There is so much to take in. You'll need a shot of whiskey with your morning coffee just to calm down. Wow, are we ever in for a battle to stave off the avalanche of spending!

After your shot of whiskey you better hit the 'power ball or mega lottery to survive in clallam county with the mass tax increases coming if ozias, french, johnson get re elected, actually you may need winning ticket before elections.

I'll drink to that.

Jeff, that legally allows me 2 shots of whiskey and a beer backer before noon because my 1/4th Irish blood quantum excuses it. My 1/8th English blood quantum will try to adjust to going back to the feudal system of serf taxation. The rest of my blood will boil.

I obtained way more than 45 signatures yesterday. By the time I went home I had 80 signatures & I’m not finished yet. People are on fire for this! After a certain point, I stopped circulating because people were seeking me out so they could sign. This $5 fee business is a hot topic 🔥

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

I'm so proud, but far from surprised. You have the perfect personality for this. Thank you for your work yesterday.

Kirsten's avatar

I believe I can get all 99 signatures by myself. Add everyone else out there engaging w/ the public- it’s gonna be a landslide & I’m so proud to be a part of it

Maybe a silly question, but i know there is some sketch to it.

More importantly, City residents are rumored to drink water and breathe air.

But, but who Told them they could do that?!

thanks for the laughs on here guys.

We need to remember to laugh.

Cause it is really shitty.

😁

Kirsten's avatar

🤣🤣🤣 stop! You’re killin’ me, Smalls!! 🤣🤣🤣

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

Yes, City residents also vote for our County commissioners and they will be paying the fee as well.

Teresa's avatar

What verbiage are you using, what are they saying?

Kirsten's avatar

“We are petitioning our three county commissioners to reject the Clallam conservation districts $5 per parcel fee being added onto everyone’s property taxes.” I’ve also gone so far as to explain that the CCD is the agency responsible for back hoeing through properties w/o proper easements or property owner knowledge so they can pressurize pipe all the irrigation ditches in the county. Others have felt they couldn’t sign because they aren’t property owners. THEY ARE JUST AS AFFECTED BY THIS PARCEL FEE AS THE PROPERTY OWNERS THEY RENT FROM. These fee increases affect all residents, property owner or not. When taxes are raised, rents are raised. It’s driving people out of the area- families, retirees, small businesses & the like. Make your own spin on all that or use my words verbatim- just get them to sign

Kirsten's avatar

Also people have said to me that ‘it’s only $5’

Well, on top of the school levy & fire district levy, trying to raise the 1% cap to 3%, it goes on & on infinitum- I think Jeff said it best, “it’s death by a thousand cuts”

HOWEVER YOU WANT TO SELL THIS, IT SELLS ITSELF IF YOU JUST LAY OUT THE FACTS

As long as i can remember and wherever I've lived the LWV has been anything but non-partisian. IMHO, that's a lie. Pictures from the Labor Day protest on Washington St. pretty much prove that. And on the protest...i saw a bunch of signs at the protest that said 'RESIST' but didnt say what...and used the term FACIST. I'll bet most of the people holding the sign FACIST couldn't define it. Reminded me of the '60s hippies who showed up to protests for the party and really had no idea what the organisers were trying to accomplish. It's really about power and the elites, Democrats, lost it at the last election. And don't know what to do. Their solution...let's gather the sheep and have a protest! Protest what soneone asks? Doesn't matter. As long as our voices are heard...and the party is fun!

Denise Lapio's avatar

I have to belly laugh at these protesting fools. They paint Trump as a Putin puppet, yet their communist ideology dictates that Putin is the LWV's (and the Leftists') super hero. They really are sheep being led to the Tarpeian Cliff.

John Worthington's avatar

They stick out like sore thumbs. They still wear masks and believe in the covid lie.

Jennifer's avatar

Harold, I hope I don't offend anyone, but your analogy of the "'60s hippies who showed up to protests for the party and really had no idea what the organisers were trying to accomplish" reminds me of the joke, What do you get when you cross an atheist with a Jehovah Witness? Jennifer, thank you for the laugh. The “Water Steward” scheme opened up again is making me crazy! How is it that drought needs to be addressed but the development of 600 homes by John Wayne won’t have an impact? Can both of those things be true?

Then the tribe and their geoduck harvest. You know our state leases the sea floors . The damage done by planting and harvesting destroys all eel grass and nurseries for crab and other sea floors dwellings animals. All this time I was mad at Taylor Shellfish, who knew the tribe has an active ecological hand in sea floors and animals destruction. Congrats, they are modeling environmental protection bc after all they have cared for the earth a long time.

Oh no, I’m sea sick, that always happens when I read such hypocrisy.🤮

Jennifer's avatar

Susan, they also want to save the fish, but harvest and sell WAY more than anyone else which is contributing to decreased #'s, starving our sea creatures including whales ( Makah Tribe are allowed 3 a year) for meat they do not need, under a tribal facade they call heritage (using present day vicious methods of running them down with advanced boats and weaponry)

We know there is no drought. I moved here from Phx Az (now there's a drought, it's a desert for God's sakes!) and watched the water wars there! "Water Steward" is just the beginning. Owning "Water Works" in the game of Monopoly will allow the tribe to continue to take over the rest of the board called Clallam County.

The DRMT and CCD need to record their meetings and archive them for the public.

One of CCW's best feature is the network of local citizens it has created to tune into Jeff's latest work and the open dialogue it contains . Now I have a place to go to present things I have observed and information I have obtained.

Our local leaders now have so many more problems than they had before, because of Jeff's exposure..They used to be able to hide from this stuff.

Now, they have people learning everything there is to know about their local government..

It has taken a long time to go into the local govement rabbit hole and figure out what when and where. Its nice to be able to have a place to present what you have found to your neighbors and community.

Thank you, Jeff! After reading notes from CRC Water Committee meetings, the path to formalizing a Water Steward Department is exactly how you laid it out here, Jeff. By Comm. Ozias being on all these NGO and Non-profit boards and committees, he can help craft it's development for presentation to the BoCC and the public. He's been doing this for years, which means we have to keep digging and pursuing these issues. Driving around yesterday through Sunland and over to Sophie’s vegetable stand I wondered why communities aren’t HOPPING MAD about another yearly $5 fee per parcel and more fees to the farming properties to support CCD? I’ll bet no one in Sunland has used CCD’s services & the farms I know of have their own resources. Retirement communities such as Sunland are struggling as it is and the agricultural farms are squeeking by to make ends meet without raising prices. These communities throughout the county don’t need added fees with all the other cost of goods and services.

Note: 2 farms down from hundreds. The farms can dig their own local reservoir to provide their necessary water or sink additional wells. Again the county residents should not have to pay for building a water reservoir when we have plenty according to the city of Sequim. City of Sequim says there is no water problem when it comes to building more and more homes. Which is it, cause you can’t have it both ways?

Think about all the people in the county who will not directly benefit from a Dungeness reservoir, West end, PA has their own water problems a Dungeness reservoir won’t solve. It’s all about control, they control the water they control us.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

Remember the talks by developer Casey Roloff of Seabrook. He said that traffic in and out of the area by John Wayne wouldn’t be affected bc a roundabout had been approved. (Just exactly where he needed it) Also no water issues here! Sequim gave him stats that showed we over flow with excess water. How can two opposite facts exist together?

Liars and damn liars.

Who keeps enabling this developer, please raise your hand and show us the money that you have received for being a good helper.

Here’s the problem, the majority of citizens haven’t had the money to throw at any problem that came along or the know how to control tax payer money to cover expenses. Welcome to Clallam County.

Chris Clark's avatar

Exactly and I’ve been saying that all along. As for farms, I’m not a big one but I do homestead. I don’t go to CCD, I’ve been taught by the old timers and now I’m the one teaching my kids and grandkids.

To much government control on our property is not a good thing. NEVER FORGET WE THE PEOPLE OWN THE GOVERNMENT NOT THEM OWNING US!

Michael Heath's avatar

Thank you Jeff Tozzer for another great summary of a number of important current issues facing the good folks of Clallam County (and beyond). I always laugh at the "communists" like crazy Tim Wheeler who constantly gas light the impressionable weak-minded people by blaming the evil destruction that THEY have done and continue to do to America, on the best Americans who have always been the Constitutional backbone of America. I am DEEPLY offended by the suggestion that "rural America/Americans" had anything to do with the KKK, domestic terrorism, or real bigotry, however anyone with basic knowledge of true American history knows that it was the evil "socialist/communist" thinking Individuals who REALLY founded the KKK, are the REAL domestic terrorists, and who are the true bigots and haters who have infested America. I am sure that there are still people who don't know that it was the "Democrat party" who formed, founded, and funded the KKK in America, likely with the "fake & phony Republicans and others" of that sad time in our history~! I can't remember any time when the good folks in rural America engaged in "domestic terrorism", unless we are to claim that the American Revolutionary War was full of rural Individuals who heroically denied that a British King should oppress and brutally dominate "The Colonies" without representation~! While many Americans have their own opinions on folks of different races, usually based upon their Individual life experiences, I have found that most of the REAL bigots were Democrats & RINOs who lived in the cities. If anyone wants to experience a State in the US that has a LOT of hateful bigots, I will invite them to live & work in Hawaii, but they need to be a male of White ancestry to REALLY get the true picture there~! For those who are ignorant of the political reality in Hawaii, it has been absolutely dominated by Democrat voters for a great many decades (if not since it became a state). While I know many democrat voters who LOVE "enslaving" illegal immigrants because they want inexpensive produce, cheap work on their yards, and renters who are terrified of missing a rental payment on one of their rental properties, I can't say that I have ever met anyone who lived in rural America who would go out of their way to do harm to anyone just because of their racial makeup... The only people that I have seen who are the REAL hateful bigots, have always been the ones who constantly focus on racism and bring up the subject of racism all of the time. These people are mostly politicians and their useful idiots who never quit inflaming racism and dividing Americans against each other. Americas REAL problem is these people who always bring the subject of racism up. when most Americans are really "live & let live" minded folks...

My only other comment on this excellent article is that "puppy mills" that violate the basic breeding and care standards that the good folks abide by who want to breed animals because they are competent and passionate about it, always give the good folks a bad and underserved reputation. This always creates the worst kinds of problems for the very animals who need to find good loving homes because the hysterical emotional people always want to destroy everything good along with the problems. So, it is completely unfair to destroy the good folks who breed and raise animals, because of the rotten apples who should be prevented from being in the business. I do hope that the good folks in America can soon see how they are always under attack because of the failures and bad destructive actions of the few, just because "we" (society) allow ourselves to overreact foolishly to the hysterical emotional nut jobs~! Sincerely, Mike

Robert James's avatar

I agree about Hawaii, having spent a couple Winters there Kauai and Maui.

The locals hate the 'Haoulis' in part because the Dole brothers along with a cabal of wealthy businessmen and lawyers and the 'presence' of the U.S. Military executed a coup in '1893'?

The 'factions' are always given bi-partisan support by the 'men behind the curtain' and now thanks to feminism, we have the 'Killary's' and 'Kamala-toes' also in the mix...nothing quite as scary as a fascist woman!😱😊

It's a global problem but we can only create a local solution.

Cross my heart and hope they die...the next time they...tell us a lie!😎

Michael Heath's avatar

HA! HA! HA!

Right you are Patriot Robert James~!

We lived on The Big Island for three years and you are very correct that most Hawaiians HATE White people, especially men~! Yes, you know your history and how the criminals in the US Federal Government "flooded" Hawaii with all sorts of Americans, and especially US Military service members, who voted for Hawaii to become a Territory and later a State, which was probably NOT what most REAL native Hawaiians really wanted back then. The schools in Hawaii actually foment the hatred of ALL White people, which goes to show you just how stupid the bigots there really are! One Ironic thing is that as American Constitutionalists and folks with some American Indian ancestry, my wife and I both were completely on the Hawaiian's side, so the bigots were just screwing themselves by their own foolish hate. They lose a LOT of highly talented people that way. Another thing that I used to tell the short-sighted idiots was that if the corrupt US government hadn't made Hawaii a Territory when it did, the Japanese would have taken over all of the islands and murdered ALL of the Hawaiians except for the few women they would have kept alive as prostitutes and the men that they would have enslaved for labor until they were no longer needed, exactly as the Japanese did all over the Pacific Rim where they invaded before & during WWII~! HA~! You should have seen the look on the bigots faces when I told them that my friend~! Funny~! Well, another thing is that of ALL the cultures on earth I studied the Hawaiians very closely and I could never find a single Invention or contribution that ANY Hawaiian ever made that was notable. Maybe Don Ho, but music sure does not count, especially compared to all of the other great Inventions and contributions that just about every other culture on earth brought into the world for the past several thousand years! Anyway, the US Military style signaling that I have been reading for a few years now is very clear that Hawaii is supposed to be scheduled to be cut out of the US and returned to the Hawaiian people as their sovereign country again~! There is already a sizable amount of Gold in trust for that when the dust settles from this old nasty war. I am TOTALLY in favor of the Hawaiians being cut loose from America because "we" (America) no longer need all of the Hawaiian Islands for security purposes and we waste countless billions of dollars supporting the economy there that we could better spend elsewhere. I am absolutely sure that if the Hawaiians do get their sovereign country back, that they will of course screw everything up and it will be a disaster not long after they receive their Independence because I have seen and experienced the socialist/communist/democrat Hell that is Hawaii, and I know my law & economics~! Since most Hawaiians hate the average White American and obviously don't want "us" there, they can have their country and deal with it~! It definitely won't work out the way they think, because freedom is NOT for unintelligent and lazy people (as we here in America have SO clearly seen over the past decades ;-) I wish them well because I know that there are some good Hawaiians, but they need to travel their own path... Have a fun day~! Sincerely, Mike

Go to the Dungeness Creamery.

Take the family for Ice Cream & to pet baby beef.

And for the love of ALL that is HOLY,

Please DRINK your RAW milk from the cows.💥

Robert James's avatar

I was there a few Summers ago. Thankfully no one around.

One of the 'death petting zoo pens' (veal pens) had a dead calf laying there in the hot afternoon sun. Another calf was chewing on the metal fencing, starving and lonely, brutally starved to make those wonderful cutlets!

They feed those cows 28 POUNDS of GMO grain each day to boost milk, fat, protein production and keep them CONSTANTLY pregnant to ensure steady output!

They are not different than main-stream dairies in most regards.

The green pasture they enjoy seasonally is as natural as it gets for the milk-slaves.

Enjoy your RAW-UNORGANIC local dairy products!

Teresa's avatar

Robert-

I can assure you.

There is no dead calf now.

Go support LOCAL or move, my opinion.

Help them rebuild, without GOV funding.

Right?

Where is the solution?

Find solutions.

Robert James's avatar

We have to disagree on this one. The communists already have full control over the future of that dairy with the 'conservation' 'land agreements', they are fully compromised. And inhumane!😎

Teresa's avatar

Again,

no solution.

And, the last time I checked “Nothing” is within a workable budget these days.

Raw milk can be affordable based on lifestyle, nutrition and common sense.

However, agree to disagree, fare enough.

Next time I go to “Dungeness Valley Creamery”, I will ask them about the allegations you proposed here.

If true, I will ask them what measures they have taken to clean up their act, then report back.

Thanks for the info.

😊

Robert James's avatar

Good dialogue. I want wholesome, natural, real food too.

I saw a video of a guy who was dairying in high country, I think Colorado...he had it worked out to make cheese as the main retail product they produced and was making a living and covering the expenses taking only the milk they needed for cheese, leaving the rest to the calves... and it was working.

They were doing some slaughtering/butchering (humanely) for their own food and raised beef, not veal...quite a different thing.

I want what you want. I do have potential answers but the market economy doesn't like small-scale operations...we can't feed 8 billion with farm-to-market economies...so we are stuck with the system we have until we are not.

The biggest problem we have in CC, is we have NO say in how things go...for that I have hinted at solutions...ones which no one wants to contemplate...something big has to happen...the next pandemic is going to have a bigger impact than the last...wars, etc.

It is a sad thing but it is what it is! Sorry if I stepped on a 'sacred cow'.🐄😊
