The Tribe strives for self reliance. 85 million in revenue should be enough to take care of the 300 Tribal members living in this County. No friggin way. There just getting started. How do you like your property taxes lately? The tribe is shrinking the tax base and nobody is noticing. Trojan horse. Folks, the graduating class at Sequim High plus a couple of Juniors is how many Tribe members reside in our County and it’s numbers are shrinking. Public grant money is paying for the Tribes Land Consolidation Plan (Reservation). That’s illegal. DNR et al.are giving hundreds of acres of public land to a Sovereign Nation without any public debate. Remember all of this for 300 or so tribe members. Really? Yes really. Ok. Be sovereign. You’re officially self reliant. Stop asking for money. Your proud people remember? Act like it.
Dale Russell IMO the "Oppression Olympics" seem to be secular event. I don't yet understand what motivates the event. I think though that population size was important in the past but the equation is more complicated because it involves a complicated chess match and I flunked checkers.
What motivates the Oppression Olympics? Money (usually taxpayer money diverted to a "worthy cause", how dare you question the use of the tax money for XYZ NGO?) and power, when it leads to control of the local, regional or state government, as we are seeing here on our own doorstep in Port Angeles, Sequim and Clallam County.
Perhaps an off-topic comment, but this article points out the power the tribe has, not just with local, state, and federal politicians -- including the Clallam County commissioners -- but also with many of the general public who have been hornswoggled into the guilt camp that believes non-tribal members "owe" various tribes something for perceived past wrongs. Chairman Allen understands that this political power and "guilt" translates into obtaining great benefits for JKT. Remember this when election time draws near, and this combination of tribal influence and guilt among the "useful idiots" of the general public combines to try and ensure that a candidate that does not automatically buy into the guilt trip game and cannot be bought like Jake Seegers can never be elected.
There are many simple minded people in C.C. for R.Allen to brainwash and in the state capital.Federal govt really needs to look into JST holdings and have a legit audit on how tax $$$ has been spent. Then look into and try and understand how and why the gillnetting practice still continues to decimate salmon stocks while the fed govt continues to support it.
UFO, unfortunately in most instances the Federal Government can't look into JST holdings or audit them. Why? They are sovereign nation living off the tit of another Sovereign nation. The only recourse is to change the treaty obligations written a long time ago and question how the 14th amendment applies.
Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment provides that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
Jennifer, that statement provides an interesting legal argument. The logic seems correct. If these tribes view themselves as a foreign entity they should receive that status. So if the Jamestown Tribe desired foreign status at 13 acres it would become the smallest nation in the world.
Did the indigenous peoples of the PNW ever use gillnetting before the invention of monofilament line. I am trying to envision netting made out of cedar bark or similar. I think not. Let them go back to whatever method they used 200 years ago. Much better for the salmon population.
Dale Russell, that point is a very interesting one I had not considered. I doubt if any "Indigenous Person" living today wishes Christopher Columbus had ignored this continent. Would Sitting Bull have invented electricity or a smart phone? The civilization was lateral.
Not to mention clean water, indoor plumbing, gas or electric stoves. HVAC, the steam engine, internal combustion engine, railroads, the automobile, asphalt, concrete, etc. By all means let them revert to the life they were living before the arrival of the evil Europeans.
I agree UFOCCWD. I was brainwashed but I cannot remember the exact date because it was subtle. It seemed to occur in elementary school, TV, Film, high school, college and our political and legal systems of government. My experience indicated the opposite of what I was told.
Robert, IMO you have described our current political situation perfectly. After several decades of paying federal taxes my former guilt has been transferred into anger. My observations of human nature lead me to believe that the "useful idiots" wish to promote the "useless idiots".
I really appreciate all of your time and effort to collect the information you report in your posts, Jeff. People in our County are not happy with "business as usual" around her. As Joe Smith shared at yesterday's BoCC meeting, many, many locals are very upset with how the Lions Gate Habitat for Humanity project was (not) bid out and contracted. Little whispers are adding up to loud voices rejecting the status quo way of life up here. Great to see so many citizens engaged!
2. INCREASE FUNDING FOR YOUR TRIBE. Many federal grants available to Tribes depend upon census and other population statistics identifying numbers of tribal members. The larger a tribe's citizenship, the greater potential it has for obtaining increased funding for services.

Open to all Tribal Citizens Agenda includes discussion of enrollment criteria
Where’s Ron Allen’s “greetings fellow citizens”? All other past newsletters had the CEO’s personal greetings and updates. Not only did the Jamestown Newsletter go covert, so did Ron.
Open up the buffet line for a meeting and everyone is cool with the Corporation trying to bamboozle the members to figure out how to increase the roles despite not truly sharing in the Corporations wealth. I wonder how many members actually show up for these events put off by the appearance of caring?
MK, this announcement is different from the rest that are advertised. It's *Special* Two years ago when they announced their website "is currently under construct" (what construction takes that long?) they would have their General Citizenship meetings.
Just before the "construction" began, LaTrisha Suggs had an article on how they needed to increase enrollment. I was wondering about that then and figured they would drop the percentage of blood quantum. I know the present enrollment has a high percentage of senior citizens. Anyways, Ron Allen doesn't care about the people, unless the people come with a price tag.
Tribal nations take many different approaches to citizenship. Many tribes
require their members to have a certain blood percentage, or blood quantum. Some require that blood quantum match the specific tribe, while others simply require a blood quantum of Indian descent. Membership determinations in other tribes is based on lineal descent, or matrilineal or patrilineal descent.
A good friend of mine was “adopted” by Jamestown many years ago. Her home tribe was from back east and never quite able to be verified. She is native though.
Cindy, Sincerely, I'm glad for your friend. In fact one of the BIG benefits of native membership is health care coverage. Who else can afford it unless you work for a big company that offers it? We should all be entitled to the same privileges. My son had to declare bankruptcy because of no coverage. He worked. But the bills were so out of site, he could not have recovered otherwise.
I might sound like I'm anti native, far from it. I worked in the IHS (Indian Health Care Services) for over 20 years. Found and retained many friends. I feel Ron Allen isn't serving his community nor the local community on a fair basis. Everything to him is a barcode to build an Empire, not to build harmony and equality.
I believe there’s a lot more to this big Quilcene River Bridge project than what is known to the public. Opening ceremony was by invitation only! I don’t think the general Quilcene community knew that Jamestown was involved until the bulldozers came in. Because it appeared a few years ago, that the salmon coalition was restoring the area after the houses were removed. The destruction now, that has happened on both sides of the river, is disgusting. They’ve built channels for the flood plane and literally pumped water from the river into those channels. It’s not natural, but we’ll see this winter where the river decides to flow because the river itself has been moved. And to answer Jeff’s question, yes it’s a dead end road. It goes out to Herb Beck marina. A very small marina. There’s also a sign at Quilcene school that reads “This school is on Twana land” It doesn’t even say Ancestral! When I ask the principal about having the word “Ancestral” added to that sign, he told me he would have to consult with the Native American coordinator?!
The Clallam tribe, formally their name before Ron had it legally changed, is not the same S’klallam tribe that signed the treaty. Those were Indians from Tulalup area. If you read the history of the port gamble tribe and the Jamestown tribe, they are very similar…they refused to moved and pooled their gold coins together to buy land.( But claim the white man forced them to relocate to the reserve and burning their villages off port Townsend and port gamble?) They claim that they ceded land from Forks to Port Townsend but they weren’t involved in the treaty so I don’t know how they came to that conclusion.
Jamestown also took over the Twana state park with the help of Jefferson land trust and changed the name of the Sequim football field to a name that can’t be pronounced.
And when did they dig and bury sewer and water pipes from Blyn to Sequim to join the city’s utilities? It was 2 million cheaper than building their own? When did they start caring about prices? I just read about a water and sewer bill of sale near the healing center also. What is going on with our town and a nation that doesn’t pay their fair share.. actually they keep what isn’t theirs through gas, cigarettes and alcohol taxes they collect and keep, meant for our community… but hate the white man and call us guests.
The city of Sequim allowed them to include their version of history on their website. On the front page you can read about the city thanking them for allowing us to live here and then click on the tribes name and read a ridiculous account of how bad the white man is.
The definition of a native is someone born in a certain area.
A pic of the Tamanowas park they own now.
These buttons are sold at the Quilcene store that a Jefferson county commissioner owns and is a tribal member.
I wonder what would happen if some concerned folks "visited" (criminally trespassed on) the "Twana Bridge" location to destroy the survey markers and all of the various "signs" indicating that the local tribe was somehow involved in the project, while videotaping themselves and confessing to their criminal acts~? Would the Jefferson County government clown show, and the "Three Stooges" Clallam County Commissioners find that to be "fun" and a legitimately legal rightful act to make a point for positive "change"~? Would the corrupt criminals in the various local "legal systems" refuse to criminally prosecute anyone who did such a thing? What would happen if the Sequim Food Bank suddenly enforced a "White people ONLY" policy, that specifically excluded ALL folks of so-called "color"? Of course, including a mandatory DNA "anal swab test" to make sure that no one with any amount of "a prohibited color" could sneak in to get ANY food just because they were hungry~! I understand that the few folks of the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe don't dare to challenge their tribal government because they are completely enslaved and they do not have the guts to do so. but they are by default supporting an extremely racist policy against all White folks and I find that to be utterly reprehensible! How about Ron Allen and his hateful racist family members who are supposedly 80% White? Do they only qualify for 20% of the free food from the Indian food bank??? They could obviously lose a lot of blubber from the looks of them, starting from their heads down~! Where do these criminals get the idea that they have any freedom or rights that no one else gets??? Most folks in our community have nothing against the local American Indian folks, UNLESS they are abused by them and then they have every right to oppose being abused! Only an idiot encourages & rewards bad and criminal behavior from anyone~!
I like the 80%/20% question, Michael. PT store owners display signs in their stores supporting and welcoming illegal alien families. Why not just have a sign stating all are welcome to shop here? So vain.
As an old American Constitutionalist, I am, and always have been, one of the true supporters of American Indians and completely against what was done to them by the criminals in the US government of the past! Of course, that had nothing to do with you, me, or anyone alive today, because ALL of the previous atrocities against the American Indians back then were committed by the criminal goons in government management that had tragic problems comprehending simple English language like "All Men (and women) are created equal"~! I admire Port Townsend City for its old architecture and history to some degree, however there is something terribly mentally wrong with the vast majority of people who live there. The corrupt corporate dynamic has very clearly existed in PT for a long time, as the population has become "infected" with criminally corrupt socialist/communist scumbags who have had very easy access by the regular ferry runs that have funneled all sorts of deficient city nuts from the mainland... It is like a highway from Hell that attracts lunatics and delivers treasonous scumbags to the Peninsula on a regular schedule, otherwise "we" would be FAR better insulated from the contamination of the sickness of the big city types. HA~! Thanks for the information, because we have not bothered with Port Townsend for years due to it becoming so unpleasant to visit. If I saw a sign "welcoming illegal alien criminals" posted on any business I would immediately refuse to do any business there because I am prohibited from knowingly supporting unconstitutional and anti-constitutional people in any way~! You are absolutely correct, a sign that "welcomes illegal alien criminals" is without any doubt intentionally "NOT welcoming" all other folks at the same time... Most of those businesses will hurt their own business and these days that can easily result in a disaster for them. On another note, my wife was working at the PT hospital about 4 1/2 years ago when she was brutally fired and had her career attacked by the criminally corrupt hospital administration and at least one corrupt doctor there for doing her duty to protect her patients from the COVID genocide and especially the obviously deadly vaccines! She was one of the best of the best in ultrasound diagnostics in the world, no kidding, so I STRONGLY recommend that folks stay well away from that hospital and the entire medical system there because they were definitely playing a very clear role in harming and killing their patients~! So, when you see the anti-American signs posted on businesses in PT, do keep in mind that the same "type" of dangerous people also works at the hospital and probably every other business in that vicinity~! There are even some real dangerous nut jobs who live in the surrounding area as well, so it is not just within the PT city limits~! Unfortunately, we all need to be careful who we deal with these days, because there really are a LOT of very dangerous people out there~!
Great public comments from Mark Curtis & Terri DiMartino!
Quick thought on Ozias’s mention about WSAC and indigent defense funds. It’s great that they want the state to pay more to take the burden off the county, but what is getting missed is where does the state get the money from — taxpayers.
So, if it’s not the county paying for indigent defense it will still be the people paying for it. Maybe it means higher licensing fees for attorneys which will get passed into indigent defense funds, which also gets passed to clients when rates go up and counties/cities who contract with those attorneys. I’m sure Washington State bureaucrats will find many creative ways to pass the expense back to the people because that is all they know how to do.
Do just plain humans exist anymore ? BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ, ( no + in this case ). Surely there are more alphabet soup descriptors for under reprepresented, made up minority groupings. So we are no longer members of the human race. We must all be Indian, Asian, black, Hispanic, Native or perhaps the cursed Caucasian. If skin color and/or ancestry does not earn you an acronym, then some derivation of sexual deviancy might. Praise for Robert's comment about useful idiots. Those idiots that wave flags for and give land and money in all imaginable forms to dead people. If there exists any people on the planet who have been assimilated into a civilization, it is USA tribes. In my effort to join the idiots I honor the revered ancient ancestral ceremonial practice of operating casinos.
Nobody has received more free tax support $$$ than native indians which all comes from people that had to work. Now this free $$$ is being abused by some tribes because of ignorant elected not standing up to the con artist begging for more $$$.
Question: is this very fine new bridge within the "map od dreams" to take over the historical roaming lands of the Tribe? It's nice to know that there will be a solid new bridge to make land-grabbing worth it and easier.
Jeff, your question as to "why was a Clallam County tribe the lead force behind a major Jefferson County transportation project?" is easily answered. The Jamestown Tribe's plan (that the gifts of the DNWR and PINWR to the Jamestown Tribe are a part of) is to take jurisdiction "over the individuals and the taxation" in most of Clallam and Jefferson Counties east of Ennis creek in Port Angeles. The people of Clallam and Jefferson County, and Congress Person Emily Randall, need to recognize this threat to our democracy, to the equal protection of the laws, and to one person, one vote, and put an end to such an extreme goal.
The reality is if they started installing the JCL fixed meandering coil and building bridges where we need them instead of where we don't, the return on everybody's money would be astronomical in the form of silvers and kings.
Id wash Ron's car if he ever pulled JKT Randy Johnson's head out of his ass.
I am thankful the JKT is in the mood for building bridges for culverts. Clallam County needs about 50 of them if we are ever going to get wild silvers and kings back on a consistent basis..
That's a great way for them to pay back the Clallam County tax payers that got soaked for their Towne Road fiasco.
Oppression is a lucrative business, for those who demand to being seen that way.
The Olympics occur only once every 4 years, but the Oppression Olympics are a year round event. Who is on top this time? Who checks the most boxes?

WHAT'S IN RON'S WALLET?
Tribal nations take many different approaches to citizenship. Many tribes

Might it be that in the long game - that the tribe wants all of Clallam County in its domain?
Meanwhile some tribes are disenrolling in the State of Washington! Don't figger!
I believe there’s a lot more to this big Quilcene River Bridge project than what is known to the public. Opening ceremony was by invitation only! M.O. laughed at her. Disgusting!!
Because he thinks she's a conduit to CCWD.
I am a SSRRHMBCS. People (humans?) just ignore me...but I do pay my taxes and vote...
Vote! VOTE THE WEDGE VOTE JAKE!
Someone rewrite Johnny Cash's song about building it one piece at a time.
The reality is if they started installing the JCL fixed meandering coil and building bridges where we need them instead of where we don't, the return on everybody's money would be astronomical in the form of silvers and kings.
Id wash Ron's car if he ever pulled JKT Randy Johnson's head out of his ass.
John, I'd wax and buff it.
He is going to have to get a climate migrant for that...
Amazing what proctologists find at an exam!
If my memory recalls a father and son got arrested by the Port Gamble tribe for hunting elk in Brinnon. Who's turf is it?
I am thankful the JKT is in the mood for building bridges for culverts. Clallam County needs about 50 of them if we are ever going to get wild silvers and kings back on a consistent basis..
That's a great way for them to pay back the Clallam County tax payers that got soaked for their Towne Road fiasco.
If you can buy local elected government officials ,buying neighboring ones appears to be easy as well as long as you have plenty of campaign wampum.
