The revolving wheel has been broken for a while. As an independent, I'm still willing to vote for a change. Jake is that change. I'm willing to vote for someone with a refreshingly different take on fixing this county. French has had his chance & it hasn't gotten any better. My hope is that with Jake on board, maybe Randy will start standing up to help that change since he's been out numbered for a while. A more balanced table (because I think Randy will be the deciding factor on votes) is what is needed. Jake is obviously a more conservative vote while we know Mark is far left (history tells us this). Jake & Mark will most likely be on opposite sides for major financial issues. I think Randy can now be allowed to become the middle man on deciding factors. Is it a perfect set? No but it's the closest set we have to a balanced table & I'll be voting towards that.

I have also questioned the County's continued financial support for nonprofit organizations without stronger oversight and measurable performance standards. Taxpayers deserve to know exactly how their money is being spent. Public Health has a $25 million budget-what results are being achieved?
The County's Opportunity Fund expenditures should receive rigorous public scrutiny before hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars are committed to private development projects or nonprofit organizations, the County should clearly demonstrate the public benefit for all. Our tribal neighbors are receiving historical dollars payments from the Federal and State governments-our tax dollars, and yet no tribal partner will contribute any money to supporting our roads, safety, schools or stop watering an expansion golf course. The Jake oppossers want a socialist county for all. I don't see the productivity in disrupting traffic, name calling, beating drums, and holding signs with foul messages.

I have observed Jake Seegers in action 7 days a week talking to businesses, Recomplete stakeholders, neighbors, including service resistant, making public comments at the Commissioners Tuesday 10am meeting, commenting at the Homeless Task Force and Behavioral Health meetings, and picking up trash with 4PA. I have never observed Mike French extending himself except to OlyCap who's 2024 revenues were $24 million dollars. Do you think if you faced a hardship and couldn't pay your property taxes, the County would excuse this? No way. Property owners have become profit centers for the current leadership. I invite anyone reading my post to attend a 10 am Tuesday Commissioners meeting and observe how the current leadership treats their constituents.

Then I watched the online reaction.
What saddened me even more than the video itself was seeing people take obvious pleasure in tearing another human being apart. I watched people transform his words into things he never actually said, including claims that he wants to "eradicate homeless people." Whether you support him or oppose him, that's not an honest conversation.
When I met Jake, my experience was entirely different. I shared my past addiction, homelessness, and the harm I caused. I expected judgment. Instead, he listened. He didn't make me feel less than. He challenged me to think, and I left with my mind racing.
For transparency, I'm not religious. I'm not MAGA. I've never voted for Trump or Biden. I usually find myself politically homeless somewhere in the middle. I still intend to vote for Jake. Not because I agree with every word he's ever spoken, but because I believe people should be judged by the entirety of their character, not by a twelve-minute clip viewed through the worst possible interpretation.
As someone who plans to support him, I also think his best path forward isn't to convince everyone that every word he spoke two years ago was perfect. It wasn't, and he's acknowledged that himself. His job now is simply to keep showing people who he is today through humility, listening, and service to this community.
Take it from someone who spent years in addiction, carrying the weight of the harm I caused and the chaos I left behind: if all any of us are ever allowed to be is the worst thing we've said or done, then what hope is there for redemption, recovery, or growth? What fascinates me about this is that it’s a forced outing. It’s outing how Jake votes, outing how Jake worships. Jeff and Doug have also been outed recently — for an open marriage that doesn’t exist.
Some Next Door conversations demonstrate to me that Jake is being socially discriminated against not for policies or a platform, but for foundational freedoms — the freedom to vote how you want, the freedom to worship how you want, and the freedom to be financially successful — the same foundational freedoms everyone has in this country.
My name came up in Next Door conversations too and that I don’t share my real name. This isn’t true — Jen is my real name. People have also met me in person; they know who I am. When it comes to monkeys and pigs, they aren’t willing to meet with Jake and have an interview to get their questions answered as has been offered to them. Some people aren’t even willing to email Jake with their questions. That’s their right — ignorance is a right.
This video is a perfect example of why many people out here protect their privacy as much as possible — because the Clallam community has residents who retaliate with pride against an individual’s foundational freedoms. Again, ignorance is a right.

When I see efforts made to find dirt on a political aspirant I see who to not vote for. I want to see and hear how a representative might benefit my area. Crying my opponent is bad and wrong only proves you got nothin.

Oh the hypocrisy! The people using this to defame Jake are the same ones (Indivisible) parading every Friday carrying signs filled with hate and profanity calling for the assassination of the President.

Compare that to the left's emotional hopey changey everyone feel good...when real solutions are being offered there is going to be some uncomfortable change. This is the idealism culture that's prevailed for too long. Look at the Harm Reduction Program and how long it's been a failure. Why do something different when virtue signalers impose their values on others..."There's no Harm here...they're feeling GOOD!" Railing against the truth is their only outlet.

To them, religion is a bad thing, something to sideline, mock, or replace with secular grievance. Teaching practical life skills to kids? Not a priority. What matters is instilling a narrative of hate and grievance against America. The "oppression Olympics" curriculum, and ranking everyone by identity and victimhood, has turned too many of our kids into resentful socialists who see the world as a zero-sum fight between oppressors and oppressed.
They cut ribbons on DNR land and block or slow timber sales on state lands that have long funded rural districts like Port Angeles. Those lost revenues, combined with enrollment drops, drive painful staff and program cuts, yet the equity bureaucracy and social justice initiatives remain protected. Socialists don't want to cut the school programs teaching their equity bullshit to our kids. No. Nancy Hamilton wants to micromanage the district's guts to advance the social equity goals she ran on.
The socialists' model only needs "brown shirts" to fill the ranks: a mob of kids whose only hope is to take from the rich and stand in the bread line, because they've been taught they cannot compete. Armed only with social equity squirming in their brains, they see envy and oppression everywhere instead of agency and opportunity. This doesn't build strong people. Religion is a threat to the development of young brown shirts.
Religion, by contrast, is good—not bad. Throughout history and across cultures, faith traditions have provided moral frameworks, purpose, community, personal accountability, and resilience that no state curriculum can replicate. They teach forgiveness over perpetual grievance, stewardship over envy, and service over entitlement. Dismissing religion while pushing identity-based division leaves a spiritual and ethical void that ideology rushes to fill with predictably poorer results for character, mental health, and social cohesion. Kids need tools for competence and meaning: trades, basics, agency, and yes, the voluntary wisdom of faith. Prioritizing anything less sells out their future for political optics. Time to choose substance over slogans.
