Well, in my opinion, if the tribe chooses not to comment to the letter that was written, basically asking for help then I believe we shouldn’t Transfer any more lands into private trust. Wasting money on a poet Laureate when we could be using that money for something more productive. These ridiculous commissioners have to go! and the only way we’re gonna do that as we all have to ban together and vote them out then maybe Clallam County can get back on its feet with true leaders for the people instead of back door deals that we as taxpayers don’t get to vote on.

What you left out in this article, Jeff, was your outstanding detailed comment about the unnecessary excessive spending by the Board. You summarily exposed their bad financial decisions and made them confront their ineptitude and greed. You were very, very impressive, Jeff. Many people attended the meeting yesterday, mostly about the RV ordinance vote, only to be told it's been postponed until January 20th. At least a few were able to give their comments in the first round. Those who stayed were able to voice their opposition to these 2 out of 3 property tax hikes. And despite our objections, those three hamsters still voted to pass the increases. Tax and spend, tax and spend. They just don't have the collective intelligence to get off that hamster wheel. We'll keep showing up, and we'll keep pushing back, and we'll keep fighting for our right to live freely in our own community without the vise of unfair and unrepresented taxation.

Most of us have spent our whole lives believing there are rules. Turns out there aren’t. CC commissioners are showing us the way, disregard the rules you don’t like. None of this ends until we the citizens say it does and that might not be in the way we’ve spent our whole lives believing. CC commissioners are showing us the way.

It is still a mystery to me how anyone can do a proper job when setting on so many local boards etc. and then take on a state wide position.

Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation: Since the gravitational force is directly proportional to the mass of BOTH INTERACTING OBJECTS, more massive objects WILL ATTRACT EACH OTHER WITH A GREATER GRAVITATIONAL FORCE.

Commissioner Mark Ozias has proven the laws of physics. Given enough interacting objects, a turd can roll uphill by the gravitational force of bigger turds.

You can’t polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter.

John, not without a fight. My favorite line:

Scarlett: As God is my witness, they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill...

It needs to be loudly and clearly yelled that They are Our employess and need to work FOR us, not for outside influences. We hired them and we can fire them for bad work.

(And we cant forget the safe-park area in Sequim TUMC that allows 3 cars to park at night in the back of the church behind a rope. $100000 of tax money)

If there was ever a display of the problems with how the Commissioners spend money without knowing what they're getting, or a requirement to see how it has been spent, it is this spot-on matter.

$500 toilet seats are next.

I don't know that, but I'm doubtful that it's paid. At one time I could list the handful of employees there, but Jim wasn't one of them.

Thanksgiving Facts: The first Thanksgiving was a 1621 feast: The initial Thanksgiving celebration took place in 1621 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, lasting for three days and involving the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag tribe.

"Jingle Bells" was a Thanksgiving song: Composer James Pierpont originally wrote "Jingle Bells" in 1857 as a song for children celebrating Thanksgiving, not Christmas.

Thanksgiving leftovers led to the TV dinner: In 1953, the Swanson company had an excess of turkey and created the first frozen TV dinner, a meal inspired by Thanksgiving leftovers.

It became a national holiday in 1863: Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday during the Civil War, largely due to the efforts of writer and activist Sarah Josepha Hale.

There are towns named Turkey: There are four towns in the U.S. with the name "Turkey" located in Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, and North Carolina.

There's a notable "Turkey" named Ozias that gobbles up other people's money in a place called Clallam County, Washington.

Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

My gut tells me the CCC have found the Sequim "rainy day fund" that sits at about $900,000. IMO they stiffed Sequim in the transfer of property from the County to Sequim. Although some moneys came with the deal some line entries in the 2026 budget show the "new" property has won big time?!. At Monday's meeting a Bruce Emery (sp?) spoke about transferring "beds" to Sequim - did Sequim just buy a big ticket future budget item? Nobody asked????? It's great to run unopposed. The trade off for voters is that Sequim may win the moratorium on the development above the Marina. You win some you lose some. And sometimes you kick the can down the road for future generations to solve.

Powdermonkey understood my first post. I intended to say that linking the value of a position (poet laureate in this case) to the politics of the person holding the position is wrong. In hindsight, I regret invoking Ezra Pound and using the word "fascist," which is always inflammatory. And no, Mr. Tozzer, I do not consider you a fascist. If I did, I would not subscribe to CCW.
