Thank you Mr Taylor, reading your article, I don't get that the Commissioner's are listening. I feel we are just speaking to the hand. Instead they are busy with:
THIRTY-FIVE WAYS TO AVOID ANSWERING QUESTIONS
1. Ignoring the question
2. Acknowledging the question without answering it
3. Questioning the question
◦ Requesting more explanation
◦ Bouncing the question back: ‘You tell me’
4. ATTACKING THE QUESTION! (Commissioner’s most favorite)
◦ The question does not address the key topic under discussion
◦ The question is hypothetical or speculative
◦ The question is based on a faulty premise
◦ The question is not accurate in terms of facts
◦ The question contains an erroneous quote
◦ The question contains a quote that has been taken out of context
◦ The question is offensive
◦ The question is based on a wrong choice
5. Attacking the interviewer
6. Refusing to answer
◦ Because you cannot answer
◦ Because you do not want to answer
◦ ‘I can’t speak for someone else’
◦ Delaying the answer (‘You will have to wait and see’)
◦ Claiming ignorance
7. Making a political point
◦ Attacking an external group (the opposition or rival groups)
◦ Referring to policy
◦ Defending policy
◦ Reassuring
◦ Appealing to nationalism
◦ Presenting a political analysis
◦ Self-justification
◦ Defending your own party or opinion
8. Providing an incomplete answer
◦ Starting an answer but not finishing it (interrupting yourself)
◦ Providing a negative answer: the politician says what is not going to happen instead of what is going to happen
◦ Giving a partial answer
◦ Answering only half of the question
◦ Giving only a fraction of an answer
9. Repeating the answer to the previous question
10. Saying or implying that the question has already been answered
Aside from the petitions Mr. Seegers will present, how will the Commissioners know who in the audience are against the fee? I happened upon this article yesterday and some of the photos are a possible example of what opposition could look like. Nothing to read, just scroll down. It would make for a visible representation.
Very appreciative of the time Mr. Seegers has taken provide us with the facts of the problem, namely that we're clearly being lied to in order to swindle our money. I'll be asking the Commissioners to vote no so that the CCD can "conserve" the $5 in my wallet.
Isn't it weird that when left to your own devices to raise money, you succeed in collecting $25 over a year but when you throw it on the agenda as a $5 per household 'gift' to aid the CCD it causes rancor? Do you think that maybe, just maybe, if you did a better job at creating a viable reason for the additional monies that people would be more inclined to offer it, than to just take it from them? Do you remember a time, long ago, when you could choose to gift an organization, through your payroll, each payday? I do.
Teri, The sneaky doesn't end there. I was eating at the Resort at Port Ludlow. Looking down to the bottom of the menu was some tiny print. It stated it will add a 1% gift tax (of total bill) to go to JEFFERSON COUNTY LAND TRUST unless you let it be known that you don't want to! That got me going. I thought taking the "oath" for Clallam County was way out line. Read the Jefferson County "oath" especially paragraph 2. It has us taking a walk of shame. Jesus Jumpin Jehoshaphat put me in jail, please.
Land Acknowledgement
Jefferson Land Trust acknowledges that the lands we work to preserve are within the traditional Indigenous tribal lands of the S’Klallam, Chemakum, Twana, Suquamish and other Indigenous peoples. These Indigenous peoples are the original stewards of these lands and waters, since time immemorial. Jefferson Land Trust recognizes that European and American colonization irrevocably changed the homeland and ecosystem of the Tribes, effectively destroying traditional land access and ways of life.
WAIT FOR IT
We also recognize that the current system of land ownership and private conservation that we operate within has created, and continues to create, NEGATIVE IMPACTS on many marginalized communities. Working in conjunction with local Indigenous peoples and marginalized communities, Jefferson Land Trust will RECOGNIZE THIS IMMEASURABLE DISRUPTION and we will strive to lessen the negative impacts of our work, creating a future wherein we seek to deepen our partnerships together and create positive change.

Exactamundo! This whole gig is a complete and utter lie. Great list of devious responses, jennifer!
They ask do you eat, do you drink water? While they’re paying farmers not to grow crops?
In some cases, those farmers are CCD commissioners! What a coinkydink.
