One should always keep one's head on a swivel in today's Alice in Wonderland society, where once frowned upon and dangerous activities (public drug use, vagrancy, petty crime, etc.) are now tolerated. And where you cannot trust legacy media to keep you honestly informed. As the saying goes, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. This is where new media like CC Watchdog shine. Thank you, Jeff!

Lol. Thanks my head is constantly on a swivel but if law enforcement cannot protect me why should I pay any taxes? I also thank Jeff. My fiance adores Jeff.

Not much to say beyond "Thank you for the alert, Jeff".

I wish that more women took a proactive approach to self-defense-- some basic karate/judo/etc moves, perhaps firearm training, even carrying a readily-available knife. Women may be the weaker gender, but that doesn't mean they should be helpless. Learn to fight back if attacked.

Don't wait to be attacked. If you establish eye contact with a stranger longer than 75 seconds aggression is very likely.

I agree that more people should use that site to know their surroundings. I decided seven years ago (when my daughter was born) that I wouldn't look to see what predator was living in my neighborhood - but rather make it my job to be aware and ready at all times. I'm definitely a helicopter mom (albeit one with a Glock) and I think it's important to never let your guard down. That being said.... I implore everyone to use the resources available to know whats going on. My stomach can't handle that s**t, but I'm grateful for the people that can. Thank you so much 🙏🏻

Great information Jeff! This is not the world we were raised in and as such EVERYONE should always be aware of their surroundings at all times and if your not a 2A fan at least cary a Byrna non lethal self defense pepper ball/tear gas launcher. You never know when you'll need those few extra seconds to get to safety.

Broken record here, but it’s shocking to see and hear how this place has changed. Back in the day, or century of a lifetime in this one town, it’s still easy to feel safe. But the reality is it’s not necessarily so safe. Couple that with a failure of those tasked with keeping the public safe, and those whose publications refuse to report it, the need for the community to “block watch” and put pressure on the judges and law enforcement to do their jobs that taxpayers are forced to pay with no ability to hold them personally accountable.

So, your relentless insistence to drag the failure of our elected officials and enforcement agents is imperative! I say if you’re reading this and not spreading the word you’re not doing your part

Regarding the phone system maintenance, the current price is reasonable for maintaining the legacy system, not for the phone bill itself. There is a local company based in Port Angeles, (not Astound they are not local owned), that handles phone systems for Jefferson Healthcare, Jefferson County, City of Port Townsend, and many others, potentially saving thousands of dollars. For example, Jefferson Healthcare, with nearly 1,000 seats, has a monthly cost of just under $20,000, which includes all phone numbers, long-distance, and system maintenance. Switching to this local company significantly reduced their overall phone bill. Jefferson County had a similar experience after switching from an out-of-town company. Choosing this local company would not only save taxpayer money but also boost the local economy by supporting family-wage jobs. The current maintenance agreement for Clallam County might also be with a local company. I recommend that the county consult with the entities mentioned above and consider reaching out to this local company, as keeping tax money within the local economy is beneficial. (Full disclosure: I own this local company, but the point is they are spending too much and the money isn't staying local)

Great information; thank you. Perhaps unfair, but I agree that the vulnerable should be trained, aware and mindful with information like this. Sorry for this digression, but in the booking example race was noted and it was noted as black. It immediately rings up two questions for me. First; does race matter ? Second; is black a race ? It is a wonder how we relegate ourselves to this incorrect and polarizing categorization. Neither black nor white are accurate and skin tone disparities can be debated indefinitely. I'm not denying the obvious differentiations, but why must it be Hatfields or McCoys ? My heritage here goes back three generations. Yet I am not considered a native American. In this nation of equality what really matters is who your daddy was.

Black is not a Race, nor is White. Negroid and Caucasoid and Mongoloid are. Also Aboriginal. Or rather they used to be the scientific classifications. Now, with DNA testing, it has been shown we all have some shared DNA. It is more confusing than ever. I do think skin tone/color is appropriate to use in describing a person, just as eye and hair color is. Anyway, whatever description is provided to help identify a human predator is acceptable in my book. After all, keeping people safe from predation is what's important here.

Donna: Beringa as it was called, the land bridge that connected Siberia to Alaska. It existed from 126,000 years before present, to the end of the last ice age about 11,000 years ago. It is the most recognized theory of how population spread to America and beyond.

Other theories include sailing vessel exploration, but to an already inhabited land.

It's just a descriptor, not a racial thing...we can make it a racial thing but that's not what is intended.

Leave out the skin color and gender and try to describe anyone at all to anyone else if you need to 'identify' them for ANY REASON!

We need to turn down the sensitivity knob a bit and deal with facts.

Technically I am various shades of pink and tan but everyone knows what is meant if I am described as a 'white' guy...that's all!🤓

Agree and thinkin I get it. Still don't care for "black" as a descriptor. Dark skin and male gits-r-done. I had dark skinned room-mates / friends going to college and lacking much skin pigment, evidently like you, they categorized me as a gray dude. Love the bald thing.

Neanderthal and hominids existed at the same era in time. That is mind bending. Maybe Neanderthal was considered “special Ed” among the species or vice versa. The combination of different skill sets projected man to better negotiate the hunter / gatherer life style. It’s good to learn from others.

Brings many cartoons to my minds eye!

Thanks for the info!

Looks like a full time job for 'the community', especially when there is virtually 0 justice available.

It's not just the big cities now...it's everywhere!

We can't protect everybody but thanks to those who try.

We may have to stand up for the first person who lawfully has to injure or kill someone in self-defense to make sure they are not unduly and unjustly prosecuted for doing the right thing.

Good people are less likely to get involved now as there are many cases of defenders being found guilty of something...either in public courts or private lawsuits.

Buckle up and hang on...it's gonna get a little turbulent...for 'awhile'!🤪
