The commissioners have taken the generosity and kindness of a rural community and used it against us turning the whole county into a NGO free for all taxing us at every turn and if not raising taxes they raise the value of our property sometimes above the actual value to squeeze ever last dollar they can to support non working drug using people that they bus in for free, we are bursting at the seams with out of town addicts if you make life easy they will come and the county will never get enough money to support them all.

Powerful article today Jeff. I just dont understand the audacity of French to continue undermining the will of the people. We voted NO tax lifting of the limit. French u lost. More money won’t fix anything as long as we are on the path we are heading. When does the piggy bank stop leaking all these programs of freebies for the bums that freeload the system. I find French very scary in his decisions on MY money. Has he helped CC become a better place to reside? I don’t think so. Jake will at least try to fulfill that duty if elected.

We all hoped that our Social Contract would continue to serve and support the best among us.

Unfortunately, harm redistribution is harming ALL of us: whether they notice, or not!!!

Mike French’s version of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (Movie 2002 A true story about a con artist)

FRENCH: “I show up”... what follows?

THE CON: Throughout his term, he has voted for property-tax increases in every budget cycle and approved permit fee hikes.

FRENCH: “Balance is the Key” Harm Reduction Health Center summary, celebrating the 25th year of the county’s Syringe Service Program. Indivisible members, backed by the LWV say, “good science must not be bullied.”

THE CON: Those who agree with Health Officer Allison Berry and Commissioner Mike French may be permitted a two-way dialogue with Board of Health members. (What happened to Balance is the Key?)

FRENCH: has enthusiastically supported and directed substantial public resources toward “housing affordability”. North View, a 36-unit permanent supportive housing project.

THE CON: This project is designed primarily for chronically homeless individuals with addiction and criminal-justice involvement.

FRENCH: “I support local businesses”

THE CON: French works to expand the county’s ability to raise property taxes, he also wants to restrict how private owners generate income from their own land.

Economic Barriers. August 18, 2026.

Our Clallam County commissioner, Michael French, has a wonderful idea. We are going to log and oversee those citizens who have short term rentals. This sounds imposing. I have a different approach. How about enforcing the law prohibiting camping on public property, illegal drug use, and the waste and damage done with free drug supplies. We punish the lawful resident while ignoring the lawless.

Our county goals should include actions to improve the income of small businesses. Many people with short term income are needing this income to offset the steady rise in taxes and utility costs within our Clallam County. So, our County Commissioners want to make life more expensive, and more threatening, for our lawful residents.

Programs such as “Harm Reduction” are expensive and have failed to reduce the numbers addicted to harmful drugs. Instead we, as a society, have created a means to enable, and make dependency expand with the use of drugs and alcohol. Law enforcement is handicapped, and hampered by the lax enforcement of existing laws. Even the widespread environmental pollution from the wasted needles and drug supplies is overlooked.

What should a society desire? A focus on increasing the quality of life for all citizens. This means programs with measurable standards to reduce drug dependency, and lawlessness. Support the lawful citizen trying to survive an overreaching, and imposing, government. Make Clallam County a place that encourages small business, and personal profit. This will not happen if our governing body expands the invasive power of control of small businesses. Accent the positive, eliminate the negative.

Six years ago NGO was a foreign acronym to me. "What is an NGO?" I kept thinking. At first I didn't see the big deal. Non profits were Ronald McDonald House, Goodwill, Food Bank, Churches and the ACLU or NAACP. Two years ago DOGE exposed the NGO grift. That people were De-Banked, had media accounts shut down and were scolded or worse for questioning the science was just wrong. That NGO's were being funded to the tunes of billions by all sorts of nefarious actors and our OWN TAX DOLLARS just seemed preposterous. Declassified documents are showing the damage caused. Washington State doubles down. The corruption and rot is absolute. Ferguson is smarter and meaner than Inslee which was on display as he bankrupted small businesses that operated on Biblical principles or crushed opposing political voices whenever able.

Electing Jake Seegers would be the first step in trying to restore common sense. I'll.see you at the fair. I'll be making a campaign contribution.

The September issue of Atlantic magazine has an entire article on the failure of Seattle and Harm Reduction.

Maybe Clallam County could get a write up in the Economist or WSJ. Just think of the attention we’d get.

Oh, it wouldn’t be good attention but our commissioners don’t seem to be looking for that. They just want a long period of time for statistic free , and then money exchanging hands actually works well in Clallam County.

Oh I know, going to the furthest NW corner of the country, good hiding place.

He doesn't have the jobs to support any of his policies.

He is never going to get jobs, because..willing seller willing buyer.

That is how you change the racial make-up of a community and acquire rich Communists and Muslim's that understand the people have to wear the obey mask and stand on the x...to keep them in line and away from ever being an Oligarch or any kind of elite..

John we are there. If you don’t agree with the bandits of CC political coalition u are bashed by them Look at the lies and crap they are throwing at Jake personally. The corrupt bandits will try to win at all cost. The OMC, land grabs, safe parking lots, drug supplies, free housing,Crime gone wild, no consequences for crime, tax and spend policies have us on the brink of bankruptcy if we don’t stop the gravy train. That said my coffee will be extra hot today.

I really don't think Berry had a death threat, those people go after Trump supporters..

Jeff is correct, one can throw needles anywhere with no consequence. But watch out because apparently you can't pick them up without harassment now. https://youtube.com/shorts/aYZVBlAzK5M?is=LqMCKY753-3U9vtl

Thank you @Jeff Tozzer!!! Very important and useful content!

I see the greater regulation is simply giving controll of what people do with their personal property. The three stooges' end game is more regulation, more taxation, more process and more procedures, which results in greater government dependence for things we haven'teven yet dreamt. The increasing dependence then justifies even more government taxing and spending, which facilitates growing the Commissioners' Socialist empire.

After living in a neighborhood with short term rentals, I am all in on a cap or an outright ban. It has been a horrible experience dealing with the owners and the renters in our neighborhood. We have had people get into the neighbors house, parties, and speed driving. They really can ruin a nice neighborhood.

Good morning Jeff and Doggers,

Wow, very disturbing sound bite from Jake Seegers! If only Dr. Very would pay attention to the trail of destruction her so called science brings to Clallam County. It's a long list when you include her mandates for Covid in 2020 and how she stuck to her guns after CDC switched gears .

Mike French and the Socialist/Marxist leadership in this county and state won't be satisfied until our leaders are all tribal Mafia. I truly hope we can put an end to the corrupt system we are pinned under.

I've said it before but Mark Ozias is the biggest reason for the decline in our beautiful county.

Whoops just fell off the soapbox.

Thanks all and please have a wonderful day.

But Jeff, your STR also supported two $1,200 contributions to Jake Seegers' campaign.

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

Those were refunded.

Ron Richards's avatar

But not because the checks bounced, because you exceeded the maximum allowable contributions. Your STR earned enough to cover those contributions, and evidently your taxes and your insurance costs.

jedjennings50's avatar

Ron this nit picking Jeff doesn’t help cure the corruption we have in this CC. We watch money disappear to all the little side shows these people serve on other boards. U worry about a contribution. Try worrying about bankruptcy in CC seems much more of an issue. Where do we hold the people in charge accountable for their spending?

John Worthington's avatar

He gets his face on Zoom TV, if he carries the ball in the open field..

Ron Richards's avatar

Very true, it is nitpicking. But Jeff's comment was poor mouthing, when the circumstances do not justify it. Regulating STRs to a reasonable degree will not send Jeff to the poorhouse.

John Worthington's avatar

But, again...where are these "homebuyers" going to work??? What job are they going to get that pays them over the 54 thousand Colleen with coffee requirement???

No, it will be one of those new homebuyers assisted by NGO's that pay out to minorities for loans they don't have to pay back.

Ron, I know you would rather see your face on Zoom than not. But when you pick up the real estate ball, you have to tend goal for the restorative justice wing of the progressive party. The same cabal that is taking county land..and changing the racial make up of communities because they are tooo male and too pale...

"Turning power and resources over to people of color." They wrote it..... they wrote other stuff, its what they are doing...Porter.. Rondeaux have told us so.. Even you have been caught in the land grab line without a picture on Zoom of course..
