When I interviewed Jake for my podcast, I asked him about what if he doesn’t win; not to jinx it, but because I always wonder what happens to so many passionate candidates who disappear when they lose the race.
Whatever happens in the election, I believe Clallam County will still win because of what Jake was doing before running for election; I believe he will continue to do the same things — provide information, volunteer, speak out at public meetings, and help people in the community. Public office or not, Jake is winning the people and Clallam County is winning because of it.
I hope he does continue to speak out and help the community. But if he doesn’t win and it has something to do with mail in ballots being counted weeks after voting day, it will be the final sign that WA is cooked.
Fines should be applied to those who waste everyone's time by submitting frivolous complaints, and those fines should be double what the complainant asked for. If they did their research (like CCWD did) they would know they have no standing. But then I believe they only want to wear the campaigners down until they give up, and that's not going to happen.

The good news is that two candidates are running this year that could get standing to challenge the election and try to get discovery. Voters can't get standing only candidates can. The good news is that two candidates are running this year that could get standing to challenge the election and try to get discovery. Voters can't get standing only candidates can. I would advise all candidates to send a request to the County Auditor for the voter rolls in order to cement standing and discovery.

I don't believe Paul has to pay for a complaint filed with the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission, although I'm sure it comes out of our pockets somehow to investigate.
