This article explains why we need Memorial Day. As Jeff has written, we cannot forget the sacrifices of so many who provided victory for our freedoms. Thank you to all veterans and patriots who steadfastly stood your ground and fought for our United States of America. The evil of slavery, oppression, and tyranny never dies. We will win battles to suppress it, but we need to win the war. Continue to pray for all people to recognize this evil and to attain the courage to face it and denounce it. Only thru our Higher Power can we unite to victory. God Bless our Honored Veterans past and present. GOD BLESS THE USA!
If we don't, in an outward manner, remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, then who will take up arms to defend us in the future if they're message is they too will simply be forgotten?
“Our citizens are demanding this information.” I also would like to see an accounting of who and how many are theses demanding citizens. I live in Sunland; a roughly 850 home community with it's own water and wastewater treatment systems. I recently attended our water district meeting and learned that the area ground water levels have remained stable for many years. Planning for an inordinate drought year is prudent, but these unsubstantiated cries of global warming soon to be the end of us all are chicken little panic ramblings. Why did global warming happen before us humans inhabited earth ? Believing we are causing global warming and worse that we can prevent it is pure and simple homocentricity / the outsized ego of humans. Like it or not; humans do not control this planet or the universe.
If the Gates Foundation is pushing their agenda and partnering with commissioners, watch out. The Gates Foundation tried to give school districts 20yrs ago $100,000 to high schools in order to control their entire curriculum. Smart board members dismissed the funding and said, "No thank you." Elected board members control district curriculum, not Gates. If they took the bait. Run.
But imagine all the human waste…forever plastics, carbon pollutions, unnatural pollutants of all kinds, man made chemicals in our food and soil…everywhere people are burning, smoke is polluting our planet, ecoli pollutes our rivers and aquifers, human waste everywhere…our oceans are warming and humans have wiped out entire species and continue to do so. animals are caught in our miles of nets; species are starving including humans.
…invasive species from other continents are destroying our ecosystems, water shortages are occurring as drought deepens,
millions of tons of human garbage, deforestation on every continent; we’ve interfere with natural river runs. We’ve polluted every place on earth. (This doesn’t include natural catastrophes….which happen constantly).
Apparently most people think “out of sight out of mind?” If you don’t see the mountains of human created waste and destruction, then it doesn’t exist?
We build grotesque edifices everywhere, we move natural geological features, we invite human “ tourists” that destroy our national ancient treasures; we’ve created tons of nuclear waste, we have over populated the earth
….you really think humans haven’t had an affect on our planet and natural environments?
Glaciers are melting; our oceans are warming…we know so much more about our planet than just a few years ago. And never in the millions of years of human evolution and history have we ever had so many humans. Heading to 10 billions of us.
Humans have created a huge garbage dump of unnatural chemicals and materials. Our greedy and reckless behaviors have caused irreversible damage. And some people still think humans are blameless and nothing we do has caused harm….including water worries.
Kathleen, as county and city government has made efforts to push their agenda (fear of losing water) at an alarming rate to indicate no water would exist and CC would be unlivable.
At the city level when Mr Casey Roloff gave presentations to develop the Seabrook resort on Sequim Bay. he was given facts, stats, and surveys that proved 600 additional homes would not strain current water/sewer/septic systems. We realize both can’t be true. So for whom is the lie being told? Utilities are the highest chair held in the pyramid of small town power games. I’ll wait until someone can answer that question. Honesty will prove the straightest route, quickest too.
Susan, Good point! Without accurate data, these monstrous developments will just multiply. I believe that development and other mega developments has sparked the widespread interest and dismay from our county citizens. ….keeping the county and city from issuing more permits I believe is the reason citizens want scientific data to disclose to the public we need to stop this usurpation of our water resources. Our Olympic Mountain glaciers are shrinking . I believe that is a fact.
First, these are not “grievances”, they are facts.
The earth’s water supply is finite.
One way to preserve a finite resource is to regulate it.
Regulation is needed to protect health (you’ve seen and or read the cavalier behaviors of humans when it comes to environmental health, animal welfare, etc.). The deniers that water temperatures are rising, for example.
The health of every living thing is now compromised ( forever..or nearly so).
But to not hasten the inevitable, why not have a water resource steward?
Perhaps the position without stated goals. Remember at first it was a “water steward”.
Then it turned into a committee. From one person steward to a department. I didn’t even get the opportunity to weigh in on a survey. Just like upon seeing tobacco sales start to fall. The tobacco industry reinvented themselves in to processed foods.
At Diamond Point our new water service is Cascadia., But some digging lead me back to Cascade and to NW Natural then to NW Natural Gas so from Gas to Water, could they see the writing on the wall ahead of the public? Probably not all of it but positioning is guaranteeing utilities money will remain a cash cow.
Finite resources need oversight by citizens that will collect and distribute salient data so that the supply and the health of life is protected. Information is needed to ensure wise decisions.
I would say it depends on how much authority is given to the “water steward” and his staff. Remember they quickly moved talk of an individual to a department. Will the majority have access to water or will it be split with the Tribe 50/50. Even though their numbers are minute compared to the rest of the population. Every time a new entity is added to local government it comes with a cost that exceeds the salary.
I don’t think we need to create jobs that are funded by tax dollars.
So the only answer is, everyone must die. Not eventually, right now while there still is a planet. I just don’t trust that people will be on board for that. Maybe politicians could go first and set an example. But lots of problems would go away. So just thinking out loud to add answers to the above doom and gloom of the planet. After 5 mass extinctions for planet earth number 6 may be around the corner. Hope all the snakes are wiped out!
It really is through your great efforts that "we" in the community have the ability to discuss all of these important subjects. That said, I have to say how proud that I am to see SO many awesome folks here who all have something of value to contribute to this great community and by extension America itself~! It is indeed the good American people who can save America from the evil despots ;-)
It being Memorial Day I'll attend one of the services today.
The Jack Grennan American Legion Post 62, assisted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4760, will conduct Memorial Day services starting at 11 a.m. Monday at Sequim View Cemetery, 1505 Sequim-Dungeness Way.
American Legion members will then hold short ceremonies at Jamestown Cemetery (end of Jake Hall Road) at noon, Dungeness Cemetery, 2153 Lotzgesell Road, at 12:45 p.m., and Blue Mountain Cemetery, 1986 Blue Mountain Road, at 1:30 p.m.
Jeff, you show the corruption gets deeper everyday. Thank you for bringing this stuff to light. We have one hurdle to cross for free and elections. We must get rid of mail in voting. This has been the democrats meal ticket since the Gregoire/Rossi scandal. Once this happens the tide will turn but until then only the far left radicals will remain in positions to dictate what happens in our county. It's funny that nobody wants to mention that mail in voting is corrupt with no accountability. Our voter rolls are tainted and Republicans get pushed out of watching vote counting. This has happened in Camano island as of recent with a rouge DA trying to prosecute with felony charges. The corruption is so deep that the likelihood of change is slim to none with our current so called democratic process. I pray this will change for my children's sake.
Weird!!! So they say they push for accountability and democracy. Then they do the exact opposite. Only if it benefits them not others. Damn shame my friend.
“We just hadn’t bothered to tell him.” Then the tribes turn around and tell us what they do is for the good of everyone. They say what they want us to hear, not what they want us to know.
Clallam County voted in the Commissioners and Councilmembers to make policy decisions and enact laws on our behalf, therefore YOUR JOB is to keep the county running smoothing through economic development and public services. These decisions should always be based on the greatest good for the greatest numbers, with the least amount of confusion.
The Commissioners and Councilmembers are not only confused on the rules of order on just how to run meetings, IN ORDER TO RUN OUR COUNTY SMOOTHLY, but have spent an inordinate amount of wasted childish time debating the rather obvious moral and legal sides of “how to” do it.
This article covers a vast amount of information which, in a basic form, would be confusing, but add in all the “left field” tactics and it becomes insurmountable. Our county is so far away from running smoothly that the citizens you represent are living in fear for not only their livelihoods but for their lives. These self interest power struggles have become obscene and obvious.
I think it explains itself w/ a megaphone- either that announcement went live by accident, or public engagement has been minimal enough that they felt comfortable jumping the gun w/o much of a red flag being raised. Whether it’s one, the other or both, the intended outcome stays the same- they’re hell bent on getting their way
Im not gonna say that water management and septic systems are not an issue. They do need to be managed. But we would be hardpressed to find anybody nowdays with credentials in those fields that are not biased towards their globalist agenda. All comes down to control. And once they get it. They get stupid. And as ive said before. Im getting sooo tired of these rotten pricks coming in from other states. Trying to make Sequim like what they have left behind.
As long as the Tribe provides the monies at election time to benefit the candidates they favor, nothing will change for the better. It will continue to degrade to the point where a Susan Fisch will dictate our future. If we don't open our wallets to support the candidates we want... For all the wonderful good Jeff does here, at election time there are thousands of others who will vote the bumper stickers out of ignorance. We need to combat that will our own efforts and those efforts will require money.
Right on about the Charter Review Commission (CRC) and seemingly prejudiced agenda and lack of response to public input opposing a Water Steward, as well as turning a deaf ear to any public comment disagreeing with their agenda. I think it is critically important to attend Tuesday May 27 meetings and voice opposition to adding another layer of bureaucracy when all the data is already available and we already have the means to consolidate it.
Tribal peoples have served in wars to defend U.S. freedoms at the highest per-capita rate of any other group, making immense sacrifices for the liberties we enjoy today. I honor their memory now and for the next seven generations.
The county is required to insure that a new water use will not impact a protected stream or river OR a senior water right before issuing a building permit even if a well has already been dug.
Ecology and the State office of drinking water remind us the water belongs to everyone and if you have a need for more water than allocated or they want you to have, you must reduce the number of connections the system serves.
No matter whether the title is environmental steward, water steward or water scientist, the result will be to bring as many systems under the fist of the state office of drinking water and county rule. Unlike Cascadia, the for profit water company that was robbing Peter to pay Paul, county isn't subject to the same rule and will do just that. Those of us west of the Elwha know what Paul wants, Paul gets. The east end is threatened with a loss of potable water due to overdevelopment and the county a drop in tax receipts. I bet there are alot of angry property owners out there who expected to build or remodel who have and haven't yet discovered they cant. There will be plenty more when co expects others to pay for others systems just when they thought they had paid their off their own.

Our Oath of Enlistment does not have a "Best By" or Expiration Date.

Great words Denise Lapio~!
Have a beautiful Memorial Day~!

Thank you, Mike. You as well.

People like Bill Gates believe they are the Higher Power.
He just has more money!!!
If the Gates Foundation is pushing their agenda and partnering with commissioners, watch out. Too many close calls.

Who says humans haven’t had an affect on our planet and natural environments? What's the alternative?
What's your point here with the list of grievances? How does it support the need for a water steward?
Kathleen, as county and city government has made efforts to push their agenda (fear of losing water) at an alarming rate to indicate no water would exist and CC would be unlivable.

How harmful can water stewardship be.
Perhaps the position without stated goals. Remember at first it was a “water steward”.

How does a Clallam County water controller address your list of "facts?"
Appreciate you clarifying the job is to regulate, not just provide information as the architects claim.
Finite resources need oversight by citizens that will collect and distribute salient data so that the supply and the health of life is protected. Information is needed to ensure wise decisions.
Where is such a water controller program being used?
I would say it depends on how much authority is given to the “water steward” and his staff. Remember they quickly moved talk of an individual to a department. Will the majority have access to water or will it be split with the Tribe 50/50. Even though their numbers are minute compared to the rest of the population. Every time a new entity is added to local government it comes with a cost that exceeds the salary.
I don’t think we need to create jobs that are funded by tax dollars.
Shouldnt water be under EPA or some dept already?
So the only answer is, everyone must die. Not eventually, right now while there still is a planet. I just don’t trust that people will be on board for that. It's been scientifically proven that the only things to make it past the next extinction event are cockroaches, horsetail weeds, and Cher.
😄. Reptiles are pretty hearty. But even if we do run out of water, or food, the life cycle of the sun will do our planet in.
Happy Memorial Day to you and your wonderful family Jeff Tozzer~!
Thank you for doing such an outstanding job in bringing the REAL news to folks through your Clallam County Community Watchdog publication~!
Cheers~!

“Public hearing with the County Commissioners occurred May 27, 2025, when the plan was

I must be missing something here ……….. how is it possible for the plan to be discussed and adopted BEFORE THE MEETING OCCURRED?
Time travel, perhaps?
Maybe a “typo”?
Today is Monday May26,2025……. Please explain.
