I suppose one could view the three as doing a good job at scratching each other's backs. Did French changed his tune on Towne Road to give him voting capital to be used later as in yesterday? Is this how these three operate?

It's why I've been supportive of a 5 commissioner board.

Congrats and thanks to Jake and Jeff for spearheading the petition drive, and bringing the heat on this issue. Obviously the only way real change can occur, on any and all issues related to the CCC, is both continue to bring the heat, and to vote the current members out of office -- no easy task given their entrenchment with powerful forces in the county.

I was proud to be among many good neighbors yesterday, trying to resist the bad process of the extraction of their life's energy, to please poor stewards of the public trust who seem to value pleasing a small number of unjust neighbors, over the mutual benefit we all ought to seek and enjoy.

Where is the measurable value in rewarding this overated NGO with ANY public funds?

Why would anyone vote for more of this disdain from our elected commissioners in the next election?

Thank you everyone who got down in the trenches and did the leg work. Also all supporters.New battles and old issues surround us.I know some would not use the local paper in the bottom of a bird cage.I read out of habit. The CC Health and Human Services is requesting $25,000 to create a report which should have been in hand years ago.It is absolutely mind boggling.Basically another study leading to no change.

thanks for mentioning this. Doesn't it seem like this report should have been the ongoing job of paid staff?

THERE ARE MANY MISINFORMED VOTERS WHO BELIEVE IT IS ONLY $5

...not just “five bucks”...“The measure will require property owners to pay roughly $2 million over the NEXT 10 YEARS but tribal parcels in federal trust will be exempt”...

WE DON’T CARE WHO YOU SLEEP WITH CHRISTY COX “...who attended the meeting wearing an “America Needs Lesbian Farmers” shirt” Being Lesbian does not make anyone a better farmer anymore that being Native makes for better land/water stewards. Wearing the Scarlet Letter ‘L’ shirt is insulting to the farming community.

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE A PSYCHIC, YOU NEED TO BE A CHESS PLAYER

...”The meeting was scheduled to conclude with a Commissioners’ Forum, a rare chance for the public to directly QUESTION THEIR ELECTED LEADERS. But because the meeting ran LONG, the forum was CANCELED”

Billy thank you, I didn't know exactly how that worked. If I didn't know, for sure there are many more less informed.

It's not hard to imagine that the CCD made some calls to generate support from their fam club. Unfortunately they lied, again, in order to put those poor people up to the task of saying uninformed things so that Commissioner Ozias could give greater weight to them.

If this doesn't spotlight the need to "clean house" next election then what does?

Ozias did again what he's done before when he suggested testimonials could help showcase CCD’s success. He's told other organizations to do the same in the past in an effort to support their causes as if that testimony has more weight than the anti-crowd.

Wanna take bets on whether the PDN and SG report on the petition? I’m thinking they’ll ignore it in favor of quotes from Ozias and the CCD people.

Have a feeling that Sequim is looking at 2 lawsuits: one from the Wayne Family and one from the land developers. That will be front page. Maybe if we took up a collection and published an ad in the SG?

Ever since Emma Maple left the PDN, I haven't seen one in the boardroom. She was easy to spot because of her computer. My guess is they either watch live via the stream or watch the recording immediately after.

Something’s got to give, this Seattle model is not going to work. Handouts in the past 5-10 years have done absolutely nothing to provide public safety with any sort of accountability by this band of Commissioners. I love my country, but fear my government.

Kommissars know better than the people. French, you too will be replaced despite your "show".

Got news for you Koms, you created a monster who likes power, and Christy is coming for your job. Why? Cuz "identity" is the only skill required for public office in CC.

Christy is wearning that shirt for a reason so relax... Now she's a big shot in government, and looking for a more upwardly mobile lesbian partner.

From CCD or the public, MK? If you mean the public, I agree. The CCD was weak, and did not present any new data, metrics, reassurances, or clarity. They're like kindergartners playing store with all the fun toys.

Definitely the public. The changes I noted were more voices, and the challenges to future elections.
