Jeff, this roundup collectively tells me that a "progressive" agenda dominates the Clallam and Jefferson counties political landscape. The track record of such governance is obvious to anyone paying attention -- higher taxes for the working folk, declining educational outcomes, and Looney Tunes-esque craziness. As for Mark Ozias, as a public employee, in any sane business world his lack of transparency re: his whereabouts on a work day and what he accomplished on that day should result in serious disciplinary action. But of course, it won't -- at least not until election time, one hopes. Thanks for keeping the folk abreast on issues the local media can't, or won't, cover.

It’s sad to say that PA middle school has better numbers than Fork’s Middle School. I sat in the school board meeting with the 2024/2025 school year report and our kiddos are 70% NOT meeting standards! So when I heard that PA had 30% NOT meeting standards I had to do a double take, because we were presented 30% as well, but it was the percentage of kiddos meeting standards. Wow, what an eye opener on the disparities within our county. Not to mention how DATA (that’s for you @JeffTozzer) is presented impacts the narrative positively or negatively.

It’s interesting that OMC board candidate Laurie Force wants to protect gender-affirming care. My understanding is that OMC does not provide it in the first place.

My vote will be going to Dr. Carleen Bensen, an Army veteran with many years of service to OMC as a urologist and surgeon, recently retired. Her common sense, discernment and critical thinking are needed on the OMC board.

Hmm, someone from within who has seen the problems vs someone from the outside who doesn't even know that OMC doesn't and can't provide gender affirming care.

You'd think this should be an easy win for Dr. Bensen...

Challenger Marolee Smith Dvorak is running against Mayor Dexter. One wants to exacerbate our county in crisis, the other wants to alleviate our county in crisis. Who would you vote for?

Quotes are copied from 8/5/25 Primary Voters’ Pamphlet.

STATEMENT MAROLEE “MIMI”...”Changes made by our local city government seem arbitrary - with no thought to the citizen’s needs or desires...You are not represented if your voice is not heard...Who is listened to? The taxpayers? Or expensive, never-ending consultants and NGO’s?...Why is the council’s first public comment limited to “agenda items only”?...All city councils, everywhere, have a fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of the constituents...I promise, I care”

STATEMENT KATE DEXTER...”During these turbulent times, we need thoughtful, steady leadership...when Port Angeles led with policies that helped struggling households and businesses...I’ve provided a space for respectful discourse, where everyone has the opportunity to speak and be heard...I support programs such as REdisCOVERY, Community Paramedicine, and Operation Shielding Hope...I look forward to Continuing the important work that we have begun...I humbly ask for your vote.”

Hey Kate.

What are "these turbulent times?"

Life is turbulent, you're just talking the same gibberish as Suggs hoping that people don't have to a brain and can discern the disparity between words and reality. And I'm unclear what policies you've championed for businesses that have resulted in a thriving town.

I don't believe you because under your leadership the city isn't doing better.
