He was told the County does not pay Cascadia. Three weeks earlier, you had approved a payment to Cascadia of more than $60,000.
He was told the County was not in a contract with Cascadia. It was.
He was told that if a contract existed, it had begun more than 14 months earlier. You signed the contract only six months before that conversation—after sitting through a 30-minute presentation with Cascadia.
If you dispute John’s account, or mine, I will gladly apologize and publish your explanation in full.
I think French starred on the old show To Tell the Truth where they guessed who was telling the truth. He was the liar stand in for the show. I knew I recognized him when i moved here.
French is smart enough to try and look smart. He is as adept at looking smart. But his policy comes from above him so no matter how smart he tries to look his policy will always be dumb.

Perhaps the program called Recompete should be more accurately called, "Don't You Dare Compete!" It's hard enough to start a business without your competitor getting his equipment for free. French must think we are stupid.

The decks are so stacked right now, nothing gets past the 'iron wall'. The only way out won't be fast, but a start is to elect honest people. I start with Jack Seegers and Virginia Shogren. So far, I know who I want to vote for, and who I won't vote for, the rest I'm waiting to hear more on in comments and articles from CCWD as the elections progress.

The whole background screen stuff starts from there. Eberlie's wife and Ozais' wife kept saying my "conspiracy theory" was "tin foil." They would say it all the time. Worthington is "tinfoil." Then I started using background screens and that ruined the "tin foil" narrative. They thought using agitated housewives could protect a "duck pond" and every other questionable project (Towne Road).
She is chasing me down the hall for using print out boards to show the people. She understood why the back ground screens were taken away...and there I was live in front of the camera proving it wasn't "tinfoil." They also removed the camera view to keep print outs from being shown to the public.
I am a crackpot, because I was a threat to......a duck hunting pond. This dude Randy Johnson is negotiating to build a duck pond using federal money intended for salmon and I come along with this Jimmycomelately salmon stuff...his own Jimmycomelately stuff..something that won't help ducks... Clallam County is the lead applicant for the $35.6 million Recompete grant. Local small, family-owned businesses already generate the sales, property, and other taxes that fund county government.
Public documents show a Recompete subaward that will purchase a hydroseeder and mini excavator so Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s commercial enterprise can enter hydro-seeding as a new line of business. Local operators already do this work. Those operators bought their own equipment with savings, loans, and revenue. Those same operators pay the taxes that support the county.
What is the Board’s message to those taxpaying small businesses when the county-managed grant is used to fund startup equipment for a competitor that does not face the same tax burden, and then both bid in the same small market?
A clear public answer is requested on how this use of Recompete funds serves, rather than undercuts, the local tax base the Board represents.
I don't know Jeff, but somehow I have a strange feeling you will never, never, ever, ever be acknowledged. It's a shame, especially for Mike French, he has the opportunity to put his goals and achievements out to over 4,000 subscribers without the fear of editing. IMO it is a huge lost opportunity he could have used.

Oh boy. This was especially hard to listen to today. Please everyone……support our small businesses such as Washburn services. They have an excellent reputation and I highly recommend their company. While I am at it I highly recommend another small business….Cowan concrete. Both are excellent at communication, professional, reliable and fair pricing. Why can’t recompete find actual needs of our community like another glass company as they are all weeks out. Or landscaping companies. Window washers. Cleaners. Etc. they could actually help a person launch a business in any of these areas and they would be absolutely busy from the get go. And the going rates today for all of these services certainly would be in that family wage job arena. And the person would be a business owner at the same time and eventually could grow their business to start employing others.
I learn so much more listening, than reading, the CCWD. Jeff consistently ties in so many points of how messed up our county is with the spider web of self-serving interests.
It would be interesting to know just how much money the state and county is losing with all the tribal exemptions, property, vehicles , fish tax and then add that to all the money the state and county and government see fit to delegate to them ? I’m assuming the amount would be breathtaking all to pay for something none of us are responsible for!
The abuse to the generations of tax payers feels never ending. The Tribe keeps taking as long as they can get someone (Ozias) on their side to keep giving. It’s not like they don’t have resources, but the continual money leaching from the rest of us is getting old. Only through the commissioners will this robbery end. Go Jake! We don’t take care of our Vets, disabled, working single parents with low income, but the spoiled Tribe gets a free ride. It doesn’t endear us to this sovereign nation. You can be sure the three local contractors paid sales tax to the state for all their equipment purchases ,You can be sure they paid state sales tax on all their job materials, You can be sure they paid state license tabs and tonnage for their vehicles, You can be sure they did not receive fuel discounts, You can be sure they did not get preferential advantage on local contracts.

In a tiny corner of the U.S.A., at the NW end of Washington state, the commissioners use our tax money to do favors for the local Tribe-- who do not pay taxes-- so they out-compete the tax-paying businesses. The Tribe then returns the favor and ensures that the commissioners get re-elected. This madness must stop. I am asking you folks to investigate this graft and cronyism.
Most people don't realize that fascism relies heavily on crony corporatism: the merging of state dominance with favored industrial powers. That is what happens when real walls aren't placed between the state and big-money insiders (high rollers in our county). The true purpose of regulation should be regulate the cronies. Instead, the little guy, individuals, and families end up being the ones fleeced, taxed, and squeezed by overregulation. It is so ironic given how many current leaders push socialist-leaning policies. But as history shows, even systems using socialist rhetoric (Germany in the 30s) quickly turn into elite-driven authoritarian regimes. Why don't they teach this history in school? I wonder.
I will continue to advocate for a PIU - public integrity unit. I have seen it work (in person) in another state/county. The unit would stand independently of the commissioners and prosecutor here.
Thank you, Jeff, for continuing to bring more information forward for the public. There are so many funding sources flowing into this county, and they are extremely difficult to track. As we research, we’re finding that many of these funding streams are interconnected, and the same names appear again and again across different grants and organizations.
We can look up some of their Form 990s, but those filings are often one or two years behind. And even then, only organizations above certain financial thresholds are required to file them. When people do find audit reports attached to those 990s, they’re seeing major exceptions — reporting issues, missing documentation, untraceable funds, and a lack of meaningful accountability.
In my opinion, either these organizations are hiring accounting staff who don’t understand grant reporting requirements, or there is a dismissive attitude toward compliance. I don’t know which it is, but the result is the same. When deficiencies are identified, the organizations often state they will correct them in the next reporting cycle — which means the public won’t know whether anything was actually fixed for another year or two.
I encourage every resident listening or reading today to look into these matters. These are public funds, and we have every right to know how they are being used. The majority of these dollars should not be absorbed by staffing and benefits; they should be going toward the stated goals of the programs. Transparency and accountability are not optional — they are fundamental to public trust.

I remember that meeting, and I recall the stark responses to John Worthington from Mike French and cohorts that had me second guessing the mental accuity of John...and John was right.
When John Worthington speaks, it's no bullshit. He doesn't play political favorites. He's of immense value to Clallam County that AI can't even compete with. The dismissive attitude that is displayed when John speaks is inappropriate. I wonder if it violates the OPMA if the thrust is "to inform" which suggests being neutral and listening, then making a decision.
