"No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their problems - of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind."
The fraudsters are getting compensated $100K+ salaries to continue messing up our county with their unacceptable behavior. Most people, if you were fortunate or lucky enough to have a good paying job or career worked a life time to receive a salary such as this. Most retirees don’t have pensions close to $100K+ and most benefits run out at Medicare age 65. It would be nice to know what these fraudsters did before their elections as commissioners, can someone post what their qualifications are please? Having a gig like Commissioner is like being handed a key to Emerald City and standing behind the green curtain…..wow such a nice gift “over the rainbow” able to spend other people’s money and make a whole lot of it in the process.
Nothing like a BIG FUCK YOU from the kommissars...off on a 3 day junket to shaft the citizens bigger and harder than ever before!😱
And a BIG FU to JKT for being just another 'mob-controlled' soulless corporate entity.
Way to 'steward' the environment!🤮
The Mormons have their problems but at least they can think straight about the mental illness/drug epidemic and seem to be moving in a realistic direction.😊
Time for the local commie rags to die...or start representing the people with truth, justice, liberty and accountability. It requires tough love!🤔
We're getting tired of swimming in and paying for a cesspool of corruption...at every level of governance!🤡
I’d be less concerned about “saving local journalism” if, in fact, Sound Publishing engaged in actual investigative journalism instead of printing nothing but fluff and some decent local sports reporting. They certainly avoid topics that would put advertisers in a negative light.
Also, I’ve known and bowled with Melvin for several years. We talked about his “incident”, and let me tell you, it was more frightening than you can imagine. For a county commissioner to downplay the severity is both mind boggling and disgusting.
Robert, Jim Stoffer should be forced to personally view Melvin's scars and hear his description of the "incident"...would Stoffer then be able to look Melvin in the eyes and downplay it? Yes, I so agree with you, it is mind boggling and disgusting!
I actually had a 'casual' discussion with someone who works at PDN about the attitude and acts of CC Board. I was told I should look into it and get back to PDN! I replied "isn't that what Investigative Journalists at the paper are supposed to do"? Crickets.
I made a comment earlier this year on one of their articles about the lack of investigation and only doing "press release journalism" and was immediately blocked from all their social media, lol
Not surprising. Good journalists have an innate curiosity and skepticism, and they develop local sources, just as Jeff has done with CCWD, then follow up on the tips. Problem is, local newspaper employees as a rule don’t make a lot of $$ and are usually worked hard. The biz has to be treated as a lifestyle, not an 8-to-5 gig, for them to be truly effective. Plus they have to have the backing and encouragement of management to pursue peeks behind the curtain of local powerbrokers.
All stories hit a solid point, Jeff, but the one that still has my eyes popping is the Jim Stoffer comment. According to Jim, as long as good stories out-number the bad ones, everything is okey dokey here in CC. All people have to do is walk outside to see that bad, bad criminal behaviors are out-numbering good Samaritan behaviors. I want my tax dollars to pay for my community's safety, not a Commissioner's imagined fears. And thank you, Jeff, for bringing wit and humor to start our Mondays with Clallamity Jen and Straight Shooter, along with many others here on CCWD knowing how and when to let those zingers loose.
Remember in 2011 when the Senate declared Pizza a vegetable? Who didn’t laugh at that? Certainly not the food industry. The menu consisting of processed foods and sugars is so obviously unbalanced and unhealthy... Mozzarella String Cheese?! Cereal?! Banana Muffin Tops?! Pizza?! Cheeseburgers?! Popcorn Chicken?!
Finding anything in the menu that is healthy is like looking for Waldo. HINT: It’s in the pizza sauce.
Michelle Obama was leading the fight for better nutrition in schools. I guess the food industry won that battle.
06/16/14 First lady: Students shouldn’t pick what they have for lunch
Obama said parents and school leaders can’t let children make the call to eat pizza and burgers for lunch every day.
{mosads}“If I let my kids dictate what we have for dinner every day, it would be French fries, chips and candy, but we don’t run our households like that, and we can’t run our schools like that,” the first lady said in an interview with MSN.
“Our job as adults to make sure that our kids eat what they need, not what they want,”
Between my 2 daughters, one who is still in elementary school, I have attended many school lunches in the recent years.
The most alarming things I observed by attending these lunches is not only the highly processed main courses but also the limited time students have to get their lunch and eat it. And the many pounds of wasted food.
Often times, especially in elementary, by the time the kids have gone through the line, they have very limited time to eat before they are ushered outside. And if you think an elementary age student isn't gonna dump a full tray with only a few bites taken out of it in exchange to go go to recess, then you are horribly mistaken.
Full trays of food thrown in the trash.
I send my daughter with a home lunch everyday. At least I know she has time to eat and that she is getting a less processed option to function with throughout the day.
And to think we've been brainwashed for decades to believe that these ultra sugary, ultra processed, chemical laden cereals are "part of a balanced breakfast" ! Maybe for lab rats.
Melvin Swagerty's story is abhorrent. The, by chronological age only, adult couple were both complicit in attempting to take Melvin's life. The woman commanding the stabbing and the man stabbing Melvin. It is unfortunate that couple has already procreated, prolifically it appears, but they both should be removed from the human gene pool. Absent volunteer relatives the children should go into the foster care system where they might find a chance at a productive life. The only weapon to eliminate political malfeasance is to take away their money. "No new taxes" is not just some red necked chant.
If a better racehorse is desired selective breeding is utilized. Yet government agencies have the opposite motivation. Inferior humans create the need for more government departments. I would prefer an orphanage to foster care, but both offer a bleak future for any child.
private man, If you mean what I think, the final "touches", as I interpret you, aren't good. You're right. Foster care sounds like a solution, but in reality is harsh. It's a whole different topic of discussion. Makes me sad ; (
Yes, I knew very a stellar old couple who raised several foster children - teaching values, the value of hard work, etc. Unfortunately much of the system is not that great. There have been some bad cases. On record.
The couple falls neatly into the Theory R category. Theory R candidates have a high reproductive rate, produce a multitude of offspring and offer them little care. This situation is perfect for government bureaucrats because defective humans require constant supervision. Constant government attention creates government expansion, larger departments and a myriad of promotions for government employees.
Per the Society for Personality and Social Psychology: overconfidence fueled by positive thinking can cause a person to be less prepared for a situation.
Leaning on the positive can lead to a form of "toxic positivity" and can prevent people from addressing and solving real problems.
The negativity Stoffer focuses on is Jeff Tozzer. Stoffer has spent more time trying to shut Jeff up than he has focused on any other item the Charter Review has put forward, with one exception, himself. In addition to the Charter Review Stoffer’s outside influences are hard at work too trying to kill the messenger……so no wonder Stoffer’s compassion focus for a man who almost lost his life is lacking, he’s too busy and too focused on more important issues, Jeff Tozzer, alive, well and exposing people like himself. Thank you Jeff.
4rs, there are 4 or 5 subscribers on this substack who carry the same characteristic behaviors you describe. That of a focused attack on Jeff. Hmmm...hell hath no fury like a commissioner scorned.
The male ego is a very powerful instrument. When ideas are attacked the defense mechanisms become very strong and fight to protect the integrity of the mind.
A recommendation for anyone who has occasion to speak with Mel, or anyone else who has endured a negative event. Do not directly ask them about the negative incident unless they bring it up. It is not caring to do so no matter what people say, it's negative.
People manage their negative events in the ways that work for them so that they can function. When you force someone to relive any negative event you're only serving yourself, if you initiate. Let the person be and learn to talk about anything else that may be of positive interest to the person. Know them, this is how to care. They want and need normalcy, and this is what keeps them moving in the right direction. Learn to restrain yourself from the ever popular notion to ask in order to show caring.
When someone decides that they want to talk about what's negative that's the time to show empathy and listen. That's it, just listen, but don't forget to help them move back to a positive place by segueing the conversation to something positive in their lives when they're done talking about the negative.
One man's negative event might be considered a positive one for another man. Imagine all of the government officials who will profit from the stabbing. Catch and release is profitable not only for law enforcement but the court system and now child protective services.
Thank you, thank you, thank you — for sharing my work and the Strait Shooter, and for enjoying it so much! I’m glad both substacks are giving people something to laugh at and look forward to.
Relocating my comment about "secret biker dope recipe" here because I believe it important people realize this is not just a random mental health delusion of one criminal. P2P meth and it's dominance in the illegal meth trade is very real and has major consequences in our county. There have been several recent large scale busts of drug traffickers and manufacturers in the PNW in recent months so lower level traffickers are likely scrambling for their supply sources.
The stabbing story may have not mentioned drug use of suspects because the suspects didn't admit drugs and/or none were found on them (likely all used up by the time police caught up) or there is further ongoing investigation involving the drug aspect. "secret biker dope recipe" is not an organic individual delusion. In the early 80s when manufacturers switched methods the old school "biker "recipe for P2P meth became more desirable. In recent years P2P meth has reemerged as the dominant meth manufactured by cartels. Some history of meth from Google :
The term "biker dope" in methamphetamine lore generally refers to meth produced in the mid-20th century using a complicated and volatile method involving phenyl-2-propanone (P2P). This contrasts with the later, more common pseudoephedrine-based methods.
"Biker Dope" Lore and History
P2P Method Dominance: Before the 1980s, when pseudoephedrine-based production became widespread, biker gangs like the Hells Angels dominated the smaller meth trade using the P2P process.
Method Characteristics: The P2P method was known for being complex, volatile, and producing a highly rank smell, which limited production to rural or desert areas.
Late 70s-early 80s I had a step parent in the home, a veterinarian who abused Xylazine (now a common add in to street drugs referred to as "tranq" often found in fentanyl that causes flesh rotting in addicts) and he had "friends" from the Bandidos who stopped by regularly on their bike runs across the state. I didn't figure out until a few years later why my Mom hated the nice bearded guy who always brought treats for the kids when he stopped by our country home and hung out in the vet office lab for a while. The Bandidos at the time were very involved in P2P manufacture and had their own recipe.
In recent years P2P has resurfaced as dominant and the recipes are desired by traffickers. Google on P2P comeback:
P2P Resurgence (2010s-Present): The P2P method allows for large-scale, cheap, and rapid production using readily available industrial chemicals, like those found in racing fuel, perfume, and photography products. By 2012, P2P meth accounted for 96% of seized samples by the DEA.
Characteristics and Impact
The P2P method has led to a drug that is chemically different and more dangerous than its predecessor.
Increased Potency and Availability: P2P meth is incredibly cheap, plentiful, and pure, flooding the market and making it easily accessible.
Severe Mental Health Effects: Public health experts and treatment providers report that P2P meth causes a faster and more severe onset of mental health issues, including intense paranoia, hallucinations, delusions, and psychosis, compared to the ephedrine-based version. These effects have overwhelmed mental health and social services.
Link to Homelessness: The profound psychological and cognitive damage caused by the drug makes it extremely difficult for users to maintain jobs, housing, or social connections, which has been linked to rising homelessness in communities across the U.S., particularly on the West Coast.
What you have written here actually resonates with me because it fits into my understanding of "home cooked" drugs and all of my research. I also like your writing style and how well you have described your personal experiences. I remember the cocaine crowd and I learned much from the "Meth" people over the years. Yes, these folks who get hooked on these dangerous substances do definitely undergo a terrible "personality change" and over a very short period of time. I noticed it quickly because some of the nicer people I knew who got involved in this category of drugs became absolute monsters within a couple of months. The first thing that they would do is to become manic, aggressive, angry, highly unpredictable, and they would rob anyone they could blind to pay for their addiction. I am sure that anyone who gets hooked on these drugs will suffer mental and physical issues like liver & kidney damage, serious dental issues, and a laundry list of other problems, but the ones that I have known who were most inclined to use these drugs had very obvious "self-esteem" issues, low self-image, and were weaker personality types... It is my experience that these types become hooked on these drugs to feel "stronger" because they are very weak people. Instead of working to improve themselves to really become stringer, they attempt to take a chemical "short cut" to feel strong and powerful, when that is FAR from what they really are~! Years ago my wife, who was one of the best in medical diagnosis until she was attacked for telling the truth to her patients about the COVID & deadly vaccine risks, told me that one of her patients was incredibly "stinky" like rotting flesh in the hot sun, and I immediately told her that her patient was a "meth head" because it is well known that these people always stink, even right after they take a shower~! The poisons "ooze" out of their pores as their bodies are struggling to get rid of the deadly toxins that they are sucking down~! Anyway, thanks again for your well written response and I do hope that folks take this subject very seriously because it is very intentionally being used to destroy America and our society~!
I do wonder what a "secret biker dope recipe" is~?
How would that possibly explain and/or excuse the vicious assault of Melvin Swagerty~?
That all sounds like the rantings of the mentally ill in desperate need of help~?
Great job with the pending lawsuit VS the criminally corrupt Port Townsend Jefferson Healthcare problems, and I can see that may just be what needs to be done right here to address our serious problems with the Clallam County Commissioners and with our so-called "healthcare system" of the OMC~! I sure would like to know what and exactly who is behind the WSAC ("Washington State Association of Counties") and where they get off manipulating and grooming our commissioners to violate our freedoms, rights, and obligation to oversee our public servants' activities~? This "connection" is our problem, and "we" need to find out what is really going on there, because I am absolutely sure that we are seeing the subversion of our American Constitution right in plain sight~! Everyone should be completely outraged by ANY efforts to organize our public servants against us and our lives. These Commissioners were without any doubt just told "NO" about their further tax schemes, so now we have to watch these venomous sidewinders to make sure that they do NOT shove any further taxing scams on us~! How DARE anyone push our servants to tax us without our approval and God only knows what else these treasonous scam artists are up to~!
I am not sure about Walter White, but anyone who uses these "cooked drugs" can expect to die early and likely very painfully from any number of things, because they damage the immune system and once that is done, they are "toast"~! NO ONE can survive a damaged immune system for very long, depending upon just how damaged the specific immune system is, what specific weakness the Individual is predisposed to, and what comes along to challenge their weakened immune system~! Play stupid games and get stupid prizes~! Once I learned what happens to the people who get hooked on these "cooked drugs" I got away from those types of people because having them around will destroy your life and draw you into countless never-ending dramas! That is no way to live, and I didn't want to expose myself and my friends & loved ones to that kind of dangerous real life "I Love Lucy" TV show~!
Connect the dots and scratch your heads. From their own website: "The Dungeness River Nature Center maintains active partnerships with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society and the National Audubon Society." From Audubon's website https://www.audubon.org/our-work/cities-and-towns/lights-out. TLDR = artificial lights at night kill migrating birds. Granted, peak migrating season is August thru October, but many species of waterfowl (hello, PNW) are still heavily migrating in November and even into December. Any avid birder has known about the dangers of night light for years, and for the DRNC, JKT, and OPAS to be partners in this hypocrisy is madness.
Typical PA Sequim grandmother, that has Pa Rug under the threat of splitting the sheets if she can't go to the Casino. It is actually Pa Rug who pays for it.... I could name some of these people but health care is expensive.
John, not if you are "special" which you aren't. There is no Healing Clinic for you....Below are 2 very expensive vans awarded... Stumbled on that while looking into JST Tribal Utility Program-(to find out how they pay their electrical bills)...another enigma to be hidden in the folder under "only open when time immemorial is established"
Maybe the JST's takeover of the Dungeness NWR is their form of absolution. Now where to get their oyster beds going without further intruding on wildlife.

Hello Patriot Susie Blake~!
Thank you for this well-done writing~!
Have a great Thanksgiving~!
Sincerely, Mike
HA~!
JUST SAY NO~!
Sincerely, Mike
I thought Walter White died of cancer. Has anyone seen blue biker meth lately?
Hello Patriot Steve O~!
Have a great Thanksgiving~!
Sincerely, Mike
Sorry Mel.
Have a holly jolly Christmas and in case you didn't hear, Oh by golly Blyn will be seen from space again this year...
John, just wondering, do you know who foots the electric bill?
Granny Grits...Those lights work better than 25 cents of the lemon doughnuts at Safeway.
Whose Granny Grits?
Typical PA Sequim grandmother, that has Pa Rug under the threat of splitting the sheets if she can't go to the Casino. It is actually Pa Rug who pays for it.... I could name some of these people but health care is expensive.
John, not if you are "special" which you aren't. There is no Healing Clinic for you....Below are 2 very expensive vans awarded... Stumbled on that while looking into JST Tribal Utility Program-(to find out how they pay their electrical bills)...another enigma to be hidden in the folder under "only open when time immemorial is established"

Awards Washington State Dept of Transportation
The table below shows 16 Tribal Transit Mobility projects funded for nearly $8.6 million and awarded for the 2025-2027 biennium.

They'll care when salmon can fly.
Maybe the JST's takeover of the Dungeness NWR is their form of absolution. Now where to get their oyster beds going without further intruding on wildlife.
Stewards of the land?
They need to shut those lights off at Burger King so them seagulls dont crap on my car.
Funny the county will be off trying to find more ways to increase tax but shouldn't they be paying attention to this meeting?https://dnr.wa.gov/news/2025/virtual-meeting-tuesday-discuss-dnr-analysis-elwha-watershed
"The Washington State Department of Natural Resources will discuss its upcoming analysis of the ecological and conservation values of state-owned lands in the Elwha Watershed during a virtual meeting from 2 to 3:30 p.m. next Tuesday, Nov. 18."
Th recent election was just round 1 of the tax hike fight for Clallam
