A new Elwha report from the usual suspects pushes more permanent lockups while Clallam County leadership platforms them and ordinary taxpayers foot the cost
A million thank you's Jeff! Because of you I have forged new friendships, contacts and experiences. It has been an exccelerating experience to ride along with you and others this year. Because of you, Jake, Clallamity Jen, CAS, Denise, Virginia, and others I have learned alot about Clallam county government, our community, the tangled web of non-profit programs, and jaw dropping idealogies held by those in charge. This story is far from over.
Cheers to you and your vast base of dedicated, smart, and lively supporters.
Agree! I never thought about the NGO's, and their sneaky ways, until reading CCWatchdog, and everyone here that contributes their vast knowledge and experience has really changed my outlook. Jake Seegers is a winner!
Agreed! It takes a village and look at what all we have exposed and learned in the process! Thanks, Jeff for all your work and this village will continue to grow! Get some much needed rest!
There is no doubt we all need a break. There is also no doubt we will have to resume the post. They have hid Communism to date. People see them for what they are now. People wanting elite status but they aren't offering their assets to the state....They are just stuffy elite communist/socialist hall monitor types. Even if Jake wins he is a cry in the wilderness until Clallam County is purged of socialist controllers. 2027 will be another 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Despot opposition requires a manufacturered boogey man. If Jake had lived here his entire life, and lived on a pittance, a different boogey man would have been manufactured to oppose him.
I continue to receive the local newspaper, some don’t. In Saturday’s edition was a guest commentary by Jim Haguewood. Worth the read. He is spot on. If someone could convince him he would be outstanding as a commissioner,IMO.
Billy, I have a strange suspicion Ozias won't be running next year. Why? He's been his own saboteur. He just doesn't care what the folks in Clallam County care about. He votes and makes decisions based on his political standing and IMO is paving the yellow brick road to Olympia.
The break is understandable and not a surprise given the pace you've kept. Wheaties could print your mug on a box.
The reality for anyone who has been awoken to the sleight of hand the common citizens have been dealt is that it takes a massive awakening to make a difference.
No matter the outcome of the elections being involved is the lesson.
Jeff, I am so happy to hear that you are taking a well-deserved break. You do something for yourself and spend fun time with Doug. And your animals. You've been working non-stop for three years. Time to step back, really see ALL that you have accomplished, and reassess what your future goals need to be.
That noise, or screech, was scary. Let us know if you ever find out what it is.
You will be missed these few weeks, but we can always replay any podcast any time and feel like you are with us everyday. Take care and have a very restful and fun break. ❤️
In the big scheme of things "back in the day," working timberlands were set aside to provide sustainable revenue for localities. At the same time, designated wilderness areas, as well as state and national parks, et. al., were set aside in no small measure so the ecosystem including so-called "legacy" forests and old growth timber, remained in their natural state, with no development. For the tiny minority of the population that are socialist ecofreak nutjobs who believe plants and animals have the same inherent rights as humans, any action undertaken to halt timber harvest is defensible. And please, for the umpteenth time, can we stop with the "time immemorial" BS and the fantasy that tribes are superior land and wildlife stewards?
I hope you and everyone else who has been working to share important information enjoys a nice long break. You deserve it and will need it for the year ahead.
Some things to keep on the immediate radar for PA voters and those concerned with economic development in the county:
The regular PA council meeting tomorrow 11/4 has an almost 400 page agenda packet with an extensive critical areas ordinance update. If you own property in PA near a creek, bluff, wetland, urban forest, shoreline etc. you will want to pay attention to this meeting. There is still a push from certain council members for "net ecological gain" and other very restrictive measures being pushed.
The PA planning regular meeting dates in Nov. and Dec. were cancelled, BUT there is a special planning meeting Dec. 2 at 6:00 for public hearing on the "data center" ordinance. Watch this coffee with Colleen to hear more about the actual proposal for the project in question. https://youtu.be/QYKBv1f1Zzo?is=POa4J2o8tIPb9FWs
We pray that your will be done here in Clallam County.
We know that you are "the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom" (2 Cor 3:17).
We pray that the gift of freedom of mind and heart is bestowed on your people and pray earnestly that our land will be free for generations upon generations. And for that we pray and "are certain" to see your "goodness... in the land of the living" (Ps 27:13).
Bring joy to the people of this county and inspire deep love of our neighbors. Grant us the desire to love and to forgive our enemies and to help unify through your love and the peace that passes all understanding, no matter the outcome of this election.
Bless us with truth, honesty, and steady footing, with integrity, as we walk your path, on these trails, and pass along these roads lifting neighbor, protecting the weak, and strengthening those who have fallen into darkness. Help us walk without shame.
Remind those who win this election that you are the king and their actions will be judged in that light. No matter their political bent today, write with permanent ink on their heart that they are your servants. Awaken them to that truth, this supernatural fact. The offices they will hold is not for the powerful, but for the servant, just as your son demonstrated at the cross, who is the king of kings.
Scatter the wicked like chaff in the wind from this county, this state, this country, and this planet. So, true peace may reign forever. Place us in a state of awe of you.
We love you and honor you and are in service of you,
I listened three times to where that sound alarmed you, Jeff, but this replay gave me no volume. Knowing that there are those who would frighten you to the end that you would move away; I expect that was likely something conjured to manifest for that purpose.
Since you currently have no authority in that realm, you have no protection from it messing with you.
Should you want real safety from it, there's a place between The Cross and The Throne that the humble call home.
Thanks Ed, that noise will forever haunt me. We shined the flashlight up into the tree last night, and it turned out that there was a group of League of Women voters up there with a cauldron chanting about me. So that must have been it. As soon as it's daylight, we will get the broom and some wasp spray and get rid of them.
I don't check on the animals. I love them like children, except when there is something screeching outside. Then they are on their own. Looking for my window they all seem to be accounted for and call this morning. I may never go outside again to visit them.
Jeff u rest up we are only starting the journey to rescue CC. You are an inspiration to all with your reporting the back door secret deals that are happening.Have a great holiday season.😎
Not coincidentally, for the first time in DNR history, the 2026 DNR Strategic Plan https://dnr.wa.gov/dnrs-strategic-plan does not include any mention of either Trust Responsibility or Timber Harvest.

I'm very thankful for all the same things.

The screw you Doherty tour 2027.
John Worthington for Commissioner!
I vote for that! At least he can't be attacked for being too wealthy or a carpetbagger.
Wrong he is rich with local knowledge and common sense.
Billy, you got that right, he is a treasure chest!
Despot opposition requires a manufacturered boogey man. If Jake had lived here his entire life, and lived on a pittance, a different boogey man would have been manufactured to oppose him.
I will donate until it hurts.
…and 2028 will be rebirth.
Ozias is next John. Need a Jake like candidate.
If Jake wins, the next race will be even more vicious. The person running against Ozias needs to have nerves of steel. 🇺🇲

Oligarch wanna be
Billy, we need a candidate that doesn't have a totem pole that's up his end game ; )
“…welcome to your new home…”
Thank you all your coverage of local issues that matter.
Enjoy your well earned break!
I found the watershed report astonishing.
Now we want to protect scenery.
Everyone looks at a picture differently.
One may see trees, I see a functioning Emergency Room, a fire truck in route to save a life.
Stop this nonsense.

Good morning Jeff and Doggers,
Thank you for all the updates on our Commissioners antics.
Mark Ozias is quite a gem and hears what he wants and his response is proof.
You deserve a break !
I hope we'll meet up again ...if the creature from Salish woods leaves you be.
Go Jake!!!
Win or lose I'll always be grateful!
Have a great day all.

I've never heard something higher pitched than me. Terrifying!
Denise, I’m afraid I might go into CCWD news withdrawals
SYMPTOMS:
(1) Sitting in front of your PC screen for no apparent reason
(2) Walking by the computer puts you in depression
(3) You have thoughts of renewing you PDN subscription
(4) Uncontrolled barking and howling
(5) The need to make comments on CCWD articles that started 3 years ago
(6) Getting active on Next Door
Not the PDN! Horrors
Agreed! Whatever will I do while having my morning coffee ☕️!
No, thank you, Jeff. Have a well deserved rest and enjoy this holiday season.
You too Donna!

Thank heavens we have Susie!!!
; )
Jeff, finally you can take time to enjoy your yacht!
I've been promising Luis we would take it out for a spin.
BTW, what is the name of your super Yacht? Luis will look very good on it.
Dear Lord,
We pray that your will be done here in Clallam County.

Were your animals also startled by the noise? If as loud as you say, I'd expect it would have neighborhood dogs barking for miles away!
I don't check on the animals. I love them like children, except when there is something screeching outside. Then they are on their own. Looking for my window they all seem to be accounted for and call this morning. I may never go outside again to visit them.

The screech was the LWV flipping out cause they know JAKE is gonna win ;)

"Joy" "uplift DNR staff" seriously? Aren't they uplifted enough with their generous WA state employee benefit package?
Likely the result of shifting policy out of Olympia.
