Why are people "spin doctors"? We all do this, alone and in groups. "Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your neighbor, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye' while the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor's eye" (Matthew 7:3-5).
When someone, or a group, is causing harm, they have to deflect, twist the story, and cover their tracks just to keep their own character intact in their own eyes. That's what makes it all so confusing to watch from outside.
We see the same pattern at the political level. A group will end up justifying harm done to their own neighbors, because admitting it would mean admitting who they are.
That's the twisted story of mankind, repeating itself.
Jesus gives the way out: ask forgiveness, repent, pray for your enemy. That works for a person. Does it work for a group? Maybe, if the person at the top is willing to lead that way.
But our society is litigious, and most groups, and most individuals, won't choose the spiritual path when the legal one is available.
So the hard truth we've learned is that people in power only listen when you show them the law, and even then, only if the violation is bad enough to matter. That's not the way of the kingdom. It's just the way of the world we've built.
Jake and Jeff, stand strong. Integrity is what this moment calls for.
"Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If a political opponent moves from divisive rhetoric, praise him! Ultimately, people are looking for honest, common sense leaders. From my experience, Jake's got that quality.
Today I am totally confused on the race between Jake and Mike. In all the chats from French on issues and his job so far I have heard NOTHING about his accomplishments in CC politics or monetary production for taxpayers. He has not provided any leadership that makes CC a better place to live. I find the common denominator in the dems actions and comments is they only throw mud at people and have NO positive track record to brag about. Looking for answers that never come only changing the topic u want an answer to. As we choose our next commissioner I want someone who can verbalize his agenda and help this CC prosper. So far Jake is the only one that has put that forward. Frenchie were waiting!
Mike French is a continuation of the progressive party economy which holds the nose of its economy, while its citizens stand on x's, wear mask's and have the oppressed shoved in their faces.
He has blocked background screens and pizza emoji's. He thinks someone who breaches a levy and makes 12 piles of logs behind the breach is an "expert" he can trust. He was not appropriated money for the software to collect all the federal grant dollars and left grant money on the table. He has refused federal grants because they can't get one without violating the terms with the restorative justice model they run here. So its after the homeowner Olympics.
His economy, is a plan to give all the opportunities to people who are not qualified for them, and ride their coattails of success its their turn to have..which means its coming by truck and ship, while they chant and clip.
