework assignment, which completely reversed the traditional roles of the family in a most surreal way... I turned in "MY" last homework assignment, expertly typed written, and just waited for the next day, the last day of class. My father received a "C"~! HA! HA! HA! HA! When I showed my father HIS sub-par grade, in high school mind you, he was COMPLETELY enraged and screamed "How DARE your high school teacher grade ME, the almighty PhD" an "average high school level sub-par" writer, ESPECIALLY as your high school teacher was young enough to have been one of HIS students in college years ago!!!". At this point I am just thrilled to have completed my high school requirements, ready to get away from that "day care prison" cesspool of abuse and designed failuresssss, but you got to know how satisfied I am that my father sure did get a delicious and abundantly well-deserved taste of his own medicine that he had coming for many years because of his constant failures to listen to me~! Ah, what good sport! After I graduated, because my father knew that I would obviously be retaliated against if that corrupt high school administration had a chance, my father wrote a stinging letter to that high schools Principle and disclosed what he had done and discovered. Of course, nothing was ever done to the grossly evil teacher, but I was already enrolled in college and I could care less... My father, of course, never apologized to me, but he never did anyway, so whatareyagonnado? I will always remember my very last "test" in high school, when I had to meet with my high school counselor to be "signed off" early, after only 3 years and 1 quarter, because I wanted out of that dysfunctional and dangerous Hell hole ASAP~! My counselor glanced at my transcript of mostly above average to excellent grades and asked me what I intended to do. To which I responded, "I am going to college" (even though it was none of his business)... My counselor immediately aggressively replied, "No you are NOT~!" and I asked why? to which he responded that I could not get into college because I didn't take the 2 years of foreign languages "requirement" to even qualify for entrance into college. I had actually known that the 2 years of foreign language to get into college BS was a blatant lie for over 10 years, so I just told that idiot lying manipulative counselor that I was in fact going to college~! I did immediately enroll in college, and of course no one EVER said anything about high school foreign language study in college. There is of course no such "requirement" and never has been, because that would be COMPLETELY unconstitutional. It is only one of the countless lies of government, to trick unsuspecting Americans into falling for "The Swamps" bullying treachery that has existed for well over 100 years~! Oh, and just for the record and to my overall point, I happened to still have that friend who was in fact my high school math teacher at that same school, who upon hearing of my stories, immediately disclosed that he knew that my high school counselor did in fact KNOW that there is NO 2 year foreign language requirement in high school to get into college~! That counselor could care less if I went to college, or took 2 years of foreign language, because his ONLY interest was that the school was going to lose somewhere around $20 a day for the remainder of that school year because I was graduating early~! These scumbags ONLY care about money and power! My high school teacher friend was not only the head of the math department for many years, but he also taught Spanish as well, so of course he would know the truth. Additionally, he also disclosed the fact that my high school Advanced English Composition teacher was actually a lesbian who was in fact well-known to absolutely HATE men and ALL males regardless of age~! Upon confirming that, EVERYTHING came into perfect focus and fit exactly with what my father and I had experienced~!!! So, pardon my rambling story, however the student (teacher & society) abuses that you so well write about go FAR deeper into the very heart of the American educational system and fabric of society, and there is NO acceptable excuse for lying, deceiving, and abusing our young students in ANY way, because that always results in great mistrust, anger, and anti-social behavior from all of those who are the abused~! A TOTAL rebuilding of our entire government and ESPECIALLY the American educational system absolutely MUST be accomplished now~! HA~! It is a great thing that what "we" are currently witnessing and experiencing, is in fact that very painful transition from the old criminally corrupt system into a hopefully FAR better matrix for current and future generations~!!!

Your school experience reminds me of a Jack ass psychology professor in college. First year. He would take whatever was turned in and red sharpie pen a missed comma or a spacing mistake.
There was no changing it on a computer screen, and he’d make sure every page was ruined. I saw him years later when I was a guest speaker at that college. He had gotten old, his cool car turned into a beater and I was happy snubbing him at the luncheon
I think he’d gotten high in his car right before. Total loser.
PS my friends husband had a law practice and I’d have him check my homework. Still the work of a lawyer wouldn’t pass this assholes red pen. I typed the exact same homework 2 times. First one red penned, next day exact duplicate passed.

Yes, absolutely, my father was a classic bully and our entire family suffered horrifically because of it. Unfortunately, I took the brunt of his mental and physical abuse as a child, so thankfully my relationship with God helped me MANY times and I am sure in MANY more ways than I currently even understand. I have actually recently been thinking of just how lucky I have been all of my life~! Thankfully I could never become the abusive bully that my father was, so that is why I am SO against all kinds of bullies to this very day. I remember being very young when I first started to wonder why my father was the way he was, what kind of terrible childhood & life experiences that he had that resulted in him being such a terrible controlling "mini tyrant"? He had an obvious good side that always seemed awkward & painful for him to express, so those times were very short lived. Those of us in the immediate family knew that he could and did "flip the script" in a heartbeat without any notice or good reason, to go from what seemed like a normal Individual into what was very clearly an explosive dangerous anger filled & hateful Individual. He could and ALWAYS did control himself when "others" (outsiders) were present, because he was very well aware of his bad behavior and he clearly didn't want anyone to ever see that side. So, many who knew him for decades NEVER witnessed my father's true self because he had them COMPLETELY fooled. I always deeply resented the fact that he regularly treated my mom and especially myself with such nasty and mean behavior, but that he was very well capable and more than willing to be nice and decent to literally everyone else (even complete strangers). Then, when I was about 12 or 13 years old, he was diagnosed with what was then called a "Blood Sugar Problem" which was the early term (code speak) for a "pre or mild diabetic" medical condition! HAZA~! The truth started to come into focus, even for me at that young age... HA~! Well, about 10 or so years later, I myself was in college and researching mental health issues to attempt to better understand why my father was SO unpleasant and that is when I stumbled upon the common diagnosis called "Bi-Polar" issues~!!! Suddenly, my father's mental issues became ABSOLUTELY crystal clear because he was very clearly an undiagnosed classic Bi-Polar mental patient~! This was important for me because I finally realized that I was a victim and NOT responsible for my father's rage in any way because he was the one with the mental issue. I am an "Empath" so I felt sorry for my father, but unfortunately there was nothing that I could do to help him. I talked with my mother about it, and she had obviously known all along that he was seriously mentally unstable, but she also knew that my father would NEVER seek or accept ANY diagnosis or treatment that revealed that his "brain" had bad wiring... I have always pitied him because he was SO prone to being wrong about pretty much everything and everyone... Including himself. He was really such a miserable Individual, and this world will definitely give folks reason to be miserable, however it really is an absolutely beautiful and amazing world for those who embrace Goodness~! I LOVE your story about the "phycology professor" because you have described the very truth about that seriously dysfunctional field. Ironically, it was my father, the PhD professor of History at a major University, who long ago tipped me off that it was a VERY well-known fact that Individuals who become phycology majors, especially those who actually enter the profession, do so because THEY know that they have mental issues themselves and they are looking for answers~!!! HA~! That truth is well known, shared, and laughed about, at the higher level of education BTW. At first, I thought that my father was just being "mean spirited", however over the decades I have interviewed and many times tested what he said, and DAMN he was 100% absolutely right about that beyond any doubt. In fact, I have very carefully and delicately asked numerous college "phycology majors" why they chose that field to focus upon, and BINGO folks would be completely shocked to learn that many freely admit that it was because they knew that they had mental health issues of all kinds and levels themselves~! Good grief~! In other words, many of these Individuals are in fact "Bat shit crazy" and they know it, AND they feel that they can help people~!!! Geee, I wonder what could go wrong there??? Oh, for corn's sake :-() Well, there are very clearly many with mental health issues these days, and if an Individual isn't born with them, they stand a pretty good chance of developing mental health issues in this screwed up society (country & world). “ Think how many agencies, social workers, cleaners, executives making huge salaries, and other support staff could be re-deployed or let go, saving taxpayers much money! Unfortunately, the livelihoods of all the “helpers” are more important than the citizens affected by all the crime, filth, and degradation they see every day.”
The commissioners did not reply to yesterday's email asking if they would be interested in working on potential gaps that allow out-of-state sex offenders to reside in Clallam County without registering.
Here is today's email sent to the commissioners:

You previously issued a letter of support for the Sequim School District bond and levy measures—measures that passed and will commit local taxpayers to a substantial long-term obligation. When interest is factored in—reportedly on the order of $100 million beyond the principal—the total cost approaches a quarter of a billion dollars over the life of the bond.
Given that level of public investment, would you consider issuing a similar letter of support on behalf of citizens who are raising concerns about transparency, accountability, and whether student interests are being fully prioritized?

You are so very right that justice does look different for many people, however most of that "confusion" is very intentionally orchestrated by The Globalists via the fake news media and their political puppets. It made me sick to my stomach when I read this article yesterday! The children are our most vulnerable and the board and teachers must make sure they’re safe at all times!
I had a couple of friends that had children in the school system here and they didn’t like the curriculum that was being crammed down their throats and being basically brainwashed. They pulled them out and Home schooled them and I think it was the best decision they ever made!
The school district and board need to be held accountable and I believe removed from their jobs and get people in there that are honest and would stand up and protect these precious children.
When I look back on the last few school board elections the sense I have is that we're in a candidate desert. The pickings were slim. When an uninformed voter looks at a voters guide they typically see one highly educated person running against someone with what appears to be little education. So the toss up is highly educated vs essentially none.
What the voters, IMO, don't see well, is that it doesn't take all those acronyms behind a candidates name to make a good leader.
I'm ready to vote in anyone new just to mix it up because continuing isn't working.

I now live in Kitsap County but I taught in the Sequim schools in the late 90s until 2005. And my daughters attended elementary school in Sequim.
I’ve been retired from public education for about three years after teaching in several public school districts in both California and Washington. Unfortunately what you describe in Sequim is common. It’s called “risk management”.
You are absolutely correct that all public entities must be held accountable by the voters. Thanks so much for shining a light on this, and bringing it to the folks in Sequim!
One more thing that you might have already thought of is getting the non-voting public to vote. In my own experience, I have a lot of family members that don’t bother to vote because they figure that they don’t have a voice and that they will get screwed either way. So I think it’s very important to get this block of folks to vote. Not just try to convince the regular voters.

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately encouraging people who don’t usually vote to start participating. So far, I’ve helped about six non-voters get engaged, and I’ve also convinced my oldest daughter- who just became eligible -to take part as well.
Having been a non-voter myself for many years, I understand the “why bother” mindset. It’s easy to feel like your voice doesn’t matter. But I’ve come to believe that, especially at the local level, it absolutely does. That’s where change is often the most visible- and the most achievable.
What I’d really like to see next is more people stepping up to run for local positions. We need fresh perspectives, and that only happens when new voices are willing to get involved.
If you know people who usually sit elections out, consider encouraging them to participate- even if it’s just locally. Our voter turnout in Clallam County is embarrassingly low, and that won’t change unless more of us decide it’s worth showing up.

A fellow student at the Sequim Middle School threatened to shoot my daughter in class on Wednesday. There is an ongoing “assessment” being made and the student was not in school on Thursday. I have called the SPD to inquire if they were contacted and they are supposed to call me back, probably on Monday. I went into the school in person on Thursday and spoke with staff. The student involved has a history of violence and seems to have a bad reputation in the school. I don’t think any of the other parents in the class were told that this took place. If this happened in your child’s classroom would you want to know?

I did contact SPD. I am waiting to hear back from them. After reading all these comments it seems my ignorance is greater than I thought. It never occurred to me to call the Sheriffs Department or FBI.

No, they just kept repeating that there was an assessment underway. They made it seem like the police were involved but never actually admitted if the police were or were not. That is why I called SPD. I wanted to know if they were involved, or made aware. Nobody has contacted me back so far.

When I read this I too got sick. Not a good feeling before my coffee. This school district is out of control with actions and our money. Another watch for our money is happening right before our eyes. The school levy is being spent on a Native American Consulting construction firm out of Federal Way. They will pick the GC from Seattle or Tacoma and pick their buddies over there to come here and take our $150m. I received in the mail the other day from the district a news letter and it included an article about how they wanted local bidding on the new money being spent. BS they are covering their ass to what lies ahead. I wonder how these stewards of our money sleep at night.

Yesterday, the Olympic Herald sent shockwaves ---- Is putting it mildly. Much more like a big BOOM.
I had no idea since I don't have kids let alone ones in the Sequim. I had heard a few things but this was WOW just WOW.
I remember speaking with Mr. Verstagen, remember him Jeff? I don't know if he was still the principal at SHS in the mid-90's when you may have been there but in the late-ish 80's he was.
I was having a conversation with him at the parking lot at SHS wherein I mentioned the drug problem and he said "we don't have a drug problem". Well then how the hell did I know about it?
Anyway, nothing to do with Sequim nowadays other than the irritation I get from pushy entitled old farts at Sunny Farms as they nearly mow me over with their shopping carts. Sometimes I go there just to feel younger. Funny how perspectives change when my memories cooked up in that town began in my mid-twenties and ended just before forty.
My biggest regret, looking back at when I had my oldest daughter plugged into public school there is that I was forced by circumstances to put her into that school system in the first place. But homeschooling was not really on my radar in those days, not even a concept, and my ex-wife would not have been a prime candidate for implementation of this to begin with. Alas.
But the difference in life and it's accompanying paradigms along the way between daughter #1 and daughter #2 is vast and deep. Daughter #1 was appalled, shocked, concerned or whatever that we put daughter #2 into homeschooling. Actually, she was not put anywhere, she stayed right where she was. Oh, but...what about that piece of paper? Did it. But with another end result piece of paper worth just as much as any public school's final sheet.
I guess looking at the fact that now my grand-kids (children of daughter #2) are being home schooled by Mom of daughter 2 as well, of course, by daughter #2. As daughter #1 has her two latch key boys in public school on Whidby Island. They were afraid to go in public during "Covid".
It obviously relies greatly on spousal support, (being involved) which means having the right spouse, in order to do such a thing as home school but it was all worth it EVEN without as much of a 2nd income over the years. I have way more confidence in my grand-kids confidence and bigger picture knowledge getting them through the shit-storm that's coming than I do with my older grand-kids who were plugged into the Seattle School District and currently on Whidby Island.
I would no sooner have a thing to do with a public school any more than I would connecting to a white smocked stethoscope priest of that system. Corruption is everythere.

My concern with the Sequim school board is unfortunately the unionism side. Unionism by it's historical nature and expanded influence has and does create an us and them environment. The good of the kids and/or the community becomes secondary to the union/us/team. A teacher's union will always extract the maximum in compensation attainable, regardless of results. Unions protect low performing teachers and prevent rewarding high performing teachers. The unions are so influential that all things education become subservient to them, like management, maintenance and suppliers. School levies are now rigged to the extent that the only way a levy could not be approved is for the voting public to stay home, The aforementioned conglomerate, ( teachers, maintenance, suppliers, their extended influence and school age parents), are all automatic yes votes. That any school levy might get the requisite yes vote percentage is already a locked surety. The only vulnerability any school levy has of not passing is, if an insufficient percentage of the voter public does not vote. Secondary to us and them is the liberalism that comes with unionism. My kids are now middle aged, but I would be furious to see curriculum teaching my kids sexual deviancy and the all too many possibilities of sexual orientation. Adolescence is more than challenging enough without some feel good, misdirected, altruistic, instructor telling kids they may have been born in the wrong body. Education and sex should emulate church and State.

Reading this morning that the school district is facing a 1.8 million dollar shortfall due to declining enrollment and expenses (the expense she mentions is the price of diesel). I believe it will continue to decline. Talking to a neighbor this week, they are moving primarily to get their kids out of the school district here and heading to Florida. Another couple a few months ago stating they are pulling their kids and headed to South Carolina. Both are long time residents and said they don't like what they see happening in the community, the drugs, the lack of anything being done about it. One Dad said he had enough when he was downtown with his young son and some adult yelled at them calling him a facist. And what is being done about the house near the middle school that deals dope. So much wrong, and the icing on the cake, Stoffer being elected to the charter review, you seriously can't make this stuff up. SMDH.

There is highly dysfunctional protectionist culture within the government and especially the US educational system~! My family has old and deep ties to the educational system at a very high level. The so-called "student testing" has constantly proven the very decline in performance of the failed system itself. While the spin jockeys at the administrative level constantly lie to the public by claiming that the student testing "proves" that the educational system is somehow working/improving, these same underhanded liars constantly work to keep "lowering the bar" of testing itself, to make sure that their failures are not as obvious to those who are not paying attention. One only need look at the fools like Mark Ozias, Jim Stoffer, Patrice Johnston, and Eric Pickens to understand that none of them are Intelligent enough to know how to play the nasty games that they do. So given that these same underhanded tactics have been deployed EVERYWHERE across the US for many decades, it should be obvious that there has been a very organized effort to share these exact same underhanded dirty tricks and often criminal tactics that have been successful in other areas of the country~! I remember trying to tell my father about the few horrific teachers that I had in school, to which my father, a teacher himself, ALWAYS defended the teacher in question and IMMEDIATELY blamed me and/or called me a liar, which had a devastating impact on our family because parents who foolishly and ignorantly do that create the environment of distrust and dysfunction within their own families. Of course, my respect for my father vanished over time because no child respects being ignored and falsely accused. God is great however, because I received a VERY "special Divine gift" in the very last year of my high school experience! I was a solid student, because anything less would have invoked the instant wrath of my father, so in order to better prepare myself for college I took an advanced English writing class in my Senior year of high school with a male student friend of mine. The first day of class we noticed that we were the only males in that class, which we liked, however right before the class even started a female student in the class turned around in her chair looking shocked and said "YOU guys are taking THIS class???" directly communicating that we had somehow violated an unwritten rule and we were going to pay a SERIOUS price~! As I was already capable of writing/composing at a solid sophomore level in college at that time, as my father would have had it no other way, I just responded with a "Whatever" attitude and paid no attention to the apparent warning at that time. Well, as that high school English Composition class progressed, we were all regularly given subjects to take home to write about for our homework assignments, to turn in the next class for grading, which was the curriculum of that specific class. Just homework writing assignments... Well, as if by "magic" (indeed "Black Magic") suddenly my entire previous writing history of school at that point, where I had been nothing but a solid B to A+ performing student, completely "evaporated" to the point where it could be assumed that I had difficulty spelling my own name. C- to C grades dogged me in that class for months, causing my father to rant and rage against me no end as if I was "not trying" and somehow personally failing as a human being~! Anyway, my father became SO enraged at me, that he decided to "help" by personally reviewing my English composition homework before I turned it in for grading. After seeing that my grades failed to improve at all, even though my PhD Emeritus, Distinguished, with Honors, "teacher of the year" father, who was THE #1 Professor on a major University campus for decades, was reviewing every single word of my homework and approving of the same, my father started to understand that something was actually amiss~! Now this is where it gets fun! HA! For me ;-) Remember, over all of my years I NEVER had many complaints against the teachers that I had, except for the few absolutely terrible teachers that well deserved honest complaints... SO, that class only had one more assignment remaining, as a "final grade" and my now completely enraged father, still absolutely sure that I was somehow "failing as a human being", decided that HE was going to write my last homework assignment ENTIRELY by himself without any input from me whatsoever~! HA! Well, this was new to say the least in my family, but I was happy to see what I already knew the results were going to be. My father grabbed my final homework assignment and completely finished it as he said he was going to do, and you know that he indeed triple checked "his homework". I was allowed to then review my father's homework assignment, which completely reversed the traditional roles of the family in a most surreal way... I turned in "MY" last homework assignment, expertly typed written, and just waited for the next day, the last day of class. My father received a "C"~! HA! HA! HA! HA! When I showed my father HIS sub-par grade, in high school mind you, he was COMPLETELY enraged and screamed "How DARE your high school teacher grade ME, the almighty PhD" an "average high school level sub-par" writer, ESPECIALLY as your high school teacher was young enough to have been one of HIS students in college years ago!!!". At this point I am just thrilled to have completed my high school requirements, ready to get away from that "day care prison" cesspool of abuse and designed failuresssss, but you got to know how satisfied I am that my father sure did get a delicious and abundantly well-deserved taste of his own medicine that he had coming for many years because of his constant failures to listen to me~! Ah, what good sport! After I graduated, because my father knew that I would obviously be retaliated against if that corrupt high school administration had a chance, my father wrote a stinging letter to that high schools Principle and disclosed what he had done and discovered. Of course, nothing was ever done to the grossly evil teacher, but I was already enrolled in college and I could care less... My father, of course, never apologized to me, but he never did anyway, so whatareyagonnado? I will always remember my very last "test" in high school, when I had to meet with my high school counselor to be "signed off" early, after only 3 years and 1 quarter, because I wanted out of that dysfunctional and dangerous Hell hole ASAP~! My counselor glanced at my transcript of mostly above average to excellent grades and asked me what I intended to do. To which I responded, "I am going to college" (even though it was none of his business)... My counselor immediately aggressively replied, "No you are NOT~!" and I asked why? to which he responded that I could not get into college because I didn't take the 2 years of foreign languages "requirement" to even qualify for entrance into college. I had actually known that the 2 years of foreign language to get into college BS was a blatant lie for over 10 years, so I just told that idiot lying manipulative counselor that I was in fact going to college~! I did immediately enroll in college, and of course no one EVER said anything about high school foreign language study in college. There is of course no such "requirement" and never has been, because that would be COMPLETELY unconstitutional. It is only one of the countless lies of government, to trick unsuspecting Americans into falling for "The Swamps" bullying treachery that has existed for well over 100 years~! Oh, and just for the record and to my overall point, I happened to still have that friend who was in fact my high school math teacher at that same school, who upon hearing of my stories, immediately disclosed that he knew that my high school counselor did in fact KNOW that there is NO 2 year foreign language requirement in high school to get into college~! That counselor could care less if I went to college, or took 2 years of foreign language, because his ONLY interest was that the school was going to lose somewhere around $20 a day for the remainder of that school year because I was graduating early~! These scumbags ONLY care about money and power! My high school teacher friend was not only the head of the math department for many years, but he also taught Spanish as well, so of course he would know the truth. Additionally, he also disclosed the fact that my high school Advanced English Composition teacher was actually a lesbian who was in fact well-known to absolutely HATE men and ALL males regardless of age~! Upon confirming that, EVERYTHING came into perfect focus and fit exactly with what my father and I had experienced~!!! So, pardon my rambling story, however the student (teacher & society) abuses that you so well write about go FAR deeper into the very heart of the American educational system and fabric of society, and there is NO acceptable excuse for lying, deceiving, and abusing our young students in ANY way, because that always results in great mistrust, anger, and anti-social behavior from all of those who are the abused~! A TOTAL rebuilding of our entire government and ESPECIALLY the American educational system absolutely MUST be accomplished now~! HA~! It is a great thing that what "we" are currently witnessing and experiencing, is in fact that very painful transition from the old criminally corrupt system into a hopefully FAR better matrix for current and future generations~!!!

Your school experience reminds me of a Jack ass psychology professor in college. First year. He would take whatever was turned in and red sharpie pen a missed comma or a spacing mistake.
There was no changing it on a computer screen, and he’d make sure every page was ruined. I saw him years later when I was a guest speaker at that college. He had gotten old, his cool car turned into a beater and I was happy snubbing him at the luncheon
I think he’d gotten high in his car right before. Total loser.
PS my friends husband had a law practice and I’d have him check my homework. Still the work of a lawyer wouldn’t pass this assholes red pen. I typed the exact same homework 2 times. First one red penned, next day exact duplicate passed.

Yes, absolutely, my father was a classic bully and our entire family suffered horrifically because of it. Unfortunately, I took the brunt of his mental and physical abuse as a child, so thankfully my relationship with God helped me MANY times and I am sure in MANY more ways than I currently even understand. I have actually recently been thinking of just how lucky I have been all of my life~! Thankfully I could never become the abusive bully that my father was, so that is why I am SO against all kinds of bullies to this very day. I remember being very young when I first started to wonder why my father was the way he was, what kind of terrible childhood & life experiences that he had that resulted in him being such a terrible controlling "mini tyrant"? He had an obvious good side that always seemed awkward & painful for him to express, so those times were very short lived. Those of us in the immediate family knew that he could and did "flip the script" in a heartbeat without any notice or good reason, to go from what seemed like a normal Individual into what was very clearly an explosive dangerous anger filled & hateful Individual. He could and ALWAYS did control himself when "others" (outsiders) were present, because he was very well aware of his bad behavior and he clearly didn't want anyone to ever see that side. So, many who knew him for decades NEVER witnessed my father's true self because he had them COMPLETELY fooled. I always deeply resented the fact that he regularly treated my mom and especially myself with such nasty and mean behavior, but that he was very well capable and more than willing to be nice and decent to literally everyone else (even complete strangers). Then, when I was about 12 or 13 years old, he was diagnosed with what was then called a "Blood Sugar Problem" which was the early term (code speak) for a "pre or mild diabetic" medical condition! HAZA~! The truth started to come into focus, even for me at that young age... HA~! Well, about 10 or so years later, I myself was in college and researching mental health issues to attempt to better understand why my father was SO unpleasant and that is when I stumbled upon the common diagnosis called "Bi-Polar" issues~!!! Suddenly, my father's mental issues became ABSOLUTELY crystal clear because he was very clearly an undiagnosed classic Bi-Polar mental patient~! This was important for me because I finally realized that I was a victim and NOT responsible for my father's rage in any way because he was the one with the mental issue. I am an "Empath" so I felt sorry for my father, but unfortunately there was nothing that I could do to help him. I talked with my mother about it, and she had obviously known all along that he was seriously mentally unstable, but she also knew that my father would NEVER seek or accept ANY diagnosis or treatment that revealed that his "brain" had bad wiring... I have always pitied him because he was SO prone to being wrong about pretty much everything and everyone... Including himself. He was really such a miserable Individual, and this world will definitely give folks reason to be miserable, however it really is an absolutely beautiful and amazing world for those who embrace Goodness~! I LOVE your story about the "phycology professor" because you have described the very truth about that seriously dysfunctional field. Ironically, it was my father, the PhD professor of History at a major University, who long ago tipped me off that it was a VERY well-known fact that Individuals who become phycology majors, especially those who actually enter the profession, do so because THEY know that they have mental issues themselves and they are looking for answers~!!! HA~! That truth is well known, shared, and laughed about, at the higher level of education BTW. At first, I thought that my father was just being "mean spirited", however over the decades I have interviewed and many times tested what he said, and DAMN he was 100% absolutely right about that beyond any doubt. In fact, I have very carefully and delicately asked numerous college "phycology majors" why they chose that field to focus upon, and BINGO folks would be completely shocked to learn that many freely admit that it was because they knew that they had mental health issues of all kinds and levels themselves~! Good grief~! In other words, many of these Individuals are in fact "Bat shit crazy" and they know it, AND they feel that they can help people~!!! Geee, I wonder what could go wrong there??? Oh, for corn's sake :-() Well, there are very clearly many with mental health issues these days, and if an Individual isn't born with them, they stand a pretty good chance of developing mental health issues in this screwed up society (country & world). This is of course being very clearly Intentionally exasperated by the criminals of humanity, because the greater the numbers of terribly confused and emotionally hysterical mentally ill people, the easier they are to control and make them do their bidding. That FULLY explains why there is still a small number of lunatics who are voting for Democrat and RINO politicians~! Thank God the majority of Americans (and folks all over the world) have not succumbed to the evil contamination and mental pressures of the criminals of humanity, so they still value their Individual freedom and rights~!!! This oldest war against humanity has FINALLY failed and perhaps for the last and final time in history my friend~! IF successful, and I can see an excellent chance that it will be this time, humanity sure does look like it will FINALLY break the chains of the old Brainwashing machine of the Luciferians (The real worshippers of Satan = Lucifer) ~!!! It won't be without pain and suffering, but I believe that "we" (Patriots) are getting close to the end game for the criminals of humanity~! Nothing is more important for any of us right here & now, so keep up the great work and stay healthy & prepared just in case~! Enjoy every day~!!!
