Wow, so these heads just come in, tank the hospital, load their pockets and leave for personal reasons????? Seems they are running from the ensuing shit storm that is about to hit the hospital. When will these people be held accountable? Oh wait, im sure they have a D by their name which means untouchable in this corrupt state.
That's how it looks to me, too, Greg. Is there malfeasance involved? Did they embezzle funds before skipping out? What do they know that we don't? They must see something systemic, hence the mass exodus, or they are guilty of something and are leaving the sinking ship. Either way, I don't like it. I hope a thorough investigation reveals the real problem.
They are so sociopathic, this behavior is completely normal in the collusion and corruption of the sick blend of corporations and public services...they are ALL corporate raiders...that's how they got to where they are...no morals, poor ethics, arrogance, greed, etc.
Fascism is complicated but it got its modern start (apparently) with Mussolini (in the homeland of the Mafia) when he helped blend private for-profit corporate interests with public service!
Hell on earth for most, but that's the model that has taken the world by storm.
Interesting times!
CEO's that don't know anything about work ethics, budget considerations, or really any other skill other than 'positioning'.
There are a lot of BJ's, or the equivalent, going on amongst those in those boardrooms...satan has us by the balls...for now!
Visualize a new reality and a fading away of the horrors of modern gov't!
If we don't give it Our vision...there are a lot of radical muslims who have a 'god-given' vision for how the world 'should be' and a lot of other commie-radicals who have another vision, which is what we are seeing in our local gov't!
Blessings to the truth-speakers and all the Patriots and Matriots in our midst!😇
My experience in private industry indicates that CEO's are incapable of embarrassment. In addition, they have no understanding of the product or service their corporation provides. Since they are narcissistic their defense mechanisms are very strong.
Your observations mirror my experience with so-called leadership, Steve. Their only defense is deflection, or silence; underlings do not have a "need to know", as leadership walks away in total failure, golden parachute in-hand.
Corruption's deep, corruptions wide...it is all over...on either side...there is only truth and then the lies...it's up to us to open our eyes...insist on truth through our weary sighs...!😎
This maybe what these CEO's do all over the countryside, just trade positions with others and nobody discloses wrong doings from the past.Just start the same debacle all over and over again because of no accountability or charges filed.
Thank you for your investigative thoughts. Certainly the article in the PDN yesterday was useless info when it came to this issue! Let us hope that OMC can survive this fiasco. And Jeff, it looks like you are "it" to keep them on the straight and narrow! It looks like Sequim is slowly responding to the Seal St. "Park" issue you raised. And you can read that Pastor's statement in the SG. Thank you Jeff for motivating our community!
That picture of Darryl Wolfe leaving is disturbing. It shows an utter lack of understanding on the part of employees as to why they are in the situation they are in. If the employees don't know or don't care the problem is bigger than leadership, it's culture.
I can guarantee if I ran my business into the ground and had to quit, no one would be applauding and giving me high 5's.
Exactly. The management has not been doing their job. Which means to me they should not be receiving any exit pay, retirement years credit and any other benefits since they were not doing their job.Early on it was reported Wolfe was being considered at $250 per hour plus who knows what else by the board until a interim was found. WTF. You are even considering someone you who oversaw this situation for years. Going forward the biggest problem for the hospital, and more importantly the residents is in recruitment of responsible people. Who would want to walk into this situation.
Giving this guy high 5's as he's leaving because he completely mismanaged multi million dollars of public money and severely diminished the trust a whole community has in it's healthcare is disgusting. The employees are brazenly flaunting their disrespect for tax payers.
As remember being a former employee... "don't want to hire anyone that might shake things up", also propagated the "team approach"... if your a Manager, don't need to know the details, your "team" will "take care of it"! Total inefficiencies & chaos! AND a HR dept unable to resolve issues...
I attended last night's OMC meeting and present this synopsis.
Olympic Medical Center presented information on Federal Statement of Deficiencies at last nights meeting, Aug20, 2025. The power point presentation stated that the following citations have been resolved:
Suicidal Ideation Screening, Suicide Precautions, elopement Prevention, Environmental Safety Checks, Appropriate orders for application of Involuntary Treatment Act, Physical hold restraint, Chemical restraint, restraint orders, Face-to-face evaluation for patients in violent restraint or seclusion, Restraints Plan of Care, Document handoffs among care team members, Document correct order mode for verbal orders, Document bolus administration completion, Document pain medication per orders, Document pain assessments and re-assessments, Document daily weights per order, Document skin injury protection,Document hygiene care, Document triage in Emergency Department (ED), Document focused assessments in ED, Document initial assessment of the obstetric patient in the ED for post partem hypertension, document American Association of Anesthesiologists (ASA) score prior to moderate sedation, Consent to treat for newborns, Document newborn assessments and re-assessments, Document initial system assessments prior to C-section, Document assessments after C-section per orders, Document neraxial opiod monitoring per order, Ensure expired supplies are removed, Nasopharyngeal scope reprocessing, Process updates and repairs identified by fire marshal, Safe Patient Handling Program, and Quality Management System.
Presentation was made by Liz Uraga, Director of Quality Who also commented on future strategies to be in compliance Federal and state requirements. Emphasis was placed on documentation and procedures.
Introduction of Mark Gregson as interim Chief Executive Officer at $12500 per week salary or $650,000 yearly. I hope he has a magic wand.
Agreed! ...but if you'd worked there as I DID (past tense) for 13 years, you would understand the incompetencies & lack of transparency run rampant throughout the organization... Sad because many good providers & staff that need jobs, yet no leadership or Commisser assistance.
The only way I've found is on the OMC website / about / commissioners / board minutes / 2025 board packets ... there is a 72 page pdf document on all the recent meetings.
I emailed Ann about posting current status & she says"been thiking about it". Yesterday was the first day I found this posted.
There is a Director of Quality Control at OMC? How was so many procedures were not getting done correctly or not even done at all? Who is overseeing the Director of Quality Control? Whoever they are, they should be fired immediately!
I would love to have the portion of my property tax going to the hospital refunded to me! I can spend my money more efficiently than anyone at the top of OMC. There doesn’t seem to be anyone at the top half of that administration who knows how to spend money effectively. They should be ashamed of themselves, but of course they won’t because I’m sure they sleep well at night on top of the mattress filled up with $$$ under it.
That's a hell of a list of citations!! It makes you wonder if any of those issues contributed to patient harm and/or deaths?? Maybe that's a future investigation for CCW.
Uh, too much bureaucracy perhaps? What a nightmare for those who are diligent and always do the right thing the best they can. Procedures. Too many, but CYA is the new reality.
The best solution will mean a complete takeover of OMC, not a partnership. The board, management and HR all have to go as they have shown they are either not being transparent or they are incompetent. Thank you Jeff for telling the story in the face of so many cheerleaders insisting to the public that it’s not true.
It looks like all top brass from OMC stepped down to collect their lucrative severance $$$ so 'they would not have to be held accountable for their incompetent actions.'Why were these people allowed to run OMC into trouble without proper oversight for so long?Oversight group just as incompetent as others.Personal reasons for stepping down is a lame excuse to avoid answering questions for your failures.
Well the current situation lays with the leadership that is walking away. 19 years at the helm and this is the result? Others also leaving? Don't want to face the music?
12,500…..$650,000 per year! All because of OMC management, because of the people who are getting paid top salaries that are now saying adios, bye bye, we love you but now is perfect time to ditch and run. They are resigning because if they stayed they would have been fired, have a fight on their hands with no income to fight for retirement and benefits all the while unemployable because of a firing. Been there done that a million times with troubled workers. Well ain’t that just swell. The board was complaisant & should have fired those responsible for bad business decisions long ago that caused this terrific financial mess. In my 39 year career of investigative/fact finding work there is always someone at fault who calls the shots, who allows decisions to be made or not. A sugar coated wave wouldn’t be in order more appropriate a🖕. Jeff perhaps you can report what their compensations will be for their misdeeds, I’m sure it’s staggering and we the taxpayers will get to pay for it all and much more for years to come. Their egregious management we will pay for dearly in Clallam County one way or the other.
A prequalification here in that I believe a specialist, ( consultant ), from outside our State needs to be engaged. What I learned during our "pandemic" that was not a pandemic was hospital managers, whatever title they may hold, manipulated data via "coding" illness in favor of whatever illness paid best. You may recall when COVID surfaced, ( more in the media than in reality ), our Government offered financial bonuses for COVID diagnoses and treatments. At that same time and for the first time in history normally reliable influenza diagnoses impossibly disappeared. Our Government paid out roughly $ 300 billion. It may be that the OMC manager took the moral high ground and did not miss-code diagnoses, loosing out on the Government offered bribes. I don't know and I'm pretty confident somewhere between a few people to no people know. I'm also confident you cannot find a hospital manager anywhere that would admit they falsely coded cases for the money. Hence; we need a specialist.
YEP! and YEP! True story about the collusion within the entire medical establishment which was manipulated to actually kill people while making big bucks...I know many will never believe it...but it IS the Truth!
The courageous truth speakers were shunned, censored and silenced...some permanently...Kary Mullis (the inventor of the PCR test who said it could not be used the way it was being used, for ANY proper diagnoses) for one!😎
See: YT; (Dr. Kary Mullis, Inventor of the PCR test, explains Fauci has a....)🥸
Who's the real problem with OMC ? We the People are by not holding the people accountable who work for the people . Democracy is a tough form of government because the people have to be involved in it by going to the meetings as a community not just one or two people where even the board who's paid doesn't even show up or you get the example of OMC a once good hospital that turned into a 9-5 hospital with no one running it a free for all with no supervision .Doctors not even looking at patients ,but billing Medicare full examination fee.One doctor who was changing patient status to DNR since then they have been terminated because complaints was filed to the state by me and others .Spending millions a year on Zoom Doctors living in other countries ? Firing a whole staff of doctors because of one pedo who was abusing young girls who OD. Not having proper equipment being more of a clinic so people have to take a 50 k helicopter flight or ambulance but calling its self a hospital? So people who pay taxes for the hospital have to go elsewhere for treatment so every year they lose more and more $$ because no one goes there because of the bad rep .
so Wolfe gets applauded for his failures to lead and correct the problems long ago. No oversight?. A rat abandoning the ship instead of showing the leadership and fixing the problems. He got a significant increase in pay by the "board of commisioners" for his ineptness and failure. Probably got a golden parachute too. What is wrong with the people applauding his failures??? Zombies.
Today OMC is in the hot seat, But allow me to wander back to yesterday's article. Is the "ball" in our court? Your pic, question to the Fair leadership, the response from the fair personnel to Eric's letter. Do we stop at this point? or press the issue with the Fair's attorney? Are we just a squeaky wheel? or do we need to proceed to show them how we can work together to solve our community's problems? So that in 2026 the word to a vendor is now, "this is the contract you have signed, don't abide by the dress code, and other items listed in the code and you the vendor will be escorted out by the Sheriffs department." Period end of discussion. The water steward battle showed us one way. So many issues to keep us on our toes. What message do we need to convey to OMC? How can we work to keep the doors of OMC open? Whatever and whomever lit the fire under the Pastor to make the remarks (re. Seal St.) to the Sequim City Council - Huzzah! We can make progress on these issues. Hope Jeff, that your booth was inundated with new subscribers.
Lets hope the Water Steward Position is over. But like a "State Income Tax" that has been soundly defeated and is Unconstitutional it keeps being brought forward by the bureaucracy that needs to keep expanding to ensure an ever expanding state employee voter base and insure pork funding. CEO, CFO, COO all gone at once seems the iceberg has been hit and the boat is listing severely. An $12k per week interim Manager seems to me like more of an "appraiser". How bad are things and what's the value of the business.
without a working press (meaning NOT PDN) we cannot possibly stay informed. So, thankfully Substack exists, and people are beginning to wake up. Thank you, Jeff.
It's never over for these entities...the water issue will resurface because it IS an issue...the question is how and by who it is managed...not like the state is uncorrupt as a resource manager.
We do need competent supervision because we are NOT wise enough to balance all the competing issues without a moral compass...what is right and wrong is pretty clear cut from a Higher Perspective, it's a secular, 'relative' culture that makes it impossible to manage things in a balanced way!😊
Why would we expect the people who want a water steward position not to regroup and come at this issue once more? But, be aware that it may take a different format. The Sequim City Council is going to be taking up the issue of LIDS and this may be the opening the pro-water stewards are looking for. Maybe the issue looming is that any areas on their own water well/ septic sewer will want to join into City or County water projects and become incorporated. So maybe the Cities and County will make a joint move next time and avoid the CCRC and ask the county to move forward. Just saying that's all. Good point on the new manager at OMC - just maybe, perhaps, his credentials are "I can oversee the orderly dismantling of this hospital." There are CEO's in the business world with that reputation - downsizing a company to make it appealing to purchase or to .... again just saying.
Mark Gregson.... um.. today while at a clinic, a long term experienced Nurse, been with OMC for over 31 years... been through the "rotating door"... fabulous clinician... everyone that works for her loves her! So Mark's first day on job... emails employees "we all have to save our supplies"... REALLY? How many of us have experienced a new leader that starts out this way after accepting a huge contracting job with no liability? Crazy!
"Personal reasons" sure can mean a great many things for any Individual who prematurely resigns their employment position~! Historically, it used to be extremely uncommon for Individuals who were still in their prime of life to resign from an extremely high paying job that took them decades to achieve, however "we" (Americans) have in fact witnessed a MASSIVE exodus of middle-aged Individuals in the business world and the political/government arena doing precisely that. Why~? As an old school Personnel exec. I know that the thousands of Individuals who have resigned from their coveted employment positions over the past 10 years or so is WAY out of line with the well documented "normal" historic figures. To folks like me who have a lot of experience in the Personnel field, there is very clearly something FAR more important going on behind this ridiculous gaslighting of "for personal reasons" BS~! Ha~! What are the statistical odds that the clearly struggling OMC would lose at least three high profile management people "for personal reasons" all within the same general timeline~? Who and/or what is REALLY behind this mass exodus of relatively young high-profile Individuals "self-terminating" (?) their extraordinary positions of money, power, and control that they had previously occupied~? I suppose that to the layperson who has little or no experience in the professional employment community this may entirely escape their attention and at best they would come up with ridiculously flawed "explanations/reasoning" but to folks like me there is absolutely no doubt that something FAR greater has been and is still obviously unfolding. For folks who are still struggling to see the corruption within our society, there can be no better proof then when "we" see a mass exodus of management personnel at the extraordinary historic levels that we have been seeing for many years now. The proof is right in front of us... We have even seen a large number of federal government politicians leaving office before their terms expired and/or refusing to run for another term, or other offices, which is a MASSIVE "red flag" especially when they are middle aged Individuals~! For Americans who are struggling to see any "good news" the proof of that good news is right in their faces if they bother to consider the evidence that is readily available ;-) I do find it absolutely absurd and a clearly contrived "public relation stunt", that the "useful idiots" would be assembled for such an obviously silly staged "cheerleading exercise" for the Wolfe's sudden departure from the local "chicken coop"~! HA~! Is there STILL anyone stupid enough not to see that for the PR spin that it obviously was~? Farewell Wolfe, and don't let the door hit ya as you leave your "sheep's clothing" behind~! Will he be criminally prosecuted in the future, or is that what is really going on now~? The OMC has some good folks working within the system and they as well as the folks within our community deserve better. It really would not take much to find honorable experienced Personnel executives who could correct the corruptions and related issues of the OMC. This will never be done as long as the shady criminals and crooks who have been in control of the OMC are still in control~! God willing "we" have suffered enough to force the needed changes for the better~!

And will probably get another similar job elsewhere and repeat all over again.
This maybe what these CEO's do all over the countryside, just trade positions with others and nobody discloses wrong doings from the past.Just start the same debacle all over and over again because of no accountability or charges filed.
I suspect that is correct unfortunately. Perhaps Wolf will become a consultant.
I wonder if the incident will ruin Wolfe's resume.
Thank you for your investigative thoughts. Certainly the article in the PDN yesterday was useless info when it came to this issue! Let us hope that OMC can survive this fiasco. We obviously don't need these 'CEOs' if they can only run things into the dirt.
We need CPA's (with ethics board with teeth overseeing) running these 'corporations' and some military medical admins to keep some order.
Hope and pray, cause that's all we got at this point!😎
DOGE would walk in, but the corrupt judicial would block the reality that needs to happen!
Same old song-and-dance!💃🕺🤪
The photo made me vomit. Why are the sheep applauding the man who put a black mark on their organization?
Yes, truly! He has a bunch of "friends" there!

A few new subscribers, but what I learned at the fair is that this County already knows about CCWD and is ready to engage.
The water stewardship issue is not over, it is being sent to our County Commissioners as a "recommendation".
Sincerely, Mike
