With more low income housing being built everywhere in CC, I am concerned about who will foot the bill for the added population with no means to pay property taxes. An increase in population means added health care needs. OMC is not taking new patients. I was told that because I haven't used the services of OMC in over three years that I am considered a new patient and OMC cannot take me. I'd have to try Jamestown. What?! ...What?! I just got slammed in new property taxes, but OMC can't take me as a new patient! I went to Jamestown and scheduled an appointment. It'll be several months before I see a doctor, but at least I got in. Those of us who spoke out against the levy lid lift KNEW we'd get nothing but a kick in the gut with this huge tax increase with no requirements for accountability and transparency. Thank you, Jeff for all of this info. It's helpful and appreciated.

HA~!

I just have to laugh at the fact that "we" in Clallam County have all been lied to, deceived, and tricked by the "Wolfe in sheep's clothing"~! Gee, who could have seen THAT coming~? Ha Ha Ha!!! Of course, after the past 5+ years of playing a terrible role in the COVID & dangerous and deadly fake "vaccine" malpractice spree that murdered millions of men, women, and children and disabled many millions more, it was pretty obvious that many folks would steer clear of the hospitals and even doctors all over the US and world if they were paying any attention to what was really going on. So, it is no surprise that the local hospital administration would cook up a scheme to bilk the taxpayers one last time before they sold the community out to run for cover before any criminal prosecutions could begin~! I have been successfully analyzing exactly this kind of criminal behavior for well over 50 years, and I have to admit that I NEVER enjoy having my worst suspicions and analytical conclusions proven to be correct~! Anyway, going forward I would strongly suggest that the good folks of Clallam County completely refrain from approving another penny in taxes, revenue, or funding of ANY kind, until we purge the government shysters and the other criminals from their positions of power in our community... The local hospital was NEVER going to close its doors or limit the very bread & butter services that it needs to remain profitable. Even if the hospital did close its doors entirely, which would actually be an improvement in many cases, you can bet that others would step in to fill the local demand for those services! Economics 101~! The hospital administration, school district administration, and criminals in the governments here have nothing but a history of using extremely disgusting brutal and sadistic low level "Fear Porn" tactics to trick the low information emotionally weak Individuals into obeying the most ridiculous dictates. These evil criminal characters who dare to abuse their restricted authority and limited power ruthlessly abuse everyone every chance that they get, so they are the biggest problems that we face and they can never be trusted~!!! JUST SAY NO~!

Freedom from these tyrants must happen ;-)

Sincerely, Mike

Hello Patriot Steve O~!

Thank you for your difficult comment and our hearts here go out to you and all who were seduced by the criminals about this COVID assault upon humanity. Everyone has been brainwashed by these evil satanic criminals of humanity, but it is within us all to Individually learn to reject evil wherever we encounter it. Fear is our enemy, but due concern is our duty and rightful responsibility~! There is a possibility that you were not exposed to the mRNA bioweapon that many received from the fake COVID "vaccines". The man-made mRNA bioweapon apparently does destroy 20% of an Individuals immune system every time they receive one, from what the real & honorable laboratory scientists have been finding. Unfortunately, people are still dying from these mRNA vaccines that they took years ago, because they are well known to shorten the victim's life span. The GREAT news is that the criminals of humanity never produce anything that they themselves can't cure or avoid, so we believe that there are many inexpensive detoxing protocols that folks can follow to remove the mRNA poisons and hopefully restore the immune system. I can give you some of these detoxing protocols to look into, but you always have to do your own research and decide what is best for you. Just so you know, we here regularly follow several of the detoxing protocols as a precaution, even though we never took a COVID vaccine, so we practice exactly what we preach. To date, we have lost almost $500,000 worth of Income, because my wife was one of the finest vascular ultrasound diagnostic experts in the world and as such, she always put the patient's well-being & best interests first over the decades that she was in the medical industry. She dared to honestly answer her patients' questions about COVID and the dangerous and deadly vaccines, so the criminals within the healthcare Industrial complex fired her, destroyed her career, and threatened to criminally prosecute her just for telling the truth! We knew that the criminals would NEVER criminally prosecute her because we had all of the evidence that proved that this was indeed a mass murder genocidal attack upon humanity right from the beginning, and they could not afford to be exposed for the murderers that they truly are. To be completely fair, some doctors and medical workers also took the vaccines, so they are/were likely just stupid and ignorant because they had the ultimate duty to know what they were really doing. The ironic truth is that many of those folks are now dead or disabled because of their foolish behavior. Then again, look for the doctors and medical workers who didn't take the vaccines, but profited by administering them to everyone else, because they will definitely be criminally prosecuted for their crimes against humanity in due time~! No joke~! Anyway, our prayers go out to you, and we hope that you live long and well~! Folks who survive this ugly period of history will be amazed at just how great things will be after the dust settles and America and the entire world will change for the better~! Have a great day! Sincerely, Mike P.S. Those folks who wear those useless and even dangerous masks that you still see out there are without doubt the most unintelligent Individuals in society, because they are actually harming their own health~! This is a "survival of the fittest" world my friend, and with our Individual freedom of choice comes a corresponding Individual responsibility that many completely fail to understand. "That's All Folks"~! Be a survivor and live well~!

While "we" may not be able to exactly fix stupid, we sure can remove it and eliminate it from infecting our otherwise wonderful community and that always takes time, but I am quite sure that process is already unfolding~! The criminals of humanity always put up a HUGE fight and project the image of never quitting, until that one beautiful day when "POOF" they are gone~! One way or another ;-) That is the real history of civilization in most cases, especially when the population has had more than enough abuse and I believe that it is fair to say that "we" (in Clallam County, America, and the entire world) have had more than enough abuse already~! Keep the faith~! Sincerely, Mike

Why does Olympic Medical Center (OMC) advertise ANYWHERE? OMC is the ONLY hospital near hear. Why does the OMC need any billboards? Our county commissioners are rubber stamping expenditure and promoting more and more help for drug addictions and indigent population while ignoring the problems at OUR county hospital. Commissioners tout all the PIZZA PARTIES and how they help convince addicts to use our facilities, while we all wait for hours for emergency health care. The hospital seems to be designed to administer primary health care at the triage center rather then triage care. Maladministration and improper prioritization of resources is causing doctors to flee this hospital, with little hope of being replaced. Seems like 'leaders' of this county seem to be recruiting drug addicts and indigents to the area for free health care, free drug paraphernalia, free housing, free transportation, free pizza, etc. All free stuff paid for by property taxes, gas taxes, sales taxes, excise taxes, taxes, taxes, and more taxes. WHO IS PAYING THE TAXES??? WHO IS BENEFITING???

The rich and greedy 1%. Caring for people shouldn’t be tainted with money. If you believe in god and Christ then you believe in caring for the sick and needy not because they paid their taxes but because it was the right thing to do. You’re correct in that they shouldn’t be waisting money on ads cause yeah, what is the alternative? I’m sure there is some cleaning of house that needs to be done to the OMC board. Blaming the boards failures on the people that come here needing help is not Christ like. “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:7-8

Does OMC stand for Obfuscate, Muddle, and Corrupt?

Remember, too, that OMC And Jamestown Family Health both refused to prescribe PROVEN Covid Cure, Hydroxychloroquine plus zinc, in favor of VERY expensive and questionably effective and kidney-damaging Remdesivir. Is this how they make profits? By keeping people sick? To by fair, this Covid cure was pushed by Fauci and the CDC, AMA, and FDA, despite people al KNOWING that it was untrue. Emails found in Fauci's computer revealed that he knew about the cure back in 2008. Yet, hospitals across the nation cashed in by keeping people sick, hospitalized and on Remdesivir. And OMC was complicit. Truly a sad state of affairs and direct violation of the Hippocratic Oath. Oh wait, the businesspeople that run hospitals do not take that oath and solely worship money. We can do better with a transparent merger.

OMC warned the public before the levy lift that the boost in tax revenue would not be enough to fix their finances.

By the end of 2024, OMC officials said finances were awful — but that the organization had no plans to raise cash by selling any of its vacant properties. It was planning to open a pharmacy in the former Wells Fargo bank building on Front Street and wanted to hold out hopes for future uses on others, like a childcare center near the Vern Burton Center.

At last week’s meeting, the board had a “no-update update” regarding a merger or partnership. In a closed executive session, the board finally discussed the sale of real estate but did not say what property they were considering.

Meanwhile, members of the public presented comment to the board that they wanted to ensure OMC maintains “gender-affirming care” and women’s health. But OMC providers and clinic staff say that OMC doesn’t do surgeries for gender-affirming care or prescribe hormones for people who want to switch genders. If you need an abortion (“on demand,” not related to the prospective mother’s health), you’ll need to go to Planned Parenthood. There’s no reason to be concerned about a merger with any of the religious hospital chains.

A merger with ANY health care system capable of delivering services, including Franciscan, should be on the table.

Expand full comment
Jim Randall's avatar

CHI Franciscan, in my opinion, would be eager to take over OMC. OMC is a prime candidate and CHI has the cash to do it. But, as other “merger” partners have found out, like Virginia Mason in Seattle, CHI brings an aggressive management style to health care. I have friends at VM having worked there for years. People, including doctors, are not happy with the change. But, such a takeover is inevitable in my opinion.

Expand full comment
Mark Swanson's avatar

Indeed. The merger/partnership consultant told the board that its recommendation could be anywhere from early fall (August-September) to late fall (almost Christmas). My guess is that passage of Medicaid changes this week in the Big Beautiful Bill will accelerate the need for their recommendation and the board’s decision.

I am not intimate with the hospital economics, but I assume the largest financial detriment is providing free health care for the indigent. That expense is likely a default given. Exploring that challenge might be a worth while endeavor. I'm not offering a solution other than to dedicate effort into exploring that expense and determining whether or not any alternatives exist. An example might be in exchange for free health care the patient must get a psychiatric evaluation or if diagnosed with drug addiction, a mandatory rehabilitation program. The partnership possibility is ominous. It is the "North Olympic Peninsula Health District", ( partnership ), that censured us from public access if we did not inject experimental toxic substances that neither stopped the targeted disease contraction nor transmission. Further the NOPHD obligated us wear diapers on our faces when in public spaces. Both of those mandates are now known to be wrong and ineffective. Allowing Marshall law capability to people with no law enforcement background was and remains a huge mistake.

nice...new buzzword I didn't know about: CULTURALLY HUMBLE WORKFORCE

AI says: A culturally humble workforce actively seeks to understand and respect diverse cultural backgrounds, recognizing that cultural differences impact individuals' experiences and perspectives. It's an ongoing process of self-reflection, learning, and acknowledging one's own biases, rather than assuming expertise in another culture. This approach fosters inclusivity, improves communication, and enhances overall workplace wellness

My thinking from what I've read is that if you accept Medicare/Medicaid/Federal $$$s, you have to admit one and all regardless of their ability to pay. The ER door, admits one and all, is a loss leader, as people know they can receive free treatment, "no insurance- no problem. " Rolls of the PDN are next to the Charmin at your grocery store. As to the ownership of this entity:

Clallam County Public Hospital District 2, doing business as Olympic Medical Center (OMC), is currently a public hospital district and a municipal corporation under Washington State law. It is governed by a publicly elected board of commissioners and operates as a local government entity, not as a private or nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.

Key points about its status:

• Government Entity: It is registered as a U.S. local government entity and hospital under Clallam County.

• Public Funding: It is publicly funded, receiving a significant portion of its support from local tax levies approved by voters, as well as patient revenue and other sources.

• Tax-Exempt: As a government entity, it is exempt from state and federal income taxes, but this is due to its public status, not because it is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

• Oversight: Its finances are audited by the Washington State Auditor and are subject to public transparency and accountability requirements.

• Operations: OMC operates Olympic Memorial Hospital, outpatient clinics, home health, and other healthcare services for the community.

The transition reflects that OMC (formerly filing as a nonprofit under EIN 91-1285758) now operates as a public hospital district under a new EIN (91-6001709), with its name officially as Clallam County Public Hospital District 2. This change means it is now a public hospital—owned by the community and governed by elected officials—rather than a private nonprofit hospital.

Because we have never had one, (16) years where does a person go for a medical emergency? Diamond Point sits just west of the county lines between Jefferson and Clallam. I’m a bit confused bc everything you read touts this area as the perfect retirement choice. Access to medical care and providers are usually in the top 1 or 2 major concerns. Emergency requiring a drive to Silverdale feels like a DOA. We pay for helicopter but actually shouldn’t that be covered in our high tax burden? Just don’t want to bleed out looking for after hours urgent care. Neighbor told me expect 30-40 minutes to get response to Diamond Point. Geez, I think it’s under 7 miles off 101?
