Well, in my opinion, if the tribe chooses not to comment to the letter that was written, basically asking for help then I believe we shouldn’t Transfer any more lands into private trust. Wasting money on a poet Laureate when we could be using that money for something more productive. These ridiculous commissioners have to go! and the only way we’re gonna do that as we all have to ban together and vote them out then maybe Clallam County can get back on its feet with true leaders for the people instead of back door deals that we as taxpayers don’t get to vote on.

Robert James's avatar

Voting them out is a joke...the elections are rigged and the damage done in the cycles of time between elections is going to be the end of any sovereignty...When a govt' goes bankrupt they are then beholden to 'banksters' who 'bail them out' and local control goes out the window. Using the broken system to fix the broken system is insane.😎

What you left out in this article, Jeff, was your outstanding detailed comment about the unnecessary excessive spending by the Board. You summarily exposed their bad financial decisions and made them confront their ineptitude and greed. You were very, very impressive, Jeff. Many people attended the meeting yesterday, mostly about the RV ordinance vote, only to be told it's been postponed until January 20th. At least a few were able to give their comments in the first round. Those who stayed were able to voice their opposition to these 2 out of 3 property tax hikes. And despite our objections, those three hamsters still voted to pass the increases. Tax and spend, tax and spend. They just don't have the collective intelligence to get off that hamster wheel. We'll keep showing up, and we'll keep pushing back, and we'll keep fighting for our right to live freely in our own community without the vise of unfair and unrepresented taxation.

Most of us have spent our whole lives believing there are rules. Turns out there aren’t. CC commissioners are showing us the way, disregard the rules you don’t like. None of this ends until we the citizens say it does and that might not be in the way we’ve spent our whole lives believing. CC commissioners are showing us the way.

Lets all jump in..I''ll be Crackpot, and Wackadoodle laureate.

Jeff can be the "asshole" laureate. Eric can be the Hell with Stoffer laureate. Karin can be the "we don't understand" laureate.

John Worthington's avatar

We may even have a diaper head laureate on the roster someplace.

Robert James's avatar

Shit runs wide and deep, gonna need a lot of diapers to clean it up!

"No shit, he said/thought as he looked into the diaper bin of CCKommissars repositorial transfiguration of non-existent celibacy related past participle commutation of what they/they constitute a constitution, which is to say....NOTHING!"

How's that for an opener?🥸. $1000 please!🙏🏼

May I also suggest:

It fits on a T-shirt. lol

It is still a mystery to me how anyone can do a proper job when setting on so many local boards etc. and then take on a state wide position.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

It’s no mystery. It’s like multitasking. The definition of doing several things poorly simultaneously.

Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation: Since the gravitational force is directly proportional to the mass of BOTH INTERACTING OBJECTS, more massive objects WILL ATTRACT EACH OTHER WITH A GREATER GRAVITATIONAL FORCE.

Commissioner Mark Ozias has proven the laws of physics. Given enough interacting objects, a turd can roll uphill by the gravitational force of bigger turds.

You can’t polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter.

Does the Commissioners Board Meetings resemble the painting, The Last Supper?

If land acquisition goes through as planned and dark skies actually kicks in at the level they want it too.

Jennifer's avatar

John, not without a fight. My favorite line:

Scarlett: As God is my witness, they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill...

It couldn’t possibly. That would indicate a belief in the ten commandments and being judged when your time comes.

Living without a subconscious, makes life easy for our commissioners.

Okay, talk about no sense of ethics. Jim Stoffer shares a confidential email with others, and instead of him getting consequences from that, they change the email to reflect it wasn’t confidential. “But officer I was only 20 miles over the limit”. That’s fine sir, we will change this from a 30 mph road to a 50mph road.”

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

Terrific analogy.

4 reasonable development's avatar

Susan I kind of misunderstood the CRC meeting and the vote to make the client privilege letter public. Let me explain if I may. I went back and watched the zoom recording and the motion to make public only cleared the way to quit talking about the email that was breeched, whether or not it was protected but client/attorney privilege. Getting that part of the discussion out of the way leaves the important question only, did Stoffer violate OPMA? Certainly he did otherwise why would they have to take a vote as a board to release it? The second part that needs to get resolved is the only question….again…..”DID STOFFER VIOLATE OPMA?” I feel Dee is being extra careful because he already knows the answer but he wants to make sure to protect the County. One of the Commissioners needs to make a motion asking for Stoffer to resign. He should have been censored but the deck is stacked & probably would not have passed. Just my opinion.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

Well that is some interesting details. But he does have a past history that doesn’t speak highly of his integrity. It’s like so many things in life, we judge then seek info later. Usually those initial impressions are right, sadly. Thank you.

Our Public Health Officer, who focuses intently on the next viral outbreak, has missed the most obvious virus in Clallam County. Quarantine Commissioner Ozias before he infects the rest of the state from his radical positions. The state must be warned. Do your job, Dr. 🍓

It needs to be loudly and clearly yelled that They are Our employess and need to work FOR us, not for outside influences. We hired them and we can fire them for bad work.

(And we cant forget the safe-park area in Sequim TUMC that allows 3 cars to park at night in the back of the church behind a rope. $100000 of tax money)

Evrita Romero's avatar

I know, I think we need to have a no Kings march for the CC commissioners!

John Lee Pettimore III's avatar

Hmmmmm......Isn't that Stoffers church? Isn't Stoffer the Head of Security at that church? Isn't part of that 100K grant to pay for security? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

Yes. Yes. And yes.

John Lee Pettimore III's avatar

One final question if I may, Is head of Security at TUMC a payed position?

Jeff Tozzer's avatar

I don't know that, but I'm doubtful that it's paid. At one time I could list the handful of employees there, but Jim wasn't one of them.

MK's avatar

There's no way it can cost as much as they got, so it's really a slush fund being used elsewhere.

If there was ever a display of the problems with how the Commissioners spend money without knowing what they're getting, or a requirement to see how it has been spent, it is this spot-on matter.

$500 toilet seats are next.

Dr. Sarah's avatar

@JohnWorthington, my heart broke hearing how upset you were. It makes sense you’ve been carrying this fight for a long time, often as the only voice in the wind, calling out what’s true and what’s harmful. That kind of endurance takes a toll.

But here’s the thing: when truth is spoken out of love and legitimate concern, it moves things. Maybe not instantly, maybe not even in the room where you’re saying it, but it moves people. Even Jesus had to repeat himself to the disciples over and over before they understood who he was. The impact wasn’t in whether they heard him every time; it was in the faithfulness of the message.

Prophets didn’t always make it to the Promised Land, but that didn’t mean the Promised Land wasn’t real. Speaking truth to power literally rewires the brain when power responds; it heals the truth-teller. When power refuses, it injures. So yes, it makes sense that your language slid into four-letter territory. That’s what trauma does when the load gets too heavy.

But don’t let that be the end of the story.

Shift the paradigm: You’re not just speaking to Commissioners who may or may not ever listen. You’re speaking to us — the ones standing on your shoulders, still believing we can change the trajectory. Your words aren’t wasted. They’re planting things in people downstream.

You haven’t been shouting into the void. You’ve been building a foundation that the rest of us are trying to stand on.

So eloquently written….yes John is a pillar of strength & knowledge. Dr. Sarah one day we will meet face to face & it will be an honor.

Kind words from a generation I have let walk into the muck. Professional kind words to boot. It means a lot.

I have cut more public promo's than Rick Flair on "Jimmycomelately science'. It's not a burden its a duty to my pioneer ancestors. I don't want to spread that on too thick but its a personal thing..what the town of Port Angeles meant to them. My mom graduating from the very spot I am speaking at. I went to school at that spot for three years. My Aunt's history..

I just got too close to Mr. Ozias and saw his face up close while I was talking_.. while I was looking into his eyes.... All of their eyes..I had to make them realize this was just not another "Jimmycomelately science' promo for them to roll their eyes at....So I went East Coast on them.

I keep hoping that we are all collectively in this nightmare / dream state where everything is backwards, where common sense seems to be fictitious. Unfortunately I know we are not. I'm a Gen Xer and it seems that most in "office" are as well...... and I'm just flabbergasted that we (collectively) are in this position. 5th generational warfare is real & we are eyeball deep in it. Lies and fantasy seem to be the norm and widely accepted. To not see that we are a nation/state/county in peril, to continue to keep blinders on to the long list of problems - drug use, homelessness, careless spending, over taxation, lack of transparency & accountability, non-support of our police / sheriff's depts., etc... - we are collectively setting ourselves up for failure, or worse - a nation state with no freedoms and no say. Proving the 5th Gen Warfare - try to publish anything against the current narrative in the PDN or main stream news..... you won't get far. Main stream media is complicit. That's why people like Jeff Tozzer and so many others are so important to ask questions, spread truth, and get the masses thinking again instead of just following in the brainwashed patterns that we see happening today!

4 reasonable development's avatar

Thank you Lisa your words are words of hope for all of us wanting a better life for everyone.

Keep the faith, Lisa!

Lisa Cornelson's avatar

It is a struggle, but I am winning. I have lots of faith that we are going to pull out of this, it's just that some days the "trenches" seem so deep. God created all of us at such a time as this so that we may experience it, realize it, work through it and remember so it does not happen again. Love & light to all & Happy Thanksgiving.

MK's avatar

I think many of us are ready to jump into the trench together and dig in unison. It's happening. Steady as she goes, steady as she goes...

Great song. The code of ethics having to go before the voters makes me sad. It’s like swearing in under oath at a trial, but then voting on whether or not people have to tell the truth. Just how low can we possibly sink? Rhetorical question, just look at the three blind mice.

MK's avatar

Two of the three commissioners have self-disclosed conflicts of interest, or possible conflicts of interest. Guess which one says nothing? If they all were simply transparent we wouldn't be in this fix.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

Did they self-disclose prior to election or conveniently after in office? Or maybe just kept getting elected to boards, come what may. Easier to ask forgiveness than permission! I truly hate that thinking.

They don’t ask forgiveness, just spin another “cover -my -a**

scenario.” Weak personalities mirror those that they associate with.

Susan C Bonallo's avatar

Oh boy, that a hard guess. I’ll have to contemplate the answer. Voters seem very disappointed when a person is elected that they supported, then those true personalities rear their heads. I say immunity to all. We can only go by the information we are fed prior to voting.

Or should I say the info we gagged down.

Herb Cook's avatar

Powdermonkey understood my first post. I intended to say that linking the value of a position (poet laureate in this case) to the politics of the person holding the position is wrong. In hindsight, I regret invoking Ezra Pound and using the word "fascist," which is always inflammatory. And no, Mr. Tozzer, I do not consider you a fascist. If I did, I would not subscribe to CCW.
