As I read, I was wondering if this is a battle or a war or a fight? So I started why Jeff created CCWD. The Towne Road. It was a fight to keep a road open to the public. Jeff organized and won that fight.
As Jeff’s articles progress they reveal blatant manipulations by the triad of commissioners to misdirect attention from the true nature of their agendas. Jeff revealed these many masked attempts and it became apparent the needs of the citizens were not being met. A citizens battle began.
As citizens united and grew, it became apparent that our voices, votes, concerns, and petitions were ignored and that actually there is a subterfuge within our local government. This is now war. A war against Subterfuge and that our Constitutional Rights are being twisted and reinterpreted to disguise, mask, or misdirect attention from the true nature of their actions.
These strategies of subterfuge are difficult to identify and prove…I believe we have advanced to Attrition Warfare:

I have witnessed Chairwoman Fisch prompt, good word, Jeff, her favored Commissioners in a way that makes me suspect a coordinated plan by the Commissioners. I have also witnessed her prompting, more like signaling, those in her inner LWV circle on when to give and not give public comment. We need to hear from Dee Boughton tonight.
I'm anxious to hear the lawyer speech tonight and wonder if we will see any responsibility for ethical behavior taken by the CCCRC chair. The chair has seemingly set a standard of language acceptable for commissioners, but not for we the people.

Thanks for the link! This was the first time I saw this committee in action. Quite a revelation. I watched with what I hope was an open mind as it's important to see both sides. I ended up much more convinced that Jeff's work is key to getting any kind of real responsiveness to public opinion from several of the commissioners.
Ron Richards also seemed thoughtful and deliberative, but Fisch, Stoffer, et al. don't want to hear anything that might affect the direction of that bulldozer they're riding. The meeting seemed to be just an exercise they had to get through while giving exactly zero ground to anyone else's concerns. I was gratified that enough of the commissioners voted to look into the options for disciplining Stoffer (namelessly) for the disclosure of confidential information. For a minute there, it looked as though it had successfully been swept under the rug, nothing here, moving on. Jeff, your points were well made.
By the way, what a weird rule it is that no one can "name" a commissioner when making a specific complaint. Causes some pretty funny acrobatics.
It was great to hear the public comments as well. It's impressive that so many people are willing to take time and stand up for the citizens of the county.
Wow, these commissioners are very fragile indeed. The two grave transgressions they're in a twist about are laughable. Adults in general should realize they might get called out when railroading their own agenda through. Have the decency and intelligence to respond with something factual while acknowledging the other person's reasons for reacting to your behavior. The delicate commissioners shouldn't get to secretly retaliate or (waah) get a private security detail for hurt feelings. I'm not sure they're cut out for public office.
Two things really stand out:
(1) It's shocking that Fisch and the other commissioners secretly conspired to shut down any agenda item you proposed. Show me where the transparency rules, or even Roberts Rules, allow that kind of nasty, schoolyard behavior from publicly-elected officials. Is there a censure process that can be utilized?
(2) Mielke stood on his head and performed acrobatics to try to justify the commissioners' actions -- he tried so very hard to contort it into some semblance of truth -- but he still ended up just plain lying to the public. Nothing he says going forward should be believed without some kind of verification.
How can people acting with self-entitlement like this be dislodged from their positions? They no longer appear to be serving the public interest, and there is no other reason for them to have their fingers in the pie.

Now, ya'll be required to attend the inaugural virtual meeting once it gets published, and thank you to the board for hearing the public's needs.

Here is the part that gets me the most. When folks are just shut down or off (happens in work places also) it just shows a crystal clear picture of
1) not valuing another person -- proving insecurities of the shutter downer.
2) how damaging to the arena the shutter downer is to what they are doing.
3) proving that they do not want what is best for what they are doing. It's a all about me thing.
