There's an entire methodology missing in this county how to spend taxpayer dollars in a fiscally prudent manner. The current BOCCC is directly responsible for this failure, and I'm not talking about politics. That's a losing argument. I'm talking about three people who spend money in an irresponsible manner.

We need better, whether Democrat, Republican, or Independent.

HA!

Excellent comment Patriot Kathy~!

I am VERY open minded and completely defend everyone's right to make their own personal decisions, however as a consumer & human being I do pay attention to the way Individuals present themselves in business and in public. I find is absolutely astonishing that an Individual would physically let themselves go, dye their hair with atrocious colors that only used to be fit for either circus venues or Looney Tunes cartoon characters, physically deface themselves with disgustingly repulsive ink and piercings, and THEN admonish folks as "bigoted" because many of us walk away from them~! HA! If an individual decorates themselves like a Halloween nightmare year-round and they expect to be taken seriously, that is a very clear sign of mental illness that many would avoid, especially at this time in history where you never know if you can trust the next stranger that you meet. I am an old school Personnel executive, and I have been doing my best to warn these "decorated walking carnival freak shows" that they are absolutely destroying the vast majority of the great opportunities that they would otherwise have had in life. Work, careers, friendships, love, if you play stupid games with your personal appearance, you will only get stupid prizes as a result! I view these "grotesque walking paint spills" as too mentally and emotionally imbalanced to take seriously at best, and too dangerous to deal with at worst, so maybe this disturbed Individual is intentionally misreading bigotry when it is more likely common-sense~! She profiles as the poster child of "The Victim Card"~! I could care less what sexual interests anyone has as long as they are not harming anyone, so this looks like someone who has made the worst possible decisions in her appearance, likely all of her life, and now all she can do is blame others for her mistakes that have nothing to do with her sexual preferences... If folks look at the really serious clothing models these days, ALL of the models are basically presentable and do not have the visual atrocities that so many sad people have adopted for the rest of their lives~! Good Grief~! Have a great day! Sincerely, Mike

I have tried to understand the tattoo thing. My theory is, people are lonely, they have the undivided attention of the ink artist. So they keep coming back. Plus they get hooked on the pain. For what ever reason it’s a brain stimuli that tells us to run, but maybe not for these people.

And if you want to sleep in your parents garage, tattoos are career suicide. A topic at Wharton, go figure.

Michael Heath's avatar

Good morning, Patriot Susan C Bonallo~!

Actually, you are not far off with your theory about why people get tattoos~! Obviously, we are not talking about the Individual who has one or two tattoo's that are not always readily observable or can be easily covered up by clothing. We are discussing the disgusting practice of having SO many tattoos that they deface and impair the Individuals ability to lead a normal life. I know a number of very normal Intelligent folks who have what could be called small "tasteful tattoos" that they got as an expression of Individuality, sometimes for Individually pleasing artistic purposes (in the moment), but always when drugs and/or alcohol were involved that impaired their better decision-making abilities. Everyone makes mistakes, but most who have just one or two tattoos that do not dominate their appearance 24/7 learn to live with them and it usually plays no material role in their lives. Obviously, as you have so well suggested, the Individuals who have tattooed themselves on their faces, necks, feet, and hands are SCREAMING for attention~! This is to be expected in a sad collapsing society where most children for generations were and are now/today "latch key kids" who grew/grow up without their parents at home because they were working jobs to pay the bills. So, the mental impact on these generations due to the lack of good parenting at home has in fact created a HUGE laundry list of problems for society (big and small). I was in one of the very first early generations where the "latch key kids" were first named as such, so I definitely know exactly what I am talking about. Both of my parents had professional careers in a time when women who had professional careers were extremely rare, and our family paid a severe price for it. These days it is the "norm" for children to grow up without a parent at home, so it is understandable that many of them are absolutely desperate for the attention & Love that they never got as children and as a manifestation of this desperation they listen to "murder death kill" music, wear all black "gangsta" clothes (often with their pants down around their ankles as if they are prisoners "advertising" for sex) , dye their hair shocking unnatural colors, cut & punch holes in their bodies that only their doctors and sexual partners would know about, and of course treat tattoo joints as if they were their real home where they can be tortured and abused willingly out of some twisted sense of Individual expression that few others EVER want to actually see~! Oh, and throw in the 3rd world cesspool prison gangsta "Pidgeon English" that they "think" makes them sound cool, and "POOF" you got one damn serious mental patient that the vast majority of folks in the world would avoid any contact with~! The sexual preferences of these individuals is probably the last thing most people care about (if they care about that at all ;-) I am all about trying to let folks know that this is a VERY difficult and dangerous world to navigate through, much more so that most currently understand, and one of the keys to doing so well is to always "keep your options open"~! This world and every shyster and their pet monkeys are doing everything that they possibly can to constantly get folks to "limit themselves", put them into a "box", or otherwise trick them into eliminating their options in life in order to prey on them as victims of some scam or scheme~! The government constantly does this, most businesses do it, and even our so-called friends and families more often than not push folks into foolishly surrendering their own options and/or not persuing their personal dreams. So, this insane business of tattooing from head to toe and punching & cutting their own bodies in irreversible ways is a HUGE obvious trap that has now created legions of literally unemployable people who clearly didn't think things through. Now, of course, these same people who tragically victimized themselves, STILL can't think things through effectively, so all they can do is blame anything, anyone, and everyone else for their own mistakes in judgement~! Typical~! Get used to that my friend, because the low information low-Intelligence crowd is going to "flip out" more & more going into the future, because they will never take responsibility for themselves or their own bad decisions... I am monitoring many "ground shaking" (world shaking) truths that are slowly working their ways into the general public, so these pitiful people who have made disastrous decisions in their lives are going to get further & further behind the 8 Ball. No, society is NOT going to "learn to accept" the poor slobs who abuse their bodies and physical looks with tattoos, holes, and other defacing self-abuse cries for attention and/or mental help~! What was a sick & disgusting "fad" for a couple of generations will of course become a generational joke for hundreds of years+++ going forward. Interestingly, there appears to be a medical innovation that may soon be released that MAY be able to remove tattoos and repair self-inflicted "holes" that these foolish people have inflicted upon themselves. Outside of that, these defaced people are doomed to highly restricted futures where MOST of their options no longer exist. There are a LOT of great opportunities that these people have destroyed, that could have resulted in them having the best lives that they could have enjoyed, but with freedom comes an equal or greater level of personal responsibility for all of us~! So, I COMPLETELY ignore these people who have intentionally destroyed their own lives with such foolish personal decisions, because they advertise their horrific decision-making history for me and all to see. Their choices actually prevent me from doing business with them OR hiring them to represent me or any business that I own. Yesterday I was in town doing business with one of the retail enterprises and they had a new cashier that would have been quite pleasant looking, except that she had several metal nose "decorations" (?) hanging down that looked like "black snot" dripping off of her nose~! This is somehow attractive to this poor fool~? HA~! Well, it has long been known that when desperate people are SCREAMING for attention, that often times they don't really care if it is positive or negative attention that they actually get. That is a serious mistake, and people have the right to make their own decisions, but I would avoid people like that just out of an abundance of caution and care for these old eyes that have already seen too much ugly in this world~! Ha Ha Ha! There really is a HUGE difference between "being older" VS having good taste, so don't fall for the "fad trap" that makes people believe that terribly bad taste is the new norm~! Have a great day~!

Sincerely, Mike

The kommissars are NOT authorized to spend our money on NGO's, NPO's, 'special' subsidies for queer folk, or anything other than basic infrastructure: fire and safety, roads, etc.

The gov't is not a social safety net. It is a tool to provide essentials as defined by common sense. Churches and other 'non-profits', privately funded, can deal with SOME social inequities.

"Our leaders talk about fiscal responsibility, but they still haven’t learned to tell the difference between needs and wants." So true, Jeff. In any fiscally-responsible household or business, when the budget is in the red, you immediately cut back spending and balance the books. That sometimes means painfully shrinking the business by reducing the payroll. When county chief financial officer Mark Lane says that 69% of the county budget is spent on personnel costs, and that when “The lion’s share of the (proposed budget) increase is in payroll [and] benefits” -- PDN article, 9/7/24, discussing proposed 2025 budget), it's easy to see where the savings could be -- if the county would quit funding non-essential crap and stick to the basics. Without massive public pressure coupled with replacing the current decision-makers with folks more tuned to the realities of fiscal responsibility, the chances of reducing the size and scope of county government are what grandpa used to call Polish -- slimski and noneski.
